It was preplanned .. Ranbir and shraddha... TJMM story is different, I personally so like this movie i can relate to the subject. makers wanted to give a message to society.. it's a story about journey of a couple's dating, courtship period and anxiety about the wedding..in that journey families play most important role. If you see they have not over dramatized the story they wanted to keep it real, in real life nobody gives a shit about what couple is doing, what matters the most is family.. Couple kya Baat kar rahe in front of the world and all they are not bothered about it. It kinda well mechanised stage drama.. Just watch the movie again and remove any xyz character from the story, you will not like it than . They wanted to show that love for the family unconditional, and as we say in India two families got married not just two individuals .. TJMM was like stage drama with super entertaining characters...ranbir and shraddha said about this after movie got super hit..
I dont know if its true or not but i read it on social media that ranbir and shraddha had an offscreen affair at the sets ... alia bhatt forgave ranbir for cheating but wanted him to maintain a distance with her ... this whole narration seemed like coming from a ranbir hater but seeing their awkwardness towards each other even at launch event which was the only public event they were on same stage .. was soo ODD that it made me rethink about this narration ... specially when i read an article where shraddha kapoor was talking about being cheated as if ranbir cheated her too.. not being judgmental here but cheating doesnt sound someting new to ranbir's image ...

I am simply heartbroken that films like Jagga J, Bhavesh Joshi S and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy won't have any sequels. So much going for those movies, such volcanoes of talent involved in them, and yet owing to circumstances not remotely related to the merits of the movies, we would be deprived.
Bhavesh Joshi and Vikram were the best cinematic experiences of mine. I only knew name of BJS and was utterly clueless about Vikram. Both were nonexistent to me. But I made a choice of watching both and was blown away both times. I just want to say that bad promotion might hamper B.O but it cannot affect the legacy of movie If the movie is great. Everyone will eventually love it.
Slightly wrong marketing - Animal - Sold as Father Son relationship, violence and all!!! There was no good violence nor was there depth/focus in father son bond. I wanted much more of it in the second half instead of those random side quests Oddly Guntur Karam too - Producers were raving how its a film like Athadu, going to close to RRR telugu numbers etc etc. They should've promoted it as a simple film and atleast the result would have been a bit better. The one good change i see these days is that producers have realised that spending money on promoting a movie may not be fruitful. For eg, Shabaash Mithu, Tejas, Selfie, Shezada, Ganpath were promoted very well, but none of these films have had even a good opening day. I think going fwd producers will spend less time and money on film promotion like itvhas akways been in south.

Bhavesh Joshi, Jagga Jasoos and Tamasha were great movies but I believe personal bitterness amongst the lead actors and poor promotional strategy led to their downfall. Tamasha is seen as a cult classic now but never got its due when it was released in theatres. Just the song CHALI KAHANI from the movie is a whole movie in itself encapsulating so many stories within a span of 5 minutes.
Amongst those movies I believe there's a part for "Jigartanda Double X" as the marketing contents weren't so hyping regarding the plot. SUch a movie, but such a waste of promoting chance.

DUDE! Fighter was so good and sincerely made film by sid anand. Such a great movie experience i had after a long time with my papa on republic day, i had a smile throughout the film. I also found it so odd when Ranbir and Shraddha did not appear together even for one single interview during the promotions. It was irritating because this was their first movie together. I heard rumors that Alia secretly didn't allow it but i could be wrong And yes, the interviews of Jagga Jasoos were so uncomfortable and cringy to watch. I especially did not like Ranbir's behaviour towards Kat like he was looking down on her. And ofc you had to include Chappak promotions. Actors are free to take a stand but when you're one of the top actresses, your reputation seriously matters. One wrong move and it's over. I remember there was so much hate on Deepika, the audience collectively decided to boycott the movie that otherwise could have been a hit. Badhai do is such an underrated film. They have no right to talk about morality or anything. So they need to stop preaching.

I don’t believe in this concept of ‘A good film shouldn’t have to market itself’ like that’s not the point. If you market a film correctly with adequate pacing and a decent budget, it’s great. There have been movies that I never knew released or heard on the grapevine due to some obscure interview.

Then we as a nation have no right to hope/expect celebrities to express their opinions or make a stand for anything similar to Hollywood celebs. This was a complaint some people raised during the many protests that happened in the last few years..

