The 2019 Lexus LX570 is a $95,000 luxury SUV -- and also a disappointment. Today I'm reviewing the LX570 to show you why it could be better, and why I prefer its rivals. I'm going to show you around the LX570, and I'm going to show you all the quirks and features of Lexus's SUV -- then I'm going to drive it.

1- customer service
2- resale value
3- reliability
For me those are the most important benefits when considering buying a new car
I agree with you.
Especially since he favored the range rover, which has a notorious reputation of breaking down often and depreciating too much.
That’s all that matters the top three
Save $10k and just buy the Land Cruiser. So much better than the "Upgraded" Lexus model.
Daemon Mythos I tried both cars you can definitely feel the difference. Lexus feels more luxurious and comfort.
Land Cruiser interior is so ugly wtf man, lexus much better
This beast will be running like new 3 land rovers later
Oh yes, a lexus will last but land rover will cost a fortune to fix as it will continue to breakdown
There are better options, not just land rovers. Like look at a volvo xc90s or the excellence version which is also around 90-100k.
Yah but you look like a poor person...
Hmmm. You guys are living in the past like 2010 😂 Land Rovers are SOOO much more reliable since 2013. Had a 2007 Land Rover discovery that gave 0 problems in the 14 years I had it. “Land rovers are unreliable” are said by salty people who hate on people who’ve never owned them or could never afford to

At least 20
The reason the LX 570 sells better than Land Cruiser is because the Land Cruiser cost way too much for a TOYOTA badge. For about $10,000 more you can get into a LX570. Most people who could afford a Land Cruiser can also afford an LX570 so its a no brainer to get the more Luxurious version of the same SUV.
If they made the Land Cruiser $20,000 less it may be affordable for the mainstream.
I bet the Land Cruiser will hold its value better than this Lexus in 10-20-30 years
Lexus is owned by Toyota... Lexus is a Toyota

Well, I'm from Dubai and it made me laugh like anything. That said, we love these more than anything and it carries a status symbol like no other. Only thing more respectable than this would be an RR Phantom.
I am 2017 LX owner, reached 90k mile in Saudi Arabia where we have extreme weather conditions, Heat, dust and other without any issues AT ALL.
I wish they never stop producing this car.
Thats a real review.
I’m living in Iraq and it’s so desirable, yes the Range Rover and German cars and way more better handling and have a good driving experience but at the end this car is stress free. In the city that I live when you by this car brand new it will cost you about 100K USD and after 4 years you can sell it for about 80,000$ which is a small depreciation considering the high starting price, I’m guessing the situation is pretty much the same in Saudi Arabia.
Donald Trump's Geissele URGI gas block the situation in Iraq is not good unfortunately. I was 13 years old when the war started in 2003 and I cannot forget my father’s emotions when the first rocket hit Baghdad he was so so happy that the US decided to take out the bloody dictator. My family lost 8 members in the chemical attack on Halabcha town in 1988. We are Kurds in the Kurdistan region of Iraq which was relatively safe during the war and if I’m not wrong no one from the coalition subjected to any kind of harm in the Kurdish region. The Kurds were and still love the US present in Iraq generally speaking. The Chinese virus hits US badly hopefully everything will return to normal within a few months. You were having a booming economy before Corona and it’s very sad to see the crazy left and the fake media is trying to benefit from such catastrophic situation shamelessly.

Expensive luxury cars dont really have to be reliable. The people who can afford them wouldn't really own one for more than 2 years. If it breaks down they would just go buy another one.
If you watch Doug’s review of the Toyota Land Cruiser ($85k), he praises all of the same features that he hates on the Lexis. The analogue speedometer, the gear shift, etc. he hates them in the Lexis but loves them in the Toyota which is only $10k less.

@RpM_Evan actually Lexus and Toyota have some of the best reliabilty in the cars industry
@RpM_Evan I guess your definition of good has no relations to the concept of quality. Overpriced would be the shit built Rang Rovers you probably ooze over. This car is engineered and built to last 25 years along with its LC sibling. And thankfully, the fact that the LX and LC have the highest resale value on the used market out of any car, kinda shows that the market agrees its not a good, but fucking incredible car. I live in Mozambique, and I bought the LX 450d because I want a luxury 4x4 that I can take to the middle of the bush and give it a beating without having to worry about coming home in one piece. But by all means, keep wasting your money on Range Rovers and the likes. Shallow cars need shallow buyers.
@RpM_Evan exactly and the reason you do so is because you can trade in said cars the minute it gets old but in some countries some people are unable to do so ,like in my country the costs of repairing my range is so high that most wealthy people only drive it around for show and then use their land cruisers or lexuses

Doug, on remote touch (without the trackpad) there is an up/down arrow button in the middle of the controller between the menu and map buttons which will scroll up/down in a list without having to physically move the touch controller to the on-screen scroll buttons at the side of the list. Figuring out that shortcut and why those buttons in the middle exist definitely makes using the remote touch system a little bit more bearable as it is very easy to overshoot the on-screen arrows using the touch controller itself regardless of how you have the sensitivity set.

