It's great to hear a fellow NI man doing videos about lawn maintenance. I've been working on my own lawn recently, mostly removing a lot of moss and thatch to reseed and fill in bald and thin spots so these videos have been a good reference. I don't have the 'fancy' equipment and tools you have but I think I'm getting the job done. I'm very tempted to buy a mechanical scarifier and aerator but I'll see how things turn out with the tools I've used. Cheers for the videos!
I borrowed my neighbours electric scarifier , WOW ! what a difference, you wouldn’t believe how much moss and thatch you remove ! I then used a lawn rake , and that picked up most of the waste , and then if you use an electric mower after , this will act as a vacuum cleaner and pick up all of the smaller stuff , works brilliantly and doesn’t blow all the waste about.
Hi Robbie. Just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thanks. Really enjoy your videos. This year I followed your advice and bought myself a proper scarifier. I also made a DIY dragmat as per your instructions. On the first weekend in September I scarified the lawn and took out so much thatch it was unbelievable (my lawn is 25 metres by 15 roughly). I overseeded then top dressed with top soil and overseeded again for good measure. The game changer this year was the dragmat. If anyone hasn't made one yet then they should do as this has helped enormously. So much so that 3-4 weeks later I have really good growth and after it's first light cut it looks fantastic. Thanks again !
Hey Chris, Happy to help. The amount of feedback I have recived about the drag mat has been great! It's nice to show people that they can have a great lawn without spending a fortune
I used wayyy too much seed when I created a new lawn last year. Rather than getting a measuring tape out, I tried to eye-ball it - that was a mistake! Initially it looked awesome! But by summer, it got way too thick and then suffered for months from heat stress (I guess down to overcrowding, and too much competition for water!). Now in Autumn, I'm going to scarify, topdress and overseed, in the hope that next year I can try again! Essentially my laziness to measure correctly led to a bad lawn that I couldn't do much about for 6 months! We have long summers around 40C, with little to no rain whatsoever, so you just can't scarify in those conditions.

