I have an ex from many years ago doing that. He texts me on particular occasions, whines about having been left by a women, sometimes he mentions how we need to meet up some time. And then, out of nothing, he just disappears for months. It doesn't hurt me, because I am totally over him, but it rather amuses me how predictable his actions are. He was my first love, and from seeing what his life is like these days, I am more than happy that he has not been part of my life since then.

Never thought I would see your face. I remembered that the dating guy left, I typed his name to se if he was back and saw your video on him.
I did have a call with you Rory, and he helped me with some emails.
I still want to thank you and him, coz you helped me so much when I was heartbroken. You guys, in part, made me be who I am today. The happiest version of myself. So thanks Rory, and thanks to the long gone dating guy.

I don’t know why but I always come back. Even though I have a gf, I still support Rory. BTW, my ex doesn’t breadcrumb me at all. Good thing though, since I have a new gf and I don’t won’t drama. Just work on yourself and it you will grow to accept it. It’s okay if you fail from time to time, just dust your feet and knees off and keep on going. That’s it, you will grow to accept the break up and it will still hurt(somewhat) but the message is more that it hurt you so you can grow!!!!! I hope this helps. Some 😂exes may comeback, some may not, or it might be years . Who knows? Don’t gamble on someone who gave up on you, just keep going and growing. It may be hard but you will learn to do it from time to time. Source: I was in your footsteps at once.

for my situation i wasn’t needy in the relationship but i made a mistake that my ex forgave me for (not cheating or lying or anything) and after he felt like he was forcing himself to stay in the relationship and we broke up. got back together the next morning. broke up again a few weeks later when i wanted us to talk more about fixing things. before things were really good for almost the entire 1.5 years and if it wasn’t it was bc he had done something. anyway no contact 2 months now
Hi, Rory. So in your opinion, is breadcrumbing a good sign or bad? My girlfriend of 2 years dumped me 9 days ago. I began no contact immediately and the breadcrumbing began on days 8 and 9. Statistically speaking, does that mean she's having second thoughts and getting closer to reconciling? Thank you for your insight.
My ex reached out after three months after the breakup. Asked if I’d be open to meet up. He offered to come to my house and even wanted to see my dog. I said sure I’m open to that. Then I stayed quiet til he reached out later in the week to set up a date. but his follow up was weird. He said that even though our relationship is over, he felt we never had a chance to say goodbye to it in a way that was important. He doesn’t want to never speak to me again. That would be like throwing something away…the text was confusing to me and threw me into another cycle of anxiety. why ask for closure after three months of no contact? I politely responded that I agreed we never had a proper goodbye - but if the meeting is for closure, I think it might open up wounds that are healing. If he’s ever open to starting again, I’d love to have that conversation. I left it at that, and haven’t heard back. Guess it’s back to no contact?
What about messages that were recalled? I woke up to a missed message from him but saw that he recalled it.
What if they said they still love you and didn’t want the breakup but had no other choice?
I can think of very few situations where this is the case
