Your hair already has a red base which is why it’s so vibrant I wonder how this looks on untreated medium brown hair
It’s going to pull different on everybody, I’m sure it has a scale on the website for reference:)
i prooomise you if you use their For Brown line, youre going to see rich color! i use the Pink for brown and it's a plum on my hair and i LOVE it. just re did it today nd used only the upkeep daily conditioner and it completely covered my hair. i even just literally wrinsed out the inside of the bottle with water and colored my friend's hair with that watery leftover stuff. it is powerful!
@@marielledelaine great tip!:)
I’m so greatful I found someone with a red base trying this
Red heads dying their hair is a tricky process and no one ever shows it ...
@@DrakesNest u. R. Beautiful!!!
I ordered this after watching your review. I’ve been red for decades and the Overtone is hands down the best color refresher I’ve ever used. 🧡🧡🧡
Wow I’m super impressed with the coverage you got on your darker roots!!!! Convinced me to buy
Just bought the ginger! I'm a dirty blonde naturally but have been professionally coloring my hair demi- perm red for years. Havent gotten to dye it this year so it's fading out bad! I just bought this color to spice up my hair and keep it healthy until I can go back to a salon! :)
So beautiful... that’s you and your gorgeous hair! Loved ur little helper too thanks for the review! ❤️
Thanks for trying and reviewing! Been looking for a product to color my hair that is not harsh!!! Love this color. This is the exact color i wanted too!!
I used the ginger overtone and my root grays ended up colored golden which really helped to blend them in with the rest of the color.
I love my grey hair, so that makes me happy that they might stick around with this!
Omg i LOVE the color you had right before that you called “faded” thats the color I want from brown! Going to go back to watch how you got that hopefully i can stop at that ha
🙏🏻😊 Thank you 👌 been looking the internet for days and days to find a red color this looks amazing 😍 i will go and look at the different options right away.
And many great videos you make thanks for them all 💝
Your hair is gorgeous. I just bought my overtone and can’t wait to use it.
Found your channel because was looking for how to do a French braid. You were the only one who showed how to and I actually learned. I have red hair and looks like a great idea for giving your hair a fresh colored hair look. Thank you just subscribed 💗👍💐
Gladys Najar so glad it helped and that you found my channel:):)
Girlll, that’s straight 🔥 🔥 🔥 Now you made me want to go brighter. I think I’m going to do it this weekend. Thank U 🙂
First off, I reeeeally love your makeup. Your eyeshadow looks beautiful! I've had the same makeup routine since high school (classic millenial) and have been trying to go for a more natural look instead of heavy winged eyeliner and may try out this look!
I've been researching at home hair dyes for the past few weeks and still don't know what to do. I would love to try red but I'm platinum blonde with 4 months of root outgrowth so I'm sure I wouldn't get the results I want. I was thinking of dyeing it more of a light brown or dark blonde (to match my root color) first and then in a month maybe go for red. Idk! I LOVE your red hair though. I've always wanted to try it.
Definitely going to try this!!! Looks beautiful on you!! And your daughter is a beautiful little angel!!
Amanda Hunter thank you!:)
I had dyed my hair for the first time ever the beginning of this year for my job (modeling), and I've wanted to find something to keep the color but not damage it like most dyes. This review is super helpful! Just bought some OverTone and going to try it out this week! Thanks :)
Awesome let me know how it goes:)
It turned out amazing! It was a little orangey the first day, but when I washed it again it was a beautiful ginger color :) definitely going to keep using
So glad you did this video! Finding products reviews for gingers are hard to find. Previously I had a Pravana color depositing conditioner that they no longer make so I’ve been researching what I can use when I finish it up. Things like this are little bottles of miracles for stretching time between appointments! Also, I would love to know what colors are on your eyes and cheeks :)
I did a makeup for redheads afew weeks back I think it’s the same colors:)
It turned out SO perfect on you! You should be on a commercial for them
Thank you!:)
Thank you so much for this video. Just received my ginger today. Your video helped me feel much more confident! You also are pleasant to watch...no stuttering, stammering, or looooong drawn out jibber-jabber lol Also, you look a lot like my sister-in-law :) Gorgeous!
