The worst thing is she killed two people who were walking home from the same bar as her. They were being smart safe adults unlike her driving while drunk. God this is horrible
Wow the way you just put that in perspective really makes it hit hard. Life isn't fair but I do believe in karma she has something coming ten fold. And I'd like to think the people walking went straight to heaven just for the simple fact they were walking as to avoid driving intoxicated speaks volumes to the character of them. It just makes you wonder had they called an uber would they still be here. Lastly if I was a bar owner I would have a bus at my establishment to shuttle home locals obviously for either a nightly fee or if your a consistent patron there would be a monthly option available that would save them money as opposed to a nightly onetime fee. Just an idea I think it would be a valuable asset even if you break even on the bus you make your money at the bar a d your protecting your patrons at the same time and community's tend to appreciate things like this from small business owners. I mean who wants a tragedy. Me personally I'd rather birthday parts and celebrations as opposed to anything with negative energy.
@@Mrdestiny17 “survivor” here & for whatever it’s worth I think we live to regret it-every day ☺️ no one was hurt but me but its the possibilities. So many others could have been hurt. I prob shouldn’t be alive, let alone physically unscathed. Testimony 🙏🏾♥️
One of the saddest things I've seen in jail is, when I was in the drunk tank with this guy. He was charged with vehicular homicide. He didn't remember a thing. Turns out, he ran over his brother in front of his family out of anger. He genuinely didn't remember anything. He would cry everyday. His family disowned him while he was grieving his brother. Whenever I feel like my life is bad, I think of that guy.
Jesus fucking Christ. That almost makes me wonder if he should even be punished. If he doesn't remember it, doesn't that defeat the purpose? EDIT: I should clarify that YES, I do believe he should be punished. I was merely positing an argument over how moral culpability changes (or doesn't change) based on someone's mental state. For everyone calling me a criminal apologist or a murder sympathizer, I'd highly recommend looking up the insanity plea, as it is an example of how THE COURT SYSTEM takes someone's mental state into consideration. I am aware it doesn't account for intoxication, but the precedent is there.
@@mudnarchist yea he should be punished. "I can't remember" isn't an excuse. Dude took a life. Doesn't matter if he doesn't remember doing it. With your logic, all criminals will use 'I can't remember so let me go please"
That's insane. That's why I don't use the term "rock bottom," cause it could always get worse. And I hope you straightened your life out since your time. What'd you do and how long were you in?
And that's a hard one. I've been in jail with young beautiful girls that were in there for DUI murder and it's rough seeing 20 somethings know that they're about to go away for years. But his own brother? Man man. Wonder if he took his own life or what happened. How much time, if he's out. That's f#cked
This reminds me of the woman who hit and killed my best friend almost a decade ago. She was drunk and driving, he was walking home from the bar - she hit him, and took off. Her mother turned her in after noticing dents on her car and then hearing about a hit and run on the news, and that the car used - matched her daughters. She only received 5 years, barely served a portion of it. His name was Patrick Duff. He was incredibly smart, generous to his friends and was always there when you needed him. And I still think about him all the time.
I hope Patrick is resting peacefully. So tragic, such a waste of a young life. Makes me think of a good friend from High School. She was at a bar.. as was a young man. He left on a bike. She in a vehicle. A few moments later she plowed him down at the intersection when she ran a red light. Killed him. Ruined the best years of her life and took his. Also makes me think of my parents friend, when I was about 11.. my step dad's best friend was over on a Sunday like always drinking & watching the race. They got into over something absolutely stupid. For no reason. He left drunk walking home on a dark winding road.. and can you believe a drunk driver hit & killed him. I still think of him & what unnecessary chain of events that was today at 39. About 10 years ago my step dad killed himself. It wasn't the cause, but he spent the rest of his life blaming himself for Norman's death.
Before I got my learner's permit, my mother sat me down and said, "If you're ever in an accident, and someone gets hurt, whether it was your fault or not you'll never get over that. You'll live with it for the rest of your life." She wanted me to understand the tremendous responsibility you have whenever you get behind the wheel of a car. That was 55 years ago, and I still think it's the best advice I was ever given in my 70 years of life.
My partner was in an incident years ago. He was driving and a drunk woman ran out between cars and into his truck. City centre, middle of the day, he was only going 20 kms an hour, one red light to the next. He’d never been in an accident before. He stops, shes in a crumpled heap on the road and he started crying and called 911. Cops come, medics take her, there’s video showing she ran out without looking, witnesses say the same, cops kept him there (they’d dealt with her before and knew her by name). He did multiple sobriety tests and passed them all. They never charged him, right on the scene it was determined he was not at fault. She was treated and released from hospital the next day with minor injuries. He had to park his truck and call for a ride cuz he was so rattled. Hes a construction worker, the guys guy type of man, and he was a wreck. He couldn’t drive for awhile. It’s been years and he still gets pale when the subject arises and he’s said many times if he ever hit another person he’d never drive again. Your fault or not, the sound of someone’s body getting smashed into your vehicle will stay with you.
I taught my husband to drive and my first piece of advice was to drive like all other drivers are idiots and all pedestrians are suicidal. He said it has saved his bacon so many times because he always prepares for the worst outcome, like drivers changing lanes without indicating, people walking into the road with their nose in their phone and so forth. Neither of us ever, ever, ever drink and drive and have never received a fine, ticket or penalty points. The consequences are just too severe to take chances when you're operating a ton of metal at high velocity.
@@jamiecampbell7446Thank you! My mother died many years ago, but I still think of her advice every time I turn the key to start my car. By sharing her words, I can keep a little bit of her alive.
To everyone in this comment thread, thank you for sharing your stories. I've never had any tickets, but been in 2 accidents that were not my fault. The one accident that stays with me the most was when I was coming up to an intersection and the light had just turned green as I got up to it, traveling in the right lane. The left lane had a line of traffic because they were turning right and there's no right on red at this particular intersection. As I was almost at the intersection, I get hit so hard on the passenger side and pushed into the opposite side of the road onto the tree line. How do you get T-boned when you're traveling next to a line of stopped cars, you ask? Well, an Expedition was letting a woman out of the gas station parking lot to take a left across our two lanes and she couldn't see around them and just because they stopped to let her go, she went, like a bat out of hell cause she knew the traffic was going to start coming from her right and wanted to beat it. She tried telling the officers it was my fault and I was speeding. 😳 I was so dazed like I remember going forward, then I'm stopped looking at a bunch of trees! 🌲🌳 A few things my father always told me is don't pull out unless you can see EVERYTHING, don't be someone else's eyes for them, and even though it's a nice gesture, don't let someone pull out in front of you UNLESS they are going into YOUR lane because you know you're not going to hit them. I didn't get hurt bad but rattled enough that my car was totaled and I was out of work for a month. It just really sucks that there's those of us who make sure we are legal to drive and capable of it but you can't account for the person on the road with you. I hope you all stay safe and healthy! 🙏🤗
The victims of this horrific crime are Andrea Rosewicz, 43, Paul Prowant, 55, and every person that knew and loved them. My thoughts are with the many victims of this woman's choices and behaviour, she is damn lucky she is only sentenced to 14 years in prison IMO
Thank you for sharing their names. More often than not, we know the criminals' names and barely know the victims. I hope their spirits are free and the families can find peace.
My mom always said we could call her for a ride no matter where we were or how messed up we were and there wouldn't be a lecture. She stuck to it. It kept us from making a lot of stupid decisions. There were a lot of silent car rides where we knew she was disappointed in our actions but she was just happy we'd gotten home safe and so had everyone else. Now that we're in our 30s and not being reckless anymore, every time I see these stories I thank my mom for always looking out for us and making sure we got to be thriving adults when we were stupid kids.
If only all parents were like that, I knew both kinds of parents and the strict parents were always surprised and angry. They never seemed to comprehend that kids will be kids and we were far safer considering some of us had parents that knew what we were doing and where we were, and some like my parents would give us a place to stay after we were done. Those who didn’t would often just crash in a park or something, including teenage girls. Definitely know what my policy will be when/if I have kids that age.
