I swear.. every video you draw to shoot, then stop, let down and talk again.. hahahah I love it!!! Every video.. its so funny Love your personality Steve
Bow review starts at 17:55. Basically he says it's a good bow for hunting distances. "feels more hunting" (No, they don't make any bows in China. And they should come with a whisper string. He put his own string on it.)
I have been hearing really good reviews from bow makers about the cheap recurve take down "Black Hunter" Made in China but supposedly it's an amazing bow for the money. This bow you reviewed is really nice also. I only had $100 so I purchased the Black Hunter. Love your reviews!! Big fan!!
I have a black hunter it's a nice bow for the money and good for a first bow , I also have a bodnik bow there is no comparison the bodnik is far superior and far greater quality
Treated myself to one of the last Black Douglas bows made by Border Archery. 19 inch riser with just a shelf and 42# Hex 7.2 limbs Cost a fortune but ye God's it's nothing short of wonderful. It has a valley just like a compound
i have an anubis from bodnik with a 30 years garantie, exelent speed 50 lbs at 28" nice to draw, a bow came from the slick and quick stick family, super high quality stuff
Hey... I am from Austria and people round here shoot quiet often with those bows. The Bodnik Hunter Stick is not a longbow, nor is it a recurve... we are calling such bows hybrids. It combines the comfort and the rather soft pulling characteristic from the longbow with the speed (shape of arms is reflex-deflex) and agility from the recurve. I hope I could help a little bit out with understanding this topic.
Just have fun at the end of the day all I Wana do is get better same days my first shot is dead on but shit grouping personaly Im after consistency .I shoot a swa Spyder considered a cheap bow but definitely good enough for now
This is not a longbow, it's a reflex/deflex design. Bodnik normally term this a hybrid bow - being a hybrid of recurve and longbow designs. The reflex part of the limbs give this bow better performance so it wouldn't be fair to allow it to compete against true longbows in the longbow class. IMHO "longbows" with a pistol grip and shelf (Bodnik makes one called the Longbow) should also not be allowed to compete in a longbow class but I guess an arbitrary line needs to be drawn somewhere. I have a Black Hunter "longbow" and with it's reflex tips I have no problems with it being classified in the trad recurve division. My stickbow on the other hand qualifies in the historical division - it's literally a stick of wood that shoots wooden sticks! About as historical as you can get however it also qualifies as a longbow so I could enter either division.
Yes i thought this was the case as well but I keep getting the comments at my 3d club to "be careful to use a bowstringer with ASLs and RD hybrids as they are prone to limb twist". This, as I am stringing up my 15 and 20 year old ASLs using the push pull method. The lightest is a shade over 60lb at my draw length. I tell the well meaning ones that, 'if they were going to twist they would have done it a long time ago', lol.
@@kanyinak You could twist the limbs by using a wrench and applying a lot of strength but not with your bare hands .By the way I'm using the push pull method even with my "olympic" recurve .
14:34 wow!! You calling something stupid?? Maybe you should read the definition of a recurve bow and then the definition of a long bow. By your logic a recurve 66” bow or a 60” bow would classify as a longbow if I leave off a plunger, sight, clicker etc. So a 68” recurve BareBow is not a long bow, but a 60” hunting recurve is a longbow?
How about the Black Widow trad bows? I know people that r very loyal to them. I have a custom Bighorn recurve that's 62" & u can replace the limbs with the bolts that come out. I might want to do that cuz it's 65 lbs. @ 30". The reason I haven't shot it in a while.
nice bows but expensive (470 €), for 370 € you can buy a more precise 61" Falco Myth (400 € with carbon option), lots of woods ans colours, and very important, a more comfortable grip Bearpaw grips are for small hands, really...
Longbow requirements are designed to reflect the historical aspects of that class of bows!!! This is very common in one of my other hobbies, blackpowder rifle competitions. Classes for blackpowder rifles are designed to reflect the historical aspects of those rifles. If it were up to me I would eliminate any supposed longbow that has a pistol grip and that has modern reflex/deflex construction.
I'm OK with you with some stupid rules .IMHO this has to do with the lack of culture in the "upper part of the archery sport "elite" An elite that can produce NCO and foremen but nothing like real officers .I mean people with a real intellect .
Hi Zip String. You are wrong. Henri Bodnik is German, of course. But all Bodnik Bows are build in Tachov, Czech Republic. It is much cheaper to produce in the eastern European countries. Sorry, but that has to be told.

If you like the Bodnik Hunter Stick, you will love the Bodnik Quick Stick for sure.
Happy new year!

Black hunter is my first recurve. I bought it in China, only paid 60 CAD, definitely worth it for the money and is good for beginners
Treated myself to one of the last Black Douglas bows made by Border Archery. 19 inch riser with just a shelf and 42# Hex 7.2 limbs Cost a fortune but ye God's it's nothing short of wonderful. It has a valley just like a compound
Ripped off.

It's nearly impossible to twist the limbs of this kind of bow .You can do it easily with recurve limbs but not with a short hybrid bow .

Fast flight strings are faster and sometimes quieter than dacron ; Dacron works like a guitar string .
Hello Steven, I recommend you to checkout the longbows that Falco archery manufactures, very good prices and made by hand
Nice looking bow mate, you called it a long bow but looks like a recurve to me? Love it. Ok later in the video you explained. My bad dude

There is only half a handle on it.

So historical archers shot laminated flat bows and aluminium arrows?
Very talkative then review
The lower end bows might be made in Europe
They are made in the czech republic.

Bodnik is a great guy. He's german. Bows are made in Germany.
