DO NOT USE THESE ON YOUR HAIR UNLESS YOU WANT IT FOREVER. I’ve had this for about a month now and it stained my hair SO bad and it won’t come out! It is a very beautiful color but it never comes out 🤎😭
Still dealing with it a year later myself (and it pulls super yellow and green when I try to bleach or color over it 😭)
Thanks for the advise zx
Oh wow I guess it depends what color you put it over, I used overtone espresso over bright red hair and it came out in like two washes, I used up the two tubs I bought then switched to something else because it would not stay in my hair at all
Thank you for trying this I used Maria Nila in brown and dark brown and they washed out really nice and I was able to go back to blond but they're kind of expensive and hard to get where I live now, so I was hoping overtone would be an alternative but was to scared to try it so thank you for saving me from making a bad decision really appreciate you risking your hair for us.
I think if you have all your hair bleached out to white and use overtone it will last for a long time because bleached hair is very coarse and soaks up color deeper in the strands compared to non bleached hair! Overall the color is beautiful!
My hair stylist (a blonde expert) told me she no longer takes clients who have ever used overtone because it’s so impossible for even a hair magician like her to remove 😭
Aislinn does rainbow or fun colour hair: not surprised in the least
Aislinn does brown hair: what?!?!
Overtone has a fading shampoo that works really well with fading their colors.
I feel like no one is talking about your eye makeup and it is STUNNING I have been looking at it the whole video!!! The beautiful brown on the outside, the rainbow prism effect, I am obsessed!!
She has a tutorial on it! So pretty 🥰
That is an awesome eye look! Crazy beautiful!
Can someone link the eyeshadow tutorial? I’ve searched her channel. I searched program and just the word makeup and the word eyeshadow. Help please
Ugh years ago I remember paying $40 for two tiny bottles of overtone - it managed to stain my hands and scalp, but not my hair! I left a review and CS reached out and told me I must have used it wrong. They've expanded so much since then, and a lot of their products look interesting, but I'm still bitter and refuse to buy from them lol. But it is interesting to see how the natural colors perform!
Oh wow unexpected crossover from costube! Right on!
I really hated overtone when I used it. It was so sticky I couldn’t get it to saturate my hair.
That was probably a blessing in disguise tbh
Oh no, be careful when you are trying to remove this later. I've had clients that used Overtone at home and had intense chemical reactions in the salon, even many months after using it. I don't know what they put in this stuff but it has been a real pain to try and get rid of.
Have you got any tips on getting blue staining out, its stuck in a specific block in the middle of my hair, its lifted from my roots and ends and stayed in the middle
I’ve seen hairdressers compare overtone to fabric dye. They really hate this product because they find that it doesn’t come out and if it does, it’s difficult.
it seems like their strong spearmint scent is hiding something🥴
I've used overtone golden brown and vibrant pink on my hair and it came very easily using the overtone fading shampoo. I've used permanent hair dye since then and had absolutely no problems.
@@francescalace3254 I got blue staining out by putting purple over it!! When I removed the purple, the blue was gone! 👍
I'm glad you tried them, but the issue with removing is why I haven't tried them. I saw a video a while ago where someone compared it to carpet dye an that terrified me
As a stylist, before I quit, I always advocated AGAINST this product and SPLAT if my clients asked. They’re basically fabric dye and they’re the devil to try to get out of hair. If SPLAT was involved, I outright refused to bleach the hair because I learned by experience that it didn’t lift out. 😭
If they wanted to, I’d go darker on them but I’d let them know if they bleached it that the SPLAT was still in there.
Do u have any opinion on Lush Hennah? Stylists wouldn't touch it while it was growing out on me, which is totally understandable, but I found it dyed darker with box dye with no issue and when it was grown out for about 2 years I did highlights with no issue. Just curious bc stylists shy away from Hennah.
@@bashmeesh Personally I never messed with henna either. It doesn’t exactly penetrate the hair very well, but rather coats it instead. I did have a client who had henna and didn’t care if she had to shave her head in the end, but she wanted me to bleach it.
