Gangster: **gives Alex $2000 to basically stay silent about this laptop if anyone starts asking**
Alex: "So there was this gangster with a laptop in my shop today... "
🤣🤣🤣
hahaha he's in the LA region it might be a guy who flew in to do some job like Tom Cruise's character in the movie called Collateral.
@@samuellp1146so replace "gangster" with "drug dealer" lol
There's a Hunter joke in there, but I'm just tired of the news.
by the way he talks about negotiating, he is a gangster.
I like the way you work and tell your stories, sometimes a bit sarcastic and with a bit of black humour, but it’s never dull.
Big Bo’s is an awesome guy to disassemble and reassemble all the devices that need soldering work. That’s one part of the soldering job I find “painful” at times: so having a guy like big boss take care of that side of “repair” is pretty awesome!
Also, do like looking at monitor for soldering now compared to looking thru microscope, like used to do. Enter on neck and other issues it caused, and as was learning curve; not going back anytime soon.
THX NRF for that awesome tip, and not for everyone, but I like it👍🏻
The guy with the bag of cash, sounds like there was some extremely important info on that laptop he needed "obviously it was for the data as he clearly could have easily bought a new laptop" and by this "friend," how quickly he wanted to get out of there, and how much he paid. Probably a man who has more money than he can spend and for whatever reason you want to imagine doesn't want a lot of questions and keeps contact to a minimum. Not even going to speculate on his line of work, but it must have been nice to get such a good payday.
Great to see the Big Boss "segment"! :-)
We Did It! Fantastic! Thank you Big Boss 👍👍
I had experience of costumers giving more money than asked and comming back in the future 😁. When you are working with the people you will get good, bad, great and terrible.
Alex, just by pure chance I ended watching Godzilla on TV this weekend. And for my surprise I realized that Jean Reno looks exactly like you!!!!
Are you sure he is not your brother or that you are not an assassin in your free time? 🤣
Your videos are therapeutic 🙂
i want to see big boss disassembly vedio with his voice❤❤
I bet the laptop guy was in the music industry and you saved his catalog.
You scared me at 6:02 when you said "Look how many pads we ripped out", I thought they were actually ripped lol
Beautiful work, as always. However, that micro USB connector needed a shave.
Remind customers about the value of using iCloud backups.
Many customers are too cheap to pay for it. IMO the cloud backup becames priceless when your device breaks or gets lost.
@@Syntappi it is free for first 5gb. It is just a couple of bucks a month for a huge amount of storage which you can share with multiple devices and family too.
Random guy: Can you fix my iPad for $20?
Alex: We're not selling vegetables.
Takes lots of patience to deal with the public
Amazing, great work, great fix. Thanks, greets
Well, at about 14:32 ( a little earlier maybe) the size of the q-tip shows how small that area you are working on is. Very very small.
we learn something…say hi to bigboss تحياتي لكم
Its funny to me to see an older guy like Big Boss repairing an IPad. My grampa doesn't even know how to turn it on..
That was a great repair job and so professional ! I just wonder if you can repair a solar charge controller? Some of the components have their code numbers scratched off so it is difficult to know where to start, I think that the manufacturer has done this to make repairs very difficult? What can I do? any help? ☹️
What is your temperature setting on the hot air ? Thanks for all the great UA-cam :)
Wow! YOU are fantastic Mr. Alex!
YOU can even grow hair on a USB!
Nice and great job
wow, what a surgery. that's exactly what it is
Im just here for Big Boss😁
that has to be the hairiest micro usb connecter i have ever seen 🤣😂
Theirs time that I’m happy that I was the first one to like comment and share his hard work Alex and big boss !! Sir with all the respect but from my point of view you should make a channel for big boss , and you’ll triple your net gross
Big boss. Time lapse video. Tear down and reassemble video. Sneak in some ASMR content for the freaks out there as well
@@da-voodoo-shuffle hello yes I know I was just putting my opinion out their it will be nice to see more of big boss and see the way he has way of working ?
Where do you get those magnetic plates for holding screws those look nifty!@
Don’t know if your bank notes are like ares in UK but can you check them with your UV light?
