“You merely adopted the dark side, i was born with it”-darth bane
molded by it!
😂
...or maybe it's Maybelline
Bane: You should use this absolutely suicidal explosive ritual to kill our mutual enemy. Also I shouldn't be nearby when you do it.
Khan: That sounds good to me.
😂
A? :D
Lol to banes credit kaan told him to stay
Kahn was weak. Bane was right to destroy the brotherhood.
Emperor from nathema executed a better plan. Make yourself far stronger while destroying fellow sith.
What of the emperors wrath tho...
Who lit the candle at the end of apocalypse...
Crucible will always stand in place of ep 7,8,9
Didn't bane fake being under kahns influence while influencing kahn to use the *THOT BOMB*
If you find the bookS still on UA-cam the top comment is rightfully
*THOT BOMB*
Just rolls off the tongue

“The power of the dark side is strongest if it is concentrated in one vessel. Not spread out among many.”
- Darth Bane
Agree
The dark side of the force is not fire, the dark side is venom, if it is poured into too many cups it will become so diluted that it is little more then an irritant, however, pour all those cups back into one vessel, and you will have the power to stop a Kryat dragon's heart.
I disagree. There is no limit to the force and what is drawn is only a fraction of what's available. Your way is bad story telling.
@N why? what this MEANS is not that the dark side is stronger when there is only one wielder, it means it's more effective when you don't have a while army to draw the attention of the Jedi. By having only two you also don't have in fighting which reduces your numbers and hurts your goal. Read it again because my understanding of the English language is just fine. It's like in the Courtship of Princess Leia when Luke comes to the realization that the force is everywhere and he isn't syphoning it like a parasite but it is in such abundance that it can never be over used or drain completely. Derp.
You can be strong in the dark side. But if deny yourself sleep. You give into the dark booty. Just like Anikan. Lol
“Take what makes you weak, and transform it into something that makes you strong”
Darth Bane is my favorite Star Wars character hands down. From a meagre miner on a backwater world, to the Sith Lord that would change the course of history itself, Bane is one of the most powerful and influential Sith to ever live. I could listen to the Bane trilogy a dozen times over and never get bored of it.
My friend I too, am a big fan of banes story, so much I truly believe a tv series would be a hit. Until then I made my own fanfilm
@@AndreNitroX i want to see your fanfilm
@@DutchBane its on my youtube channel
@@AndreNitroX i just checked out your channel, dope cosplays! Subbed🍻

Skere Kaan looks like a Star Wars Sith cosplayer in a convention
It's also worth mentioning that Zannah's original apprentice, the dark Jedi Set Harth, betrayed Zannah and left Doan with Darth Andeddu's holocron. He is seen at the end of the third book in an unknown location opening Andeddu's holocron to learn the secrets of Force essence transfer.
I think his story was continued in a tabletop RPG where he was the villain.
Harth lived on through the centuries after mastering the transfer living in clone bodies of himself for over a century.he lived to see the yuzhan vong war. Adenddu holocron was found by dooku on korriban. It was never explained how dooku got it and why set would leave it behind
Imagine a Star Wars movie focused on the life of Darth Bane, or Palpatine from childhood to emperor
Those who haven't read Bane trilogy yet - you should definitely do so, one of the best Star Wars fiction to date
I just finished listening to the bane trilogy. It was amazing. I wish there was a book following it up about zannah and her apprentices
There’s a great fan fiction about Zannah that is quite close to the books, if you want I can send you the link.

