A stock kia sorento can do this. Literally. Kia engineers did. The only modification that was done was sway disconnect, A/T tires (they come with all seasons from the factory for the soccer moms), and a skid plate (to protect the oil pan). I would be very worried if it couldn't make it up since it essentially has lockers on demand on the front and rear.

Now if you could fix the steering failures, give it mechanical backup steering, make it look like the prototype again, beef up the paper thin upper control arms, give it good looking rims again, and make stainless steel that doesn't rust or at least wash it before you deliver it, and drop the price to at least reasonably near the reservation price, that would be great. Oh yeah, and actually test them before you launch them and deliver them with features that are done and you can actually turn on. I'm sure I missed a few things.

It's going to take a couple of decades to build enough EVs for everyone. If you want to wait at the back of the queue and let other people go first that's no problem at all. By the time you have to switch all the kinks will be ironed out and range and charging will be much improved. Just look how far things have come in the last 14 years!

@@aravindradhakrishna8660 It looks effortless because it is. The trick is that they likely hired a professional driver and/or practiced a lot. Electric cars have a lot of torque and it's independent of rpm, plus they have very low center of mass due to the battery, so they are excellent at climbing. The only issue the CT had so far was the disabled lockers, as soon as one wheel lost traction, it got stuck. This video likely means that the lockers are finally available. Also, I haven't seen a proper off-road test by anyone who knows how to drive off-road. There were a few tests by pros, but they haven't posted any videos, just short clips.

I'm still on the fence about electric vehicles for me personally, but there is no doubt this is an amazing engineering accomplishment. Well done!
It's going to take a couple of decades to build enough EVs for everyone. If you want to wait at the back of the queue and let other people go first that's no problem at all. By the time you have to switch all the kinks will be ironed out and range and charging will be much improved. Just look how far things have come in the last 14 years!

I've only seen a few of these attacks, but this one looked effortless compared to a couple of the Rivian and even Jeep clips.

It looks effortless because it is. The trick is that they likely hired a professional driver and/or practiced a lot.
Electric cars have a lot of torque and it's independent of rpm, plus they have very low center of mass due to the battery, so they are excellent at climbing. The only issue the CT had so far was the disabled lockers, as soon as one wheel lost traction, it got stuck. This video likely means that the lockers are finally available.
Also, I haven't seen a proper off-road test by anyone who knows how to drive off-road. There were a few tests by pros, but they haven't posted any videos, just short clips.
Honestly, this has a lot to do with the driver, a good driver would go up hell's revenge effortlessly in both a rivian and jeep.

Thats so cool! Tesla is the one car brand that really makes me excited for cars and vehicle technology, normally I'm more the "as long as it gets me from A to B, I'm good"-type of person.
Nothing can beat the instant torque of electric motors.
Actual off roaders have more torque than the cybertruck though. They have low range 4x4.

@@gregsmith7821I think they were showing proof of three vehicles made. I saw one around here in Dana Point making four so far😂. My old 2002 Mercedes ML 500 could have driven up that. It used to be around a 5min recharge cycle.
