- This gouache painting tutorial will show you a process to follow for light filled landscapes. 🌻 From simplifying the scene into big shapes, light and dark values to layering color to build up light. In simplicity there is a strength and that is what I want in my paintings.

Thanks Malcolm, I just ordered some of the Holbein acrylic gouache. I can’t wait to try this painting from my car because we have snow here and temps are below freezing!
Wow - Have fun!
Loving your gouache paintings
Thank you 😊

Very nice demo. I like how you use the photo as a very loose guide. It is also great to watch your colour mixing and application. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you.
Thank you David, glad it helped you.
Love it! 💕
Thank you so much! I've been get into painting for hobby, your channel is very helpful, I love these technique a lot but don't know how to paint. Now I found your channel !!
You are so welcome!
Absolutely love your work, these tutorials are incredibly helpful thank you :)
My pleasure, thank you.
love it, thanks for sharing your beautiful art.
My pleasure 😊
Love your gouache demos - notice they studio-based. Do you use gouache outdoors at all, on location , or would these paints be tricky to handle 'plein air' ?
Thank you. Gouache work great outdoors too. Quick drying is the benefit or challenge. But for a quick outdoor sketch they are excellent.
Many thanks. Would you consider doing some plein air videos sometime,
using gouache? It'd be great to see.
does that palette keep your gouache wet? if yes, can you namedrop the type of palette it is?
Yes the palette does have a sealed lid that helps to keep the paint wet for several days. See the link in the description to the stay-wet-palette
Sir, what kind of tape do you use? The tape I used always tear the paper. Thank you!
Regular hardware store masking tape. I did have this problem with cellulose papers. The cotton paper is fine. Use 300g paper as this seems to help too.
Do you add anything to your gouache to extend the drying time?
No I do like the quick dry quality (usually:)
