So glad to see you doing Gouache again. Watching and listening is pushing me closer to take the plunge. LOL. Plus you have such a sweet spirit. Blessings.
I tried the gouache, and even learned how to spell it. 😂 I mainly learned that I need to learn more. Haha! I vote for more how to gouache videos, Lindsay. LOVE this subject of north woods and water. More of landscapes, please? Thanks!
Loved it Lindsay, this is beautiful. I love the beauty of the nature. Yes, a cabin in the woods just relaxing and painting sounds like a great idea to me. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Thanks Lindsay! DS gouache looks great. I enjoyed listening and watching you paint. I’m working with Holbein gouache and love it! I put my gouache in a ceramic palette with big wells and mixing area. A few cracked so I added little more. I wake up and it’s ready to go like watercolor.💕 You’re painting is lovely. I’m booking a cabin in woods with water. A sleeping bag for under the stars. Best ever! Kindred spirits 💕
i was very happy and inspired by this. I have gouache but only use it to enhance my watercolors - now I need to try a painting with just gouache ! Thank you again
Thanks for the beautiful and quick gouache painting! I loved it! Talking about paintings I loved I have to be honest the signal light you did was an entire vibe. I'm not even sure why I loved it so much but it just had that vintage grunge look that captured a feeling of an era to me not just an average street signal. For whatever reason I've thought of it a few times already and immediately was wishing it was a tutorial. Just wanted to share my appreciation! 😂
@@thefrugalcrafter Yeah! I'm so excited and can't wait! While waiting I'll get started on your 30 day class. I've been procrastinating starting thinking I need more practice first, but this gives me a reason to just start so I'm not so intimidated! 😁
Nice. We have such a lake 1 hour drive away from home, where my husband likes to go fishing. So it was interesting to watch you paint this scene and get some insights. I did paint it plain air but with watercolor.
Hullo Lindsay, beautiful Video so wonderfully done! Excellent gouache technique too! I rather like the fact that your using gouache for world watercolor month! I get a little irritated when people say acryl-gouache is the same. It is NOT! I think of that product as simply flat acrylic paint! It may look like gouache but it will NOT re-wet, nor lift, and dries with a greater color shift than regular gouache. Sorry I seem to go into to much detail in many of my comments to you, I do apologize. I guess it is because your so approachable and your knowledge is ever growing and I really like that about you. I am still learning and still feel like I need to know MORE! I have only been painting with watercolors for 50 years and I just don't know how anyone says they know it all? How can anyone know everything about this ever changing medium? New papers? BOOM! New ways to work! Vegan sizing? Yep old watercolor paints are new again! Thanks for continuing to be an exciting channel to watch! Congratulations on finishing a strong 31 day challenge! I believe every painting was well done, no days rested on your laurels! Please take care and I am also looking forward to your signal light video! Have a Lovely Day!
@thefrugalcrafter I don't completely understand the difference between gouache and watercolor other than , gouache is opaque so you can maybe paint over it, like with acrylic or oils, but not as much, and watercolors are transparent so other than being able to lift a little, basically what you lay down is more permanent, kind of like watercolors don't have erasers/do overs/repairs but the other mediums do. Simplostic but that's how I see it.
I'm so excited for this! Only problem is that I'm moving next week, so I've already packed my gouache at the bottom of a box (and I wanna do this nooooow!). 😅 I'll be trying it out as soon as I'm settled, though! Thank you so much for this!
Hi Lindsay, thanks so much for the great tutorial! QUESTION: I have Reeves Gouache I've never painted with and would like to soon. I suppose they are not lightfast, do you know?

Loved this, Linsay. Brings back memories of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It's interesting to see how you can use Gouache to look like watercolors.

I'm curious about gouache. Watching you, it IS SO much different than watercolor. Bi do solely watercolor. Think I will stick with it. ❤
Have fun!
This one too! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I heard the M Graham gouaches are nice!
Yes they are!
