Backing 2 untrained horses in SCOTTISH wilderness

- Here is a short film of my Highland Coast to Coast adventure. I bought two untrained / unbacked Highland ponies and took them across the Highlands of Scotland. I picked the ponies up from their breeder the day before our adventure started (not knowing them at all) and set off with the end goal of being able to ride and have them with me at Liberty. Over 10 days we made our way across in some tricky conditions. I carried all my food and kit and camped out along side my new ponies alone in the wilderness. Here is our journey.......

I love how Emma works with horses, she’s not loud , she’s not aggressive , she’s kind and she understands how the horses are feeling, truly inspiring

Thank you so much!!
My grand daughter had this video on, I watched it and re-watched it. Fantastic!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@Emmassingale I will be following your adventures. :)
Gorgeous work Emma, with joy I came back for a second look. Your work with horses is gentle, free, pure and inspiring. Just gorgeous..
Your adventures are so wonderful! You are living such a beautiful story. Keep up the awesome videos. Thanks for posting. :)
agree
I have to say Emma - I had heard of you and even seen some of your stuff on facebook - but here, on youtube coming across your videos is sooo inspiring! I use the natural approach with my own horses and that of my clients and I am not entirely sure I could have done what you just did, which is jump onto a pony you have only had for barely a week...out in the wild....with no tack, not even a bareback pad!! I loved your end comment 'It's all about the relationship' That is where my heart lies! Thanks for what you do:-)
This is another World. I love your World. Thank you for sharing. Alot of hard work and perserverance and joyful
love -you built Trust and Friendship. I am so happy they will be meeting the rest of your horse family!
Love it
I don’t comment often but I absolutely loved this. Highland horses are one of my favorite breeds. They are magnificent and it was so amazing to see them in their natural habitat. I love how they really are made for the highlands like with their natural defense against the midgies. I would love to see more of this!
Hi Rosa, Full film available here emtv.emmamassingale.com/ called The High Road. Glad you enjoyed it.
there must be an award of some magnitude to honor this work
Don't own horses anymore but I still love humane horse channels. You and THINK LIKE A HORSE are my faves. My mom's name was Emma.
Amazing to see . How they accepted you in their herd and as leader . hector is great, and hopefully Hughie will bond with you, but just takes a bit longer. I bivvied when bicycling round N.Scotland and didn`t sleep much because of those midges, so know how you felt!!
I've grown up riding Highland ponies and I recognise quite a few of the places in this video!! I love their cheeky nature and stunning looks, they really are unique ❤️
This was amazing. I wanted it to be a full length film. How much I enjoyed it and your work is amazing and I think it’s important for other Equestrians to see.
Hi Kathy, Full film available here emtv.emmamassingale.com/ called The High Road. Glad you enjoyed it. Jeremy

You’re epic!
Do you have any videos of you introducing these two to your herd? (Fingers crossed lol)

Did you keep the ponies
Just a qustion, what is the mask on ur face for?
Was really enjoying this but I keep getting the circle of doom..when Emma announced the horses went missing...buffer...I'm going to have to change by tactics...buffer. I just had to skip forward and miss most of it. I restarted my phone, updated software etc so don't thinks it's me?? Restarted vid 4 / 5 times and it stops in the exact same spots - is this posted anywhere else Emma so I can watch the full video??? Any advice appreciated thanks : - )
Hi, try going to www.emtv.emmamassingale.com and viewing UA-cam video there. 👍
@@westplus3376 thank you I'll try that 🖒
No dog, then there it is in a clip then gone.
And your point is?
What made me want to watch your video....you said backing rather than breaking....such a medieval term...as back in the day people believed that to ride a horse you had t break their spirit...anyone who practice natural horsemanship know this is far far far beyond the truth.
Poor babies - cant watch.
Amazing!
Amazing!
