I had some real bad top soil once, full of all kinds of crap, glass, sprinkler bits, bark etc. I got my money back for it. I had snake mesh left over so made a frame over the barrow and basically sifted the crap out. Adds a bit more time but left me with some not bad top soil..... just a tip 👍

Really great vids, a big thank you for some rye lawn content it’s helped me deal with withdrawals over the winter here in the UK.
I’ve been following your channel now for a little over a year and I completely went to town on my lawn 5 months ago and put down Dwarf Perennial Ryegrass and I love it. Question what setting for the over seed did you set Scott’s drop at? Also here in the UK we can’t legitimately get Tanacity so I’m after another way to stop POA coming pack.

    Hey Ben
I have P Rye, it’s around 13 months since I seeded. Water is difficult as I’m in regional Vic and survive on tank water.
I need to overseer and top dress with more soil. Q, I have areas where compaction has occurred and the base of my grass is 50 to 75mm below my edges.
What sort of thickness of soil can I add to existing grass.

So, can I ask, how much do you estimate you would spend on your lawn, $$ wise, in a season? I realise that you probably get discounts etc etc but it would be interesting to know. As someone doing his lawn on basically $0.00 budget, it would be good to know what getting to your level costs.