Linda Foley awww thank you!:)
You had a very similar color before to what I have right now and I'm looking to get exactly the same results you had! So hopefully that works for me too 😃
I have always wanted to try red!! It looks beautiful on you! So pretty!
Rachel Gardiner thanks!:) it was a fun change:)
good to know about the overtone, thank you! Your hair looked great, healty.
Nice to see a video where there is a care free attitude to the application, not being worried about splashing it all over your skin or sectioning , refreshing to see
Luvv This video and your hair girl, can you make one showing how you cut or trim it and make sure to wear a cape!
Lol my cape I left at work months ago before everything was closed, sooo don’t have one haha but yes wear one or a towel!:) and that’s great good luck:)👍
Aww my daughter's name is Isla as well 💜
Love your hair!
Absolutely gorgeous results! 😍
Thanks:)
Wow I cannot believe how red your roots turned out when they were so dark in the before....without lightening or developer of any kind.
I understand the entire head getting "refreshed" but how did it redden your roots without peroxide over brown? Beautiful results, thanks for sharing! 💗🙏🌺
You're eyeshadow color is soooo pretty! 😍
I am a natural burnette with natural highlights! I have been looking at overtone and keracolor to go ginger, but was too scared that it would be too bright or too overwhelmingly orange. Do you think overtone or keracolor would be good for a darker haired girl that isnt a blackish brown but isnt a dirty blonde?
Am a guy with long hair reaching my lower chest and today am getting a really similar colour or this exactly, wish me luck
You are so freaking beautiful!!!!!!!
loved this video and that color!!! I was wondering how it will work since I’m tempted to try red again! Omg! 🙌
New subscriber! ❤️
Thank you!:):)
umm ok. you are gorgeous! that color looks sooo good on you with your skin tone and eye color.
Thank you!:) I did love that color:) I’m back to my usual blonde tho haha red was soooo fun but way to high maintence for me hehehe
Beautiful! I need to check out this product.
WOW!!!!! You look ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!!!
I’VE ALWAYS BEEN A SUCKER FOR A RED HEAD!!!! ❤️👩🏼🦰
This is exactly what i was looking for thank you
Omg this color looks so pretty
nicole tan thanks:)
About to try Overtone, and I needed a little hand holding. Thanks for this!
It worked well. Unfortunately, no one told me it was mint scented! Guess who's allergic to mint... I will be OK, I didn't ingest it (obviously!), but I'm gonna have a helluva headache.
@@amethyst42 did it fade well? :)
I just watched your video and I love the color!! I just dyed my hair a dark red brown and I was wondering if I should use overtone or dp hue and what would be your recommendation on color?
I looks amazing on you!! I’m a natural ginger, but I lost some of my natural bright ginger colour since I move to the north and I have less sun up hear. I’m been looking for a product that gives a little bit of help without damaging it because I never dye it before. I don’t want any bleaching or nothing that damage it. Do you have any thoughts? Do you think that it is gentle enough?
Hi! I know you posted this a year ago, but I was wondering would this be okay to use on Auburn hair or will it make it Orangey?
Great job! I love your littele one in the background lol
So if I have blonde and want to use this color I should fill it first ?🙃
Do you have one for keracolor? I recently had my hair dyed with permanent hair dye and I had a bad reaction on my ears. So, I don’t think I can dye my hair anymore but my roots and showing and I love my current copper hair color 😫
Should I not use overtone if I have brown hair with blonde highlights? Like will it mess up my highlights?
Cool and so helpful tip for gingers thanks a lott. As being a natural ginger, would you recommend this in order to get a vibrant tone for me because my hair is darker in compare with previous years
Yea it would make anybody’s color more vibrant for sure:)
I really wanted to try this but can't get it in Australia.
I know this is an old video, but you could get a cheap mannequin with a wig to show us tips on bangs. I have the "cow's lick" thing just in the middle of my bangs and I cut them on myself and oh my! terrible decision! :)) I also made them too think (made the triangle huge!) so I'd love to hear some tricks on that, how to model it so it grows out prettier. or show us some hairstyles on how to kinda hide the thickness. 💕
p. s. the color is gorgeous on you, but I can't overtone in my country. :( about the goldwell, how often do you have to use it? and do you use it on natural hair or bleached?