I am a former first responder/ firefighter. I've been on scenes, where I've seen State Troopers, County Sheriff's, grown men, on their knees crying. Horrible scenes, and most were preventable. The things I've seen I would not want ANYONE to see. I've pulled kids out of cars, after cutting an emergency brake out, because it was embedded in their knee. To get them out, I had to take the brake too. I've picked up body parts hundreds of feet from the site. Legs, still in the pants. Fingers. Brains. Arms. You name it, I've picked it up. I've held the hand of the dying. The injured. I've prayed over and with the injured, and the dying. I've listened as a dying person gave messages for their Family. PLEASE DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. IT'S ABSOLUTELY PREVENTABLE. The biggest wrong in the world, is knowing THE RIGHT THING to do, then doing the opposite. You just do not know, how VERY MANY PEOPLE you can affect. how very many YOU CAN SAVE, by just doing the RIGHT THING. PLEASE ALWAYS DO THE NEXT RIGHT THING. DO THE NEXT THING RIGHT. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Thank you for your service, I’m a former 911 dispatcher (fire/ems) and I’ve heard things that no one else should have to hear… but I respect first responders SO much bc hearing those calls is one thing, but dealing with them in person is entirely different. Seriously, thank you for all you do… sending you love, light, and healing ❤️🩹
Just recently passed the 10yr mark on my DUI. My advice, If you're going out and planning on drinking...please take an Uber/Lyft. If you're trip cost about $100-$150 for that night, trust me...that's NOTHING compare to what you'll be paying and getting yourself into if you're caught. If you can't afford that ride then maybe it's best you drink at home.
I think between my two DUIs I spent $20,000....It took 8 years to not have some sort of bill related to the DUIs...for those that won't listen to the safety message they need to be aware there are other deturents to be aware of.
I've had that same conversation dozens of times. The reaction is ALWAYS exactly like hers. (It's weird she wasn't handcuffed, though. I'd've been in trouble for not cuffing her to the bed. Different agencies have different policies, though.)
Every move is to let her feel at ease and let her incriminate herself, if he acts mean, she'll shut up. He's just feeding her rope. She's done no matter what though.
I don't blame him ... Nurses don't have that luxury. They can have a kid in the picu with cigarette burns on them, and when their (very obviously guilty) parents come in, they're not allowed to say a thing. There's no possible way I'd be able to do that job.
My granddaughter died because a drunk driver . It has been absolutely devastating for our family . She was only 13 and she was only beginning her life . She was kind caring and so loving . Please think about it , there are so many options now not to drive when you’ve been drinking , please care
Condolences. We cannot control the idiots. I put my family in the biggest, heaviest SUV i can afford and cross my fingers that a drunk isn't driving the same vehicle.
I’m truly sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine how painful it was but I hope you can eventually find peace again. I have absolutely 💯 horrified by the amount of trauma families endure through the stupidity and selfishness of drunk driving. She needs an extended period of time to think about the consequences of her actions. Maybe this girl will stop smiling and laughing after she spends time in prison.
OMG........I am a recovering Alcoholic with over 23 sobriety. My recovery journey started with a DUI arrest. My breathalyzer was 0.235. I do remember some of the stop. My attorney let me watch the tape. I almost got physically sick. He had to stop the tape. I Thank God everyday that the officer stopped me Before I hurt/killed anyone. I watch things like this; even though it's upsetting for me to do so. Why? Keeping it fresh. I Thank God for another sober day. Thank you for doing this video. Love your channel.
@@icsharpk It's literally what keeps me sober and what I talk about when I share my story. I had no business being behind the wheel, and to be honest I don't even remember getting behind the wheel.
During my HS “Senior Week” the police from where we were having our prom (Newport, RI which is a party town) came to talk to our class. The officer said, “In a class your size (almost 700) someone is going to die on the night of your prom. Please be smart and don’t drink and drive.” We all thought he was being dramatic. Her name was Debbie Caputo. She and her boyfriend were sober, but the person who hit them coming back from the beach was not. The same beach I went to after the prom with my friends. (With soda.) Even if YOU do the right thing you can’t guarantee that others will do the same.
Statistically this is true unfortunately, my senior class was one of the parts of the statistic. The girl that drove me and three of my friends home from the party she was our designated driver wound up getting hit head on on the Sagamore bridge on Cape Cod on her way home.
My friends son was 16, killed by a drunk driver after going to the garage for his father. He was dragged 20 metres and left to die outside a church... He was an IVF baby and due to go to College. 20 years ago it was, all those furture memories taken, no wedding, children or experiences. My heart still breaks for his parents after all these years 💔
Nine years ago I got pulled over at a DUI checkpoint and, as you say, felt like a deer in the headlights. At the time I thought it was the worst thing that could possibly happen. Every time I see a news report of a drunk driver killing someone i realize it was one of the best things that could have happened. Learned my lesson.
I worked EMS for a lot of years... saw the horrors drunks cause. Told my kids to never drink and drive, or get in a car with someone drinking. Call me.. day or night... no questions asked no lectures just respect. I also told them if they got a DUI ... call a lawyer not me because they know better and I won't be the get out of jail free card for stupidity.
@notme2day593 Nailed it at every point. That's how you do right by kids. Once warned, guided, and shown love & respect, they're now on their own to learn life's lessons.
@drea1976 Unfortunately that's addiction. Everyone is different. I have never drunk driven ever but we have to remember to being caught doing a DUI isn't enough for people to change. Atleast this person changed before it was too late. So you have to appreciate people for the changes they have made. DUIs usually don't happen because people are evil it happens because people unfortunately have this sense that bad things won't happen to them. It's more to do with ignorance than evil.
@Tom Thumb this has nothing to do with gender/ sex. It has to do with a drunk driver who killed people because of her actions. And fyi MEN are more likely to be the cause of vehicle accidents than women, those are the statistics.
My Uncle accidentally hit a child that ran out from between vehicles chasing a ball in front of a church that had a dinner on the ground. Several people lied and said he was speeding. The skid marks and closer witnesses told the truth that he was not even going as fast as the speed limit. He of course was cleared as non negligent and not speeding . It did not clear him in his own being. The sounds and visions in his mind like to have driven him crazy. He had his own 3 children and wife in the car. He had to take anti-depressants for many years. He literally became mentally incapacitated just after he retired. His mind just gave up. He never drank but took up smoking. But died basically from not eating and electrolyte imbalance. He was one of the funniest and funniest uncles I had until it happened. The family forgave him but he never forgave himself.
A lorry driver knocked over my uncle. It was completely my uncles fault, he was drunk with a bag of chips in one hand and a can of beer in the other and he went to cross a quiet road to his road where he lived but there was a lorry and he didn’t notice. He was considered brain dead after 3 days and the police asked my granda if he wanted to pursue charges for the lorry driver. My granda said that poor man has been through enough. The lorry driver came to the funeral and has never driven since
"why would this happen to ME?" Disgusting. This epidemic of narcissism, self-centeredness, lack of empathy, lack of remorse, entitlement, inability to see the effects on anything or anybody but yourself...is disturbing
I think it's beyond narcissism. I suspect this woman is a sociopath. Even at her sentencing, she blamed alcohol and took no personal responsibility. Sick. Let's hope by the time she gets out (she'll be in her mid-late 30s) she has a better understanding of the damage she did.
The fact that she was able to get out on bond, meet a guy and get pregnant, have a gender reveal and get married, while there was family out there grieving for their loss family members🤦🏽♀️😢this world is not fair
I heard about it through TikTok they got pictures of her on bond at her gender reveal showing pink smoke, she was out on bail for a year so she achieved all that within a year.
@@LindaKayHolevas she did give 14 years but she was out on bond for a year so she cheated all that within a year and because she’s young and because she’s pregnant so definitely get out way earlier than that and gets to live her life
@@Lightskin22- no, she has to complete 85% of the 14 years, like it or not. That was part of the sentence. So not only did she take 2 lives, she also subjected her unborn child to living without a mother for all that time.

