The recent song featuring #triptidimri just did not land well but in sharp contrast #sharvari was absolutely brilliant in her song, what is the difference? And what makes a hindi film heroine! Another two songs that I like to mention are Kajra Re of Aishwarya Rai and Chhamma Chhamma from China Gate. Both the actresses have done a great job there whenever I watch these two mudic videos on UA-cam I forget that that these are item numbers

Tripti has a very beautiful face. I feel her face looks European, almost Italian. Simple, minimal makeup and simple outfits suit her. Shiny, gawdy outfits and crazy dance moves are not for her. She looked angelic in her initial movies and even in Animal. Let's give Tripti some time. She will figure it out.

I don’t understand the hatred Tripti is getting at the moment. She did the movie Animal and for a kissing scene she became an overnight sensation and audience made her viral for all the wrong reasons. Later when she used the new found fame and bagged commercial films with established actors and production house audience is bashing her for doing skin show and doing movie except award oriented movies. When she did Qala, Bulbul or Laila Majnu only a small section of the audience supported her and her films were mediocre hits. If she would have continued with films like those she would have vanished soon from the industry like many other actors. Audience is really hypocrite and just wants something to hate on. After the covid I feel like hating everyone is the new trend.
There was a section of audience who wholeheartedly loved Tripti in those movies (myself included) and absolutely hate her recent movies. They feel betrayed

Tamanna in "aaj ki rat" is another example of item number with grace and charm. It shows if done right these dance numbers can look really beautiful.

All items songs are vulgar at its core. Its the epitome of objectification of women and a glamorization of the danger a real life bar dancer is in when she is surrounded by lustful men. Just becoz the choreography is good doesnt make it any less vulgar. Item songs serve no purpose and should never exist in a movie.

Vicky Kaushal's Tauba Tauba has been the biggest sensation since Sheila/Munni... the dance steps are a rage still. Big feat to create such euphoria in the times of internet and shrinking attention spans.

I remember Saroj Khan once mentioning that she takes some time to test waters with the actors, to know where they stand in dancing, and only then she choreographs according to their strengths.
This dance, if was choreographed well, could’ve hyped up Tripti and the film so much better.

Noone has a problem with Tripti's newfound star status, I think the main discourse was bollywood trying to capitalise on the whole 'sensual' buzz because of that one steamy role and making unnecessary songs. That hastily shot 'Bad newz' song was bizzare. And it seems to continue with this movie too.

The choreography and placement of the song itself was unnecessary on a film that serious! It still works for the spy universe but the same template in a film on Pulwama is rather tone deaf

I never felt Fighter was about Pulwama attack due to weak villian in the story. I enjoyed Fighter, because of how good the camaraderie between the characters was. Movie was about Patty's character for me. A confident yet arrogant pilot & his story arc. And more of his chemistry with his friends, i will always gonna remember Fighter as a film for it's freindship and Patty's character.

Are Bulbbul and Qala actually that good? Sometimes I think I watched a completely different film. Both are mid, but yeah we can say a little different from the crap we see from Bollywood. Tripti was average at best in those films.

Glad u brought it up. If u have paid attention to the lyrics of the song, it's a polar opposite of what similar other songs. It talks about her as a person and her desires, and I believe there was no focus on sexual innuendos.

People often criticise Animal for Tripti Dimri's so called 'downfall' which i think is absolutely wrong. Animal gave her fame and she should've capitalised on that by jumping to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Dhadak 2 directly, rather than choosing bad scripts like bad newz. It created a bad image of her, bad newz immediate next film after Animal. She did great in Animal (watch post-credit scene).

She knew what role she was choosing
I feel Tripti became known because of the aura of innocence she carries. Her overall essence is quite angelic. Thats why she excelled in roles that weren't over the top. Even in Animal her role didn't require her to be loud in her performance. The roles she is sigining for now are off her spectrum, not that she doesn't have the capability. When i saw the video featured here, my first thought was that she is not a commercial heroine. The bollywood masala feature film is not her lane. She can do them, sure, but she is not cut out for these roles. She has an old school charm, trying to fit in a mould that doesn't accomodate her will injure her prospects in the long run.
The audience is easily primed. This is why we constantly criticize TRIPTI while overlooking the Ananya Janhvi and future Shanaya chances they get. The first two being senior actors with zero range playing the same characters with zero variation. Katrina Kaif has a range and has always been overlooked by audience priming to srill hold her to her acting in her first 3 movies.

Priyanka in Ram chahe Leela is the Epitome of Grace yet sexy! She is a complete Hindi film heroine in a real sense. She has the face card, the fashion icon she is, both commercially and critically acclaimed, the offscreen persona, the wit and everything. Since the 2000s, she has been the best female superstar so far, slightly followed by Kareena Kapoor. Katrina had the dance but above average expressions, Kareena had the expressions but above average dance but Priyanka had the both. At the end all three of them were the queens of the 2000s!