It was a wild ride for sure. Some parts lifted, some parts didn’t, and some parts just straight up melted. I only used a 6% (20 volume) to do test strands and I refused to bleach her whole head. Sometimes you get lucky, which I think is your case when you got your highlights done and it lifted, but if it were me I wouldn’t push my luck. 😭
For henna, I recommend just growing it and cutting it off. After about 18-20 months you can get a cute a-line bob or asymmetrical bob to cut off all the henna if that’s your style. Henna is just VERY finicky. 💖
Red splat is a choice you don't get to go back on
@@slimypeach thanks for your answer I appreciate hearing about your experience working with it. Sounds reasonable. 🙂
I have never seen rainbow eyeshadow blended with brown before and it looks sooo pretty !!!
I’ve used the overtone magenta and red shades and they were pretty easy to apply and saturate. I found the black and chocolate Brown to be a little thicker. This result on your hair looks FAB btw.
I just saw your Instagram story asking how to remove Overtone Brown and I was like WTF, Aislinn went Brown!! Then this video popped up! Never thought I would see you do brown.
I think it would be a good idea to see you do a shadow root, specially now that you're not gonna bleach your roots for some time. You could melt them into the rest of your blonde hair :)
I would but I don’t want to put anything on my hair that will alter my natural color at the roots 🤎
Oddly enough, this might be your video that’s most useful to me. I have naturally ash brown hair (which washes me out) but near white at the crown. I do dye my hair closer to medium brown when covering the grey. This would actually help as far as me dealing with root growth in the areas which are closer to white.
I have pink hair. When I first went pink over 6 years ago ish, I use overtone first. The smell was decent and I didn't mind it, but I thought it was over priced, but kept using it. Fast forward about 6 or 7 months into using it, I discovered at sally's their ION line of color conditoners to add to your own condioner. SO MUCH CHEAPER! I already used their shampoo and condioner, and would use the overtone every few days. I have been using that method for years now! I get compliments all the time about my hair!
i use the Ion color depositing masks, too!!!! i just redye over my blue and they're like half the price but make my hair feel lovely! and the color lasts just as long, especially if you redye it a few times!!!
@@yeoinbird yes! It's seriously the best! ❤️
@@yeoinbird Sally’s Sky Blue is magic! I’ve never gotten more compliments on my hair (like stopped on the street by passerby!) as I did with that blue. When it’s fresh it looks like it’s radioactive or something! I sometimes cheat on it with other colours, but I always go back.
I've heard overtone is really rough on the hair, some hair stylists reaaaallly recommend against it. Like a very intense stain, basically fabric dye strength.
Wish I would have known 😂
@@AkaAislinn Yeah I only knew because I heard someone say the fabric dye thing once and wanted to fact check it because it seemed like an exaggeration but from what I read from stylists a lot don't like it.
@@liv1639 if you scroll the comment section, you can see former hairdressers or current hairdressers, even some other people using it at home say overtone is the devil and to stay away from it. From what they’ve said, it’s like an overpriced splat box dye.
Adore is so much better and so much cheaper!! I’ve been using it for years even slept in it once and had fabulous results! Definitely recommend 1000/10 🥰 but I do love how your hair turned out!
That brown is insanely beautiful!!! I love how affected you were at the end by the result and the nostalgia!!! It is SOOOO PRETTY!!!! I'm so obsessed with your never ending hair journey, so addicted to this channel
i think it's hilarious you posted this video! I'm a "dirty dish water ashy blonde" too and I'm going brunette next week lol. it's been 11 years since i've been a brunette, but I'm ready for a change! thanks for the heads up on Overtone, I'll definitely use a regular semi-perm instead!
I used to use overtone exclusively….the greens and turquoise I had trouble even bleaching out! I did enjoy the browns over root areas just to make them warmer.
I went brown 3 months ago and managed to find a light colour. It matches my roots (my natural colours like yours) and I don't need to redye. My hair growth from steroid falling out and immunotherapy has grown about 3 inches eeeekkkk.. had a huge cut and by next Feb/March I should have a head of proper hair. I miss the blonde and mad colours sooooooo much but after lossing half a head of hair, I darent touch it xxx yours always looks so cool x
To misquote Mean Girls… I saw Aislinn dye her hair brown. Now I want to dye my hair brown.
i never thought i’d see the day! i like how your hair faded and and hype to see how this turns out
I love your rainbow hair but WOW you make that brown look good too!!
I’m so excited to see the results!! I use Overtone a lot now since I previously fried my hair with box dye. Bleach baths and color depositing conditions have greatly improved the look and health of my hair!
Oohh yes!! I've been waiting for this review! I've been using the dark blue on my hair for over a year now and I love how it fades!! It's honestly my favourite dye!!
never thought i’d see you dye your hair a natural color, what is this world coming to!?
