I swear I was listening today and reliving the thought that this has to be an underrated drum song on all time....he rides this shit hard and it's perfect ......insane
Claiming both parties are the same is just lazy. Try reading the federal budget by year and by who is in office and you will learn a lot. Corporate dems are a problem when it comes to starting wars (1/3rd of democratic party), but the GOP is owned by corporations and is all in on wars (unless they affect an ally like Putin). Don't be lazy people. The dems have problems, but to say they are the same is not true, especially based on the legislation they pass and what they say and do.
A real band, with real musicians whose playing live is 1000 times better than all of the sad excuses for bands today. NO studio tricks, NO auto-tune,NO overdubs! 4 guys in their early 20s on stage and absolutely knocking it out of the park!!! This is the norm in the 60s and 70s. The 2 greatest decades for music without question! The musicianship, lyrical content, harmonies, quantity ,quality, variety, stage presence, vocal ability. You got it all. More enduring legendary bands, singers and musicians than any other decades bar none. Many performers still selling out football stadiums in their fucking 70s! Performing for over 50 years! Rock and Roll, blues, soul, progressive, motown, R and B,Heavy Metal, Harmony groups, singer song writer types,Funk and Disco!Tell me a better 20 year run than the 60s and 70s and I'll refer you to a psychiatrist! This performance is like a tsunami, earthquake, tornado and hurricane all rolled into one. Bill Ward annihilated those drums, Geezer Butler set that bass on fire! Tony Iommi on guitar and Ozzy! Need I say more???!
Plenty of Bands that still play live and loud all over the world, without all the fancy effects and auto tune, just talented musicians trying to make a living or just following their passion. They play in pubs and clubs and the lucky ones might get some support gigs for bigger bands, but guess what, no one goes out to support these bands, instead they just moan that they don't exist anymore and nothing will ever be as good again. The reason all the Rappers and the pop stars that use autotune and cant play an instrument are so popular is because people are voting for them with their wallets. If people want to hear some great rock music, find a local band or a band that is touring in your area and go out and support them, subscribe to their youtube channel, buy a CD, listen to them on spotify. To you Sabbath were the best thing ever, to your parents and grandparents generation they were just a bunch of long haired hooligans making a racket. There are great bands out there, they just arent as easy to find. Also I don't see anything wrong with overdubs, add ons or backing tracks as long as they serve the song and are used tastefully. But you are entitled to your opinion and that's fair enough, and I'm not attacking you personally, its just I've seen this comment so many times on so many videos. Rock still live, it just lives in the shadows, here it belongs in my opinion, as soon as the record company executives get hold of it they always fuc% it up anyway.
@@concept226 I also agree with you on record companies fucking up anything worthwhile because I know without a doubt if a group like steely dan or pink Floyd came out with their music today, the record execs would never release it. Back then some labels had artsy types heading the company and they backed bands with $ and let them play their style of music. That's why so many bands had that unique sound. It's all generic today like in sports, there is parity. Which is a nice word for mediocrity. Without innovative producers, engineers and record execs with a real ear for music you get what you have today. I think the best performer/writer/musician is Chris Stapleton. He's the real deal.
One of the baddest live bangers ever recorded! That SHXT just hits different! So freaking hard! Can you imagine in the late 60s early 70s when this came out. Mind blowing and still is!
It seems so foreign, to me, that there are people that don't know that Ozzy was originally in a rock band BUT, that THAT rock band was one of the three, LEGENDARY, UNHOLY TRINITY of ROCK BANDS! That being Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple . . . . . the OG's of heavy rock! It's so much fun seeing the younger generations discovering the greatness that I grew up with. MAN, WE HAD IT GOOD!
I remember when there were four pillars considered as the creators of the blueprint for hard rock. The three you mention, but also Uriah Heep. The solid wall of sound from Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, the mix of heavy and light from Led Zeppelin and Uriah Heep. I actually find it rather sad that Heep's been forgotten. The David Byron era was phenomenal.
Spot on bro. I was a big UH fan back in the mid to late 70"s. One of my fav tracks still to this day is a slow ballad "Rain" which showcases DB's voice nicely. Album "The Magician's Birthday".@@brolinofvandar
I wouldn't put zeppelin or deep purple in the same category as sabbath. They were rock bands, with zeppelin being a bit folky, sabbath was quite different.
The cool thing about Ozzie is he changes lyrics and his live versions constantly. This live version is very different lyrically than the studio recorded version but it sounds and feels the same.
