Glad u brought it up. If u have paid attention to the lyrics of the song, it's a polar opposite of what similar other songs. It talks about her as a person and her desires, and I believe there was no focus on sexual innuendos. This was kind of refreshing for an "item number".
All items songs are vulgar at its core. Its the epitome of objectification of women and a glamorization of the danger a real life bar dancer is in when she is surrounded by lustful men. Just becoz the choreography is good doesnt make it any less vulgar. Item songs serve no purpose and should never exist in a movie.
also not mentioned here, Baby Doll. Sunny Leone does NOTHING and yet it's an item number. They hid her weakness of dancing by choreographing only slow movements & made sure those fit the song
Tripti has a very beautiful face. I feel her face looks European, almost Italian. Simple, minimal makeup and simple outfits suit her. Shiny, gawdy outfits and crazy dance moves are not for her. She looked angelic in her initial movies and even in Animal. Let's give Tripti some time. She will figure it out.

Vicky Kaushal's Tauba Tauba has been the biggest sensation since Sheila/Munni... the dance steps are a rage still. Big feat to create such euphoria in the times of internet and shrinking attention spans.

Munni Badnam and Sheila Ki Jawani were THE rage in the early 2010s... masala movies had a renaissance post Sallu mia's Wanted and Dabangg and item numbers were a phenomenon!
I don’t understand the hatred Tripti is getting at the moment. She did the movie Animal and for a kissing scene she became an overnight sensation and audience made her viral for all the wrong reasons. Later when she used the new found fame and bagged commercial films with established actors and production house audience is bashing her for doing skin show and doing movie except award oriented movies. When she did Qala, Bulbul or Laila Majnu only a small section of the audience supported her and her films were mediocre hits. If she would have continued with films like those she would have vanished soon from the industry like many other actors. Audience is really hypocrite and just wants something to hate on. After the covid I feel like hating everyone is the new trend.
There was a section of audience who wholeheartedly loved Tripti in those movies (myself included) and absolutely hate her recent movies. They feel betrayed
@@subhadityabasu9224why?? I loved her in bulbul and qala.but that doesn't give the right to decide her life. Hate is a serious word man.. Its okay if u not like her movies now but spreading hatred and spoiling her career is really pathetic.