We’re can I purchase this colour from please. X
HI there! I recently got balayage done and my stylist glossed my hair with some orange tones which I loved. I use overtone previously and was wondering how do I keep this color that I love so much. Since I am a brunette, should I mix the ginger and brown conditioner together so its not as bright orange and/or should I dilute the mixture at all? Thanks and looking forward to the advice!
I’m not an overtone expert so I do t want to give you the wrong advice and it be to bright. Have u tried a copper shampoo?
Hi! What colour did you have on your hair originally, a product or your natural colour? I'm a mousy dark blonde/light brown and would love to get my hair to start like your start colour!
Do you need to use the conditioner when you wash your hair? I love how your hair looks 😊
That looks gorgeous, I would say it definitely works better on darker hair though. I ended up with bright pumpkin orange ends and a orangey brown on top after doing mine but my ends were a medium/dark blonde and medium brown roots that had grown out about 4-5 inches so the color was noticably different.
Samantha thank you:) yes absolutely if you have any blonde on your hair it’s going to come out very bright, that’s why I always recommend strand testing...if your “hair” canvas is uneven then a semi permanent toner color will probably not be the best option. I’m sorry it didn’t turn out as expected:/ definitely strand test next time!:)
Hola eh visto el vídeo del tinte rojo pero como están inglés la verdad no le entiendo y no sé cómo se llama si me puedes decir cómo se llama la pintura y dónde la puedo conseguir gracias
I absolutely love this color!! I just dyed my hair early December and I’ve been using a copper Keracolor Hair Dye Semi Permanent Hair Color Depositing Conditioner similar to what you used. How often do you do you use semi permanent hair toner to make the copper last? I don’t want to over do it and cause damage to my hair.
Does the keracolor cover your roots? I got my hair professionally dyed but I had a reaction from the dye on my ears. I don’t think I’ll dye my hair again but I got permanent hair dye and I want something to maintain it
Which was better, Overtone or Joico?
how long did it take for the product to arrive ?
My hair is a level 5 and I would like to go copper. I was thinking about doing a bleach bath and then toning it, do you have any recommendations? I could not find a tutorial or tipps by a hairdresser which seems to know a lot about red/copper hair. Thank you so much in advance ☺️
I came here looking for answers on exactly this too! 😅
Question: so I have a grown out ombré, if I use overtime will it be two different colors since the top of my hair is darker?
Yes:)
I love it. Thanks for your video. So, how many washes that color is gone?
Maria del pilar Rodriguez it’s hard to tell bc I was red to start haha but it just kind of gradually faded out. It also depends on how often u shampoo
Wow so pretty I love this color would this work on level 5/6 hair color you think
Yes of course it would just be darker and richer:)
You are gorgeous and this review was helpful thank you!
Phoenix Blood so glad it helped:)
My natural hair is exactly like the before but my problem is half of it is bleached. How would I get it all to be copper without chopping off the bleached blonde
The bleached part needs to be filled first:)
Do you think this would really do much for darker brown virgin hair? The ends of my hair are lighter and definitely red toned, but since it's been so long since I've had my hair colored professionally it has grown out so I kind of have this brown to auburn ombre going on.
I just got my first batch of overtone but haven't used it yet. I am doing Orange for Brown hair. I have some highlights so I am hoping it will be dimensional mixed with my natural dark.
Omg, I loved it 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks:)
This is stunning 😍
Thank you:)
I have highlighted blonde hair and want to get a brown shade. Will it ruin my highlights in the long run even after rinsed out?
Hi, I've used several shades of overtone and I love what it does to my highlights. I go back to the salon when I've got a significant amount of regrowth (6-8 months) but keep my color fresh with the overtone without losing the dimension in the meantime. I don't work for them but I should! Haha! I tell all my friends 😂
This color suits you soooooo much.
Thank you! I loved it too, but I didn’t love the maintenance haha
when you say on gray hair are you reffering to white hair? i hve used lots of hairdyes and no trouble coloring my white parts,is this more difficult> or are you just reffering to resistant gray? i know sallys has bottles of resistant gray, thanks
Everybody Is diff but white or grey hair in general doesn’t cover fully with semi permanent color. But if yours does that’s great! :)
so i bought this! and have blonde hair, but when this eventually “fades” or “washes out” will my hair still be blonde again?