Tamasha would have benefitted tremendously from better promotions. Maybe, the makers just wanted to ride the coat tails of a superhit Yeh Jawani hai Diwaani with the 'it' lead pair and let Tamasha create its own success. But, Tamasha was way more than a frothy rom-com and audience did not watch it with any better expectations. Hence, the commercial loss for a beautiful movie.
I think Deepika didn't stood in solidarity for marketing but what she truly stands for. I genuinely respect her for that. That increased her brand value for me because not everyone can see beyond their work.
When wearing a dress again is termed as sustainable, then I'm sure "struggle is real " I don't think we should talk about struggles of star kids. It will stop once they have talent. People automatically stopped trolling Alia once she started acting.
You could also analyse the same for other industries as well. The makers of Anjaan had hosted a teaser success meet, literally. I mean that the teaser was so stylish, but this was way overboard. On top of that Lingusamy said "i have mastered all the tricks i had learnt with this film" in interviews. When the film released and found it to be another generic commercial entertainer, the director became a meme material
I remember when Tara Rum Pum was released in 2007! Saif Rani were already a hit pair..it was April vacation time and plus the film had decent music and story…it could have been a huge success if it was promoted well!! There were absolutely zero promotions of that film…Still it managed to be above average/ Semi-hit! It could have been a major success though
Your undying love for Tamasha is literally undying. Maybe some part of your personal life might be resonating with it, but in reality it was an average movie and Ranbir was doing the same repetitive 'soul searching' act which he started from Wake Up Sid.
I agree with everything except the Deepika Pudokone piece. What she did was prove to us that sometimes, it is the audience that fails the film and not the film's promotion.
The thing is formula films will not work in today’s environment. Just because some action flicks worked in the past, doesn’t means every action entertainer will work and frankly speaking Indian audience no more want chest thumping brand of nationalism. We want to see something nuanced and believable as in case of Sam Bahadur or Family Man where patriotism is not shove down our throat but is shown in action.
I just don't know how to articulate it, but post her JNU visit, DP substantially lost the ground level hype that used to be associated with her. She hasn't lost her stardom or charm, but I just don't know why people do not show as much excitement when they hear DP is in/or doing so and so film as they did in 2012-15. Or maybe all her teenage fangirls grew up
JNU full anti Indian hai yeh sabko pata hai left wingers ne pura kabza kar rakha hai udhar aur CAA NRC India ke acche ke liye hai aur uspar bhi DP ne against bol diya
Honestly speaking, kids born after 2008 have no interest in Bollywood. They primarily are into Kdramas, anime and Insta Reels. So the point is, hype around bolly celebs is gradually gonna permanently vanish since the GenZ literally has so much going on and have so many options that Bwood and its celebrities are gonna become irrelevant if they do not reinvent themselves to the taste and likings of this generation. I don't even know what's stopping them from creating compelling romantic dramas like they make in Korea ...romance used to be our USP.

Did DP going to JNU cause a political stir? Yes. BUT- you ALSO have to admit that compared to Raazi and Talwar, Chappaak was an inferior product. The script could've been tighter- yes, I get the high-road MG claimed, saying the criminal was not important, that she didn't want any spotlight on him- but the movie had a weird montage-like feel, without establishing anything about any character- who was Malti? was she happy, loved, looking to a bright future, what were her aspirations- Nothing!! Yes, the crime is horrific, but nothing was done to get the audience invested in the Pre-attack Malti, for them to root for her fight- the cause is simply not enough, from a cinematic pov. MG is delusional if she thought the script deserved more than what it got. As for JJ, it was premium assholery on RK's part, out for display. KK, on the other hand, was dignity personified. Whatever he may be today, he was a horrible person back then.

Understood the power and need of proper marketing strategy of a film today. Though Ranbir & Sradhha's pairing gave SIBLING vibes to me from the very beginning by just seeing the poster, today after realizing the importance of role play of marketing of a movie, i can say that "THE SIBLIING" vibes between the kapoors could have gotten helped had there been some interactive promotional interviews.

I think long trailers that give away every punch line and twist are the worst and also starting promotions way in advance. One thing I differ in opinion from you is Dobara. It was just a bad movie. I couldn’t make it through the first 10 minutes.
In hindsight, maybe Luv Ranjan did a good thing in not placing Rnabir and Shraddha in a single frame. With Ranbir's history of foot-in-mouth moments, and also his recent marriage that had people dissecting everything he and his new wife did (not to mention questioning their relationship), it was probably better not to give them more fodder to make up stories about the new pairing before the film had even released.