In women's prison, she will fit in just fine, as the drunk chick that ran over two boomers. Bet she gets out early because a liberal woke attorney feels sorry for her and begins appealing the sentence in front of a woke judge.
How many years do you think is enough and why? I'm not arguing with you. You declared that is not enough time but failed to say how much time is enough or any explanation.

A good friend of mine drove home drunk one night. Wrapped her car around a tree within sight of her home, where she lived with her parents. Her parents ran out to find their daughter dead right outside their front door. She was 22. The only blessing out of all of this was that she didn’t hurt anybody else. Cases like this make me so angry, because there’s no excuse for it. Just call someone to get you. No matter how fine you think you are. Because my friend almost made it home. But almost wasn’t close enough.
WOW 😳 that's wild and sad for the parents, i mean imagine sitting in your living room having a cup of coffee and all of a sudden you hear a loud BANG run outside and see your child's car wrapped around a tree .... SMH....

I blame judges for their poor choice in sentencing. That was an unfair sense for a life for someone’s life. God bless you at having to lose a child. May you find some peace.
This wasn’t one stupid decision, it was many. She’s done this many times and got away with it so she thought she was entitled and untouchable to keep doing so.
That's what happens when you haven't been getting consequences your whole life. I guarantee her parents always made sure she had no consequences, and if she was ever caught for a DUI, it was swept under the rug.