I have always argued that Bill Ward is one of the greatest drummers, but always seemingly overlooked. Yes Ozzy was Sabbaths singer from their forming in 68 until 79 when Dio became the singer. Arguably the single most influential fathers of metal
I agree Bill Ward is one of the greatest drummers the hardest hitting of all time they always say John Bonham I put Bill Ward above anybody got to see him play eight times in my life never forget it
I saw them in the 80's with Gillan and then in the 90's with Tony Martin.(actually really liked Headless Cross). The last saw them in 98 when they did the ozzfest at MK Bowl. Got so drunk I got my nipple pierced. Still have it 25 years later.
First time I saw them was on the 1975 tour also. Greensboro, NC. I still have my ticket stub. They were $5.50 a piece. Man those were the good ole days.
The one thing I wish that the camera people would've shown more of the incredible Geezer Butlers bass wizardry. As a drummer myself I can tell you Bill is an incredible technician, fiery and relentless. To up the game he's playing with the heavier " butt end " of his sticks. They're all effin LEGENDS !!
I think it might have California Jam, but I saw Sabbath on TV back in the 70's. Geezer's hands were so fast on that bass playing Paranoid, the film couldn't keep up. His hands were a flesh blur in front of the instrument.
Cool reactiion. The good thing about this epic song about the evils of wars and the men who make them is that it never gets old. The bad thing about this epic song about the evils of wars and the men who make them is that it never gets old...
Never seen a good drummer who was fat. So much sweat in their boots at the end of a show they could put a fire out! And Tony Iommi on Guitar .. he had his fingers cut off and he still plays like that! Geezer and Ozzy.. and this is live in 1970 .. the sound is spot on .. what a treasure that the sound people and the film people (yeah it was film) did such an amazing job. The whole live in Paris film is amazing. Thanks so much for featuring this song. War Pigs.. shit they talk about in 1970 is the same today
My music late teens and every time I was just as fucked up as him. Thanks for doing this. Youth these days only really know him as this old funny dude from the TV show, but he is an ICON in the trinity of early heavy music.
Now that you have heard the original you should go check out Ren's old band, The Big Push and their cover/mashup of War Pigs that they posted from a live Busking Session (street performace,) the one where Ren is in red suspenders. They killed it and at the same time they put their own spin on it!! I was nervous to watch it because War Pigs is such an iconic song & I want sure they could do it justice but I hadn't seen The Big Push at that point and now I know what they are capable of making some incredible music Love the energy you guys bring to your reactions! NH says hello and the foliage is crazy this year up where I live past the Notches! Wanted to send you some love from your old state! ❤❤
Crazy story about that guitarist, Tony Iommi: When he was young he was planning on quitting his job at a metal factory and pursue being a musician. He wasn't going to go in to work on the day he was going to quit, but his mother told him he needed to.. He went and had an accident on the job, shearing metal on a machine. The machine ended up chopping off the tips of his finger on his fretting hand. You'd think that would ruin anyone's dream of ever playing guitar again. But he figured out a way to melt the tops on dish washing soap, and molded it to fit on the ends of his fingers, and he started playing again that way. If you look closely at his fingertips in live performances, you should be able to see him wearing stuff on the end of his fingers.
Ozzie just owns the stage but Bill Ward on drums on this song holy $hit, imagine being in this nightclub in Paris for this performance, it was when they were just starting to hit it big
Good reaction, guys! Yes, Ozzy was a musician before he became a tv parody of himself. Black Sabbath was incredible. Fun fact: the lyrics sung here are actually different from the lyrics on the album. I'm used to the album version so, of course, I prefer that version of the lyrics.... rock on!
This performance was just brutal power. Every member put every ounce of energy into the performance. Bill Ward looked like he ran a marathon by the end. Ozzy was non stop full tilt.
Love Sabbath. Welcome to the late 60s and early 70s when rock was as real as you can get and players played their asses off! Please consider doing Led Zeppelin‘s Whole Lotta Love the official video from 1969. They took blues to the next level, and influenced the whole world after them. You’ll love it!
Please react to Hand Of Doom, Sweet Leaf, Into The Void, Symptom Of The Universe, and Sabbra Cadabra. Sabbath are not just the progenitors of metal they made amazing early 70's sychedilica.
I was nine years old,, And I heard this playing out of my older brother's bedroom,,, It was terrifying😵💫 But since started my love for hard rock and heavy metal....🤘😊
I would love to see your reaction to "Hand of Doom" & "Rat Salad" (they go together). It's about a Vietnam Vet who can't get it out of his head and starts shooting up. They relate the experience musically. You guys will love it.
