Glitter crayons make me think of the time when I was was about 5 years old and I tried to scam the tooth fairy. To make some fake teeth I took some little balled up pieces of paper and I wanted to make them look bloody, but I only had a red glitter crayon, one of those jumbo ones from the 90s. It didn’t work, dang it! I still think it was hilarious that I thought I was being so clever.

You mentioning about how the black layers nicely reminds me of crayon scratching as a technique - you first draw in bright colors splotched on the paper, then layer black over the entire thing, then using a paperclip or something else hard, scratch away the black to reveal the colors.
The first layer is made with coloured pencils right? And then you layer a black crayon on top to make a scratch art effect
Wait, shamrock for the green in the neon box? What happened to screaming green from when they had the special neon section in the 96 pack? Looking closer, melon, carnation, and sky blue are definitely not the neons they they totally used to have (wild watermelon, razzle dazzle rose, and blizzard blue)! Something is definitely hinky in that pack.
Even like green, yellow green, literally anything would have been a better match!
@@KaseyTheGolden I think its a canada thing, in the US my neon box has a bright lime green (screamin' green) !!
Don't forget the lack of Radical Red.
We are forgetting Winter Sky. Which was just an outrageously neon hot pink. Maybe that was a colored pencil only color but it certainly deserves to be mentioned

the first illustration makes me think of the robots from "Castle in the Sky" ^^
a fun crayon effect i've found is pressing down really hard and then scraping the crayon off of the page. it leaves some of the color behind and looks really nice when you want a lighter version of a color!
When you first drew that bunny and I saw it's expression I thought they were gonna to be farting the rainbow 😅

I had never seen crayons with glitter before, that's so cool! I don't even use crayons (I mean, I do own a set, but I don't reach for it often), but these special editions make me want to collect them all (like Pokémon, yeah).
I just bought Crayola’s ‘Colors of Kindness’ only 4 out of the 24 crayons are new but they renamed all of them amazingly cheerful names! Like Hello sunshine, a warm hug, and Kind to the core; I think you would really like Keep moving forward!
Whenever I see people draw with crayons I remember being 5 and wanting to eat them. Like, why are crayons named after food if I’m not supposed to eat them? When I was little I really wanted apricot to taste like apricot.

Kasey's obsession with crayons really reminds me of Ode to Crayola by Lemon Demon and it's really cool that all of the neon colors were in the song and I got excited when I heard them

Laser lemon takes me back. I had a pack of neon crayola markers in 2008 that had that color and I've been calling that color laser lemon ever since.

With glitter crayons, if you go back and rub them with your finger, you will bring up the shiny metal bits.

Hello Kasey, I do so enjoy watching your videos. I am just a little surprised that you have not used the scrapping technique? You are sure to own a knife or similar tool to scrape the crayon wax off the paper to create highlights and even to change the colors put down! Perhaps you have tried it and it was edited out? Or it did not work and never even made it to production? So glad that you continue to be obsessed with crayons. I am still hopeful that you break out the neocolor II crayons and use them! I especially like the fact that you can create a standard drawing or break into watercolor technique with the neocolor II’s. Stay loose n cool 😎

they're probably getting rid of their old stock of unnamed glitter crayons. The metallic ones use a finer metallic powder, basically the same ones Gold, Silver, Copper and Antique Bronze use. I haven't worked too much with their new glitter crayons, but they're definitely not a favorite.
I love the glitter one, the colors really popped out and vibrant! It gives me dreamy and cartoon vibes :D
Pearl crayons should have been like, metallic but pastel. Shimmery and pale.

I just caught myself trying to blow off the phone screen when all the crayon specks and shavings were everywhere. I actually was so glad my husband just didn’t see that or i would prob never hear the end of it 🤣. I’m only 2:34 in and I’m wondering if I should continue watching or if I will do something else mindlessly 🤣🤣🤦🏼♀️🤯

at some stores crayola also sells curated crayon packs in limited color schemes, I’ve bought them before and its fun to work with only the 8 color scheme they give you (or to combine packs into a bigger scheme)

On a weird side note, every time I see glitter crayons all I can think of is I had a set when I was little and my dog ate one of them. We didn't know he ate one of them until he went potty. LOL

If scratch you off the wax you can layer the colours because it just leave the pigment behind
If you do do that I suggest using a coin because I did this with my nails and it's not a great sensation

Pro tip when using crayons, after you draw with them and if you want it to be smooth and not crumbly, just scrape them off
I have these crayons and its interesting how the boxes are different depending on where you live. The neon box for one looks completely different, urs also has additional text.

we got this huge pack of glitter crayons at the daycare i worked at, but after a while we all ran into the same problem you did. I think that the glitter is too large for the crayon wax to push against, and when you push down, the glitter doesnt come off on the page, but pushes back into the crayon sometimes and creates build up. I just gave the kids some dull scissors and they would shave off little bits when the build up got too much

Crayola came out with a new box of crayons with four new colors in it. It’s called colors of kindness. It’s just renamed colors they already have except the four new colors. They are nice but the new colors don’t match the picture on the box at all