It really depends on your hair and porosity, the color will fade out but with one this vibrant it probably won’t completely fade out with shampoo alone
Is there a similar project that would work on dark brown hair? They have a red for dark hair, but it looks super vivid red and not ginger.
If you put this on any level hair it will stain your hair to a ginger tint, darker hair will not be as vibrant as lighter tho:) I believe there is a chart on their website:)
Do you think this would look good on 9/10 level hair or would it look weird since my hair is so light
It wouldn’t look bad it would just be very vibrant. Check the chart in the site and def do a strand test to be sure:)
Since it's semi permanent.will the roots be different then the length then??? Or we'll juste get back our natural color????
It will pull different on ur roots if it’s a significantly different color then ur ends
I’m dying my hair with L’Oréal hi color hilights, my hair is two colors, natural medium to dark brown roots and then like a dark auburn ends. I’m using a protein filler before I dye it to make sure I get an even color application. I had a few questions. My hair dye says leave the color on the ends 5-10 minutes and then the protein filler says to mix it into the dye after I do my roots, then leave the color on the ends for 20 minutes. Should I do that? Also do you think this would help me maintain the ginger color if I use it after my hair starts to fade?
Shannon Diamond I’m not familiar with their box color so I don’t want to give bad advice and I haven’t used that protein filler. I imagine it be fine leaving it on 20 minutes on the ends if it’s regular color...but again idk exactly what ur using so I can’t say. Keep us posted:)
Drakes Nest I’ve decided I’ll apply it on my hair before I dye it but once I do it I’ll let you know how it turns out
Drakes Nest didn’t really do much to my hair, but it came out very vibrant
Awesome video thank you!!!
What goldwell product do you use? I absolutely love it!
Susan Ciborowski thank you! Afew videos back I did a video all about my hair color and shared my formula;)
I have dark hair with red highlights. Would I be able to use this to give my highlights a boost. My hair is dark brown with red highlights I'm just looking to boost up the highlights??? What do you think?
It will def come out lighter and brighter on your brighter pieces:)
She is so pretty like wow 🥺🥺
Thank you:)
How well did this wash out for you? i’ve been colouring my hair regularly for YEARS. I have always used fashion colors such as manic panic, arctic fox, Overtone then reached out to send me a PR package I loved ALL their colors but the Ginger shade will NOT come out of my hair - coming up on 5 months! i have used lighteners, clarifying shampoos, at home methods for dye removal, it’s still orange, i’ve put BLACK dye over it, blues, purples, but as soon as they fade: orange! it won’t stop being orange. i’ve never had this issue with another fashion colour. it was blonde underneath and i was always pink but switching to Ginger made it so i can’t get my pink back because the orange won’t leave. :(
Red is one of the hardest colors to get rid of especially if u put it on over a light color....and whenever you try to lift black you will get orange regardless of what was under it. I just ended up toning it with an ash level 7 afew times and then doing a full hilite....I’m still golden but I’m giving it a break for now...I just continue with ash shampoos....and if you wanted u could hilite it again...eventually it would all come out
If you have black now I would do a full head hi light....do an ash toner...then wait afew weeks for the same thing... and keep doing that giving your hair a break in between not to damage too much. Olaplex helps a lot too
I loved this video thank you for your review! Are you wearing blush? If so what one?
ua-cam.com/video/_lQlTOZn6do/v-deo.html these are all the makeup products I’ve been using:)
Drakes Nest lol thanks! I literally watched that at 3am cuz I couldn’t sleep! And I am gonna get wine blush by fit me! You’re so gorgeous and enjoyable to watch lady
Angela Moore 😊 thanks:) gotta love a good blush;)
Okay but can you share what color your hair was before you added this in!? I lovvvve the “faded” color too. 😍
girlgonerad thanks:) I actually did a video all about my red color and the formula I used hopefully that helps:)
did you shampoo after applying this? wondering how it didnt come out greasy. I got a wella colour depositing mask which made my roots so greasy when i used it all over my head and scalp that now I only use it on my lengths (after already shampooing), which means my regrowth seems even more obvious.... :(((
I didn’t but also I’m didn’t notice it being greasy. You have to make sure you really rinse well and massage your scalp to get all the color out:)
Okg amazing video thank you!!!!!