You can imagine how me and my friends reacted the first time we heard Sabbath, Deep purple and Zeppelin in the early 70s, we had not heard anything like it before. Well we had listen to Jimi Hendrix Bold as love album before this and their is some heavy stuff there and Cream and some other heavy bands that paved the way for the three Pioneers in heavy metal. The term heavy metal came later maybe in the late 70. back then i t was just Hard Rock.
War pigs as one of the greatest antiwar songs ever written if people would just sit down and read the lyrics, they would be amazed, but people didn’t see it that way simply because of the genre of the music
I saw Black Sabbath and Ozzy twice in Detroit back in the like 1970 - 73 at the Michigan Palace or Eastown Theatre. Can't remember which. It was in my Thai Stick daze and who knew. Ozzy was a beast too.
Didn’t know he was in a band? Oh man. He’s one of the 4 in Black Sabbath who created heavy metal. Dudes were responsible for an entire genre of music being created. Mind you this performance was in 1970 some 10 years before metal REALLY took shape. Ozzy is the pinnacle of heavy music and has been for 54 years.
The goats no auto tune no lip syncing pure musicianship unadulterated bliss. Better than Metallica, Rush, Tool 4 musical genius’s on display it’s 1970 no one had heard anything like this before! Into the Void, Hand of Doom more bangers from the Original gods of Metal! ✌🏻
That was a very young Black Sabbath doing a well known song from their second album, Paranoid. That was Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, and Bill Ward on drums. The original lineup, and one of the songs that made them famous. Apparently, Ozzy was singing in, I guess, French, at least part of the time. That was different. If you're not familiar with Ozzy's Black Sabbath work (really?), I'd suggest trying the very first song, Black Sabbath from the album Black Sabbath. Probably the lowest range you'll ever hear Ozzy sing in. Such a deep, sinister sounding voice.
Quick fact: Tony Iommi the guitar player had a wood shop accident when he was younger cutting the tips of fingers off on his fret hand. When he plays the SG he had in the video that feature on his hand gave his guitar sound a fat sound that has not been duplicated. Some things are meant to be
Wow its very interesting to hear how different people get introduced to musicians. I saw Ozzy on the Osbounres first too but i didt kno him back then. But getting into metal Black Sabbath was definitely an early band I got into so Ive always associated Ozzy with that, even way more than his solo stuff. Hearing someone say they didnt know he was in a band is definitely jarring lol, Black Sabbath is considered by many to be the first metal band
I love watching your appreciation of the music I grew up listening too in my house. You go to any metal shows? the way you were vibing here you would love it
Folks, c'mon now, this is 1970........Black Sabbath comes into the Capital of France.......the city of lights........one of the most beautiful and iconic cities on Planet Earth........and proceeds to destroy anything it their paths!!!!! This LIVE performance was epic! They sounded great, energy and emotion was thru the roof, and all band members rocked with their own solos and then were perfect together as a group! Bill went off on those drums! No auto tune, no lip sync, no altered sound, just pure talent, intensity, and being the greatest metal band ever! Metallica is a close second, just simply because their lyrics are so deep and thought-provoking! The only other artist to affect me this profoundly is Lucy Thomas!
can you imagine being in 1970 after living thogh the 60's and listinngi to 60's rock and all of a sudden your in the bar/pub and this band...these long hairs,.....play War Pigs....put yourself in that situation.
One of the most amazing live drum performances ever recorded. Bill Ward was such a beast, and could swing like mad too. Awesome.
Bill Ward is amazing on drums. He's right up there with Neil Peart, John Bonham and Keith Moon.
Idk didnt sound super impressive, kind of like the entire song lol just my opinion.
There was a Rumour Mr.Ward was caught for Murdering the Drums 😝🤘🏼
Moby dick by John Henry Bonham is the greatest drum solo ever he played on a kit of 5 drums end of debate
I swear I was listening today and reliving the thought that this has to be an underrated drum song on all time....he rides this shit hard and it's perfect ......insane
No click track, no backing track, no auto tune.... Just pure power
Amen Brother pure music!! Unlike today a freakin computer the new Generation uses!!! They can't even play instruments or write their own music!
Timeless song. Politicians red and blue. All war pigs. Feeding off of death.
Truth.
I feel you bro.
Ahh the old "it's both sides" so that no side is held accountable....smh
Claiming both parties are the same is just lazy. Try reading the federal budget by year and by who is in office and you will learn a lot. Most of the music back then was dog shit what are you talking about hahaha
Correct!
