For what it’s worth, as someone who has never smoked anything, never touched any illegal drugs, and doesn’t even drink, I had multiple cops try to pull the “I smell weed” crap to try to get to search my car, especially when I was younger. As such, I am always suspicious when I see police using that line, especially since there is no physical evidence to prove or disprove whether a cop actually smelled something.

Yeah I was riding with my buddy one night and we got pulled over and they tried to pulled that whole “we smell marijuana” even though neither one of us were smokers and they pulled us out and searched the car for over an hour. Of course they didn’t find anything but it started raining halfway through and so by the time they let us leave we were soaking wet.

That’s scary. But I guess if it wasn’t true, the smell I mean, they weren’t going to find anything everything worked out. With the huge exception, feeling violated, lost trust for police, etc. pretty major. Sorry you were a victim of over zealous police

I had that happen once and was so taken back! I don’t smoke weed, I smoked it 3 times as a teenager and I didn’t even have that car at the time plus this was about 8 years later from the last time I smoked it and the officer pulled the “I smell an odor of weed in your car” .. I just consented to the search anyways by saying “what no I don’t smoke weed you can look in the car if you want” and he searched my car.. he looked like an idiot too. Absolutely nothing was in my car or my bag.

I'm a psych nurse. When Fentanyl was a brand new transdermal drug, I admitted a suicidal patient who suffered from multiple sclerosis, a very painful condition. His suicidal plan had nothing to do with drugs and he was prescribed the first patch he was wearing. Just before bedtime, he took a hot shower. He then told me, "This is the first time I've been pain-free in two years." He expressed hope that this new drug would make his life better. He went to sleep and never woke up. When he took the hot shower, it dumped the three day supply of Fentanyl into his system. I'll never forget it. On a more positive note, he never suffered from pain again, his family didn't suffer the gut-wrenching experience of a suicide, which compounds the grief of the loss of a loved one, and they got a LOT of money from the drug manufacturer.

Oh my goodness - I'm so sorry for him and his family. I have chronic pain tracing back to a severe injury and am currently on pain management. One of my prescriptions is the patch - and I had always taken really hot showers. Nothing ever seemed amiss. It wasn't until a couple of years later that I was told by one of the pain doctors that I needed to avoid hot showers. Two. Years. Later. Uh...thanks for waiting so long! But after he explained why, my eyes must have been as wide as saucers. I know the patches have undergone some changes over the years - so this could possibly be what saved me. These days I no longer take hot showers and have forced myself to get accustomed to cool showers. I don't want to take any chances. This is why your comment shook me up! I feel so badly for this man. Fentanyl has really helped me deal with my pain and I can relate to what he said about being pain free. But I can't say I've been "pain-free" - but better able to cope. I wonder if the high levels going thru his system is why he said he was pain-free. My heart hurts for him in that moment, and for his family now. Fentanyl is a double-edged sword - the prescriptions are micrograms and are powerful enough for severe pain - that bag of 160,000 pills this officer confiscated could have killed so many unwitting people. This is how Prince died. Sorry for the length of this!

OMG, This reminds me heavily of a time I was stopped for speeding on my way to a concert in a city 200 miles away. The officer asked for the usual, and asked where we were going. Then had me come with him to the squad car and had me sit in the front while he ran everything and chatted with me.
Here's where it got interesting. He then asked if it was okay with me that the Drug-sniffing K-9 unit comes out to do a 'quick search' of my car because 'the drug unit hadn't had a call at all today and the K-9 needed practice'. I was 21 and didn't know better so I said "Still have 4 hours before the concert, and I like dogs, so sure!". But... I also had zero to hide. There were no drugs in the car. Just road trip snacks and several cans of silly string. Between my nonchalant cooperative attitude, (plus mine and my passenger's stories matched) and after 30 minutes waiting for the K-9 unit, he let me know they were delayed on a 'real call' and we were free to go with a speed warning and told us to have fun at the concert. Not a bad traffic stop at all... but looking back on it 20 years later... *smh*

Said fine was getting the dogs after about 30 minutes comes back saying the same thing had a more important call and gave me a speeding ticket for 5 over. I'm in Michigan and wasn't planning to go back to Virginia, so never paid it and it never showed up on my record. Michigan doesn't honor out of state tickets.