Wow it covered your roots!!
So pretty!!!
Cassie Ussery thanks!:)
I used to use Overtone when I had green hair and it was amazing for keeping up the colour (with the general conditioner).
I've recently grown out my natural ginger and may pick this up to give it a little colour boost.
Yea try it!:)
Does it stain the hair
Hi!!! My hair is copper color, will this help it maintain that copper color?
Yea this was a very orange/copper red:) def Do a test strip first to make sure you like it!:)
Can you list your cheek and eyeshadow color worn in this vid? It’s beautiful on your cool skin tone!
Thank you:) I have a video on makeup for red hair:)
You have beautiful hair! Question: before using the Overtone, what color did you have on your hair?
I used overtone to enhance my red hair...I was originally a hilited blonde but properly filled and dyed my hair red in salon....overtone I used after it faded:)
I’ve scoured the comments and can’t find an answer for my question- Do you think there is a good way to dilute overtone? I have light brown/dark blonde hair. I am wanting more of a gingery/copper tint in my hair rather than a full head of ginger hair. I’ve also been looking into red hair refresher shampoos+conditioners, I’m thinking maybe that would deposit a bit of color but wouldn’t be so intense.
Yea I’m sure you could mix it into regular conditioner and it may give you a tinge of color.maybe do a test piece first to make sure ur ok with the color first
I’m a dark brown blond like a 7 level will this work?
Yes but remember the brightness is diff depending on the level you start with:) I’m sure the website has a chart:)
if i use this on silver bleach blonde hair will it stain my hair ?
Yes be careful bc bleached out hair can be super super porous and it can be super vibrant. Make sure to check the chart on website to make sure you like it before hand:)
Does this bleed like crazy though. Every wash out I use bleeds all over the place
I didn’t notice extreme bleeding of the color
Which Hair shade???
I have my hair colored professionally but it is close to my natural hair color. I mainly do it to cover my greys. You mentioned in the video that you would probably not recommend this product for that purpose.
In light of the current COVID-19 situation, what product would you recommend to use at home? I have a brown with reddish undertones in color. Mind you, I have never colored my hair at home before but my hair is in desperate need of something. It has not been touched (cut, color, etc) since March 7th.
julia saenz it’s hard for me to recommend something bc I myself work with professional color and have never used a box dye so I don’t want to make a bad recommendation...I’ve seen a company called Madison reed that supposed to formulated for you and I’ve heard decent things. But I haven’t personally used or tried them before:)
@@DrakesNest Thanks so much. I will check it out
I have salon black dye in my hair and know if I bleach it it will be ginger/copper so I’ve been thinking about mayyyyybe going copper and using Overtone to maintain. My roots are a natural 6/7 golden yet mousy light brown so I’m hoping I won’t need bleach to maintain it. Even if it’s auburn-y I’ll be happy 😂
Just be careful on ur roots when lightening... if ur roots r ur natural it will lighten quicker n brighter then the ends. Copper is fun! Good luck:)
What was your hair colour before you put this colour on? Was it mousey brown naturally, or did you dye it ginger first over blonde? Ty
I think I mentioned it in the video my hair was already colored red it was very faded my natural color is a dark blonde to light brown and it’s that mousey neutral brown color
QUESTION ⚠️ @literally anyone who has experience with overtone... I am natural blonde that has been bleached lighter, I want to do overtone (either chocolate or espresso) and I want to know if any one suggest me “filling” with an orange/ginger before the dark stuff!
Dani Witham you absolutely need your hair filed... I’ve never used their products for that purpose. I’d always recommend going to a professional for big changes but if you decide to do it make sure to do a strand test:)
When you rinsed did you just rinse with water or did you shampoo or condition at all?
I’ve never used it but I think you should just rinse with water. As with most semi-permanent dyes.
Are they found in stores in Arab countries?Dear, what is the name of the color ?