Seems like it'll be a huge difference, because I got twice as much material out! Also, after over-seeding, I covered the thinnest spots with some peat moss. I'd like to do the whole lawn with compost but I'm in a bit of a time constraint... I will start leveling with compost every month or so once I've got the new seeds established... if that's a good idea... I assume I can't go over 2cm at a time, and I would think about 1 month of growth might allow me to do another application???
How many mistakes did I make: UK South-west - July - Cut short - Heavy scarification & aeration (not much grass left) - Made my own lawn dressing of multi-purpose compost and sharp sand and spread - Seeded by hand but was thorough - Walk in / rolled over - Watered / continued to water daily
Honestly it sounds like you did a good job. I mean these channels have this down to a science but i managed to make a great lawn from dirt by just shaking some miracle grow grass seeds down lol. its not as complicated as they make out. Grass grows really easy
I think the big mistake is that you mentioned aerating the lawn with a fork but you didn't actually do any areating, although, some say that using a scarifier is a form of aeration as the blades cut slits into the soil. I also think that it is worthwhile top dressing the lawn after over- seeding and before matting-in as it would improve seed-to-soil contact, prevent the seed being eaten by the birds or blown away by wind or washed away by rain.
Just started my overseeding for the year Robbie! Bought the Greenworks dethacher and it worked like a charm. Just rented an aerator for the day and it was amazing! Worth the money (at least this time)! Tomorrow spreading the seed. In the past I’ve put down some compost, then the seeds and gently mixed them together with back of rake. Seemed to work well... unless u have another suggestion? The excitement begins!
Good job I've watched your other videos so I know contact with the soil is important and top dressing with compost helps keep the moisture in. Your lawn certainly didn't look too short.
I used a spot filler to cover a 4x4 bare spot in my yard; I believe the spot filler was for the wrong grass seed 😢 (fescue instead of Bermuda). The fescue grows quicker/taller than the Bermuda - should I spray this area and replant Bermuda or attempt to dig up the fescue and overseed?? Just discovered your channel, great video, thanks!
My wife and I did so.e substantial work on our lawn around March 12. We scarified and overseeded the lawn. I watered regularly but on the 17th the rains came. The rain has been rather consistent which in not the norm here. I told me wife "it looks like St. Patrick's Day brought some Irish weather with it." After my in-laws retired from the military they purchased this house in 1993. We inherited it 11 years ago. My wife told me she sees grass growing places in the yard that it never grew before, lol. Thank you for the knowledge. (I used to watch golf on tv for the scenery. The putting greens always amazed me. It's like the low pile high traffic carpet but alive.)
I was told by local experts to just spread the seeds over the winter, overseed and leave it... 3 months into it with spring starting I'm seeing eroded rivers of dirt, a couple sprouts of grass, lots of clover, and more weeds than anything... I've got half an acre... wishing I saw this ahead of time...
Just done an overseeding and top-dressing job. Expecting it to fail. Was my first time doing it, and ended up walking all over it and compressing all the top soil, and didn't spread it enough. Might have to leave it for winter and do a full refurb come spring.
Well, you've just set yourself up for failure from the start! If you've already had a negative mindset about overseeding, then you shouldn't have done it. If you feel like you don't have enough confidence in yourself to do a task, and be successful at it, then don't do it because your heart is not in it.
great video. not sure what the typical soil is in Ireland, but I live in northeastern U.S.A. and we have a lot of class soil, which is terrible for growing a nice lawn. in that case, amending the soil with gypsum (calcium), greensand (if you can find it), and lots of compost will do the trick, but you will want aerate the solid before hand. aerators are very expensive so yo'll likely either rent one or pay a landscape business to do it for you, but it will allow those amendments to get into the soil & for water to as well.
Good advice very detailed so many people miss out one or more of the stages leading to poor results. Thanks for taking the time share. All the best Pete 👍
I use my mower's bagging capability to vacuum up debris after dethatching/scarifying. Sometimes dethatching before mowing such that the passes with the mower are double-duty: cutting and vacuuming.
I have just (sort of) inherited a very large hotel lawn (I was asked if I could mow it etc as the Gardener had left) It was lush and green, fed with weed and feed routinely. However it's unlevel and springy to walk on (looks arent everything) Cutting a long story short after I inspected it (you would seriously tear your hair out if you could have seen it?) I had to scalp it. Finally got them to purchase a scarifier. Scarified it 5 times over 2 days (large lawn and just me) could probably done with an other couple of passes. Looks horrendious, over seeded it last week, clay soil that wont drain. OMG nightmare guess I will have to do the same proccess in the spring? Anyway your videos are invaluable. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the very informative info and spoken in laymans terms.
Worst mistake? Over seeding too early? Not enough water? Letting the birds eat it? Just chucking it on the lawn?? Arrrh contact with soil. This is so helpful I am gonna get a mat harrow.
I didn't know grass seed had a shelf life. I have a huge partly used bag of nice fescue from the local farm supply here in S. Delaware, second year now so I better use it up. Useful and instructive, thanks!
Oh yes, grass seed has an expiration date on the back label that most consumers don't know about when they buy it. When buying grass seed, check the expiration date first before purchasing because the big box home improvement stores have old bags of grass seed that's been sitting on the shelves for years, they don't rid of.
I've overseeded and came here to see when I can cut my grass... basically got a list of mistakes I've just made. Tbf, I know my 4 year old grass seed (more mouse dung than seed).probably not great... but it was free
Thank you for sharing the video, I enjoyed watching. When it comes to seeding your lawn, the best timing depends on your area and the yearly weather conditions. You should seed when the soil temperatures are between 10-25 degrees Celsius. Some professionals dormant seed, which is effective for reseeding bare soil areas or thickening up thin lawns, as it allows for better soil-to-seed contact. The key is to seed late enough in the year so that it sits over winter and germinates early the following spring. One common mistake is buying weed-filled seed from big box stores. It's probably more cost-effective and less of a hassle to invest in a professional-grade seed, as it saves money on herbicide applications and offers better genetics such as disease resistance and drought tolerance.
I moved into a rented property with front and back "lawn" it's actually weed only with a bit of grass in-between. I tried my best to remove the weeds, filled the holes with new soil and bought some grass seeds. Now I have nice green grass where I put the seeds but the rest looks dreadful. I wish I just left it the way it was and don't bother. Maybe I kill it all together and start new ??
I’ve only been watching this channel a week, had 2 tonnes of top soil delivered today 🙈🤣 fingers crossed it all works out, think I’ve done a good job, couple of weeks to wait now
Love the video, Unfortunately I had no choice but to renew lawn from prepping from May to seeding Jul-aug, outside of the ideal periods, what are the consequences of doing this and how can I make the best of bad timing ? Thanks
Hi four weeks ago I completely prepared and reseeded my back garden, the lawn that has grown I am really pleased with and I have mown it on a high setting, but there are some weeds also showing amongst it, is there anything I can do at this early stage to kill off the weeds?
Mike, 100 per cent leave the weed killing until next year. By all means, pull them out by hand. There are professional products that you can use 10 weeks after the seed has germinated but even at that I would recommend not spraying and let the lawn establish first. You will have a better lawn in the long term
It took me 2 months in spring to get germination. This month it took a few days for seeds to germinate. Autumn overseeding is so much better. Also in spring there are tonnes of weeds popping in to the lawn
@@stevenbelcher5658 i overseeded twice. Second time I got top dressed it I think that's the one that germinated but even that was really slow. The spring season was really cold this year. I was reading and watching a lot of videos of people who also had really slow or no progress
Here in Finland we had very dry spring. I fixed bumpy loan, but due to heat and no rain - no germination. I overseeded again in fall, and germination is going well.