Everyone who loves Legends say that the Thrawn Trilogy was their favorite EU story. For me personally, it was the Darth Bane Trilogy that made me very interested in Expanded Universe.
For me is tales of the jedi jedi academy and bane trilogy
OMG the "thought bomb" was the Valley of the Jedi the whole time!?! You're blowing my mind right now! I knew Ruusan was where the Valley is, I thought it was a weird coincidence, but that's awesome. Seriously love how connected the EU was, things that happened thousands of years ago in a comic, get resolved thousands of years later in an otherwise unrelated video game. These videos are great, this one in particular was super engaging. Keep up the good work my dude.
Quality control. The Star Wars EU was edited properly to form one giant narrative, with contradictions kept much lower than many other novel series. It cost a lot of time and money, but vastly improved the quality as a whole.
@@mrgreatbigmoose Nah man. LF didnt do a very good job of quality control until the early 2000s and even then it was... meh.... solid.
The reason why we saw the connections we did and why history flowed so well was because it was the same group of writers doing most of the old EU books. They did a good job of communicating stories and ideas with one another and the story group basically allowed them to do what they wanted and made minimal corrections and/or changes.
All the spirits were trapped until Kyle Katarn freed them.
(Headcanon for me is that the "Darth Bane Trilogy"is canon, and everyone else can shut up if they disagree. Even Disney.)
With every new video in the Legends series, my opinion that Disney has no clue how to run StarWars is more and more adamant.
They were never interested in running it.
I am frustrated that so many epic stories were thrown away, when each one could have been an excellent tv series of movie trilogy, especially Darth Banes story!
Afraid so.
They had no idea what they were getting rid of when they destroyed it, only to put their shitty sequels in it's place.
@@danielkeller1337 agreed
Read the books. Totally worth it. Darth Bane is a monster. Love him. Plus, I think he lived on in Zanna. Her hand was shaking at the end ;-) Disney would make billions off Darth Bane movies.
yeah but how do they fill it with woke shit.
Disney already turned him into a dull character. He went from: the man that manipulated the brotherhood of darkness into committing suicide because he believed that they were a mockery of what Sith are supposed to be thus creating the rule of two and dieing in combat by his appearance zannah, to the guy who somehow survived the war with the jedi create the rule of two and then got killed by the jedi a couple years later.
@@whatwhat98 Do wha? When and what in did this happen?
@@NoBody-pw3kf I wouldn't call the story stupid but I agree with the "spreading thin" thing. The author should have just left it at "dark side users will always turn on each other" and be done with it. Otherwise, the story was fine. I think the plot holes were there simply because the books would have been 2 thousand pages each if they were not.
I always believed her hand clenching was bane getting used to his new body and lying to preserve the secret.
Excellent video! Darth Bane is my absolute favorite sith, the reason why is because he is not evil for evils sake. He has a vision and the will to make it happen which makes him so compelling.
I remember getting the Darth Maul covered edition before the movie was released. It blew my 13 yr old mind when Qui-gon (sp?) died. I was so obsessed with episode 1, i even collected all 24 pepsi product cans with all the characters on them, even ended up finding one of the gold yoda cans. I still have the cans although most have leaked out over the years
"You merely adopted the Dark Side. I was born in it."
I would watch an entire HBO style TV series about the life and death of Darth Bane
I absolutely agree, this mans story is still the best Star Wars book series to me.
the death isn't absolutely clear
@@TheNemesis442 the author himself established that bane was dead but that he did leave some after effects in zannah.
@@AndreNitroX if wasn't specified in the books, then we can't really know for sure. did you forget about palpatine?
@@TheNemesis442 yes yes
Thank you so much for this video! The rule of two never made sense to me until now. I didn't understand why a Sith Lord would want less Sith to rule over, much less that he would make a rule that he would expect later generations of Sith to follow....and that those Sith would follow the rule just because he said so. Based on what you said here, it looks like Bane only had one goal in mind, destroying the Jedi, and he believed (correctly) that the best way to do that was to focus the Dark Side of the Force on himself and his apprentice rather than on the multiple Sith across the galaxy. The only reason why this idea became a rule was because Darth Bane's apprentice agreed that this was a good idea and therefore passed it down by tradition.
"You think the dark side is your ally. You merely adopted it. I was born into it. Molded by it."
I swear Bane's story is one of the best.
A master to embrace the power, and a apprentice to covet the power
As a major Star Wars youtube watcher I'm really digging your thorough storytelling of the characters. Keep it up man and may the Force be with you.
If you haven’t read the Darth Bane trilogy, you are truly missing out. I don’t want to steer people away from a well made video, and I don’t want to be disrespectful to its creator, but at the same time I would love for people to go and read the trilogy first without spoilers and then come back and watch this video. This is a very good video about his life, great job 👏 👏
Such an awesome charector Darth Bane is. Really enjoyed his books, a series about him would be cool.
theyll ruin it like everything that gets translated after being awesome. theres already tlak about an empire being led by bane after a civil war...boo
Bane is my favorite Stih. He may not have been the strongest of all but imo he was the most all around badass of the non original Sith from way back in the SW timeline.
Everytime I re-read Path of Destruction, I imagine Des' neimoidian bartender friend Groshik voiced by Seth Rogen. It's hilarious. He even takes a hit off a vaporizer in the book, and I hear Seth doing a bong rip and coughing up a lung. Makes the chapter a thousand times funnier.
It's been years since I read those books but I remember having the perception that when her hand started twitching that meant that Darth Bane was the actual winner of that struggle of the force essence transfer and he was just keeping that fact a secret.
I wish they would have just kept it ambiguous and left it up to the interpretation of the reader. It would have further cemented the legend of Darth Bane; the idea that thousands of years later he could still exist, having lived out many lifetimes, slowly increasing his knowledge of the dark side; possibly even orchestrating events.

