That’s where this amazing lady differs from most ( if not all ) in the horse world. She doesn’t establish control through fear or pain devices, the body language of the horses is crystal clear, they engage willingly and happily, their brains are stimulated in a pleasant way, and they’re perfectly content for her to be herd leader because horses need a herd leader, but one they can trust to know their needs.

I'm fascinated that a bunch of horses are just hanging around you, hanging on your every word, just waiting for you to be done chatting, just as calm as can be. Now THAT is some solid training, just letting them BE horses! Wow. Well done you!

So your riding style is the closest thing I've found to traditional Gaelic-style horsemanship. Being a bareback style that focuses on companionship with your mount, and when you brought your horse inside I was cackling like a madman! The celts would often house their animals with them, so seein' him under the Christmas tree did my heart a warm!

THIS! is the type of horsemanship everyone should strive for. I tell people sometimes I love horses as much (if not more) as those who adore canines. Animals are fantastic buddies to have around. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used my horses to help alert me of danger, noises or just in general transportation. Horses are smart. I applaud this lady with her God given skills to learn and solve equine problems. True showcase of her natural talent. Keep up the great work and keep us youtuber’s posted xD

When I was a little girl, this was what I dreamed of doing. Riding horses before I could even walk as a toddler; all the way until I turned 17. The loss of my project horse to a brain tumor, as well as depression took me down after a long struggle. I'm 21 now; my father still lives on the ranch I left behind, and sometimes when I visit I wonder what could have been. Horses are truly magical animals. Videos like these warm my heart like no other. Don't ever lose your spark Emma

Emma you truly are an equine angel and your have the gift of patience , compassion and understanding that brings out the best of every horse that enters your life. I love the fact that you understand when the horses are trying to speak to you in their way and how you never force or push them you build a relationship with them first because you know that bullying or domineering will only make a horse become resentful and not want to cooperate. This is was true horsemanship is all about putting the horses well being ahead of human needs . You are a wonderful person .😊

I'm not just saying that! I really mean it! You're fearless but logical, crazy but gentle! You are so different and creative, it puts a huge smile on my face watching your videos.
You have shown that a horse doesn't need to behave perfectly to have fun with it! That they don't need to be perfectly sound 24/7 to live a fun filled life!

Its a special thing when you bond with a horse. I was riding at a very young age, always owned horses. When I was 7 yrs old I was standing up on a horse. Being brought up around other horse people we understood the special love you can have with a horse. When we went swimming our horses went with us. If we went for a walk our horses were right there with us. Big loving gentle animals.

Seeing Emma with the stallion reminded me of the movie ”The horse whisperer” how he waited out the horse until he had its trust, and the different steps he took to gain its trust by spending time with it in many different ways and letting the horse get used to him. And how it ran in a circle on a line and did just what it did in this clip jumping up and down and kicking. Lovely t see when people give an animal the chance to learn trust and to not punish it for trying to protect itself.💛 ps. It wouldn’t surprise me if she saw the movie because she seem to be the right age who must have been around 10-14 when the movie came out.

Seeing these horses around you with their muzzles in your hair an on your shoulder and your back, just pressed into you like that is the sweetest thing I think I've seen yet. Not to detract from the actual story here, I'm just taken by these scenes of you doing the interview with these gray horses around you and wanting to keep their muzzles on you. It conveys an expression of trust and love deeper than words.

So many comments on how beautifully your horses stand around you... That part actually comes quite natural to a horse... It's the fact that not one of them is misbehaving; scratching their face on you, or trying to throw your arm in the air, with their nose:) That's all you. They are perfect ladies & gentleman.

Many years ago I rescued an Arabian. He was skeletal and had scars from previous beatings. So afraid of everyone and everything.
I am a truly terrible rider and decided I would just enjoy him from the ground instead. He was regularly lunged to keep him in good shape and limber, but I only lunged him using my body language, and no whip.
What an amazing bond we had. He chose to spend all his time as close to me as possible, in the stable yard, or even out in the fields.
The mutual love and friendship is indescribable. I think we can enjoy horses as much without ever riding them, as we can if we ride them. Maybe more...
If I could pass any learning on from my experience, it would be to truly understand your horse.
Spend more time on the ground with them than actually riding. Run and play with them. Learn what they are telling you.
Horses never ever stop communicating with their bodies and even expressions. It's a magical world once its unlocked.

I know what you mean about feeling like you don't fit in at school, I often get called too loud, obnoxious, that I talk too much and what not. When I get super down I always look on the bright side. I get to go to the barn in a day or two, it's okay. I've began helping at my dads coworkers barn in exchange to ride and play with her her horse strawberry, that use to be her dads ranch horse, and all she knew was work, work, work. Me and her have bonded so well, she follows me around, bows, lays down when I ask her and along with help from her owner we are working to train her to be ridden bridleless. She's learned that with the right partner, riding and p,acing can be fun and relaxing. This horse keeps me going and I love her so much. You are such an idol for me, thank you for all that you do Emma 💕

You are brilliant! I really do not like shows where the horse is expected to overcome his or her innate fear to jump so bloody high..thus falls..injuries and sometimes death! You are THE smart horse trainer and I do hope other horse trainers and riders take note! ♡

Your method is very inspiring! It seems like mainstream way to go is to be a relentless alpha leader, but here we got something different. I've got few horses, and in this fall we will get our first foal, a lovely mare that I have had privilege to know since birth. I visit her every day and I feel this friendship developing between us. I hope our training will be as smooth and natural as you have with your horses :)

I love this lady, it's so nice when people share the struggles and don't just show the finished product. Wish she would come to Los Angeles and do a clinic!

This makes me feel so much better because my instructor quit the place I was getting lessons so I made a big choice of moving to her new stable it was a old stable because I moved from there but I’m crying every minute because I miss the horse at the old stables

Emma, such a cool video. It's been 19 years since I had my horses. I was 23 when I broke my 1st horse for riding, a 2.5 year old appaloosa mare. Started out bareback since i didnt own a saddle yet, did everything at halter and on a longe line up to that point. But one day Babe got curious and poked her head into the partially open sliding glass door between my living room and the back yard where they would graze, and I got this crazy idea to see if she would come inside. (What was I thinking? It was a rented house!) Anyway, I got her in, turned her around, and then quickly thought, i better get her out of here before she startles and kicks a hole in a wall! Your photo of your horse under the xmas tree reminded me of that. Will enjoy watching your adventures.....I miss riding so much (had to sacrifice having horses for being a single mom and now I am a more than full time caregiver to my paralyzed partner. Barely have time for some planter gardening, much less horses.) But I will vicariously enjoy them thru YOU! Follow your heart and creativity and have fun!