Even as a woman we would dance on Sheila ki deewani not due to the lyrics but the influence of video dance which showcases graceful but while watching Ayesha Khan item number I felt so uncomfortable and also it's trending reels with slow motion.
Back in the day we were not allowed to perform ek do teen dance in our schools.😂

Siddhant Chaturvedi is a MASTERFUL dancer.. he is under the radar because of him not being able to appeal to the theater going audience and masses.. but Zoya Akhtar cast him in Gully Boy because she saw him dancing in a party in the first place!
From the interviews I have watched of Sharvari , we get to know she had put her efforts in everything until it was up to mark and that is one reason why I love her. Tripti needs to unlock her hidden potential and I would totally love if her choices in project changes , she was good in bulbul and laila majnu but then again I can not blame her.
The dance also depends on the choreographers and screen presence. The steps was good and sharvari did justice to it and the film got the promotion also. The dance steps in vicky vidya was so awful like cockroach dying and people instead are trolling instead of talking about the film. Tripti will take a time to make screen presence in songs for a while. 3:26 and a sad reality too

Honestly, I think Tripti Dimri is going through the classic actor’s popularity paradox which is all about gathering attention for all the wrong reasons.
Tripti shouldn’t be restricted to ‘spicy’ numbers. She should be in more soft and delicately choreographed songs.

3:12 Maybe I fall into that category. For example, I was a fan of BTS before they became famous worldwide. I mean, I'm still a fan of them but not crazy for them. As a fan, I don't feel connected to them if they get famous and more people join their fandom all of a sudden. You feel they aren't exclusive to you. Triptii Ji is a graceful woman with immense acting skills. I respect her a lot, especially from her complex yet mesmerising performance in QALA (2022).
I think it is one of the basic features of today's society, that is aggravated even more in India, to criticise people once they shed their underrated tag, and become achievers in the real sense. Whether it's a good thing or not, can't say. For example, in European football, you can find fans call many players "overhyped and bound to fail" once they sign for a big club, even after a 2-3 good seasons at an underrated club.
In India however, the fanaticism that follows celebrities from either film industry or sports takes this up a notch. The so called "fans" start to think "How can this person, who was among us just now, reach such a high level?"
Inherently, I think people want a certain balance to be maintained, and when a person starts removing it, people don't like it. Social media has only increased this further, giving fans a collective platform to speak up.

It is kind of heart breaking to see Tripti make these choices because she has so much potential and is a genuinely good actress (a rarity these days). Its her choice and these glamourous roles bring her fame but she is meant for those meaningful characters that stay close to your heart.
Vicky Kaushal stole the show in Tauba Tauba as well as Raj Kumar Rai in Mere Mehboob.
Raj can't do that level of dance what we saw in tauba tauba..also the choreography of mere mehboob is very cringe and basic

I think the industry is hell bent on destroying good actors by giving them cheap projects or turning them into item pieces. Earlier it was Mahi Gill and Ayushman Khurana. Now it seems to be Rajkumar Rao and Tripti Dimri.
Bhai, Game Changer's second song is releasing in 3 hours. 'Raa macha macha', i saw the promo and felt the choreography problem too. Ram Charan is giving his 100% it seems but there is still something missing.
The song sounds fire though. A lot better than the first one, jaragandi. It will be a mass mayhem to watch that song in theatres.

If dance number serve storyline than it really work, for ex aaj ki raat from stree 2, even in classic movies like sholay mehboba work so well because it is key to storyline

Absolute BS about underrated analogy. Let me give you an example. Nani was underrated actor back then but was loved by most people. He has almost become a superstar now and is still loved by people and love his films. Its ultimately content that matters to the people. Most of the shit examples that you have taken were criticized because either the movie/content created was turning into shit or their performance was shit in your so called "MAIN STREAM" movies.

Trupti needs a choreographer who understands her strengths and weaknesses, plays to her strengths. Katrina was a terrible dancer early on, yes she had charisma but Bosco-Caesar played to her strengths, she worked incredibly hard and the result in race was mind blowing. Trupti just needs time. And Jammy please work on pronouncing names correctly.
Btw, possibly the only item number where all eyes were on the male lead rather than the female, was "Munni badnam" from Dabangg, due to aura of Salman bhai 😎 (and yes, there're no item number for Hrithik, as wherever Hrithik is present it automatically becomes a learning chapter for dancers)

You should've immense dance skills,likeability, very expressive,comedic timing, long lasting beauty & then your acting will be considered. It's an eye candy thing but there's none to blame, " star" quality is not what we see in everyone & Tripti don't have it,it's fine to agree that too.

That bad news movie is such a pain to watch.. I guess I saw till she meets the second lead character... I somehow struggled to see till there after that I just couldn't.. saw Ulajh recently...same.. all actors were stunning.. I remember a scene where Miyang chang enters Jhanvis house and all gets serious and suddenly he is shot . I am watching with all silence n tensed and suddenly Jhanvi tries to hit gulshan devaiah.. me n my friends broke in a laughter.. that hitting him felt like a small girl throwing tantrums .. only her character was such a bore to watch..
I hope Indian cinema moves away from these song and dance routines which are not integral to the plot, add nothing to the story and only serves to increase the runtime of a film. As a result of them, even our crime thrillers are categorised as musicals. If you have to have them, release them only on UA-cam as part of the film's album.