Can never fathom out just WHY people trust important data to Apple Crapple never fails to amuse me .
14:43 Cursed USB connector.
just the tip?
Why none make phone, with replaceable data backup chip. Same as computer backup portable hard drive.
now we know
Wow these are reaally iny chips
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Imagine What they do if you are unable to fixit
$2000? Who was that guy
Love this fella. He rocks straight into the content, he doesn't NEED crappy intro/logo/music, he doesn't waffle, he doesn't push crappy VPN/sports drinks/etc, he stays on topic and ends once he gets the message across. Awesome man.
Yeah agreed. Huge put off is when a channel makes a 4 hour video on a 10 minute subject.
Great guy
Nice to hear Alex regaling us with his tales of meeting drug dealers, LOL
Don't judge anyone
It Can Be someone in gambling or landromat Business as well
@@ErickBuildsStuff I think they were school teachers.
@@ErickBuildsStuff Yeah, could be, cos I know loads of legit business owners that walk about with "another man" carrying 10 grand in cash in a bag, LOL
@@ErickBuildsStuff laundromat like in breaking bad?
@@ErickBuildsStuff You know what all those cash businesses have in common right? Not just your clothes that are getting laundered. 🙂
Showing Big Boss reassembling, is an artform and a skill in itself. Relaxing to watch him do his thing!
Bet he loves jigsaw puzzles in his spare time. lol
"Customer comes back, Okay i wanna fix it, so $700? , no today we are doing it for $1000" 🤣🤣
I had a customer once who asked me how much would it be to replace the battery for an electic scooter that he would pay me for taking a look inside and get the battery details and measurements because he was going to order one from China. He already was expecting to pay about £300.
When I told him maybe it's the charger's fault, I'll take a look and test if you need a new battery or a charger.
Then, once I tested and saw he only needed a new charger for £30, he gave me £100 total so 3x times the price of the product.
based customer
Amazing how the flux keeps the solder on the pads with no bridges
We have learned, through experience, to never judge a book by its cover. Customers that leave tips like this should be embraced as small companies are fighting to stay above water. To jump the line and get something fixed instantly is worth a lot to the person that needs it. Sometimes a device with sensitive information stops working and needs to be recovered to get wiped and remove the sensitive data. Everything has a price and giving a tip this large and carrying around that much money, makes one question. Now we need to remember to never judge a book by its cover.
Yep, for that price, my guess is that client had a lot of sensitive data on that ipad, data that could make or break something quite big
Absolutely fascinating, Alex you an electronics genius. You could repair a warp drive in a starship. Many best wishes to you and family.
Alex, good job as always. I think you should put a couple of videos out featuring Big Boss's disassembling and reassembling in real time. This might help people understand the cost as well.
Big boss is serious
Imagine people meeting him on the street and saying "hey Big Boss!"... ahah
I guess you got tipped by a happy customer.
The soldering jobs seem always so simple, when the picture on the microscope is large. When one tries it the first time, the need of steady hands can be rather different experience in the real world.
Great video...a little longer with a good story and dialog, a successful repair/great soldering AND Big Boss! What more could you want?!?
Great work as always, I already knew they were microscopic but comparing it to a micro usb charging plug and my goodness, that is small, too small, too too small perhaps.
great video as usual Alex , may i suggest that you make your own ad containing everything that you sell with updated status instead of just listing them in each video because sometimes people don't concentrate in every word you say and even they watch the video muted , just a small suggestion ( it will be an extra work but it's worth it ) as for the 2000$ tip i think you deserve more because if anyone pays , he pays for your knowledge and experience , and truly you deserve to be appreciated considering everything you do on the channel , it's like the Joker's quote from the Dark Knight ( If you're good at something , never do it for free ) 😅 , أخوك نديم من مصر
people will just skip it if you do it like that. just let the man talk.
watching Alex and his comments muted? That's a blasphemy!
@@zoezebra4013 😁😁
@@zoezebra4013 Well, hearing for 100th time that they are major sellers of Amtech flux, everything he uses can be bought on their website, etc. can get kinda annoying pretty fast.