I was at a seminar this week at the K club in Dublin, they tore out most of their fairways in the spring and re-seeded in March, it took 3 weeks for the seed to germinate.
@@Premier_lawns_official I’m not sure if I’ve done my lawn in the right order.. I cut and scarified, few days later raked in some compost then aerated with a fork the next day. I over seeded plus a bit of fertiliser, raked that in with topsoil over everywhere, and then rolled with a duel cylinder and make sure it’s watered. Have I done any of this wrong? Thanks
Awesome video, Robbie. Thanks for sharing - perfect for a novice like me. One quick question. I noticed in the video you've overseeded but didn't put topsoil down? Is putting topsoil down necessary? I've a feeling once I scarify my lawn I'm going to be left with quite a few patchy areas due to excessive moss. Just wondering if I should put topsoil down too? Thanks!
This grass coped well with low cutting. Mine looked scalped at even 1 inch in areas due to high crown growth. I did all these things and also used top soil over the seeds. Its 3mm screened but look more brown than the typical darker multipurpose soils. I used it to fill a few turf line dips. Will the new seeds grow through this or in it? I put some seeds over it just in case they don't come through it. The grass was cut to 1 inch and then the top soil was sieved over it and then brushed in so most of the grass blades were coming through. I put some compost over any areas that were smothered a bit. Its been a week now so I can't tell if its germinating due to the existing grass being there already. The grass was pretty good as its only 9 months old, but I wanted to incorporate a new rye type and extend some areas so I though I would fix any thin areas and incorporate the new creeping rye in other areas.
I just tossed handfuls of grass seeds over a huge fire patch on my lawn, grass is now growing there stronger than the rest of the lawn lol, pretty sure its a different breed too, but still , i did zero effort and got away with it
Great tips as always Robbie. I agree it helps to scarify first to give the seed a good contact with the soil. The biggest thing for me is keeping it watered when it’s dry for 4-6 weeks after sowing.
When I'm over seeding even with a broadcast spreader set at around 15/20 my lawn eats through grass seed. I thought a 20kg bag of grass seed would be plenty. My lawn is around 300m2. does that seem normal? Thanks @@Premier_lawns_official
Just realized this, this year. Scotts starter fertilizer says for new seed and and sod. BUT if you read the fine print on a bag of Scotts seed, it says not to use the starter fertilizer for at least 2 weeks, I assume that's so the seed germinates, they really should have that clearly displayed on the fertilizer bag.
What an awesome video.. Thanks. Do you have any tips as of how to get rid of clover in my lawn? I prefer a clean grassy lawn but have been struggling with patches of clover for some years!
Great video! Can you please give tips what to do in early spring, after we receeded in fall? Can you also tell does putting some calcium helps the grass? Here in Finland one of the tips professional give is every 3-5 years spred some calcium wich is sold in granules. Thanks
Adding calcium usually comes in the form of lime, we generally don't do that in the UK as it encourages weeds. also once you apply something to your soil you cant take it off again
@@Premier_lawns_official please consider doing a video this coming Spring based on Aivar’s idea: how to care for a lawn that had a renovation-reseeding/overseeding the previous Autumn. Thanks!!
Great video really useful - thanks. What did you use instead of the roller, is it a heavy rubber mat or something similar? any other tips on what you can use to drag along the grass that you might have lying around at home?
Hello sir , could i have a question please . I bought a very bad quality turf from B & Q they left it out and from sun was burn too much it was so hot when i movet it but i never check actualy the turf on place . When i got home i saw it and went back they ddnt accept it so my question is i did put the turf and is heavy i mean very heavy burned 90% is gray no grass will this regrow in time ?? i have it 3 days now watering every morning .
Great chanel, I've just subscribed, just wondering how you rate the milwaukee fuel mower? I'm deep into the m18 fuel platform and been contemplating replacing my 200hp mower with it, is it worth the money in your opinion? Ps my lawn size is a half acre and I have the high output batteries there, thanks 👍
Hello Robbie , I apply seaweed and a small mix of iron every month . If I wanted to reseed some thinner areas would I need to leave out the iron , or would it make no difference . Thanks
What aboot ye Robbie! Thanks for ur content! Very helpful and interesting...a quick question though: In some videos you spread seed on its own and sometimes mixed with soil in the roller. Is there any relevance to the difference that i missed? Kind regards from Germany
I put seed in St. Augustine to fix bare spots as ST Augustine does not have seeds ( only sod) and the grass that grew is horrible. It looks like troll hair abs is average 5 inches taller. Since I only spot treated I have these spots now. Do you have any advice to get rid of the “ troll hair grass” Thank you ?
Can you use different types of grass seed on the same lawn as part of our grass is in a shaded area and the rest sunny so could I use grass seeds best for the shady bit and normal grass seed on the other half
@@Premier_lawns_official minimum growing temperature is 5 Celsius. it slows with temperature. but if soil temperature is above 5 Celsius it generally will grow for most grass varieties
Thanks. Back to like & comment having been sidetracked by the next video you linked. I may well be wrong, but I though it always best to reduce the hight of cut progressively over time (by no more than a third) rather than in one afternoon......????
I have always done that, it appears not everyone does as I get a lot of questions about it. I learn loads from the questions and comment people say to me. Thank you for the comments, it always helps the videos
Grass looking great Robbie and agree with the comments below, very informative again. I use and pass on your tips often to friends and neighbours. They think I am really knowledgeable when in fact its coming from Robbie across the pond |Lol.
How long after seeding can you walk on it? The leaves are going to fall soon so I'll have to be out blowing and raking. Probably 100 bags so it would be a fair amount of traffic.
Think I scalped too much with my mower and then scarified just over a week ago. No results yet. Parts look badly damaged. Just hoping it comes back Robbie.
Robbie I really enjoy your videos and I have learnt so much thank you 🙏 I am still pondering should I do a full overhaul now 2/10/22 or am I too late ?
Hi Robbie - I scarify and overseed at least once a year, sometimes twice (always in spring or autumn), and then fertilize regulalrly through the year. But everytime I scarify I have a huge amount of thatch (not moss, as I keep this under control), meaning that a couple of runs of the scarifier and I have next to no green grass left (unlike your video). I live in North Wales very close to the coast and my soil is very sandy, or rather my sand is a little bit soily. The lawn looks terrible after scarifying but recovers eventually, but can you please advise what I might be doing wrong? Thanks
Some grass naturally generates more thatch than others, fescue is a good example of this. Bent grass too is another big culprit. Sowing more rye into your lawn can help combat the thatch What have you been overseeding with?
@@Premier_lawns_official thanks so much for responding...since i've been caring properly for my lawn (last 3 years) i've been using a 50/50 mix of rye/fescue (mainly because I'm not sure which is best for a dry sandy soil) and which would look the nicest (although there will be residual grass from before this which I have no idea what it is)...there is so much thatch and underlying growth...for example, the lawn looks lovely and lush (i keep it at 2" to help combat the dryness), then I scalp it and scarify, but I then find there are clumps of yellow grass that are a few inches long that were obviously growing under the thatch - these tuft up when scarifying and I then mow them off - I have scarified two times this year, fertlized and overseeded each time (although i don't go as far as top dressing becasue the lawn is quite large), once in spring and once yesterday...but it is just as bad...I keep wondering if one year I should just admit defeat, kill and remove the grass completely, bring in a load of top soil and start again! love the channel by the way, and thanks for making the effort!
@@NM-hj2wc its hard to give specific advice here, have you checked out my community on Facebook. You can post pictures etc Fescue will love the sandy soil and it will thrive there You might be feeding it too much though and that is compounding the thatch Killing it off and starting again is the nuke option, if there is a lot of thatch under there you will need to remove that first before installing a new lawn, otherwise it will lead to a lot of problems down the line facebook.com/groups/premierlawnscommunity

