The next year, late Robert Arquette, youngest brother of Rosanna, played the boy in the music video She's a Beauty for The Tubes. Steve Lukather played lead guitar. As for the lead vocals in Rosanna, Steve Lukather sings the verses. Bobby Kimble sings the pre-chorus. Music video. Cynthia Rhodes is the actress and dancer. This was before she married Richard Marx. Notes. Late Eddie Money was the main writer for Shakin. He also sang. Rosanna in that song has nothing to do with the song Rosanna. The actress in the Eddie Money song is Apollonia Kotero. "AFRICA"!!!!
The greatest element of this song IMHO is the the rhythm of the lyricism and that background shuffle.
Possibly the coolest song ending I've ever heard. And the music video for this song is fantastic too...
One of several songs written for actress Rosanna Arquette. Another one is Secret World by Peter Gabriel.
You can hear when very good studio musicans have the same idea to music. PERFECTION !
This is the first time I heard this song. This is a masterpiece.
Another great song from my childhood in the '80s fun fact about this song and Peter Gabriel's song " In Your Eyes" both of these songs are about Actress Rosanna Arquette she dated a member from Toto and Peter Gabriel and both Artists wrote hit songs about her lol
One of my all time favorite songs.
Definitely a radio favorite back in the day.
Jeff Porcaro is a beast!! You’ve heard him way more than you can imagine!
This is one of those songs that needs the video to go along with it they miss so much not playing the videos of these songs.
The drummer had stated he got that slick rythm from Zeppelin!... Fool In The Rain!
Home of the brave from their seventh one album. It’s the last track. Great stuff.
One of the greatest drum lines ever.
there is deep joy in Toto bless
Oh, I’ve been waiting for you guys to do this one. This is one of the most musically proficient bands of all time, and this song highlights that more than most.
Love Lex’s optimism.
“He’s just having a moment” 😆😆
Toto was a super band.World class musicians.
This one came out when I was but a lad of nine or ten, and I've loved it ever since. ❤💔🤘
Toto is the band on the Thriller album. This was written for Rossana Arquette.
I have always loved the bass line in this song. So good.
I agree. The late, great Mike Porcaro, Jeff's brother. Talk about talent in the groove.
Ah, the early 80s.......a time when I was young and life was good! Oh yeah, so was the music.
Great reaction!
One of the most solid bands ever
This song is way way more than cute! It’s a great song filled with incredible talent and a crank-up for the vehicle!
Lex started to mouth the words, then caught herself, proving what i have always thought. They listened to the song before, so they're not being truthful. I saw this same thing on other reactions from different people. Other than that I love Toto and about every song they sing, and I like Lex too. She seems sweet and adorable. I just wish people would be more truthful.
The horns played in this song are from the group Chicago, fyi.
Maybe the best shuffle beat in all of pop music. so amazing.
Written by David Paich. He is on keyboards. He wrote this about Rosanna Arquette. She was dating keyboardist Steve Porcaro.
Same year Steve Lukather, late Jeff Porcaro and Steve Porcaro played in the self-titled late Donna Sommer album and Thriller album for late Michael Jackson. Jeff played for Michael McDonald. Steve Lukather also played with Chicago. These members of Toto were working like a dog! 🐕L🤣L
RIP Robert Arquette/Alexis Arquette, Jeff Porcaro.
Toto is 🔥 ! 💯👏👍😎
Lex, your smile and upbeat movements are infectious. ❤️🙏
Its actually a "recovery from break up" song. He WAS hurt, but now he'll meet her all the way...
❤️❤️❤️ Toto!! All I'm goin to say....everyone else summed up the rest!! 😁🔥👍🖤💛
Jeff Porcaro shuffle beat... Steve Lukather lead guitar.... LA session musicians.... Michael Jackson Thriller... Baaa! Baaa! Baaaaaaaaa! Baaaaaaa! 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑
This drum shuffle is called the Porcaro shuffle. Drummer Jeff Porcaro created it for this song.
Rosanna Arquette musta been so hot back in the day... wow! With all them piercings n stuff.😍
Ahhhh yes to the songs bearing the title name after girls we all knew..
"GLORIA" by the doors is one ya'll should experience..
This song got its name from the actress Rosanna Arquette, who was dating Toto keyboard player Steve Porcaro at the time.
This song was written / inspired by a young actress Rosanna Arquette who was dating one of the band members.
And still rocking the test of time!
Rosanna Arquette can be seen in the movie that helped propel Madonna's ascent, 'Desperately Seeking Susan.' She plays a Madonna wannabe, even though that wasn't la Ciccone's character's name.
Finally someone reacted to the best part of the song… the outro! Piano horns and guitar
Another great Toto song! They've certainly got a few more surprises too..."Georgy Porgy" (with Cheryl Lynn, who sings "To Be Real," an iconic banger you've probably heard somewhere before)..."I'll Supply the Love"..."99"...(more)
One of two major hits written about Rosanne Arquette.
This was the winner of the Grammy for Record of the Year in 1983.
Fun fact, this song and Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel are both written about actress Rosanna Arquette.
wrong
true
The song was written by David Paich, who has said that the song is based on numerous girls he had known. As a joke, the band members initially played along with the common assumption that the song was based on Rosanna Arquette, who was dating Toto keyboard player Steve Porcaro at the time and coincidentally had the same name.
I was watching and listening and just going to comment how grateful I was you didn't interrupt the song to comment.....but then.....lol
Lex, girl you always impress me with how you get into the songs and your heartfelt reactions. I wonder if the 2 of you have ever heard Saga - On The Loose
Steve Lukather, the lead guitarist is on 3 tracks on Michael Jacksons Thriller album. Jeff Porcaro, the drummer is on 4 tracks on that album and his brother Steve Porcaro, the synth player features on 6 tracks
I just saw them 3 weeks ago when they opened for Journey here in NJ. They sounded great. They r a very professional group who r perfectionists.
Weezer did a REALLY good cover of this. It's worth the listen. Thanks for the upload!
Anything that isn't simplistic Brad's like "a lot going on musically," LOL. God love ya Brad.
These guys wrote and the soundtrack for David Lynch’s movie Dune it was the best part of the movie in my opinion!!!!
This song is about Rosanna Arquette.
As I heard it, one of the guys in the band was dating her, then he wasn't, and was pining for her.
The is one of the hardest songs to play on the drums the ghost notes is the hardest and Jeff was amazing at it!
Brad and Lex looks like a happy couple to hang with. 😀
she's vibing , he's like its ok
