I use chocolate brown and it's actually pretty dark so I'm guessing the espresso is almost black BUT my hair is shiny and dark brown after. I do have natural brown hair but have used pink and purple overtone before and it does cover that. It also covers my gray but I think some may not have successful results with that depending on te porosity of their hair.

Espresso sucked for me tbh but I had like platinum hair before I used it so that might be why. It turned my hair purple
This shows the color well, I have been thinking of trying it. I did the same in trying the ginger color first and it was wayyy too bright for my taste

Golden brown is what I use but I only leave it for 5 mins because it stains super quickly