Great videos, I live close to Belfast and really enjoy your videos. My garden is full moss have just ordered a scarifier and will seed it once I’m done so trying to learn as much as I can, thank you.
Hi, I have overseeded some small areas of my lawn where they were some patches, is it safe to apply fertiliser a few days later like Scotts extreme green slow release fertliser, will this cause any adverse effects?
yeah, use the scarifier rake or machine first to get rid of as much of the dead grass and expose some good soil first. Chuck ya seed down, dump the top soil on top stanp it down then gently rake it. Water and bobs ya uncle
what are your thoughts on covering the grass with a light layer of miracle grow container compost or similar? we have a lot of pigeons down here and they tend to eat the grass seed. saw you use fleece in one of your videos so I guess I could use this as an alternative to compost to keep the pigeons off the seed

Looks horrendious, over seeded it last week, clay soil that wont drain. OMG nightmare guess I will have to do the same proccess in the spring? Anyway your videos are invaluable. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the very informative info and spoken in laymans terms.
Thanks Paul. I like to keep it simple (like myself lol)
Good advice thanks, will be overseeding the lawn this weekend
Great stuff, good luck with your lawn 😁🙏
Worst mistake? Over seeding too early? Not enough water? Letting the birds eat it? Just chucking it on the lawn??
Arrrh contact with soil.
This is so helpful
I am gonna get a mat harrow.
Sounds like a great plan 👍
Excellent sharing of knowledge and experience , thank you so much.
Great tips 💯
Thanks for clarifying good time to overseed the lawn.
Great video Robbie
The drag mat was interesting. I'm getting ready to overseed my lawn now.
You need to ensure good seed to soil contact and that's where the mat comes in 👍
Thanks for you videos my lawn is looking great though no as short I did scarcity but this hasn't had love for many years was 50/50 weed to grass
I use a soil leveller to get the seed to soil contact after stomping it in first
👌👍
I moved into a rented property with front and back "lawn" it's actually weed only with a bit of grass in-between. I tried my best to remove the weeds, filled the holes with new soil and bought some grass seeds. Now I have nice green grass where I put the seeds but the rest looks dreadful. I wish I just left it the way it was and don't bother. Maybe I kill it all together and start new ??
Hi Robbie, I just wanted to say thanks for all your advice and guidance, it`s so helpful. Please keep up the great work!
Thanks! Glad you are finding it helpful
Did the seed survive 2 months in the ground and then germinate?