He casually ask them questions and is friendly just to get them to open up. So if you’re a user and you’re about to use, you call a number and talk to someone while using? You give them your address and unlock the door? Then if you stop responding, they call 911 for you?
That’s a wild idea. I’ve never heard of it. I lived in Vancouver for like 3y, they had a place called Insite (sp) or something like that. It was a safe injection site. They had medical staff like nurses or whatever I assume, and you could go there and inject and obv if you OD’d you’d immediately get narcan’d etc. I’m pretty sure they had clean needles, pipes, alcohol wipes, cottons, cookers, little things of clean water, bands you tie around your arm, etc etc.
They weren’t (I assume still aren’t) allowed to touch you, like they obv can’t inject you lol. But they’ll oversee it and make sure you’re doing what you’re doing as safely as possible. Obviously it’s inherently unsafe, but it’s a million times safer in places like that. Vancouver even had a truck, or trucks idk, that you could call (24/7? If not then close) and they’d deliver you clean supplies, and take your used syringes (had to be in a used Sharps container they’d give you) to dispose of them safely.
It was a huge culture shock, I can’t fathom something like that existing near where I currently live…and I’m not far from Detroit. I’m sure there’s prolly places you can go to get clean stuff, I know some pharmacies will sell you syringes (they can refuse, or could when I knew about this stuff like 10y ago…idk if they can now or what) though. But I’ve never seen a whole kit like that where it’s a little cooker, a cotton, sealed little water vial, alcohol wipe or w/e, a rubber band you can use to tighten around your arm, (if you’ve seen movies like that they use belts a lot, these are like bands they would have at physical therapy or something) legit everything. Then if you want, glass tube and all the stuff like filter etc to make a pipe for you can prolly guess.
You could also get narcan free I believe? Or at least cheap. I think that’s a thing now in the USA, prolly not all states but def some you can go in to a pharmacy or w/e and get narcan free. You can say it’s enabling addicts, but honestly it’s saving them. Like you just hope they live long enough to finally want to get clean, and when you do they had the services there. It’s not like here where it’s all backwards, like I believe in Seattle or Oregon they decriminalized drugs. But it went super poorly bc they didn’t set up the infrastructure before actually passing the bill. Insanely ignorant.
I think it’s Portugal where p much everything is decriminalized, my friend grew up there, lived there until he was like 25. They actually get you help if you want it and it’s not a bajillion dollars for a decent facility. I know in some countries they’ve done trials where ppl who haven’t been able to quit H by using a substitute like subs or ‘done or anything, super long time users, they prescribed them exact doses of pure H. They’d go maybe 2-3x/day? Idk exactly, but I know these ppl were able to get off the street, get and keep a job, all that.
The USA is just so far behind so many places and they don’t seem to care. It’s a legit full scale crisis but they just throw users in jail (maybe you’ll get rehab instead if you’re lucky, depends how much you’re caught w, where you are, etc) and the war on drugs rages on. Purdue with OCs and that disgusting BS, obviously they shut it all down, so ppl go to H. Then they start busting ppl for H all over, prices skyrocket, they clamp down on prescribing any pain meds so much to where I’ve known two ppl with diseases that aren’t curable and cause crazy pain, and so many of the Drs either have no clue what they’re doing, or they’re petrified to lose their license from “overprescribing.”
So now unless you find a very compassionate dr and a great practice, you’re treated like a criminal for getting your legal prescription pain meds you can’t get out of bed without bc it’s so debilitating. I’ve seen drs give ppl 60 perc 10/325s for a couple pulled teeth, and I’ve seen someone with a chronic illness that causes obscene pain not be able to get more than like Tylenol 3s. It’s nuts. They also don’t care, or many don’t about weaning you off of pain meds after they’re pumping you full of them after a horrible accident or something. They’ll just cut you off one day sometimes, and not bc you did anything wrong.
It’s all really gross, and they wonder why F is so prevalent now. They can pull as much as they want off the street it doesn’t matter. It’s literally made in a lab, there is no end. Ban the precursors, they’ll find a new way to make a new analogue or a way to get the chemicals anyway.
People were infinitely better off when H was the main issue. Now it’s F, and there are 100s of analogues varying from a fraction of the strength of morphine, to literally some that they use to put down elephants and stuff with a couple milligrams on the tip of a dart that knocks out a fully grown elephant near instantly. Talking 30, 50x stronger than pure F. Some even stronger but they do obviously exaggerate. But there is absolutely stuff that’s 30-50x stronger than F and it’s not like impossible to find. Maybe 5-8y ago, you could order it online extremely easily domestically before CN cracked down on it more. Still very possible to get and is being made. Not that stuff, but F is all over. Any opioid pill you buy on the street, decent chance it’s F. Any H? Strong chance there’s at least some F in it.
      It’s just insanity. Truly.