Holy smokes that eye look is amazing!! So neat and tidy, perfect pastels and a great shape to compliment your eyes
Did you see Snooki's supernatural colors, they have one called tigers eye I'm so curious to see what it looks like!
Yes!! I have them and might use them if I can’t get this color out 😭
I bought that one to try and punch up my natural auburn hair. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Whaaatt snookers has hair dye out?! Cool I wanna check it out, thanks for leaving this comment! 💜💜💜
I've never heard of it
@@ambam1182 yeah they really haven't really advertised their natural line. Honestly not even sure how I came across it originally.
Wow🤩 I am obsessed too! It looks so good! And as much as I like your green eyes I think your brown eyes will be absolutely gorgeous with this color! 🤗
Loving the overtone and blonde on your atm. I definitely love colour but this is so chilled.. so relaxed a feel. Its suiting the times
I absolutely Love it, the tone turned out so good… Can’t wait to see what you do next!!
I just bought overtone espresso during their black friday sale, and this is going to be my 3rd time using their dyes. definitely mixing it with conditioner and kisstintations to make the mixture thinner! (I really am just getting overtone to get another one of their containers since i threw the first one away without thinking about it)
Cute hun! I am excited to see the rainbow under it but I’m glad you’re vibingggg
Omg I love this hair on you!!! The rainbow on the blonde pieces will be so good too. Love your videos!
I love how the foils matched your eyeshadows! 🥰
Ive used overtone for 2-3 years now and never had a problem removing it. Baking soda works fine, vitamin c works fine, even just clarifying shampoo 4-5 times works well too. Never used their brown tho… maybe it’s easier to remove brights and pastels..
Aww you had the cutest Lil scene hair in high school! Love the way this turned out, the contrast is beautiful ❤️
I love around @25:00 the little bit of your natural roots that you can see just look like a shadow root that is supposed to be there on purpose lol 🙌 it’s gorgeous!! I love how it’s like a throwback to your high school colors you loved. 😂🥰
I have actually been wanting to do this for a while and couldn't find any helpful reviews so THANK YOUUU
she always good at any hair colour !!
Thank you 🖤
OMG!!!!! i freaking love it!😍🤎💛
Love your hair. It's giving me early 2000's vibes and I'm here for it.
🥺💕🥰 I love it and I love how much you love it!!
I was not expecting that result 😯 you look amazing 🥰 your hair it's so beautiful 🥰💖🙏🏻 I love it 🤗
Thank you so much for everything you do! Your videos inspired me to just bite the bullet n bleach n dye my own hair n.......OMG am I obsessed now! Love you
Also happy holidays everyone ❤
The final result looks smooth goddaing cuuuteee
Girl please please keep it! I love your rainbow hair but this is so pretty!!
I absolutely love your eye makeup. So pretty!!!
Sooooo happy you posted this because I literally almost just ruined my blonde with a permanent brown
Nevermind I saw your COMMENT 😭😭😭
Your makeup is stunning!! 😍😍
Aislinn i love that u decided to upload so much hope you’re not overworked ❤️❤️
YOU HAVE MY HAIR!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍 I have the under part purple ATM but OMG!!! YAY!!! I LOVE IT!
I love your hair! What a beautiful colour 😍
Thank you for the inspiration. My daughter wants my hair brown but I'll miss the white. This gave me ideas :)
Omg it looks soooooooo good
The brown rainbow makeup is life
Oooo! I love your videos they make my day so much better ❤️
It looks so great!😍
Every time....stunning results😭🥰
i can’t get over how pretty you look at the clip w no makeup omg 😭 you have the prettiest face
My hair looks like this right now and I’m lovingggg it! I have a warm chocolate brown with bright blonde only near my face.
Yess I've been wanting to dye my hair brown too!
I’ve been waiting on video! I need color inspiration! 💜 I need to dye my hair
Stunningggggggggg! Takes me back to the good old emo days 👏🏻💖
This looks absolutely stunning on you!!!
Also wondering what you did with the pre-mixed rainbow colors. How do you store them for later use?
This looks really cool! I bet it would look great in braids. I just recently blended my ashy roots into the rest of my hair as well. I used Clairol Beautiful Collection Semi Permanent in the color Chai Brown and watered it down--it worked great over my bleached hair but my hair probably could have used a tiny bit of warm filler first. I have also used Adore before and it's a nice consistency. I wasn't able to get my hands on a cooler shade with Adore so I used Honey Brown a few months ago, which is a pretty color, though very very warm.