Thanks!
Thank you,you simplify the process very well 👍
Happy to help 👍🙏
👍
All good advice thank you hope this Helps you with the algorithm sir 👍🙏
Hope Soo too !
i would think watering tends to bring the seeds down to the soil. but probably even better to roll first.
100 percent 👌
I just tossed handfuls of grass seeds over a huge fire patch on my lawn, grass is now growing there stronger than the rest of the lawn lol, pretty sure its a different breed too, but still , i did zero effort and got away with it
Great tips as always Robbie.
I agree it helps to scarify first to give the seed a good contact with the soil. The biggest thing for me is keeping it watered when it’s dry for 4-6 weeks after sowing.
That's why I prefer September to seed as the soil is still warm and it tends to be a bit damper and more dew too
One of the best and informative guys on here. Thanks so much.
Happy to help 😁
When I'm over seeding even with a broadcast spreader set at around 15/20 my lawn eats through grass seed. I thought a 20kg bag of grass seed would be plenty. My lawn is around 300m2. does that seem normal? Thanks
@@Premier_lawns_official
Just realized this, this year. Scotts starter fertilizer says for new seed and and sod. BUT if you read the fine print on a bag of Scotts seed, it says not to use the starter fertilizer for at least 2 weeks, I assume that's so the seed germinates, they really should have that clearly displayed on the fertilizer bag.
It will be ok to use it before the 2 weeks 👍
Your house and lawn are beautiful.
Thank you! (It's actually my parents house) It's my family home
What an awesome video.. Thanks.
Do you have any tips as of how to get rid of clover in my lawn? I prefer a clean grassy lawn but have been struggling with patches of clover for some years!