As arrogant and naive we were sometimes as sales people we ignored the facts that different ppl are looking for different things. I think Lexus IS very smart and deliver just what they are very good at: reliability and great resale value, and for the areas they could have done better such as more features and blings fancy stuff they just simply ignor it. By the end of the day there’s more profitability by producing these kind of high end vehicles with less features compared to some other Germans and still keep customers happy, a perfect win win.
"Get a Range Rover."
Are you out of your God damned mind?
Lol
No. It depends on what the buyer wants.
Yeah Range Rovers aren’t the most reliable but dear god they’re luxurious and look unbelievable. Such wonderful suvs aside from the money you’ll dump into repairs but then again If you’re purchasing a car in the $100k territory you’re probably not too concerned about repair costs.
that is pure garbage
_Jeremy Clarkson Disagrees_
Here in the UAE these are like in every corner (along with the land cruiser and patrol)
Can confirm I live their too. The problem is that the lx sucks
@@flair8099 Yea people can buy older ones for much much cheaper but people think that newer is better somehow lol
@@NaticusFetch51 yea but unlike Russia we don't get snow here people like them because of the space, luxury, tech and offroad capability
@russ g Cmon at least try to make it original.
@russ g Dude get help.
I REALLY do not like how Doug approaches Lexus in his reviews and draws early conclusions on cars he spends less than a day with.
lmao Doug just compared this car with an Audi A4
its kind of weird how a push button transmission is considered "new" even though it was used in the 1950s.
I’m planning on buying a LX570, so thanks for bringing down the price for me!
I LOVE the big grills on the big SUVs
This thing was ancient in 2019, but I really hope the new LX will come to Europe. Obviously we're not going to get the regular V6, which by now is almost as illegal as a 5.7L V8 already was in 2008, but I do see it happening when they finally come out with a hybrid or maybe even an electric version.
Edit: to clarify 'illegal' I just did the math on a secondhand 2019 LX570 that's for sale in Germany for €114.840. If I were to buy that and import it to the Netherlands, I'd have to pay an additional €24.913 because of the extreme amount of CO2 emissions, which would mean that a 2019 LX costs a total of €139.753, which is $158.627. And after that you still have to get it registered and put plates on it.
Sez the guy who loves Range Rovers. Getting home, Is never a disappointment.
Creig Mac go to hell bitch !!!!!!!
he doesn’t like the new range rovers and i don’t think he ever did apart the old defender but i can’t argue with that those defender are really cool cars
@@4gegtyreeyuyeddffvyt I been there, your wife needs to see her OBGYN.
It's a mess.
@@ducky5336 he gave the new range rover he tested a very high score. and i agree with him, range rover is a masterpiece and the king while this lexus is a disaster. trash
@@chrisc1742 trash reallyy? the land rover will be trash in a few years and you think the lexus will be? haaaa no!
Doug and alot of these UA-cam "experts" just don't get it.. Lexus and Toyota isnt about being on the bleeding edge of technology, they're all about reliability and dependability.. those analog gauges will still work in 25+ years while your fancy Audi cluster will be on its 5th trip to the dealership to get replaced for a couple grand each time.
rich folks who can afford this will change the car every 5 years anyway that's why all of the top end models dare to include all of the electronics crap
Reading this gave me an orgasm
I tend to agree with you but when it comes to reliability an analog gauge cluster is not necessarily better than a digital one.
Also the amount of functionality you're able to integrate into a digital cluster is a huge advantage.
I love the Porsche way with analog and digital elements but that's out of my league.
Thank you Doug for keeping the used prices low
Love the land cruiser, even if it’s going away
Why it's going away?
@@mattts4g low sale volumes, it will still be sold in the rest of the world but here in the US it's not coming back until the J300, supposedly
The Land Cruiser is not going away; it's just being redesigned.
Any other car reviewer: this is the 2019 lx 750
Doug: THHHHIS
LOUDER
I had to turn my volume down, jesus the 'THIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSS' is so obnoxiously loud xD
*THHHHHHHHHIIS*
570* 😂
LX570s hold their resale value better than most other vehicles. That's a "disappointment" I can live with.
13 mpg
You pay more upfront so it really doesnt matter.
You probably lose more money from spending on gas than saving money on "resale value" LMAO
@@tt-ln4mc I mean, someone who can spend almost 100k on a car sure as hell is not worried about gas payments
@@albertojoseyanespantin2803 then he shouldnt worry about resale value too then. by your logic.
Hi
Is GMC Yukon more reliable then Lexus 570?
Please suggest. I would like to finalize between the two.
The suspension getting low fast is because you have easy exit feature that when you turn off the car and want to get out the suspension will automatically turned into lowest position
Douggy!!! Thanks for the L/100km conversion !
Really helpful and much appreciated!!
Would give a like for that, but saw that I already gave one.
though it's real nice of him doing that so i dont have to do it myself, inner me hates it. mostly because my own car gets worse fuel economy than a freaking Navigator with a twinturbo 3.5L engine, compared to my 2.5L single turbo
We will be testing the real-world fuel economy for this vehicle in a few weeks on our channel!
Now tell your people to do the same for us
I don't understanding using that unit. It seems more complicated to estimate range with that number versus mpg (or kpl).