Always an expert job! Well worth the bag of money =D
I once looked up data recovery for a harddrive I had that had broken. $1200. Fuck that I thought and download a program call getdataback and recovered the data myself. I did have to get a second drive to do it though. Mine wasnt broken though, I had just happened to delete the partition so all the data was there. In the end it worked out fine.
exactly what i say when people want to bargain with me. "not a vegetable market, you want it or not?"
I heard we can use reusable clay to cover the plastic connector to avoid melting
That customer giving you 4x the amount you charged him probably had very shady stuff on the hard drive.
Here's 2000 dollars.... Take my money ans shut up! 😂😂😂 More stories like this , please. I also had a customer that for a 50 dollars job, he offered me 150 and he left .......
you are one of the best technicians on youtube in my eyes, great work NorthridgeFix!
Got a 2K drug money payout lmao. It is a lucrative business.
Good morning all ☀️
Morning mate 👍
Gidday!
Good morning at 10:17AM... jeah just woke up 30min ago 😂🤣
4:30 Evening here
Your prices seem reasonable . Some people have no idea how difficult your work is and how expensive your equipment and setup is.
@@Brianck1971I mean technically if the service involves him using said tools you’re paying for him to use his tools to service your item.
@@Brianck1971 Yes you are, you just don’t know it usually.
@Brianck1971 it's built into the price
@@Brianck1971 how about you take your cheap bum somewhere else lol, your the type to search on query cheap service lol
@@Brianck1971If the prices are too low is imposible to buy good quality equipment.
Modern electronics are complex if you don't have the tool is imposible to fix.
Alex has great humor. Fun to watch how he repair. The men of men.
Good repair, another happy customer. Of course, what you need now is a small couch and free tea machine in reception, for undecided customers and QC's / Chinese / dealers with red bags, ho, ho.
Its a nice touch to the end of the videos and seeing big boss finish off the job.
I just love the detail you put into your work. I am in Canada. I fell with my Galaxy 20 FE . I took it to a local shop they replaced the screen about $225.00, in a few weeks I noticed the back was coming off the phone in the Otterbox. I took it back in they resealed the back and told me the battery was swelling you could feel it lumpy from the back, said I need a new battery. I went home with it I pressed on the back for a while and it all "Smoothed Out" Now there are clamp marks on the screen protector from the clamps they used. Should I take it back in?
Ask them to change it
many youtube DIY videos about changing battery. not recommended but once i made a pin sized hole in outer wrap of battery so gas can escape and swelling decreases.
@@JaiShreeRamJSR Will do
You need to also change the battery before something happens. I wouldn't take the risk with a samsung battery.
@@mrmarr8308 I don't think the battery is a problem. Phone isn't more than 16 months old. I think it wasn't properly reassembled as in the battery wasn't properly replaced. A battery is about $20.00, I ordered one before I got the back smoothed out. If it "pops up" I will replace it I guess.
Thanks.
Big Boss is very professional in his work and is very positive and calm. thank you Alex for another great video and life lesson. I wish you a nice day ☺️
I like how your boss said ''Bismillah'' before starting with reassembling, you guys are awesome, especially you Alex, the smile on ur face when you fix something makes my day.
With "Inshallah" anything is possible. :)
I don't negotiation either. If someone goes down on price, it makes me want to walk away. This man know's his shit.
Alex, you are a surgeon! Also, I really appreciate your no nonsense method of doing business.
😘😘👍👍
wow , your microscope truly is super GOOD! ..NO MOTION Blur! Always see components clear when shaking..not only clear but it also seems to 'recognise' and display the flat board (background) and every element ,dust even, 'height' ..ontop as TWO seperate super clear layers!.. when screen jiggles its awesomeness is truly revealed . .its a beauty!. thanks i now know what im gonna buy myself for xmas. 🤩
I heard big boss said "bismillah" before he began the assembly! Did I?
they are Syrians origin
"If we don't start, we're not going to finish" Holy balls, that was profound. Fanfuckingtastic motivation and way of thinking. I love it. ~Chefs kiss~
footage of big boss assembling the ipad is probably shot in real time...
