    I've got this car and I'm surprised that he didn't mention some of the more unique things about the car, such as:
    1) It was the first production car with LED headlights
    2) There is a coolbox in the backseat that functions as a pseudo refrigerator since the A/C ports cold air into it
    3) There are infrared thermometers in the back seat to measure the temperature of the passenger's skin and adjust the air accordingly
    4) The insane sound system with 19 speakers
    5) The performance of the car is significantly boosted when you push the "PWR" button on the center console, but it doesn't affect fuel economy much
    Either way, still a great review and it was nice to see the car on here

      I'll mention that the plastic engine cover is on the base model too. Probably for a few reasons: the engine is not much to look at, it probably helps dampen engine noise to the cabin, and Lexus has a very professional white glove concierge vehicle service dept and the probably want to encourage ppl to use it by discouraging ppl from servicing their own cars. That said, if you have the skills and prefer to DIY, the plastic covers come off rather easily by removing those little circular tabs. OH and the trunk is much more spacious in the base model.

      2010 feels like one of those great weekend nights where you never want it to end. Bonfires and friends. Then Monday comes around. And you gotta get back on that grind. But in the inside you know you'll never have a day like that again.

    I actually like the styling of this car. It's not so trendy or gaudy like some luxury cars, while also not too boring. It's just seems down-to-business getting from A to B in comfortable and efficient manner.

    The Double A batteries are for the flashlight, part of the spare tire kit. Didn’t mention this vehicle has double Paine glass for quietness. Debuted for 2007. The 460 engine of the year award, mated to first ever 8 speed Automatic, and same 0-60 time (5.4sec) as 5.7L Hemi charger. Also this LS600hL also have intelligent cruise control, originally from 2003 or 04 in the US. The LS400 motor is also FAA certified. These vehicles also had the “Hold” button. Holds the peddle during red light stop.

    The 2008 Lexus LS 600hL was the first production car with full LED headlights (and you thought it was Audi), one of the first to have automated parking and so many other features. This car was ahead of its time in 2007. The W221 Mercedes-Benz S-Class was nice, but Toyota/Lexus had innovation that nobody saw coming back in 2006.

    My 1993 LS400 has a few of the same buttons and features: the seat belt height adjuster, the same locks and handles, automatic headlights (which also automatically adjusts the dash brightness depending on how dark it is outside), and the automatic AC button. Everything else is leagues above what the first gen of the LS400 came with. Soon I'll upgrade because the LS class does not disappoint.

    • @jblyon2
      @jblyon2 5 років тому

      The LS460 had the 8-speed automatic. The 600 had a dual-stage planetary gear CVT, which I believe was also a first. While Nissan developed a dual stage belt CVT in 2002 that's a totally different type of CVT. It was also a miserable failure, which goes without saying.

    • @thecraziestbear
      @thecraziestbear 5 років тому

      Not really ahead of any German cars. They might be the first one to put 8speed auto which a year later lots of manufacturer did. That doesn't mean crap. How many people spend $120,000 in 2006 on Lexus?