I fully expected, when the officer said he was more concerned with the 2 deceased persons, for her to say, "But, they're not going anywhere." This is so sad and awful. I watched this with my 22 year old. At 13, I drilled it into his head that if he's under the influence to call me at any time. No questions asked. No sermons.Thank you, Mr. Rivers.
Same for mine. I also offered rides back from prom for highschool graduates because my daughter offered me up. LOL I drove all over the place that night but all the kids made it back safely and could get their cars the next day when they were sober. It was a long night, but I was glad so many kids asked.
I will say that this woman was treated with respect by the officer. Given the situation he did his job exactly how he should. By doing so he built a solid case against this young lady for the horrific event and she was sent to prison for her actions.
That may be but that line walling test is not fair to those with balance issues. Although glad he asked about medical conditions. As a dyspraxic I couldn't pass that test.
@Bodie, yes, she was treated with respect. That’s because SHE was respectful. 90% of people caught driving drunk are obstinate, obnoxious, racist, uncooperative, drunken fools who think they have a right to spit on LEO, attack, etc. They see how LEO are treated today and immediately think it’s ok to go on the defensive, drunk as hell. 99% of LEO ARE respectful to begin with, even with the most obnoxious people on the face of the earth. Really sick of the bogus attack on LEO.
Sentence 14 years in prison for killing two people with no visible signs of remorse. Likely she will be out of prison before the end of her sentence for good behavior. There is no justice, she will enjoy her life again still while being young & dumb. Getting the chance to do many things her victims will never experience again because they're dead. Fuck everything.
That's the same conversation I had to have with a guy at the hospital who killed a family doing a DUI, he was expecting to go home and worried about the condition of his car.
Props to the officer, for telling her like it is, at the hospital... "You're all on body cam being completely careless about killing 2 ppl tonight.. you could careless.. that's sad and pathetic and horrible all at the same time".
@@povertylevelphilanthropy1524 This is a common misconception of the phrase. It’s actually an abbreviated version of “as if I could care less”. It’s been shortened over time so on the surface it seems to not make sense.
It was the alcohol. She isn't physically capable of understanding what's going on and what happened. Emotionally or intellectually. It will hit her when she sobers up. No drunk person, esp this intoxicated would be able to understand while intoxicated. And unfortunately, drinking and driving is super common. Many people make thr choice to drive when they have alcohol in their system and really shouldn't. Everyone knows better and yet most people have done it atleast once in their life. Esp while young. And they do it, not because they are heartless (though I understand it is easier for others to believe they are ), when in reality, no one really believes something like this will happen to them. Even, or esp drunk people, dont get into a car and driving thinking or intending to kill someone. Good people, can and do make very stupid decisions that can have tragic and profound consequences. They are reckless and irresponsible accidents. Not on purposes. No one truly believes their choice will have such devestating consequences, and with alcohol in your system, you are even more likely to believe this. Homestly, it is so common, i dpnt even believe when they say they have never driven under the legal definition of drunk. The legal limit is .08. Do you know how little that is? A person, even a small person with no tolerance at all, is impaired by .08. But I guarantee you probably have driven home from a dinner with a .08 level..even though thr MOST responsible thing is not driving with any amount of intoxicating substances in your system. Even medications until you know how they effect you. And even sleep can severely impair judgement and reflexes. And many, many people drive sleepy. And im case you don't know, in terms of how sleep deprivation effects the human body, after a point (which isn't that much), effects of sleep deprivation, exhaustion, etc is indistinguishable (visually atleast. Anything that can be observed with your eyes) from effects of alcohol. The uncomfortable truth is, humans are way too comfortable driving. And often drive when it puts themselves and others at risk, and even drive in a way, make decisions while driving, while NOT impaired that puts themselves and others at risk (and even people who drive too slow actually put themselves and others at risk) all the time. Every day. And it actually is not a result of people not caring. It is just easier to separate people who get unlucky in the decisions that are not rare or unique, than to admit, we all take similar risks simply because imwe don't actually believe it can or will happen to us personally. Until it does. Which is why people really need to be careful when they judge others and use interpretations of their body language to condemn them, when in reality, no behavior they could exhibit would make you feel different. If she behaved in a way that resembled like she cared, you would probably say she is faking it and isn't even faking it well. And most people do that because it os called emotionally distancing yourself. (Which is exactly what the mind does in stressful situations like killing 2 people. Even if she wasn't drunk. Shock is a very common response. Even by the guilty party. It is a reaction, a natural reaction to extreme emotions. Ans can take hours, days weeks even years to fully get out of shock and process something severely truamatic. And killing another living thing IS truamatic. Even for a killer. Unless they have anti social personality disorder, which is rare. Most killers (even murderers) are NOT unfeeling. Even if they wont reveal what they are feeling to the world. Esp à world that judges harshly, withholds compassion, arbitrarily decides who is the victim, sees the world in black and white, and will never judge you fairly. And we, as individuals and as a society, do that even just on accusations alone. When all facts are not even known. Whichbis why eccusations ruin lives even after exconerations. We are all more than the worst thing we have ever done. And it isnan uncomfortable truth that we are all just as likely to end up in the shoes of the wrongdoer as the innocent victim.
She literally said “I’m going to live my life for the 3 of us” at her sentencing hearing Bruce, don’t feel bad that you’re “preaching” to us. You give fantastic advice and it shows that you truly care about us, your fans. Keep giving us moral advice. You’re the man, Bruce!!