I used live outside of Albuquerque and had to drive on the I-40 all the time. We got stopped once for literally doing 2 miles over the speed limit. They separated my husband and I to make sure our stories matched of what we were doing (NM state Police does that to everyone, they go talk to the passenger while checking the VIN, like he did here). I can't tell you how many times I saw pulled over cars being searched. Definitely don't speed on the I-40, especially if you're trafficking drugs! 😂

614, my sincere condolences for your lost. That's so sad, why staying away from drugs n the folks that use them. You never know what the cutter put into such drugs for earning more $$$. I was a pot stoner at 14 to 18. I sign up for Israeli service n they literally saved my life. I never believed in myself until then n I had a new awesome brothers n sisters that honestly cared for each other. After Infantry/Combat I tried out as a RedBoot n graduated as a paradog. Then hired on a a Israeli IDPS agent n had a blast. It was a cool job for a single guy. But got tired of wearing a suit most days. I miss it alot,,,
When my boyz were young, I made arrangements for them to experience what jail time was like. It was traumatic experience n paid off thankfully. One son got caught up in a stupid alcohol incident. With that experience n knowing my dad will make my life hell on earth. It kept them from being abusive lifestyle n how it will undoubtedly mess up down the road. Oldest boy, a 7th degree Grand Master n dojo owner n AOG pastors. 2nd a submariner n SOFs for a few yrs. He's worked as a smoke jumper n now a regional manager high stress fed. Youngest boy n his wife are both MDs living on a beautiful island I'll never see. Being a hardass dad paid off thank god. My apologies for long comment, but hope it encourages some parent out there or young person. They ABSOLUTELY NEED PARENTS active as a parent n advice coach. 😢 oldest got stupid drunk one night n bought a gal home n slept with him in the basement. After feeding her a good breakfast, she said she never had one like this.😢 Sad,,,
After she left wife just said let it go he's still young. I pushed him upto the wall while mom tried to intervene. I said don't you ever bring a girl home until you're married to her. Don't EVER means Ever,,, We aren't operating a fkin whore house, n you are a quest n son of ours. It's called RESPECT BUD, GOT IT. Never again had a problem. Kids are kids n maybe I was too hard on them, but today they're proud of their achievements n respectful n self integrity n caring for others less fortunate. I can only hope n pray they'll steer their ship towards Jesus Christ n raise their kids how they want. Have 15 gkids today n 8 are adopted from horrible disgusting homes. I gotta get. God Bless...

I had a cop do this with me in Oklahoma when I was driving my friends car cross country, I never heard of them asking you to sit in the passenger seat of their vehicle. A cop told me it's a method they use to study your body language and see how you respond to questions. I was sooooo nervous because cops scare me, was going at *least* 20 over & I was driving someone else's car and didn't know if they'd believe me. But he ended up just giving me a warning. Luckily I didn't bring weed with me on that trip, in the event that I got pulled over for any reason. I don't carry weed in my car at all anymore since I got a small charge 5 years ago. Now that stuff is in everything. It’s not good at all ! I really hope more people will stop using and just smoke weed or drink in moderation. Maybe some shrooms but this hard stuff is not it because it is cut before it gets here and when it gets here some dealers cut it more so you never know the actual dosage. Very dangerous stuff. I cry sometimes just knowing some of the people grew up with are not here when I made it out and have kids now and get to go thru life. I know kids who died at 17. It’s a sad sad time. That weed was put there so the smell gives probable cause. Also if he truly meant to enforce speeding law, then WHY would he issue a WRITTEN WARNING FOR 93mph?!? He didn't care about the "speeding" they were looking for this specific vehicle the whole time. They were 100% screwed the very moment they got in that car and started driving.