I know these type of questions - the price is the price, but they always try to decrease the price. I am also not selling vegetables here hehehe :)
Alex,..you are "the King of Liquid Metal"; Repairer of Choice for 'The Terminator.' ; Mentor of all 'Tech-Mechanics' ; Philosopher of The New Age ; High Priest of Micro-tronics ; Lord of the UV Demons ; Re-Inventor of Better-Than-Factory ; Prince of UV Masks ; Ruler of the 9th Dimention and Repairer of Choice to GOD... and you are still HUMBLE... I can't believe it !!! lol
Big boss needs the youtube time at the end he needs the fan love.
gave a thumbs up for this one.
was awesome to see big boss also work his magic.
thanks for adding him in!
Typical Apple "don't repair, just buy new" ..no wonder we have so much e-waste. it's disgraceful
Alex!
Aiding and abetting is a crime!! HAHAHAHAHA!! JUST KIDDING!!
I wouldn't put to much emphasis on the "laptop getting fixed" as much as what kind of data that laptop had stored!
As a tech myself, my only guess is that either there was some important legal documents that needed to be retrieved for a criminal or civil case, or some serious drug dealer/mob list of accounts/data that needed to be retrieved.
This is very likely the work of MS13 or some other gang. But typically what you dealt with is cartel behavior: Anything or everything at all costs!
Consider yourself now a friend of the cartel (Better Call Saul Reference!).
Regardless, good work and please keep up with the interesting stories!
I'm hooked watching these fixes. Is your service worldwide? Could I send something for repair from the UK? Can I buy from the shop and send to the UK please?
Same like most of my customers…they always gave me extra tips because they said they can’t find better quality plus other shop charge more but zero quality..because they pursuing quantity over quality…..
"we are safe now right?"
Wrong?
"right"
Oh OK 😂
I used to build and sell spy equipment, I loved meeting the gangsters, They were usually dumb but really street smart unlike geeky me, We would rob them blind. Got into work one day and the secretary had sold them £3k worth of goods, All the notes checked out, he came back a month later really happy and spent another £2k
that $2000 payments sounds like a $200 donation to your favority charity..and you're still $1400 ahead. At least a pizza for the staff..
Build one ultrasound cable, and you will realize how easy pcb stuff is. This stuff is huge compared to wires the size of your hair
Someone enlighten me no pun intended lol. What’s the anti reflection system being used ? Currently I have a similar setup with a ring light, trinocular amscope and a 4k camera.
I have watched many many videos on this channel and used the knowledge I get here to fix a lot of devices I was supposed to return no fixes. Thanks Northridge Fix
Bu adam harika işler çıkarıyor, tam bir profesyonel
Give me the name of the guy with the bag of money... Just kidding. As usual Alex you did wonders, again you can't buy experience and you have plenty of that my friend, well done.
The guy didn’t realise the info on the HHD / SSD was transferable. Stupid dealer
We need a c-type charger board tester.
All he does is basic level troubleshooting and talk more and do lengthier video noobs go crazy over them. GPU troubleshooting the toughest,.. Which he safely ignores
6:29 little OT: what is this "swimming picture" actually cause by?
I have seen this on TVs. But why is this? And what it this called?
It kind of sounds like your best friend is the customers lack of backing up knowledge.
I heard a lady on talk-back radio one day all but crying because she lost her phone in a cab, and it had her only photo's of her child who was in hospital with not long to go - no backup strikes again.
Alex has great humor. Fun to watch how he repair. The men of men.
I don't know why you don't use Kapton (transparent yellow) tape to protect the componentes around the chip getting the heat from the hot air gun ???
Why Alex ??
I watch your videos everynight sometimes before sleeping because I feel relaxed when I watch your repair videos. I learn somethibg new everyday even though I only have soldering iron and lead. I still practice to be better technician someday.
No, now its a 1000. That cracked me up! 🤣 ua-cam.com/video/xrQkpaEfsgE/v-deo.html