When i heard u werent sure wether to use adore or overtone, but decided to do overtone, i was sooo sad. I am thinking about going brown to, but i already use adore and like their brown/blondish shades, so it would have been perfect, if u tried it :) especially because so many are talking about how they never got rid of the overtone.
This is like a rogue from xman, E girl moment and I love it. That feeling of nostalgia is priceless! I think you should have fun with all shades. Don't feel pressured to always do vibrant colors!
LOVE the brown on you!
I needed this rn😭😍
That's MY dream brown color, too!!
had to stop watching video before I was done watching it to tell you how beautiful your makeup is today. I love what you did with your eyes today!
I'm a huge fan of overtone pastels. I have bleached silver hair and I love to use it for a pop of color, and it washes out no issues. The texture is nice, I love the smell, and it's conditioning for me. Maybe their formula is different for naturals?
The naturals are different. I've used red and orange and the colors would wash or bleach out fine. Then I used ginger from the natural line and I can't get it out of my hair so I went back to deep red to cover it.
I am like I minute into the video and I had to say, your eye make up is PHENOMENAL 💕 omg
you look amazing with the brown
You are so freaking beautiful girl!! Even without that amazing makeup.❤️🌟✨
I saw your Instagram asking how to get brown out and I was SHOCKED and RAN to this video 😂
I have anosmia (no sense of smell) and the only thing I can sort of smell is very strong mint/eucalyptus.
I love love loooove your makeup
YOU LOOK AMAZINNGGGG and I love that shade of brown on you. tbh Overtone is my go-to and I've been using their red-for-brown for years & it Slaps. it is a super thicc formula tho I'm glad that you watered it down. for someone like you who enjoys switching their hair up all the time though I worry that overtone's Staying Power might be a bad thing 👀
I love overtone and it’s the only dye I’ll ever use again. That being said- some colours stain really badly depending on whether your hair is natural or bleached. All the colours I’ve had I’ve used on my natural hair and bleached hair. Fades out quickly on natural hair and stains for months on bleached hair.
Love love love it!!
Just what i wanted now ❤💛💚💙💜✨✨ looking beautiful as allways
ohh NICE!! I was wondering what overtone natural colors looked like, am considering using it on my ends cause ive been growing my hair out quite a lot
Yasss actually so happy but this is the icing to happiness z
Perfect timing, I just got the Adore in darkest brown! I am a natural level 5,So I wanted to try it out on my platinum hair, But may leave some money pieces out, Or just do it one solid color to help blend in my undercut I'm trying to grow out 😬 I can't decide what to do!? But I really appreciate this video,as always 🤎 Thanks Girl!!
Yours turned out Great😊
Be careful, my hair is a natural level 5 but was bleached pretty platinum from doing fashion colors. Wanted to go back dark brown, got that exact adore color, and it turned mud black/green/gray. Super werid bad color
Love it great hair color for people that want it to stay
I'm a mousey brown naturally. I'm pretty sure I've tried every shade of brown from Napro Palette (the best to cover greys). I tried golden brown.. it turned out ginger! Not what I wanted. But I went over it with natural light brown a couple weeks later and it was the perfect shade for me 😁 So when you said Golden brown... I was worried!
You are so freakin talented! You are also so pretty you could wear any color! BTW the neck tattoo looks awesome.
Sunflower vibes 🌻
I used the Overtone pink and it was nice. I could do 3 touch up with a big container my hair was down to my shoulder and pretty thick. It’s a big container!! 😂
I just dyed my hair exactly the same about 2 weeks before this video. I really love it.
I would be intrigued on the Manic Panic Supernatural colors if you decide to play with those.
I'm very interested to see what happens when you remove this. I've heard it was practically impossible to do.
Ughhh I can sooo see you with chunky highlights with this brown !!
I used golden brown and chocolate brown on my highlights. In about 4 washes I had gingerlights that did not wash out.
nice color when the dark brown color was rinsed again when she had her front part if the toned and she have great hair and alot of it
Yes I love this look on you.
I love Overtone. I’ve used the purple for brown and its super vibrant. Currently I did try the Ginger and ..not my fave. Its too orange and faded turned yellow. Its extremely hard to fade away. Am going to try to use the espresso next time.