Been a nurse and in the newspaper years ago (Toronto Star, Toronto, Ontario, Canada) there was an article about a young man who was drunk driving. He had damaged his brain so badly, that he now could not feed himself, go the bathroom, wash himself etc. He was being gastric fed, (tube into his stomach to feed him Ensure (he could never again 'eat'), having bowel evacuations to poop, and had a Foley catheter (pee tube) to drain his bladder. He had been drunk driving and now in plain talk was a vegetable. His father gets permission to take young drinking age teens into the long term care facility to "meet" his teenage son who could not say "hi", let alone focus his eyes on the other teens and his dad who were there. With this one lady in this video, you said Bruce she ruined her life, the two people she killed, but she also had ruined her family's lives. 😞 Thanks for posting this and hope others will continue to learn. Only thing I can't believe is how people can't believe that cops are doing their job and being professional. Shows it's not just "a few bad apples" when it's the exception and not the rule.
@@topspot4834if this were true then the “good cops” would hold their buddies accountable. Every murder a cop commits is a murder their entire department committed by not stopping them, not firing them, not arresting them and aggressively pursuing prosecution. The same applies to day to day “shitty attitude” things. Cops being dicks, writing tickets unnecessarily, escalating situations, whatever else. Cops NEVER hold each other to account. They view themselves as an occupying military over the American population. It’s disgusting, and you’re disgusting for defending it at all in any way whatsoever
in this particular scenario, the cops is just doing his duty for the victims and their families..he is trying to get as much evidence as he can to lock her up..and the more she's talking, and acting intoxicated the better..
When I was an officer, I arrested a public defender for domestic violence. I read him Miranda and TOLD him to stop talking. He repeatedly confessed to hitting and choking her. I told him everything was being recorded. He could not shut his mouth. The case was transferred to another County because of the obvious conflict. Even with the video recorded confession, they chose to not prosecute. That was one of the things that made me find another career.
Wow!! What do you do now? Yeah, he obviously got off because of his connections and legal knowledge. He still should have had the video used against him for "excited utterance" but maybe excited utterance only applies if someone is killed.
Why would you tell him to stop talking tho?? Wouldnt you want all the evidence you can get? Not tryna shame you but the whole issue people have is that people in those kind of job fields look out for each other, hence why so many people are scared to come forward when they have an issue with cops/judges/etc. Im just curious if you would've said to anyone else to stop talking/incriminating themselves?
@@miapelletrino2960maybe he told him to be quiet bc he was just going on & on. There’s plenty of bodycam footage that shows cops telling people to shut up after arrest lol
Her question “Can you say this as a cop?” was telling. When he was blunt with her, she was coherent enough to recognize it and attempted to call it out as somehow inappropriate. She even had her wits enough to be literal about not going to school “tomorrow.” There is an underlying sarcasm or tone about these exchanges that tells me she was already a bit self-centered even when she doesn’t drink.
She's used to manipulating her way out of everything. It's the same with the turn away turn back "Oh hey, you haven't done your job" move, and the follow up with "You said TOMORROW" She knows what she did. She just doesn't care.
@@DrunkQueer That's exactly it. All the authority figures in our culture are being nerfed to make room for exactly this kind of personality. Someone who can end people's lives and just not even come close to caring.
What? Saints don't lie. He was building a case against her and never once let her know that she was in trouble. In fact, he said you're not in trouble, and she's not under arrest, which was only true for all but 5 seconds. If you want to talk about how calm the officer was, he was calm for the same reason they're all calm, they don't want to stress out the suspect and cause the suspect to act erratic because any information she gives them while visibly under some sort of psychosis would be hard to omit into court.
@Crys P no I'm just very interested in the law that I actually know how some of it works. Screw that woman she took two innocent lives because she had a drinking problem. I believe in recidivism, but I also believe that if you committed the crime, you must be punished for it. Also, what you said is not how the criminal justice system works. What you're saying is really bad. It would set precedence for women or men who have been drugged/ raped to be held accountable for said sexual encounter on an interpretation. Really, you can't make this stuff up dude, what you just said is that it's not admissible in court because it's considered illegal. In fact, I doubt they were allowed to use a majority of her actions as "mens rea" due to the fact that she was blasted drunk. Drunk people can't consent to sex. It's hard to charge a drunk person with crimes that have a high burden of proof like murder. Okay, maybe she could've gotten a lesser degree of murder due to the fact that it was not intentional, (a lawyer would argue that being that drunk and getting behind the wheel means that you're looking to hurt someone or yourself). No, she was charged with vehicular homicide because it's hard to prove murder when the person lacks mens rea. Guilty or innocent, though, I do believe in shutting the hell up. A good lawyer would try to have all of her statements on video thrown out, although she didn't have a trial. Therefore, they weren't going to be able to suppress the video. Those tactics tend to only come up during jury trials because it's left at the discretion of the judge. Evidence can be thrown out even it there was no trial, but that's usually illegally obtained evidence. This cop did his job well, fully Mirandized her in the beginning, and she offered up all of the evidence in the video. There's no question to the legality of that. There's only question to the credibility of the evidence, which does not matter in a case like this. She identified herself as the killer, evidence corroborates that so no judge will suppress the video, it doesn't benefit or help the defendant in any way.
4 years sober. I am an alcoholic, just like this woman. She's in psychosis from chronic drinking... Maintaining those high levels of alcohol over long periods send you to the psych ward. I came in there hospital at .37 and almost died and was send to the adult psych unit... I could have killed so many people. This woman is an excellent warning. Thank you for sharing this video Bruce! This is serious ish.
My body forced me to come the terms with my alcoholism. I thank God every day, I didn’t kill anyone doing stupid shite. Please God show mercy and Grace to the victims and their families.
the excuses make me sick. she's in psychosis from being a raging bitch with zero empathy. you were probably a trash heap and you want to blame booze for it. this woman was a trash heap and you want to blame booze for it. instead, consider that you were a trash heap and booze was something you were drawn too because it enables dirtbagery.
The fact that she received a 14 year sentence is appalling to me. Yet those people killed will never experience life again. My heart goes out to the families involved
I agree that 14 years isn't long enough, especially given her complete lack of remorse but don't get it twisted, her life is ruined, yes she will be out sometime in her 30s, but this will always be on her record, it will be almost impossible for her to get a decent job, and 14 years is still a long time.
I don't imagine she'll be rehabilitating herself in prison, but rather become a product of the criminal environment within prison... Setting up a revolving door for the rest of her life. She'll likely get out of prison just to find herself right back inside for something else.
My brother and his friend were hit by a drunk driver just a few weeks ago. His friend died instantly. My brother is still in the hospital with a spinal cord injury. These people are seriously clueless at the destruction they caused, the broken families and the utter devastation.
@@SarahHansell Thank you. I couldn't even begin to imagine that kind of loss. People just don't seem to understand how close siblings are. My brother is unable to walk. We discovered through the court process so far that the driver lost her own little daughter 5 years ago to a drunk driver when she was hit head on. Ironically, just blocks away from the accident she caused. It's just beyond my ability to comprehend.
He's an attorney. A lot of his advice is telling people who have committed serious crimes the way to get the least amount of punishment or get off. I wish more people would take responsibility for their wrongdoing. That's a moral society. We used to have that. At least far more than today. When I stole a pack of bubble gum as a child I was marched back into the store and made to return it and apologize with additional consequences when I got home. I never stole again. We need more accountability.
I was arrested for DUI almost four years ago and still don’t remember it. That was my wake up call. By the grace of god i didn’t hurt anyone or myself. Thank god the police stopped me and saved everyone that night. I’m still ashamed and terrified about what could have happened if I wasn’t arrested. After the arrest I checked myself into rehab and have been sober since. I would have let myself die in jail (as I deserve to) if I killed anyone that night. Videos like this keep me grounded and show me what could have been. Please don’t drink and drive. Get help if you’re even questioning yourself about your drinking habits. I’ll pray that the family she was able to have knowing she killed two people remain safe from the karma she created for herself. Watch out girl. Your suffering hasn’t even begun.
I’m so pleased to hear that you have remain sober. I’ve had friends when I was younger who drink and drove consistently even though several of people we knew had been arrested for DWI’s yet they made the necessary changes. It’s very scary to be friends with people who put others at risk. So again I’m so happy for you. I’m happy for your family because you’ve made a huge change in your life and you’ve stuck with it. more power to you and God bless
Just don’t feel pressured by people around you to drink. Students start to drink because they think it’s so cool. They also say it’s because you can socialize better, but why don’t those drunk students try to socialize without alcohol? Y’all be perfectly fine, and still have lots of fun that you can actually remember. It’s so cringe to see students wanting to drink in order to fit in and in order for them to think they are cool. Super cringe
I love how Bruce interjects explanations but not too much. Just perfect so you can understand everything going on and still follow the story. Masterful!
That was his tactic to get her to talk and incriminate herself. If he started off pissed and hostile she wouldn't have been so forthcoming. Once he got his info he let out a lil piece of his mind.
The first minutes are already super weird. There's a SEVERED LEG stuck under the hood of her car, first responders performing CPR on her victims and she acts like she had a little fender bender at the Walmart parking space. Unbelievable. And it only gets more sinister from there. Incredible stuff.
A girl here in Indiana was texting and driving and she ran over and killed 2 kids getting off a stopped bus with all of its lights on. She was sentenced to 4 years in prison, served a year and was released. She didn’t have a care in the world either about the kids she hit and killed. Absolutely zero remorse at all. The justice system is a joke.
People always say the justice system is a joke but the USA has one of the highest prison populations per capita in the world. What do you make of that? Not trying to be rude, honest question. Because obviously a lot of people are in prison in this country so where do you think the problem is?
@@jazzercise300 the US justice system is still a joke. The reason we have the highest prison population is because our punishments aren’t good enough to scare people into not doing illegal things. Other countries will kill you if you murder, steal or rape. We just slap you on the wrist here and either put you in prison for a couple years or release you.
@@jazzercise300Adam the problem is a lot of them are in for non violent offenses like drug use/drug dealing or they have mental health issues that are only dealt with in jail/prisons.

