      One thing about law enforcement jobs is most if not all require you to submit to any questioning or interrogations/investigations from any law enforcement agencies without any problems. Asking for a lawyer or walking out when they tell you you’re free to go during questioning is completely legal, but it might cost them their job or mess up pay/rank, so most guilty cops like this will sit through this because refusing to do so for law enforcement officers is rare and not a good look. On duty incidents are a bit different, waiting for union reps and lawyers to show up is standard procedure for the most part for on duty/union involved events.

    • @JAM661
      @JAM661 3 місяці тому +2

      Well the fact they got all the warrent before they questioned him pretty much shows they know everything and now they are just tidying up loose ends. Talking or not talking would not made a difference at this point. Basically if the police ask you about something, it is best to ask if they have any warrents and if they say no, just say will I will pratice my 5th admentment rights until I have a lawyer and you question me with one present. Then expect to pay a bunch of money. But most cops sign a contract that require them to cooperate with any investigation or they'll be let go. At this point you really do not have a lot of time to strategize. 😊

      The interrogator obviously had all the information and understood that not only is he a pedo monster, he is also a narcissist to the Nth degree. So she used an incredibly successful strategy to play into his NPD traits making it all about *him* *him* *him* So when that approach is successful with such a narcissist, it clouded all of any judgement he had and she skillfully walked him right into all of it!
      But it's STILL *SO* disturbing that he was able to get a deal that would allow him to be back out on the streets in his 40's!
      I say that the *only* and *best* way to assure that any other monsters out there who want to hurt children is to start castrating them! I'm VERY confident that ALL would-be monsters and sickos out there will DEFINITELY be deterred from hurting children when they find out that they will be castrated!
      Sort of like how it is in other parts of the world where they cut a hand off of thieves..when said thieves are released from prison, not only do they have to live without a hand, but also they're ostracized from their community because it's blatantly obvious what they are!

But Bruce was 100% correct when he said that as soon as she told him that he isn’t detained or under arrest he should of gotten up and left and went to retain a lawyer asap. But I’m glad that he didn’t and dug himself into a deeper hole. His prison stay is going to be very brutal for the fact that he was a cop and a pedo on top of that. Man ,especially in California I don’t know if this was a state or federal case but I actually hope that it was a state case because in the Feds the pedo’s and cops there are more protective prison yards than there are in California state prisons. Oh this is all too typical. An alarming portion of police are no better than the criminals they lock up every day. Even worse are correctional officers in jails/prison. They often are even worse than the inmates, especially they way they'll treat and take advantage of female prisoners. It really does seem to me police departments prefer relatively dumb people who don't ask questions and often are corrupt and have many skeletons in their closet (far more than the most of us). The only times I've encountered really bright minded police are investigators, or police who otherwise don't just patrol the streets. The ones who aren't out there to lock people up on small charges.

      I think the idea is that since they are both at risk in prison and they can just do home detention so a lot of them over noticed will do 10 at the max and usually get off on good behavior and slap an anklet on them so they don't have to bother with protecting people like that. I'm not sure about every state but some states you can see the public registry with both their home and work address that anyone can look up (after agreeing that they won't use the information for malicious purposes ofc). Unfortunately it doesn't do much because they don't always get the help they need (most offenders are severally mentally ill) and they can just end up cutting the anklet and booking it. I think law enforcement realizes that public shame often keeps most in check as they live the rest of their adult lives seen as dangerous people and will likely not reoffend due to the public knowing the person. I don't work in law enforcement but that's what I've noticed a lot with people like this.

    One thing people never run out of is audacity.
    For the life of me, I can't see how he just sat there through even the social media discussion and didn't get up. He had to think they had nothing or that he would be able to talk his way out of anything. But as a cop, he should know that in these kinds of situations, the "interviewee" is always at a disadvantage and disempowered because you don't know what information they already have.

      They were literally asking him about the layout of his house because it was in the photo evidence and I don't think he even had a clue why they were asking.

      The best part about “good guys” getting grilled is that they are between a rock and a hard place. If he asks for an attorney right away, he looks guilty and knows it. So he is forced to try and sweet talk the investigator and cooperate, which is VERY risky, and this video is a great example of why. Alec Murdaugh fell into that trap too. It’s awesome! Yeah so, maybe don’t break the law if you’re law enforcement and don’t wanna get caught ;)

      Sometimes but not always the suspect was someone that was abused at that same age with people they meet with. I've seen experts mention how the abuse basically shocks the system and you stop sexually maturing at that age. So now you are in your 30's doing things a teen would do like sending pics and flirting with many women and sexually you feel like you are a teen but everything about you is an adult.

    The investigator was so great, a true professional. She even said, the warrant REQUIRES us to…” basically implicating that SHE DOESNT WANT TO but has to, great way of keeping it light and friendly