That's Marlin Brando from Apocalypse now.
I loved the books. Probably favoured over the Thrawn trilogy. Great video!
Concise, intelligent, nuanced and entertaining. Well done.
Darth bane, kas'im, revan, malgus are my favorite sith from the old republic era. Which is a loose term encompassing the dawn of the jedi, kotor, and the old republic eras. I think I might be missing a few. Their is a good amount of time between those and before those eras.
Kas im was awesome. His battle with Bane was legendary. Kas was best fighter in star wars lore IMO
@@lordoffaiyum9727 he was a bad mofo. Basically the sith equivalent to a Jedi battlemaster. Still skilled and powerful with the force but he primarily focused on sword combat. To me, for both sith and jedi you have both rank and classes for each respectively.
@@lordoffaiyum9727 music always plays in my head with books. So with their fight I pictured the one winged angel theme from ff7.

Such a good book series. I know it's no longer cannon, but they really do need to make it such. I would love a movie, except Disney seems less competent with thier movies than I expected.
Disney doesn't have the talent to do justice to any sith lord from the eu Dave filoni writing is kiddish generic and poor

I’m actually reading Star Wars legends Darth bane path of destruction I love how you broke down over 400 pages into 30 minutes or his story it is really cool to hear some of the words I couldn’t pronounce correctly pronounced correctly
Darovit has a striking resemblance to Frieza whom was apparently brought back through the help of some DragonBall to try and defeat a jedi by the name of Goku. This would be FREEKN AWESOME!
You are so wicked.
Do you have any idea the kind of devastating destruction Goku would unleash upon the Sith?
It is plausible ,that, Goku ,would tear a new hole ,in the space time continuum of the ,( excuse my French,) Siths' B, U, T, Ts, !
This was so cool. Plz make more just like this, you do a far better job then others who have more subs. And your voice and cadence is muchore easy to listen to. Good job! 👏

This is really well done video brosimo!
I have watched 2 of your videos both completely unrelated and I am subbed..great work! these are well done and the humour thrown in is clever
needs to be a series based on the bane books
Long live the Sith....Darth Bane story amazing. Needs to be made into a series ASAP
Such a wonderfully interesting character.
And to think, this was all based on a single line from Phantom Menace that George Lucas included because he decided to model this stuff on the millennia old practice of professions being taught via apprenticeships. (smiths, leatherworkers, etc.)
This is the good stuff, gonna get comfy.
Another brilliant video, i love these star wars lore videos and would love to hear you tell star wars lore all day.

I don't care what the big mouse says, this will alwayd be canon to me.
Amazing video as always saint milly, it would be amazing if you could do the thrawn triology next, much love from Colombia
Dude! That was freaking EPIC!!! But...
Kathleen Kennedy said that they didn't really have any source material to draw on for the sequel trilogy. Hmmm... 😆 This reminded me that I have the Book of the Sith (the one that came inside of a Sith Holocron!) that had different kinds of pages "pulled" from the "lost books" of ancient Sith, including Darth Bane. It must have been difficult to manufacture. It also has "notes" written in the margins from Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and Mace Windu. I LOVE that book! I also have a Jedi book that came with the collector's edition of SW: The Old Republic MMO. Man, I should play that game again. It's basically, what, TEN single player campaigns in one game? (I _think_ there are ten. Five per Republic and Empire side? Man! It's been so long, I forget!) Anyway, I LOVE so-called "Legends" canon. There are some talented people who write for Star Wars. It's too bad they couldn't have had THEM write the sequel trilogy movies! 😕
EDIT: Fixed spelling of Kathleen Kennedy. Thanks,
Facade! I used to know a Candice Kennedy in my early 20s. 🤪
What a waist that Disney purchased Star Wars and didn’t utilize it!
@@AndreNitroX Yeah, not really, considering they said they didn't have anything to work with, right? 😕
What talented people who write for star wars? Jar Jar Abrams?! Rian Johnson?! Cackling Kennedy?
@@darthbane5357 I was referring to those who had written actually _good_ material for the SWU. Please read the sentence immediately afterwards. 🤪😉
@@CybershamanX oh nvm
Well done. Loved those books.. Darth Bane is the great sith lord of all time...
You should do a piece on Grand Master Sateel Shan.. pretty much the most powerful Jedi of all time... in fact, if i hsd it my way, the next Star Wars trilogy would be about her training and early years as a Jedi Knight. Nothing so cool as the old republic.. like a well of untapped stories, just waiting to be told. 😎🤙

“Accidentally killing his opponent”. Yup, that’s what that was alright. A Sith filled with anger and hate force choking a man and even ignoring his instructor when he said to stop.
It’s kind of funny how the book makes it sound like he knew what he was doing when in reality it was an accident. How does one accidentally force choke his opponent?
Unbridled Rage.
@@FormerGovernmentHuman yes, but one would have to surrender oneself to this unbridled rage. And oh boy did he surrender!
The dark side can supposedly amplify rage, considering how Anakin killed Padme because the force corrupted hims thoughts