You can only buy it in America
Great video! Can you please give tips what to do in early spring, after we receeded in fall? Can you also tell does putting some calcium helps the grass? Here in Finland one of the tips professional give is every 3-5 years spred some calcium wich is sold in granules. Thanks
Adding calcium usually comes in the form of lime, we generally don't do that in the UK as it encourages weeds. also once you apply something to your soil you cant take it off again

Great video!! How long you can put seaweed on after the overseeding?

Hello sir , could i have a question please . I bought a very bad quality turf from B & Q they left it out and from sun was burn too much it was so hot when i movet it but i never check actualy the turf on place . When i got home i saw it and went back they ddnt accept it so my question is i did put the turf and is heavy i mean very heavy burned 90% is gray no grass will this regrow in time ?? i have it 3 days now watering every morning .

Biggest mistake? You didn’t put a small, fake owl out in the middle to keep the birds away.😉. Works like a charm.
Thanks for the tip 🙂
My birds are stupid.Plastic owl, aluminum pans, tinsel. Those little ,#_+* are pesky.
Really? Did it actually work? How do pans or tinsel do anything.
If you have the batteries and chargers, you are half way there. I think they are selling it without the batteries now. Would be rude not to 😉
Hello Robbie , I apply seaweed and a small mix of iron every month . If I wanted to reseed some thinner areas would I need to leave out the iron , or would it make no difference . Thanks
I would 100 percent leave the iron out this time around
@@Premier_lawns_official Thanks Again Robbie ,will do .
What can you use to help seed to soil contact if you don't have a mat like yours?
Your lawn is really looking very good. Nice job.
Thank you 🙏☺️
Brilliant video thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey GT, glad you found it helpful 😍
What aboot ye Robbie! Thanks for ur content! Very helpful and interesting...a quick question though: In some videos you spread seed on its own and sometimes mixed with soil in the roller. Is there any relevance to the difference that i missed? Kind regards from Germany
Seed under the soil is going to be the best, sometimes I put it into the roller just to show that you can do that too as not everyone has a spreader
Ah, ok. Thank you for taking the time to reply. Kind regards

I put seed in St. Augustine to fix bare spots as ST Augustine does not have seeds ( only sod) and the grass that grew is horrible. It looks like troll hair abs is average 5 inches taller.
Since I only spot treated I have these spots now.
Do you have any advice to get rid of the “ troll hair grass”
Thank you ?
Can you use different types of grass seed on the same lawn as part of our grass is in a shaded area and the rest sunny so could I use grass seeds best for the shady bit and normal grass seed on the other half
I have a facebook group called the premier lawns community that could help you with that,, you can post pictures etc
Is it too cold now to start overseeding?
A lot of turf growers in the UK only really start growing turf from seed now. It's 100 percent not to late
@@Premier_lawns_official minimum growing temperature is 5 Celsius. it slows with temperature.
but if soil temperature is above 5 Celsius it generally will grow for most grass varieties
Without knowing your soul temps, no idea.
Im gona overseed mine now too
I'm commenting to help you out. But I think the biggest mistake will be not stamping down the seed after laying it?

How long after seeding can you walk on it? The leaves are going to fall soon so I'll have to be out blowing and raking. Probably 100 bags so it would be a fair amount of traffic.
If you have to walk on it, so be it. It's much more important to keep it cleared of leaves 👍

Sowing more rye into your lawn can help combat the thatch
What have you been overseeding with?
You can post pictures etc
Fescue will love the sandy soil and it will thrive there
You might be feeding it too much though and that is compounding the thatch
Killing it off and starting again is the nuke option, if there is a lot of thatch under there you will need to remove that first before installing a new lawn, otherwise it will lead to a lot of problems down the line

Hi, I have overseeded some small areas of my lawn where they were some patches, is it safe to apply fertiliser a few days later like Scotts extreme green slow release fertliser, will this cause any adverse effects?
It should say on the packet...
Would you have advice for a new build house, with new lawn
Did you power rake the lawn or did you scarify it with blades?
Fixed blades
Very helpful. Thanks.
👍👍👍
If you have a section of grass which is wilted and dying. Is it OK to throw top soil on it and plant new needs ?
yeah, use the scarifier rake or machine first to get rid of as much of the dead grass and expose some good soil first.
