Big boss got so familiar with your successful repairs that it doesn't excite him any more lol. Another great video, thank you for uploading (and huge thanks to unimpressed big boss too :D)
I am now 51 years old. From my teenage age, I always had a passion for learning stuff like this. And although I did Electrical and Electronics Engineering I just never got down to troubleshooting at a component level. Any advice how i could attempt to start learning to do stuff like this as a hobbyist?? Thanks in advance
I'll never understand people who don't back up their phone contents every couple of months, especially if you have sensitive data that you can't afford to lose. Same as people who only have one hard drive in their PC and then panic when it conks out.
Usually is one of the following things: 1) the convenient attitude "It didn't happened before(so it wont happen in the future)". I've heard people that thinks exactly that way. 2) just pure laziness. 3) completely unaware. Or it could be a combination of the three things.
true. This happened to me once and then got paranoid. Now my PC has 4 hard drives with a program that runs in the background which automatically backups all my files into each drive every 6 hours
Hello, what program do you use to do that, I was looking for one to do that but couldn't find many options, I don't want to mirror the whole drive just my user files, Cheers @@dieselgeezer18
It's just practice - the more you do it, the better you will get. Grab some old junk boards and practice. You will be making a great job before you know it. If you already are, just keep doing it. 👍
This is only a guess, but I suspect the customer had stressed that they were most concerned about the data recovery, not whether they were getting a functional phone back. Once you've got the phone to a state where data recovery is possible, then it's probably best to leave it at that. As it happens, there were two caps in parallel next to each other, and they have a range of tolerances, so it is quite possible that one cap is capable of doing the job of smoothing well enough for the phone to work fine, as it seemed to.
There are a lot of caps that reduce noise and offer a variety of protection to the circuits, so for short term use for data recovery it almost certainly not needed.
I replaced my 6 when the touch no longer worked. All the shops said they couldn’t fix it and it would require advance soldering to change the required IC. I think you could have fixed it easy!
Unless you know the grade of solder is different for a particular application, almost all consumer electronics products use the same stuff so therefore the same temp.
Hi Sir, May i ask what's the problem with my ipad mini 2? i replaced the battery and digitizer, when i turned on my device the logo appears but once i release the power button apple logo disappears immediately and stuck on black screen but the backlight is on. please sir i need your help.
I am running laptop service business .. I want to see how your recording repairing videos and editing & mic & how many camera .. and etc. That will truly help for my business .
Sir, I from India 🇮🇳. my iPhone 5s stucked on apple logo 5 years back,. Because I have photographs in it I haven’t done factory reset yet, I need photographs which in it can you please do it for me....!🙏🏻
I have a problem with bittloker key and it's 512gb nvem ssd and i have more than 140gb on that so i need recovery that data and i am from India and , i wish you will definitely see my comment and fix this problem and tell me solution for this , sir
When setting up bitlocker it gives the option to save the encryption key on the Microsoft cloud. Perhaps you did and it’s just matter of logging into your Microsoft account and finding it.
BETTER THAN FACTORY!

Watching your videos has helped my troubleshooting abilities grow by leaps and bounds.
A great way to start a Sunday: Fresh coffee and a "Bettery than Factory" repair at Northridge Fix. Good morning Alex, Big Boss, Pops and Dolly.
you deserve the best. u r well educated with personality 👍👍 fan of u
Well spotted, that was very subtle that hot cap reacting with the alcohol
Great work Alex, my brother used to say ,experience is the best teacher!
Logic, experience, and the indispensable thermal camera.
Your process is impressive. It would have taken me a decade to find the issue (probably destroying the device in the process).

You're already learning it by watching these videos.
Wow what a great job. Where on earth do you get the diagrams for the iPhone without those it would be impossible to fix.
Love your videos

i think for most people it takes losing a bunch of sensitive data for them to be concerned enough to save their data redundantly

Amazing work as always!
Just Awsome from explaination, fault finding.
Great video
Excellent Work
Very professional as always!😀
Great video for curious viewers, 1 question many of us would have wanted to ask is that why you didn’t replace the cap. ?You just left it removed.
Same, if the phone works without it, what was its purpose?

The customer wanted the data off the phone so that is why he didnt replace the cap
he said it in the video
There are a lot of caps that reduce noise and offer a variety of protection to the circuits, so for short term use for data recovery it almost certainly not needed.
Did you get that house?! :)
Can someone explain why the capacitor did not need to be replaced?
My guess would be that removing 1 decoupling capacitor (with another next to it) won't have too big of an impact on the impedance profile.
you are crazy man i love your videos for me nr1 for repair ❤❤❤
Your are amazing & ur repair is amazing
Thanks for sharing this with us
I'm always curious why removing components that are shorted have no effect on the functionality of the device. Why is it there in the first place?
Hi Alex, love your channel. I see you sometimes use apple board diagrams. Would you mind sharing a link where to download those?
Your channel is awesome.
Hello Sir, what program do you use to open layout and schematics, and where can we get the schematics diagrams of the products?
The schematic program in this video looks like Phoneboard (Google it)
Due to the red and yellow, that looked like ZXW. You buy it online, comes in a USB stick and you can get updates.
i mainly use phoneboard
thank you, does it offer schematics and layout for phones and laptops?@@prlum9283

its quite comon fail on the 6 and 6 plus caused by bending on the board arround the touch chip
I wonder what the temperature Alex uses to remove the caps
Alex said in other video he almost always uses 500F/260C
@@TheWitcherX Thanks for the reply.. I have seen that but on all devices?

Can you collect all the Caps for one year ? 😅

Someone needs to make a phone charger that also backs up your data.
No thanks, don’t need my backups online on a cloud somewhere in china
@@dominicwehrmann8515how about local storage on the charger itself. If it had some internal memory and logic built into it.
You can do that automatically when connected to your pc with itunes LOL
Better than factory
Better than OEM
Why do people pay for repairs just for data? Regular backups are free.