No social media to help them as it is today.
The cream of the crop rose to the top because of talent. And a little luck.
“I didn’t know he was in a band”. My heart hurts 😀❤️❤️🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽
Bill Ward just killed it on drums, one of the original beasts on rock drums.

Count Basey, Glen Miller, all the others…
Awesome, my home town band, one of the many great band from Birmingham England, much love across the pond🙏🦉❤️🐊👍
Every talks about Billy Ward murdering that drum kit (for good reason), but Geezer Butler's work on the bass is crazy town banana pants.
The cool thing about Ozzie is he changes lyrics and his live versions constantly. This live version is very different lyrically than the studio recorded version but it sounds and feels the same.
Sabbath and Ozzy are the true creators of what became mainstream metal around the world. Rock on and stay heavy!! \m/
I have always argued that Bill Ward is one of the greatest drummers, but always seemingly overlooked.
Yes Ozzy was Sabbaths singer from their forming in 68 until 79 when Dio became the singer.

+ then many more singers
Black Sabbath was the 1st live concert that I ever attended. Providence,RI 1975. YEAH I'M OLD😁
My first live concert was Journey Providence 1977, so right behind ya :) Sabbath in 80 at Civic Center

Speed machine bassist
These men are masters of their craft. That’s great music right there
Those drums owed Bill Ward rent.
Ozzie never sang very fast but usually was crystal clear with his vocals....love it.
Bill Ward, beating drums like a red headed step child that echoes across approaching six decades
Cool reactiion. The good thing about this epic song about the evils of wars and the men who make them is that it never gets old. The bad thing about this epic song about the evils of wars and the men who make them is that it never gets old...
song is about Satan brainwashing mankind
Such a fitting song for these times. The placebo effect is amazing.

OZZY!!!
Everyone thinks this was in Paris, it wasnt. That's also not a night club.
Notice how the drums sound like machine gun fire and bombs exploding.
Black Sabbath has the best lyrics of any band I've ever heard..Try War Pigs or After Forever...or both lol..and don't forget Sweet Leaf..
yes! sweet leaf is amazing, so is saboth bloody saboth
Heck Yeah, let's go! And ya'll did the correct version! YES, that's OZZY! 💚🤙
Good reaction, guys! Yes, Ozzy was a musician before he became a tv parody of himself. Black Sabbath was incredible. Fun fact: the lyrics sung here are actually different from the lyrics on the album. I'm used to the album version so, of course, I prefer that version of the lyrics.... rock on!

I love watching y'alls reactions to all the classics 🔥
One of the best live performances I've seen. So much energy!!!
Reminds me of learning to play guitar high school in New Hampshire
Definitely the reason Black Sabbath is one of the Greatest bands of our age lol
The Big Push version is worth your time. It's a medley of Black Sabbath/Ozzy/Rage Against The Machine songs. It's a great time.
Oh snap I thought this was A Live. Can’t wait to hear the reaction though. Ozzie can’t talk but can for sure belt it out 🥰💖💙🙏
This song was so new that Ozzy didn’t have the lyrics down. The band is on fire.
And...the Metal was born...and it was good.
Love Sabbath. Welcome to the late 60s and early 70s when rock was as real as you can get and players played their asses off! Rippin Song. Memories of the 70s. 🤟
It’s rumoured on that night if you listened hard enough you could hear bill smashing the kit from across the English Channel
custer heard it from the sioux after dance party...
Black Sabbath so good!
Please react to Hand Of Doom, Sweet Leaf, Into The Void, Symptom Of The Universe, and Sabbra Cadabra. Sabbath are not just the progenitors of metal they made amazing early 70's sychedilica.
First time I saw that 1970 performance I was blown away. After watching it at least 100 times since I still am!
awssome reaction you guys know Ren and the Big Push did this cover and its hard!? fun to see you guys get out of rap for a bit, hugs all around
This was great on vinyl when I was a kid in the 70s
Those drums owed him money.
I STARTED LISTENING TO THESES BANDS AND MANY MORE AS A 16 YEAR OLD BACK IN 1979 AND LOVED IT EVER SINCE
I was nine years old,, And I heard this playing out of my older brother's bedroom,,, It was terrifying😵💫 But since started my love for hard rock and heavy metal....🤘😊
Not recorded in Paris, France (like it wrongly says at the start of the video) but in Brussels, Belgium at the Paris Theatre...
If you haven't seen it ... Ren does a cover of this (more of a mashup) busking with his band The Big Push. It's amazing.