The audience is responsible for the choice she had to make coz the audience can brag about wanting quality movies but they will go in theatres only for animal, kgf, pushpa etc.. lets not pretend the audience is the victim here by saying they feel betrayed. Noone has a problem with Tripti's newfound star status, I think the main discourse was bollywood trying to capitalise on the whole 'sensual' buzz because of that one steamy role and making unnecessary songs. That hastily shot 'Bad newz' song was bizzare. And it seems to continue with this movie too.
Yes exactly, her old fans are not hating her but hating the bollywood but don't know why everyone is pretending like, she shouldn't get this hate, we should support her, like if you want this at least give her a good role, don't know why youtubers are defending the industry using their strawman arguments
Vicky did the actor to star transition perfectly. No one complained. Rajkumar too in a way, but he is not fully a star yet. He needs a Uri kind of movie.
Sharvari geniunely Mujhe talented lagti hai hopefully usko aise role mile jisme wo apna acting wala talent dikha sake, honestly kai new actresses ke liye mai darta hoon ki wo eye candy ban ke na reh jayen
Sharvari was really good in taras she was looking gorgeous and her dance choreography was looking very elegant and credit defenately should be given to her only.
Tripti is the better actor but has no commercial game. Sharvari is a decent actor but she kinda lights up the screen and seems very likable. Very Rani Mukerji energy (if not her skills).
She actually looks a lot like Rani Mukerji even the eye color and face shape, only big difference is lighter skin and few inches taller , when Rani was known for her beautiful dusky and petite look
Tripti should apply the "my pr is having no pr".Having no social media, barely any interviews while delivering movies like her earlier projects(qala, bulbul)
The choreography and placement of the song itself was unnecessary on a film that serious! It still works for the spy universe but the same template in a film on Pulwama is rather tone deaf
@@TriedRefusedProductions I too felt that wierd placement. But you know Jammy what I think. I never felt Fighter was about Pulwama attack due to weak villian in the story. And more of his chemistry with his friends, i will always gonna remember Fighter as a film for it's freindship and Patty's character.
@@TriedRefusedProductions For me, it was the cuts for Tabah ho gaye with Madhuri Maam. No one cuts off when she is dancing 😑 i still watch the making video to see the full choreo ❤️
I think the industry is hell bent on destroying good actors by giving them cheap projects or turning them into item pieces. Earlier it was Mahi Gill and Ayushman Khurana. Now it seems to be Rajkumar Rao and Tripti Dimri.
Sharvari could take her career trajectory in line with that of Deepika or Alia.. While on the other hand - Tripti could just become another Mallika Sherawat with the choices she is making.
I really think even Katrina didn’t have the moves in her initial days but Tripti is already far more mature in her acting and she will eventually catch up on dancing. I will always root for the angel that she is. EDiT: Remember Dua Lipa in her earlier days? Look at the performer that she is now.
OMG Thank you for highlighting Aga Bai Halla Mache! It is such an underrated yet iconic number. Rani just rules! I've always wondered why it didn't get much attention. I'm also fan of Aditi's Akhiyon ne like love letter!
Triptii Dimri is an incredibly talented actor, and it’s important to acknowledge that even with producers like Karan Johar, who gives great scripts like Jigra, she herself ends up with scripts such as Bad Newz. And, many actresses struggle to make a mark if they say no to roles from big production houses. If we can forgive Alia Bhatt for her debut in Student of the Year, and give leeway to Sonam, Ananya, and Janhvi, then we can certainly allow Triptii room for a few not-so-great choices and look forward to her well-deserved breakthrough. She will grow through this.
Agreed. People have lower standards for starkids. They can take easy roles and do decent acting and people go like "Oh she has improved her acting so much". While the outsiders have to be perfect.
4:56... jab pocket se sara coin bahar aajaye.. made me laugh indiscriminately and louder.. and I will remember this line every time when the coins drop out..
It is kind of heart breaking to see Tripti make these choices because she has so much potential and is a genuinely good actress (a rarity these days). Its her choice and these glamourous roles bring her fame but she is meant for those meaningful characters that stay close to your heart.
From the interviews I have watched of Sharvari , we get to know she had put her efforts in everything until it was up to mark and that is one reason why I love her. Tripti needs to unlock her hidden potential and I would totally love if her choices in project changes , she was good in bulbul and laila majnu but then again I can not blame her.
Siddhant Chaturvedi is a MASTERFUL dancer.. he is under the radar because of him not being able to appeal to the theater going audience and masses.. but Zoya Akhtar cast him in Gully Boy because she saw him dancing in a party in the first place!
They tried to make mere Mehboob like aaj ki raat, the clothes and few steps. Even as a woman we would dance on Sheila ki deewani not due to the lyrics but the influence of video dance which showcases graceful but while watching Ayesha Khan item number I felt so uncomfortable and also it's trending reels with slow motion. Back in the day we were not allowed to perform ek do teen dance in our schools.😂 Now a days boys perform aaj ki raat with those clothes.
Absolutely, Sonakshi is so underrated. She can do sensual and sexy, but has never, ever, been seen on screen acting or looking vulgar. Even in item songs.
Exactly!!! Such ladylike grace always, even in the most itemy of item songs, she wouldn't be caught dead looking vulgar. At the same time, perfect energy for any pitch, and absolutely unmatched expressions.
When I was a child the 2 actresses that made me their instant fan by watching them dance are Rani Mukherji( Nach baliye) n Manju Warrier (Kannadi koodum kooti). Grace personified❤️
This video was so insightful, ❤ I never thought this way , why we like and see some item songs very easily and why some are very hard to see 😂 The way you explained every aspect was really amazing!!!!
You are talking about dancing in such depth and not mentioning the great madhuri dixit is crime ❤ the actual revolutions she started where she educated audience that face expressions are more important than body movements ..😊
