Are you using more than one brush for lighter and darker colors? Or are you using one and wiping often and not showing the wiping ? thanks

With gouache I work fairly quickly and will use water or just wipe the brush on a towel lying next to the palette. Mostly I don't notice now that you mention it. I don't have different brushes for lights/darks