Just about every ozzy Song is good I love just about every song he's ever made with anybody
I'm listening to Ozzman right now let it die, one of my favorite
I would love to see your reaction to "Hand of Doom" & "Rat Salad" (they go together). It's about a Vietnam Vet who can't get it out of his head and starts shooting up. They relate the experience musically. You guys will love it.
Why isn't this highly recommended, absolute fire of 2 tracks
This song is so timeless still very relevant today . Beautiful song
You can imagine how me and my friends reacted the first time we heard Sabbath, Deep purple and Zeppelin in the early 70s, we had not heard anything like it before. Saw them live. Life changing. ❤
Izzy just loved performing…. What a grin😊
I'm loving the old rock band reactions.
I'd love to see some Rush reactions - the best band outta Canada.
Best metal song ever written. No one will convince me otherwise. And holy god in heaven...Bill Ward went even more nuts live than normal
War pigs as one of the greatest antiwar songs ever written if people would just sit down and read the lyrics, they would be amazed, but people didn’t see it that way simply because of the genre of the music
imagine hearing this in 1970 when "Metal" wasnt even a thing yet . this must have been the hardest damn thing people heard at the time
Great anti-war song, love it! Ozzy is a legend! Thank you Ozzy for your service!
HELL DOUBLE YEAH~~~
Love all of Ozzie music ❤
❤ What a band.
Bill Ward is a machine on those drums and he was the investor of Hiphop drumming and rhythm . I
INCREDIBLE
Thanks again you guys 🔥🔥
I saw Black Sabbath and Ozzy twice in Detroit back in the like 1970 - 73 at the Michigan Palace or Eastown Theatre. Can't remember which. It was in my Thai Stick daze and who knew. Ozzy was a beast too.

Better than Metallica, Rush, Tool 4 musical genius’s on display it’s 1970 no one had heard anything like this before! Into the Void, Hand of Doom more bangers from the Original gods of Metal! ✌🏻
Black Sabbath...when Dio started singing...Heaven and Hell...Last in Line...holy diver!!!!!
Beating those drums like they owe him money. #Goat
My all time favorite song! I even have a war pigs tattoo
Perfect song for 2023. Unfolding war events today are what this song was speaking about. Pay attention people. YT cenzorz comments about this.
To be fair the kids do also look like Sharon, its just Sharon hasn't looked like Sharon for about 40 years. 😋 SHAAARRRRUUUUUURRN!!!!
Still the Greatest Hard Rock/Heavy Metal song of All Time! Still.
Bill Ward man. Dude worked the drums like no other.
Gotta do sweet leaf by them ! Studio version i think u can guess what its about ;)
Hey guys, that's great but you've got to hear the studio version with headphones.
Diary of a madman
Bringing me back to my early teenage years!!! ❤
Quick fact: Tony Iommi the guitar player had a wood shop accident when he was younger cutting the tips of fingers off on his fret hand. When he plays the SG he had in the video that feature on his hand gave his guitar sound a fat sound that has not been duplicated. Some things are meant to be
It was in a sheet metal factory he was working at as a teenager - it was the last day he was supposed to be working there
They were making wicked head banging metal in 1969 when most rock bands were still doing hippy flower power stuff.
HI TO YOU BOTH FROM SHEFFIELD YORKSHIRE ENGLAND YES THIS IS 1 OF 5 BANDS THAT STARTED ALL THE NETAL SOUND
It's funny ozzy u can't understand talking when he does interviews but when he sings it's crystal clear. 🔥
Ground zero for Metal.
People used to say John Bonham of Led Zep was the best rock drummer but this guy takes some beating! What a drummer!
Used to say ? The same people who said that then ,still believe that now...............nothing has changed on that one my friend. :)
Check out the original version of the Song titled "Walpurgis" way more sinister lyrics.
I want to sing along really bad but everytime i see a different instance of this song live.....the lyrics change🤣
The song was originally called Walpurgis and had different lyrics. Ozzy uses lyrics from both Walpurgis and War Pigs here. 😁
Try Rens Band BigPush cover of it 🔥🔥🔥
I love watching your appreciation of the music I grew up listening too in my house. You go to any metal shows? the way you were vibing here you would love it
Bill Ward is beating those drums like they owe him money!
Was 11 when I first heard this song. Saw in concert at 14.
Ozzy at his finest.
can you imagine being in 1970 after living thogh the 60's and listinngi to 60's rock and all of a sudden your in the bar/pub and this band...these long hairs,.....play War Pigs....put yourself in that situation.