@@tristanrebeck Wow! That’s a hardcore alcoholic! Surprised she’s not in prison. I hear you about licensing. I have a perfect driving record too for over 20 years and I know whay you mean.
I agree the attitude should had been a factor in sentences. And the bad part it's less time than that jail time is 3 for 1 so you do 1 year counts as 3 years then there's good behavior could be less time. OMG and she admitted to being aware and she's singing this is the definition of a menace to society
@@angelicamichelle1646 That is utter bullshit. You think a year in prison is counted as three years!? And, you say, that's even before any time off for good behavior!!! Whatever your source of information, it's bad. You know, you can look up a state's general good time formulas, parole laws (if any), how they're imposed, on whom, for what crimes, exceptions that might apply. It varies among states but none of them do what you claim at all. Federal prisons, for example, abolished parole many years ago and all federal prisoners must serve close to 90% of their sentences. Don't underestimate sentencing severity in the largest, most populated prison system on earth: the American gulag.

I am a recovering alcoholic. I drank 30 years of my life away. I've been pulled over for DUI five times. I have never failed a FST or been given a breathalyzer. But I was so acutely intoxicated that I couldn't remember even where I was going. And functional alcoholics are literally everywhere. I could have killed people a thousand times over. I sometimes wonder if people ever think about how very close they come to death everyday driving the roads with people like I used to be. It's absolutely terrifying.
My sister is 28 and she is about to get married and start a beautiful life with her significant other. But a few years ago she was a completely different person. She was also an addict. At one point she was drunk on top a hill with my nephew in the car. She drove offf the hill and the car rolled several times. Other times she was passed out in the car with my nephew in there. She would be at her AA meetings drunk. But to see her now, you would never believe she ever had that past.
I watched a video on UA-cam with a girl who blew a 2.5 and she was passed out in the taco bell drive thru. She showed remorse and was in Tears saying she's sorry. Being drunk doesn't mean you have no emotions. This girl here is just a monster
That’s what I was thinking! I’ve been drunk out of my mind, room spinning throwing up unable to walk and I still would’ve been horrified if someone told me I’d killed two people. Alcohol isn’t even CLOSE to the reason she didn’t react, she’s just a sociopath
.25. Not 2.5, she would be dead. 2.5 would be the highest recorded bac in history. However I agree. On other videos I've seen people defending her saying she's just drunk. Like no. Drunk people actually feel the same emotions, even more intensely than sober people. Alcohol doesn't change anyone to a different person, it turns the volume up on who they are already. She was already a selfish, sociopath, and being drunk just made her more brazen about it.
@@joellezima3506 exactly. It honestly pissed me off, I've seen people defending that "she's just drunk!". Doesn't matter how drunk or sober you are.
This evidence of her psychopathic disregard for the people she killed, and she only got 14 years and was allowed to graduate, boggles the mind. If I were a loved one of the people she killed I would make sure she and the judge were permanently expelled from this world.

No relationship has lasted cuz nobody wants to be with someone who is in constant pain. I am happy I’m alive & not addicted to anything. Isn’t it amazing that she’s SO wasted to not understand the consequences of her actions but she’s still speaking in clear sentences? Girl is a VERY heavy drinker to tolerate it like she does. I’m curious how she responded the next day when she woke up with a killer hangover but sober.
Not necessarily a heavy drinker. some people just present sober when they’re drunk, which is extra dangerous if you think about it because no one is going to take your keys from you.
I went to college with this girl. I didn't know her, but she was supposed to graduate with my class. After this news broke out, students protested her ability to walk at graduation, even writing the phone number of the college president all over campus. God bless y'all, I can't even imagine, but I do know that it really never gets easier. I'm a Law Enforcement Officer of 15 years and it never gets easier notifying the parents or family of their loved one(s) being fatally injured. The fact that when I'm in route to give notification I'm thinking these people are sitting home watching TV or just enjoying life and they don't know what has happened and I'm about to have to give them news that will severely change their lives forever.

I've never been so intoxicated that I wouldn't care about being responsible for someone' death. This girl isn't just drunk, she's a narcissistic sociopath. You can tell she's never had to face any consequences for her actions when she has the audacity to ask the cop "umm, are allowed to talk to me like that"? I'd love to see a video of her sentencing!
The self control of that cop.... the restraint from yelling and throwing obscene insults at her for her idiocy like many others would do.... including me. Fk this delirious woman.
U should see her audacity at sentencing, she really said “now I understand I have the responsibility to live my life for all three of us (referencing her and the victims) so please allow me” bro if I was a family member in that room, holy shit. All hell might’ve broke loose.
Where I live in SC a drunk driver just killed the bride and seriously injured and gave a brain injury to the groom the night they were married, happened last week it’s devastating!!!
I heard about this tragic event. I agree it is devastating. There is something I am curious about. It doesn't change the responsibility of the drunk driver. But, maybe you can answer this. I was surprised to hear that anyone was driving a golf cart at night. In a lot of places, it is illegal to drive a golf cart on the streets at night. Do you know what the law is where this occurred?
@@Maggie-tr2kd I just took a quick look, and one news article says that the golf cart had lights and was legal to drive. It also said that the speed limit for the road they were on was 25 MPH, while the drunk driver was doing 65 MPH and "only briefly hit the breaks" before hitting the cart. It also describes it as "a beach road," so this seems like a situation where you'd expect drivers to be going slowly and keeping an eye out, not a regular town road.
Yup, my dad transported her body( still in her wedding dress) to the morgue. one person's decision(thought) can affect so many other lives. Stay safe and prayed up people