Kat is always classy doing these kinda songs nvr feel like I am watching an item girl. Rani is an amazing dancer but she nvr gets that credit like her dance in songs like Nach Baliye, dil bole haddipa, kali naagin n many more
She is so grt actor that her acting always over shadowed her dancing...her too much good acting is real reason that people don't appreciate how much good dancer she is
In suraiyas case the akward choreography was made akward on purpose ..it was intentional...because thats the kind of choregraphy prabhu deva always does ....prabhu deva always does wier and unique choreography...but jammy does not have the brains to understand this..@Optimistic_aspirant
I always felt Rani is so unerrated as a dancer ! She never gets much appreciation for her dance as much as she is known for her Acting ! Thank you for bringing it time and again !
I think it is one of the basic features of today's society, that is aggravated even more in India, to criticise people once they shed their underrated tag, and become achievers in the real sense. Whether it's a good thing or not, can't say. For example, in European football, you can find fans call many players "overhyped and bound to fail" once they sign for a big club, even after a 2-3 good seasons at an underrated club. In India however, the fanaticism that follows celebrities from either film industry or sports takes this up a notch. The so called "fans" start to think "How can this person, who was among us just now, reach such a high level?" Inherently, I think people want a certain balance to be maintained, and when a person starts removing it, people don't like it. Social media has only increased this further, giving fans a collective platform to speak up.
When it comes to dancing..katrina is just woww ❤ like she has set the bars soo high that even in the future if she ever gives a comback to her item numbers she'd still be on top
I agree. The struggle is real with Tripti, plus the choreography was a disaster! Rani Mukerji is an awesome underrated dancer and she did fantastically in Hadippa remix matching Shahid’s energy. Btw I thought Vaibhabi Merchant did the choreography for Aiyyaa, or am I wrong?
If anyone has watched older Bollywood movies, you will notice Parveen Babi, although an amazingly talented actress, was very weak when it came to dancing. The choreographers during that era understood and acknowledged this, therefore they never tried to make her execute dance steps she could not handle. Most of the time she would just run or walk/hop around in a song very slowly with beautiful expressions and with so much grace, while the male actor took the lead making it harmonious effortlessly. Today’s Bollywood needs to take serious notes from older choreographers from the 70s 80s era which made heroins look like goddesses without it looking vulgar.
When it comes to female dancer in bollywood my bias will always be katrina kaif..you are apt on about her charisma and screen presence. Her acting is below average but no other actress can create the magic of kamli , mashallah, dhoom machale, malang , chikni chameli, bang bang ....pure iconic songs... ...
thank god..someone finally mentioned rani mukherji and aga bai. I just love the song, the setting, the choreography and ofcourse the way it was performed by rani mukherji was way awesome. One of the best numbers in my opinion as well.
I love how you question everything, and the kind of points you raise. The tendency to bring down people once they have become mainstream, acknowledging that the phrase “item number” is bad, etc. I’m happy for the way that you are evolving and growing! I don’t watch too many films nowadays but i always enjoy listening to you speak about them!
Why can Indian audience not fathom to appreciate actors who actually act for the art of it.. Dancing ≠ Acting.Tripti was great in Qala and Bulbull. She emotes better than most of the current lot n actors like Katrina, Anushka. But she ain't getting roles like that no more. She should stick to the acting part rather than commercial masala like radhika apte . Radhika is another actress who is massively underrecognized but continues to do quality theatre. If your gonna talk about class, dance numbers even something as good as Kamli could never match the aura n be as 'CLASSY' as raw, psychological ,theatrical role play that is ACTUAL ACTING
Honestly, I think Tripti Dimri is going through the classic actor’s popularity paradox which is all about gathering attention for all the wrong reasons.
my two all time favourite dance numbers are - kajra re and inn aankhon ki masti. I just love everything about these two, like everything from lyrics to music to the way they have been sung to the choreography and the way the queens performed it. Everything is just to fit and perfect in these songs!!!!!!!!!!
The audience is easily primed. This is why we constantly criticize TRIPTI while overlooking the Ananya Janhvi and future Shanaya chances they get. The first two being senior actors with zero range playing the same characters with zero variation. Katrina Kaif has a range and has always been overlooked by audience priming to srill hold her to her acting in her first 3 movies.
I too thought the same.. Audiences overlook the lack of talent in sara ananya and janhvi suhana and khushi while easily targeting tripti dimri.. Very bad though

More than that, baby doll is popularized bcz of the song itself and not sunny leone or the average dance number.
Bro have you seen laila mai laila??? Get steps were extremely smooth in that song without being overly vulgar
What do you mean Sunny Leone does "NOTHING"??? Her dance was actually good in that song. It was so good it looked effortless to you.
Sharvari literally killed in taras song. I become addicted to the song and listen it lot of times.

She has done some cosmetic job

The so called "fans" start to think "How can this person, who was among us just now, reach such a high level?"
Inherently, I think people want a certain balance to be maintained, and when a person starts removing it, people don't like it. Social media has only increased this further, giving fans a collective platform to speak up.
When it comes to dancing..katrina is just woww ❤ like she has set the bars soo high that even in the future if she ever gives a comback to her item numbers she'd still be on top

Absolutely just like noone tried to make Shabana Azmi or Jaya Bachchan look like "professional dancers"

Beautiful comment 👌 ... The last line was awesome in simple terms
Just wow, how well you articulate the inherent grace in an art form. More power to you!!!
Honestly, I think Tripti Dimri is going through the classic actor’s popularity paradox which is all about gathering attention for all the wrong reasons.

I just love everything about these two, like everything from lyrics to music to the way they have been sung to the choreography and the way the queens performed it.
