It stands as one of the best SW books I've read. THIS is the type of Sith character that Disney needs to create, rather than weak children with bad attitudes.
I would love a Narration on Darth Vectivus. He’s such a Unique Sith, he accomplished little. But was the Absolute ruler of his area of space. He used the Dark Side to Control but did not loose the Live of his Family/Friends. The Jedi say that all Sith must die, to the point of committing a Holocaust. And yet they have no answer to Vectivus Showing another path for the Sith
I'm curious why people are suddenly talking about the dark side. This is amusing. I've adapted the philosophy of the dark side into something that works in the real world for years. It's not quite complete for public consumption. But now I see the appetite is there. My question is where did this come from?
@MVNXTR I've never heard of force realism. Thanks for the insight. This is why my version would probably never catch on. All of what I've seen relies heavily on larping and the philosophy i've worked on is applicable in the real world and doesn't have these fantasy elements. There is something that tells me that this new found interest in the path of the shadow has to do with a new Disney show I haven't seen.
When you realize that all are lies, and you have left all things treasured by fools behind. Only then will you begin to know yourself and your path to power.
My headcannon for the ending of Banes and Zannahs duel is that Bane never fully understood what the true nature of essance transfer was. At their very end, Bane attempted the rite of essance transfer and the author deliberately left it vague if was successfull or not except for the attention made to the small twitch in zannahs hand. I feel that Bane always existed in zanah after that. Even if he wasnt in control of her vessel, his essance was always within her as a dark passenger. As palapatine said. "I am all the sith."
You do know the author came out and directly said he never intended for the ending to be vague and in fact thought it was abundantly clear that Zannah completely won the battle don't you? He felt the line when Cognus asks if it's Bane and she replied Bane was gone, that she was Zannah, Dark Lord of the Sith, made it clear she won. The tremor in her hand was an "imprint" of Bane left over from fierceness of the battle.
I like to pretend the author never gave a definitive remark as to the victor of the final confrontation. The book leaves that up for interpretation and I love the vague possibility that Bane did indeed achieve immortality through essence transfer. I know I’m wrong according to the author, but I still prefer my first impression 😂
"The Sith killed each other. Victims of their own greed. But from the ashes of destruction, *I* was the last survivor. *I* chose to pass my knowledge onto only one. *I* created a legacy so resilient that now you come before me.'' "Remember the first and only reality of the Sith: there can only be two.''
The rule of two's creator. The famed Darth Lord of the Sith, Master Bane. His philosophy rebuilt the Sith order in the name of power and victory. Master Bane was revolutionary for his time. The rule of two though must not be as diligently followed as one would think. Take it from someone who knows. You will need something different at different stages of your grand design. This may require differences in your apprentice as well. This is the genius of Sideous. As he moved from apprentice to apprentice as newer, more worthy individuals presented themselves. Individuals whose pull towards the Darkside is as strong as your own. When you covet a new apprentice you must still adhere to the rule of two. So never forget to clean up your ... mistakes before you move on to the education of another. Never assume anything or a monster you started, if not snuffed out appropriately. Will eventually come back for your power and by then you won't know what kind of abomination stands before you. Putting your life and the entire Sith order in jeopardy. Use and when necessary snuff out your apprentices wisely. As you may be surprised how fast one you teach grows in power. But be warned. Only teach them just enough to fool themselves into thinking they're becoming your equal. Never extend all your knowledge to an apprentice as the one who takes your place must be able to eclipse you the Master. When you are gone you must be sure your successor can obtain power, knowledge, and victory on their own. If they do not. Then you will cut them down with ease as they will have reached too far too fast. Only when the day comes that you are bested by your student. Then and only then will your job as the Master be fulfilled. Heed my warnings and follow our ways as I do for I am Sith.
Two points of contention in what was stated in this video..... 1. Bane did not try to stop Lord Kaan from using the Thought Bomb. Bane was the one who brought this ability to Kaan after Bane had learned it in a Sith holocron, hoping that Kaan would be power-hungry enough to use it, not knowing it would destroy ALL Force-senitive beings in the area. It was Bane's way of eliminating all of his Sith rivals in one fell swoop. 2. There were no remains of Darth Bane to bury after his final dual with Darth Zannah. She used Sith sorcery to congure dark side Force tendrals that desintigrated anything they touched, to include Bane's body. But Bane used the ritual of Force-essence transfer to send his Force-spirit into Zannah to try and push out her spirit and take over her body, but he lost that battle and his Force essence was cast into the void. But a small part of him remained inside Zannah for the rest of her life.
Bane learned about the thiught bomb and told kan and made it out to be his idea. Knowing it was going to destroy the sith along with the Jedi so he can bring in the rule of 2
In keeping with the Rule of Two, each Sith would only challenge their Master when and only when BOTH Sith were at the peak of their strength. It would not do for a strong Master to fall to a weaker Apprentice, else the strength of the Sith Order itself would be left diminished.
Another reason why Darth Sidious/Palpatine was doomed to failure, since he killed his master, Darth Plageuis, when he was stone-drunk and passed out. Also, Sidious never had any intention of passing on the mantle of Sith Master to Darth Vader.
@@redleg1971true. Bane was ideological, but his teachings are the only thing that can make the Sith work. Any time they strayed away from the grand plan they weakened themselves
@@redleg1971 Because he saw the Sith Order as a means to an end, rather than the end goal in and of itself. What made him such a powerful Sith Lord was the fact that he managed to transform the Republic into an Empire and turn public opinion wholly against the Jedi Order, something no Sith before him was able to do.
Darth Bane was the one who manipulated Him into using the thought bomb ! Otherwise I like this as Darth Bane is my favorite sith and the 3 books are the best books on Star Wars in my opinion