Komal Nahta as always had accurately predicted that the movie wil open low for reasons other than marketing as well. A classic analyst and no JAMMY PANTY4 can hold a candle to him.
Tamasha had the potential to be a masterpiece, and this could have been achieved by providing Tara's character with more significant screen time in the second half.
According to me the main problem with Shikara was- 1) Editing- The film was overly edited. It either left important aspects or made it look vague for example- the scene where the politician enters the hospital or Shanti's friend's death- there was neither a given context nor any detail as to who were they and what happened to them, leading to a vague and less impactful storytelling. It just seemed like jaldi jaldi re-edit karna hai taaki controversy na hojaye (because there was a PIL against the film by some Kashmir politicians). In short, too many important aspects were cut out, making the film, overly chopped. The film had too many quick jump cuts, leading to confusing the audiences. 2) Timing- The film was released around the CAA-NRC protests, when things were heavily polarised and political. Ideally, they should have waited for the matters to die down before the release. 3) Poor Crisis management- When there was backlash against the film, the makers should have accepted their failures and not mocked the critics and audiences

Yes it should go back to old days, Instagram, to show the poster, everyone is following them, youtube to show the trailer and show the trailer on main tv too, posters on streets too it's enough no need for all this promotion they doing which is personal lives and political views.

You could also analyse the same for other industries as well. The makers of Anjaan had hosted a teaser success meet, literally. I mean that the teaser was so stylish, but this was way overboard. On top of that Lingusamy said "i have mastered all the tricks i had learnt with this film" in interviews.
Please make a film about Srijit Mukherjee's Bengali cop universe.
Selfiee wasn't a bad movie.. and the more work Emran Hashmi gets as an actor the better. The song promos were dumb... and Akshay saturation of consecutive Akshay Kumar nonsenses in that year was a severe problem.
It's a remake bro.... the original itself was above average film. And they have worsened it with cringe making.
@@tallurirahul5077 Yes I know it's a remake.. but wasn't a bad film... though I haven't seen Driving License. I agree about the cringe music part. I guess those were put in just to show he's a film star. But much worse than the lovely music of Billu despite it being a remake of Kuselan

The apparent statement about Ranbir and Shraddha not promoting the film together because they wanted to show their CHEMISTRY ON SCREEN was nothing but a cover up on their little affair going on during the movie! 😌😌
Delhi-belly's promotional video was fun😂
5:33 .........Achhaaaaaa 😅😅😅😅
Understood the power and need of proper marketing strategy of a film today.
Though Ranbir & Sradhha's pairing gave SIBLING vibes to me from the very beginning by just seeing the poster, today after realizing the importance of role play of marketing of a movie, i can say that "THE SIBLIING" vibes between the kapoors could have gotten helped had there been some interactive promotional interviews.
i am glad you included shikara ,,, and well done by talking less about it coz thats what everyone really felt for the movie ..... the only reason we watch your videos not beacuse you have a vocabulary that we dont get hahahaha but you are truthfull,, apart from hritik movies hhahahahahaha
Bro need your views on Sergeant...have you already done it??? didnt find among your videos
Jagga jasoos promotion was insane i still get occasional cringes...like no matter what youre going through atleast be civil and professional...it was so mortifying to watch

This "achcha" was both "achchaaa" and "achcha... Hamko sikha riya hai"

5:32 That *_Achha_* 👌
I think long trailers that give away every punch line and twist are the worst and also starting promotions way in advance.
One thing I differ in opinion from you is Dobara. It was just a bad movie. I couldn’t make it through the first 10 minutes.
I personally think Deepika was iconic for the jnu move. The promotional shouldn’t have been prioritized anyway.
Is it just coincidence that most of these tragic promotions are for Ranveer Kapoor's films. 😂
I watched bhavesh Joshi just on a whim on a bored weekend in 2022, but that's an experience and I wondered why the movie didn't get the spotlight it deserved. I still consider the movie as the best superhero movie from India. I'd rate it even above the iron man movie
One more problem with celebrity was they don't go to anyplace unless there movie is realising which make it feel like they are not genuine
11:44 got me so off-guard 😂😂😂😂
I remember when I was not agreeing with your dunki review that you felt underwhelmed by it but I am glad I never saw that abhijat joshi speech about Dunki being the best Raju Hirani film....i would've been disappointed for sure....but had limited expectations from trailer the reason i was able to enjoy it ...I even stay away from the promotion campaign of fighter....i did enjoy it as well.... but sometimes in cases like animal the trailer and marketing was so perfect i was left disappointed with the final product its better to stay from these campaigns if your genuinely interested in a film teaser trailer are enough
I have to say it’s only DHARMA Productions and karan Johar in india who have got the marketing BANG ON always
According to me the main problem with Shikara was-
1) Editing- The film was overly edited.
