I just got a used 58’ Bodnik Slick Stick Longbow to match my 58’ Bodnik recurve!! Both are 40@28’ both are wonderful to shoot and Hunt with. No hand shock the bows point well and with a bit of practice very accurate.!
Good day folks, I have the exact same bow, but at 50# ,I've had this bow for quite a few years, no string silencers, no attached quiver, shooting 400spine, beeman centre shots, best bow I've ever had, very accurate shooter, this is my go to bow, never had a problem with this bow, same whisper string since I purchased the bow, I'm very glad on my investment ( almost 500 bucks here in canada), shakyjake out.
I have the 60" Slick Stick, 50#@28". Best bow I've ever owned. Before I got this bow I was shooting a custom longbow that cost twice as much. After shooting the Slick Stick I sold my other longbow and made the switch. I've been shooting the Slick Stick for a few years now and I still love it.
I had the same delamination issue. Lower limb at the riser. Warranty was honoured immediately. I believe Bodnik have changed to a more effective glue. We shall see.
One of the 2 best reviews on this bow on UA-cam. Was thinking of ordering one (I'm 5'6" so the 58 inch is fine for me.) well told the family this is what I'd like for Christmas. You "sold" it to me when I couldn't make up my mind lol, so cheers for that mate. Getting the 50lb (all my recurves are) as my draw is 26 inches so I'll be at maybe 46lb(ish) personally I like the matt finish but we're all different brother. Thanks again.
I have a 60”/40# Quick Stick. Love it! I’m 6’ 1” and I draw 29.5-30” and it feels great. Not a fan of the 8 strand FF string it came with though. I swapped out for a custom made string 14 strand D97.
I shoot a 52 inch bear Kodiak magnum and my draw length is almost 30 inches and I shoot 3 under with no finger pinch. So people with longer draws can shoot a shorter bow without finger pinch
I guess finger pinch is very a individual thing..I shoot a 48# 48" AMO recurve daily, and never have had the issue...but I've never shot any other bow so I don't have anything to compare to.
Can you compare the slick stick with the black hunter? I have the bearpaw mohawk. I feel like when i had the black hunter it was quiet and more shock free than my mohawk. Must be that diamond wood riser of the black hunter that makes it shock free also low noise!!
I can tell you that the black hunter is way less hand shock but that isn't to say that the slick stick is bad. It's just that the weight of the black hunter raiser seems to absorb the noise and shock better. I love my slick stick - got a really nice mature doe with it already this year. I have to tell you though... when i want to shoot I seem to be grabbing my black hunter more and more. I like the mohawk looks a lot but its disappointing to hear that you think the $100 bow was a bit better. What weight are you drawing with the mohawk?
@@ArcheryGeek both the Mohawk and black hunter longbows are 55 lb. I do have the older maple riser where the new mohawk has bubinga wood riser as that wood is heavier. I even liked the sound on release on the black hunter , a dull thunk . both are accurate!! 30 year warranty on the bearpaw cant be beat!! I had a limb tip delaminate and Bearpaw sent me new limbs free of charge!!
@@bradlauber9097 agree .. bearpaw is an awesome company to work with. 55lbs is way out of my league now and I am really enjoying 40-45. I find that my experience is going to be somewhat different with that 10lb shift to your experience though.
@@ArcheryGeek im from Canada so are legal limb weight on a trad bow is 45 lb for deer. Im a 29 inch draw and really do like to draw 53 lbs as it feels the most comfortable also accurate for me. I shot split finger and now im shooting 3 under. If you shot 3 under on your 58 slick stick you may not get finger pinch?
I love my Slick stick and my other Bodnik Bows you sure Clint beat them and there 30 year warranty. I like how quiet and smooth the draw is, also I subscribe to your channel and i ask you to subscribe to my channel thanks . And yes Tim and his wife at Kustom king Archery are great. Nice shooting and god bless.
Gary Wixson I had deer 🦌 stand accident over 5 year ago . 3 years in a nursing home , 2 in a wheelchair, today I can walk . Life everyday has challenges. 24 hours ago went through hurricane Delta . Hard times make you stronger. Good hunting brotherman ☝️ .
@@ArcheryGeek If you go to 3 rivers under the slick stick (recurve or longbow) you'll find plenty that mention breakage. In the first 10 I looked at under the recurve, there were 2 broken. One in a very common spot, right near the fadeout. I can't reasonably pick one up if I'm going to have to worry about durability. I'm not sure why they're having such trouble when even cheaper bows of $100 cost can stay together and shoot well. Not worth the risk for me. I'll probably stick with bear personally. Take care, if you have a good one, they're the best. With the 30 year warranty, I guess you know you'll be covered in any case.
I had one that delaminated after six months of shooting. It was purchased brand new from "bearpaw USA" on eBay. But they were no longer on eBay when it broke. So after several attempts to contact bodnik, I was told that I could ship it back to Germany and they would repair or replace it. All well and good but I was responsible for shipping, which would have cost $96. I will never purchase another bodnik bow. What good is a warranty if you have to pay $96 to have a $350 bow repaired. Very poor customer service. Good luck to the rest of the bodnik guys.
Mark Chambers I’m in a tree stand so I have a lot of time to respond lol. Which is to say I think anything under 62 inches is too short too. However in the poorly placed stand I am in I need a shorter bow. Also I’m most blinds short bows will work.
You have complained about a number of features you don’t like about this bow. Why don’t you just cough up enough money for a custom bow then you can get everything you want and stop complaining about a relatively inexpensive bow, enough!!!
Thanks for watching! Please remember to subscribe, it doesn’t cost you anything and it helps me a ton!

Thanks for this, Mick! I just ordered a 60" from a local shop and then went on UA-cam to feel good about my purchase. Nice to see you recommending it!

Yeah that is perfect advice
I have a Henry Bodnik longbow ( Byron Furgeson designed Z bow ) 64" and 60# @ 28" . It is the most silent bow of 8 that I own .
I shoot a 52 inch bear Kodiak magnum and my draw length is almost 30 inches and I shoot 3 under with no finger pinch. So people with longer draws can shoot a shorter bow without finger pinch
The same thing happened to my slick stick. Bodnik replaced it no problems.
I'd glue that delamination back down. See if it can be fixed.
Did you buy the broken bow from Kustom KIng? Or just contacted them?
bltefft just contacted them they were awesome

Split finger?

Hm. I figured the slick stick would be a step above the black Hunter? After reading this thread.... Not sure

Will do Sig Man. Thanks
You left it strung up for a month in your garage😳?
Why on earth would you want to do that?
Not something I would do.
It didn’t do it any favor.
Gary Wixson yep I think I mentioned that. Thanks for watching!
Modern bow, it's fine.
Awkward Seal absolutely should be

Oh my God. Why have so many of these delaminated ? I've heard about it way too much now
Awkward Seal you have? I thought I found one other guy on UA-cam that had bad limbs from Germany. Glad to hear I’m not the only one!

Hermoso arco 👍💪
Take some 600 to 1000 wet dry sand paper & rub it out. My is now smooth
Yes and then another coat of Polly .. I have to get around to that :)
Not fan of most short bows . Finger pinch in most I shoot . Good morning 😃

Genuine question, why do Americans always wear those hats?!
baseball caps? Im not sure. I'm Canadian and I don't always wear one. Lazy maybe?
