    I have something for you to try. Thermal printing paper. Place on the suspect area. Mark and index it for it's location. Apply pressure with a soft sponge and apply voltage. The black hot spot says heat. I worked with those printers and the print is amazing. A microscopic pattern of cross wires, heating and cooling in microseconds.

    I also wanted to thankyou sincerely, I've gone from simple changing power sockets and hard drives in laptops and PCs over the last 25 years to successfully changing HDMI ports, USB C ports, back light repairs, motherboard repairs. I've seen a lot of repair business not keep up and close down, which has increased my work load. I especially appreciated the soldering lessons. I have you to thank for my ongoing board repair training. I've got very happy customers and repeat business from your mentoring. Even though you don't know me id like to give you a handshake one day and send best wishes to you and your family to do well in the future, I can carry on making an income to support mine, Many Many Thanks. I think that another and not less valid reason to use caps in series is to lower the total ESR. It's done on conventional ATX pc motherboards where space is not an issue. We are using the method when designing preamps and so on

    Also the several capacitors in parallel are better than a single one equivalent to the sum of all because the ESR (equivalent serial resistance) decreases because all individual ESRs are in parallel.

    Genuine question, regarding the caps. I like the guard analogy you give regarding why there are so many.
    However, I'd love to know why you think the manufacturer places to many "unneeded" caps and components onto their devices? I mean, if its say 1 cap per iphone, and that cap is 1-5cents, that soon stakes up to lots of money across just one model.
    Or is it simply because you only expect/want the device to last as long as it would take to recover the data, and are not expecting a long term "repair"?

    • @Mueller3D
      @Mueller3D 6 місяців тому

      The manufacturer has to consider every possible use case, such as running the camera, flash, ringer, etc. all at the same time. They also provide extra margin to help make sure the device will work well for a long time. Like you say, just for data recovery, all of that margin is not necessary.

    Yeah, customers like to undercut other people's work. They have a few files to backup, and then they want a cheap price because "it is just a few files". One can't charge by the file.
