gosh those un/intentional blob creatures turned out so cute!! The magic reminds me of elementary school in Germany where we learned not only cursive writing but also using a fountain pen ...and for mistakes we could use a "ink killer" that behaved just like that with the blue ink...smelled good, too (in hindsight they recalled them because at the time they contained formaldehyde, back then that was)

If these are anything like the ink erasers we used to have at school, its worth noting that the chemical reaction which causes the colour to disappear is not a permanent one and so it will, over time reverse, or at the very least yellow the page. Can't say for certain that these utilise the same kind of chemical reaction, but if they do then it is worth noting for longevity purposes.
I have these same markers and they are definitely weird to work with. It also depends on the paper you use because when I first tried it and tried to erase, it messed up the paper.

I could watch you draw forever! The crocodile dog kept playing tricks on my eyes! It reminds me of the duck/bunny gestalt drawing! I kept seeing a zombie bunny!! But I could also see the crocodile dog!!!
Hullo Kasey, I have seen these pens before and the color comes back under cold temperatures. You could just stick your page into your freezer and see! I believe that you don’t need this particular feature for creating your artworks. Not having yellow makes these pens worthless to me and my art. You are much more inventive than I, but I am truly a fan of your styles and creatures creations! Thank you for sharing all of your amazing ideas. Stay safe, take care, be well Kasey n friends!
No it happens with the friction erasers these are different
@@Boxofcare666 depending on whats used in the eraser pen, it does yellow. very often you can get fountain pen sets that come with eraser pens, and my old work with them has yellowed over the years
These remind me of some markers I had growing up, but instead of the erasers (it had one per marker) just having normal tips they had cute stamps

These remind me of Crayola 'Color Changeables' Markers. Mom bought them for us (me and my sister), for an art project the school had to do for end of year thing. First day using them, I wasn't allowed to bring them back to school. Never was told why. But they were my absolute favorite markers! I used them all the way up til the day they dried out.

I'm curious how well the magic erase marker would react to other markers? Or if you used it on black if it would erase it completely or leave an orange/brown color?

If they work similar to the ink erasers we used for our pens in school, I don't think you can draw over the erased parts. I kinda woukd want to try anyways, though.
I have markers that work like this and if it's the same, it wouldn't work. Cool for making "hidden messages" though!
I sadly don't come up with anything when I search for these specific markers online for US shipping, at least not this high of quality, but I'll keep looking!

Haha.. the alligator-dog’s eye looks like someone punched him in the eye n now it’s gone all dark around it or he has severe dark circle issue 😂😂 but it was still fun to watch. Enjoyed the whole video. ❤

Either your paper is amazing or you've gotten very good at colouring with water based markers without tearing holes in your page.

Try something like Bristol for markers, something thick/heavy but smooth. Usually works better with markers than other paper, at least for me

We used the erasers I.n the 90s in the UK for school work with beryl pens..

@Kasey Golden If you don’t like the streaks that markers produce while drawing, I suggest you get alcohol markers. And the streaks blend into each other while the colour is still fresh on the paper. It almost gives a printed look, you may enjoy it. :)

If you use the eraser pen, can you use the markers on top of that area? I have some highlighters that erase, but once you use the eraser, you cannot go back over it with another highlighter. That area is just dead to those markers at that point.

Kasey, I can actually explain the magic behind these markers, and you're definitely right when you say that there's a simple reason behind it: I think that they just they use ink that's erasable by friction. I'm an artist who has spent some time in the stationery community, and Pilot has these Frixion pens that are erasable as well: they explained that there's ink in those pens that's erasable by the heat of friction. The fact that there's no colour on the eraser kind of clued me in to that, and logic dictates that this same gimmick that the pens use should be possible for markers as well. The black residue in the teal could be because of the consistency of the ink: I see it in the darker colours of the set as well, so that can just possibly be an ingredient that makes the colour look darker on the page. The markers layer quite well for that ink type, though.

I really love these so much, and I'd argue that the patchyness of the marker having a consistency about it looks really good. It invokes impressionism - for me, at least. Also, I'm engrossed in the possible evolutionary origins of the alligator dog. Is it a mammal that evolved greenish pigments and keratinous spikes on a thickened tail, a mammal-analogue with reptilian ancestors that adapted to a colder environment, or something else entirely? Looks like my special interest in speculative evolution is at it again!

A childhood memory I have is coming back.
You see, Kimba the White Lion eventually led to Jungle Emperor Leo being made. At one point a plague illness is ravaging the savannah, making itself known with bright purple spots and killing a bunch of animals, including Leo's lovely lion-wife Lyra. I had to check out by the time the lion-daughter got infected too. But what I missed was that there's a vaccine and so she's saved.

I'm gonna ruin the magic sorry not sorry. These use a friction technology that the color is rubbed off with heat(if you were to take a blow dryer to it the same reaction would happen) if you place it in the fridge for a while the color returns in cold.

These appear to be a limited time run from 2021. There's a bunch of others' videos with these from that time. Can't even find it on Staedtler's website... I am guessing Kasey bought them and they were just sitting in the stash for a while. They DO look a little dried out.
they wouldn't dry out from just sitting there, that is not how markers work.

17:38 @KaseyTheGolden , I don’t think it’s a you thing, I think it’s the shape of the nib. Felt tip markers with stiffer, squatter,cone-shaped nibs are (in my experience) harder to blend seamlessly than softer/more flexible brush tipped markers. (Like Copics)
Although, it could also be the formula.

It gained this residue because of some complex chemical reaction to the dyes called "dirt basing".
FYI: It probably didn't, but I'm just acting like those wise guys in the comments who know everything about art.
Now I get it - it's that acid from the sketchbook spread video with the horrible black parasite sludge and the page of cats!

The exposure was high on the video so it was really hard to see the true colors and I couldn't see your pencil sketches at all :( the side angle was much better, but I could barely see the color in the overhead shots. I loved the art tho!! Very cute and goofy style ♡