My dad had nine DUIs on his record, all in different states so they didn't rack up. Even when I was a young girl riding in his truck while he was drunk, I would get angry because he could kill others. I am so so sorry about your girlfriend.
The amount of contempt that the cop had for her was strong. He really tried to explain it to her and to evoke any sort of response or remorse and you can feel how upset he was. She only cares for herself; even though she caused the situation, she views it as an inconvenience to her. Her stupidity and entitlement caused it. And I knew she was hammered right away
The minute she said she only had 3 drinks... I knew she was lying! She probably had 3 shots of vodka in the first 20 minutes of getting to the bar! She probably had closer to 10+ drinks before leaving! And 3 lives were ruined... 2 were terminal. Her future will be lost if she doesn't change!
Honestly she barely even sees it as an inconvenience. She was thinking about school the next day. Tuesday? Oh everything will be fine since I'm going to Vegas in two months. It wasn't even really an inconvenience, just a speed bump in her narcissistic life.
I used to be an alcoholic and addict throughout my 20’s and into my 30’s. I used to drive around blasted all the time and I was lucky enough to never hurt anyone. Dude who killed my mum started out by saying he'd had one beer. By the end of the trial, it was four beers (yes, there's the issue of the bartender serving him and letting him drive away...don't get me started) but he had been drinking for 14hrs at a party (passed out, woke up, left for work and stopped at the bar on the way). He hit her in the middle of an intersection (he was making a perfectly legal left hand turn but "didn't see" mum in the crosswalk) at 3:00pm and said that he didn't see her because the sun was in his eyes. (Wasn't, because when I was waiting for my ride to the hosp. at 5pm the sun was in MY eyes.) It took three years from the date of the crash until the sentencing was finished. In the trial they had to prove that he was drunk (judge didn't have to accept the breathalizer, thank God he did), that he hit her because he was drunk, that she was injured because he hit her and that the injuries caused her death. Meanwhile, he blew .15 at the scene and 10 witnesses saw him hit her. It should be very easy, you blew .15 - go to jail. The drivers get off so easy.
@@ratflail215 The breathalizer is a grey area when it comes to evidence submission. It's just inaccurate enough to leave it up to the judge whether or not to accept it. A blood sample on the other hand, so long as it's collected properly MUST be accepted as it is FAR more accurate.
I’m sorry that happened to you. If I was in that situation and if the guy that did that bonded out I would have hunted him down and killed his ass I don’t believe in calling the police I believe in eye for an eye in those types of situations. I got kids now if that happened to me right now I wouldn’t be able to do those things I would have to find where he lives and mask up can’t do it in the county too many cameras can’t throw my life away with kids. But depending on the situation I would have to get revenge no matter if it was an accident as long as the man was drunk he was being reckless enough to be punished with his death. Love and support for Darron. I hope he has found peace and a good life. Thank you for sharing this heartbreaking story, @beckyg.8228. May Darron's siblings and parents RIP. ❤🧡💛♥💔
She is bombed out of her mind. You seem to not understand this person speaking is not the same person who will wake up in the morning. Drunk people act crazy/stupid etc. and often complete change in personality.@@dw5294
Watched this the other day. I was really hoping you would react to this one. The thing that hit me the most was her saying "so I'm not going to school tomorrow?" That sickened me. Even drunk, you would think there would be regret showing after being told that. Hats off to that officer for keeping his composure. knowing two families have been devastated and this girl is showing no remorse I don't think I could have been as restrained as he was.
I loved that the cop was like are you serious right now? And then she had the nerve to tell him he couldn’t tell her what he told her because he’s a cop ma’am of course he can tell you you’re a scumbag you’re a scumbag
People react so weirdly to bad things though...working in healthcare I had a patient under 30 who had a stroke (a minor one...but still a stroke) who asked me if they would be out of the hospital in time to go to work that night. They just couldn't comprehend the reality of the situation and how much their life was going to change--with bloodthinners, monitoring, etc. That's just what trauma does to people sometimes.
I can not get over her total lack of compassion and emotion for the two people she just murdered!! How she can be standing there laughing and smiling is absolutely disgusting!!
My dad was an alcoholic and from an early age, I remember sitting in the back seat of the car, wondering if we were going to make it home alive. He was a "functional" alcoholic, who maintained his career until retirement. He eventually lost his license (and to his credit, he never drove once he lost it), but I can't even fathom of the number of times I thought of the risk he put all lives in danger. This girl? When she's laughing or smiling, she isn't even remembering the circumstances of why everyone is there. She is just in that moment (like a dog, according to Cesar Millan). She only has enough brain function to consider her situation at the time. This is precisely why I went into the highway patrol---to get as many of these people off the roadway as possible.
@@kimberley1449, thanks, but I retired when mobile phones were those giant boxes of things people had in their cars---no such thing as a cell phone at the time.
@@mary-janereallynotsarah684, trust me I am sure not taking away from dogs here, but when my dog sees prey, she is NOT thinking about anything other that how she can get at it, even though I know she has a soul (at least, I know if I have one, she has one too) and the whole gamut of feelings. Can you tell me in all certainty that after the "prey" (alcohol in her system) was gone, she wasn't back to experiencing that whole gamut of emotions ? From the sounds of what she did with getting married and pregnant, expecting that she would probably be seeing some prison time, those feelings were internalized and directed towards herself. She certainly wasn't the brightest person at her graduation.
The way I explained to my kids, 19, 19, 21 & 22, to never drink & drive is because they don’t want to live the rest of their lives knowing they took someone’s life. The drunk person almost always lives.
Young adults are stupid and have main character syndrome. They never think it will happen to them. I can assure you in her life this girl was warned of the ramifications of drinking and driving ALOT and did it anyway because those things happen to other people, not her.
Drinking and driving isn’t bad driving while drunk is bad. Those are two different things. Having a few drinks as an experienced drinker won’t inhibit your driving ability you’ll just be tipsy. If you’re drunk you shouldn’t drive tho.
@@YungPhilosopher This was the lamest attempt at mincing words.. The reason why we have standards a hard liqueur drink absorbs in your blood different than a 5% beers based on body weight and height, and if consumed with food. That is why they have standards 🙄 so, often you don't think you are drunk like the woman in the video.. she clearly thought she was "fine"
@@YungPhilosopherThe thing is, drunk people shouldn’t be deciding whether they’re sober enough to drive. They would probably tell themselves that they’re just tipsy or that they can handle their booze. Bottom line: even just being tipsy slows your reaction time. Even a slightly slower reaction time can be the difference between people living or dying on the road. Distracted driving is far more deadly than it should be because people tell themselves that it’s fine for just a second. One second covers a surprisingly large distance at even relatively low speeds. Is it really worth the risk?
I got into a car accident in 2019 and had a bad concussion. The cops arrested me for DUI because I failed the eye test. I requested a blood test and never got charged. The fact the cop wouldn’t listen when I said I was concussed, was so frustrating
I was in a bad accident in 2014. I was at fault, not intoxicated. All i remember the cops doing was asking questions while paramedics were trying to listen to my heart and I was annoyed they were pulling at my shirt so I just took it off. I was concussed as well. I just remember being put on the stretcher with a neck brace on and blood in my eyes. And telling the paramedics I felt like I was dying on our way to the hospital.
The officer shouldn't have even done any fields when you're concussed. That's literally one of the questions they have to ask at the beginning because it can skew the results so badly if you've had a concussion even weeks ago. I would have sued them to high heaven for that.
@Oliviaandtrina Sometimes when you have a concussion, you don't know you have one. I had one that affected my short term memory and kept asking the same questions over and over like a drunk person does, also off balance etc... and yeah I was sober. Head injuries can make things not make sense and take away reasoning skills, just like alcohol does.
@CLR,Bruce Rivers, Thank you! For bringing awareness of what happens to you when you decide to drink and drive! 🤔Damn! She never acknowledged that she killed 2 innocent ppl.? And in the end she decides to sing a tune? Like WTAF! She seriously needs a wake up call! Imagine those two people's family members? Her not realizing the magnitude of what she's done,Blows my mind 😲🤯😱That female deserves not only go to prison but seriously needs to make amends possibly working pay free in a morgue somewhere,So she can see what a precious life means!
The worst thing is she killed two people who were walking home from the same bar as her. They were being smart safe adults unlike her driving while drunk. God this is horrible
I never thought of that 😢
She’s an a-hole! I hate em
Me personally I'd rather birthday parts and celebrations as opposed to anything with negative energy.
sadly it's the norm for drunk drivers. Statistically they also tend to survive way more crashes too

RIP Patrick Duff. Thank you for sharing this important & heartbreaking story, @NightOfTheLiving8bit. Clearly, Patrick was extraordinarily special. 💔❤♥
I'm so sorry that happened to your beautiful friend 💔
Make sure U keep thinking about him, it IS important.
I'm so sorry for your loss. He must have been a really great person, for you to still honor him. ❤
Sounds like you have or had a very good mother god bless you your mam & the rest of your family. I wish you 10 years of good luck from the 🇬🇧
@@jamiecampbell7446Thank you!

That is beautiful!! Bless her heart
All parents should be like that.
We did the same thing with our kid, no questions asked, just call us and we’ll get you and take any friends home.
This! I mean I might still get a lecture but my “I’m just going to call my mom to come get me” is very strong.

I love the part where the cop in the hospital finally gets tired of her s**t and gives her a piece of his mind.
I've had that same conversation dozens of times. The reaction is ALWAYS exactly like hers. (It's weird she wasn't handcuffed, though. I'd've been in trouble for not cuffing her to the bed. Different agencies have different policies, though.)
I LOVED that as well!
Every move is to let her feel at ease and let her incriminate herself, if he acts mean, she'll shut up. He's just feeding her rope. She's done no matter what though.
Yesssssssssss.
I don't blame him ... Nurses don't have that luxury. They can have a kid in the picu with cigarette burns on them, and when their (very obviously guilty) parents come in, they're not allowed to say a thing. There's no possible way I'd be able to do that job.

I had no business being behind the wheel, and to be honest I don't even remember getting behind the wheel.
Be very proud of yourself….you cared enough to do something about it. Great job.
(With soda.) Even if YOU do the right thing you can’t guarantee that others will do the same.
we had a football player come in and talk to us, dude got a dui a few years later, like dude what the fuck

Atleast this person changed before it was too late. So you have to appreciate people for the changes they have made. DUIs usually don't happen because people are evil it happens because people unfortunately have this sense that bad things won't happen to them. It's more to do with ignorance than evil.

@Tom Thumb Absolutely
@Tom Thumb how does that behavior correlate with her being a woman?

The lorry driver came to the funeral and has never driven since
Seven years for a human life. That’s monstrous. The victims’ families must be heartbroken.

I think it's beyond narcissism. I suspect this woman is a sociopath. Even at her sentencing, she blamed alcohol and took no personal responsibility. Sick. Let's hope by the time she gets out (she'll be in her mid-late 30s) she has a better understanding of the damage she did.
Her attitude has likely been created by a life of getting what she wants because she is vaguely pretty.

She literally said “I’m going to live my life for the 3 of us” at her sentencing hearing

If you want to talk about how calm the officer was, he was calm for the same reason they're all calm, they don't want to stress out the suspect and cause the suspect to act erratic because any information she gives them while visibly under some sort of psychosis would be hard to omit into court.
@@notatypobrutha sound like you wanted to get to get off the hook. It’s her fault for being so drunk she couldn’t notice the cops tactics
He was just acting nice so she would talk. People love when other people ruin their lives. They enjoy getting them in trouble more during the process.

In the trial they had to prove that he was drunk (judge didn't have to accept the breathalizer, thank God he did), that he hit her because he was drunk, that she was injured because he hit her and that the injuries caused her death. Drinking and driving isn’t bad driving while drunk is bad. Those are two different things. Having a few drinks as an experienced drinker won’t inhibit your driving ability you’ll just be tipsy. If you’re drunk you shouldn’t drive tho.

@@Oliviaandtrinahe very well might not have known he had a concussion.
