I have one. None of these " tips" work and I've had problems since new for several years now. By far the absolute worse ice maker experience ever. Nexy unit will not be an LG.

Be sure your LG freezer section is set to -4 degree. Ours was at 1 degree and the icemaker couldn't keep up until we changed it.
Have an 5 year old LG, 4 door fridge freezer and the icemaker quite working and shortly after the freezer section would not freeze and the fridge section went warm, turns out the compressor has a know design problem. The LG support online charge a flat fee to fix the problem of $279. They changed the compressor without even doing any test but that fixed the freezer fridge problem but icemaker would still not make ice automatically but would make one batch of cubes if the reset button pushed for 3 seconds on ice maker. They came back a second time and changed the icemaker no charge but that did not fix the problem. Last 2 possible problems are either the printed circuit board at the top of the fridge door or the Mother board in the back of the fridge. LG has been very courteous and helpfull to ensure the unit works completely.
What about a (semi loud) squeaking noise every time I go to get ice?? If I'm pressing the button for a glass of ice, I hear the squeaking sound for almost the whole time. I only had the refrigerator for a week.
guess i shouldn't be too upset my icemaker is on the fritz--looks like a fairly common problem! while far from perfect (intermittently on the fritz) it did hold up for maybe 5+ years. now we just put ice in the ice bin and dispense--works great, except for the big bag o' ice that takes up the valuable freezer space

Hello, I have the same refrigerator that you show in the video. Mi ice is like too high/tall, so when it's done it goes down like a block and not individual. So the machine can never broke them. How can I down the level of water to have the ice with less high/tall?
I use my ice dispenser every day but I have to clean it out bc of clumps once a week. Do the rakers need to be sharpened every year or so? All the other problems do not apply to my ice maker is there any other reason why it would not be letting it pass through

We have a Kenmore but same ice maker. We can get water out of the door but water is not getting to the ice maker. We ordered a new ice maker (our 3rd in 8 years) but still no water to ice maker. Help! What should I do? besides buying a new fridge.
We’ve had problems with this icemaker since right after we bought it five years ago. It jams at the chute all the time since day one. Now the past couple of years it will get stuck when rotating and make a knocking noise and get stuck. If I catch it when it first starts knocking, I can squeeze the tray up and get it to finish rotating and fill up again, but at this point like someone else said, we might as well just keep buying bags of ice.

This is the exact reason I'm here, trying to find answers. Wake up in the middle of the night because the ice tray is going KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK for about 30-60 seconds before it finally gives up. If I can get there in time, I hit the tray with the heel of my hand to knock the ice free. Really annoying.

I'm having issues with the 2nd ice maker in the freezer. Cannot find any info on it, only the door ice maker.
*I thought if the indoor ice make gets full, the inside the freezer storage starts making ice by itself, no?*
My issue is how the hell do you stop the ice maker from clumping up the ice it's causing a headache constantly trying to get ice but it's clumped together or if it is come together and you are able to use the crushed ice option just to unclumped the ice and that becomes a headache in itself what I want cubed ice
Bought all New LG appliances couple yrs ago. Ice maker is junk,replaced and still junk,circuit board went bad on range. Run don t walk from LG. The old ken more style ice maker still works. Who invented LG s style ice maker ? We put a man on the moon in 1969 and this is all the better LG can do,,,,,,,Really !!!

Please clear any debris that may be preventing proper drainage. Be sure to clean the filter. A clogged filter will negatively affect draining performance. Absolutely 💯 Facts! I came here to find out why my ice maker is leaking. It’s dripping from the ice cube tray into the stored ice. Which then it clumps. Then the chute leaks everywhere.
I have the exact same issue! Ice clumping imediately and fridge leaking :/ Did you find a solution? I tried it now at even -19°C in the hope it would freeze faster, but it did not help at all
Bumping this- did either of you have any success? I assume it’s clumping due to water dripping but I can’t be sure I don’t see it
@@That-Google-Guy Nope, I haven’t. it’s still dripping and making the ice into an iceberg unless someone basically “milks” the ice maker, taking small amounts of ice every couple of hours. Even if you do that, the ice maker leaks from the inside of the fridge and out the flap. I make sure we get all the ice out, so it’s gotta be the excess liquid that doesn’t freeze onto the ice.

I love how she says that if the unit dispenses water, then water is available to the ice maker. In my case the water dispenses just fine, but NO water goes to the ice maker. Now what?

@@susan1895 Yes, I followed the instructions exactly to reset the icemaker, and it came back to life. It's a 24 hr operation to do it right.

How do you change filter
I just got an LG Fridge, LFXS269735. The unit is only a few weeks old and the in door ice maker does not drop ice anymore. I have to use the test button to make it drop. Ridiculous.

My refrdgerator and ice maker works fine, but the ice bucket mechanism to grind ice is broken. Platic cogwheel is broken and i can't buy only this one part. Why do I need to buy a whole ice bucket? That's terrible !!!

Ice Clumping Thanks for telling me that it's happening and not how/why it's happening. And "using it regularly" what every hour? we use it daily and yet the ice still clumps continuously.
It would seem that replacing the filter has helped my issue.

ive never experienced clumps but this sounds like you just turn on the crushed ice setting or get a chunk yourself

I am listening to my SpacePlus Ice System beep on and off all day and night. I've turned on/off, I've emptied, I've played with all front buttons that seem applicable, I've tried everything I can think of, and this video didn't help at all. Just bought this house and can't get away from this stupid beeping. Very random - sometimes goes on for hours then stops for an hour or so. What is the story!??!
Just recently my ice maker is consistently clumping the ice into a big ball in the bin every day. I clear it out daily but it always happens again. And ice is getting stuck in the shoot while trying to dispense it, so its useless trying to use it. Could the auger be damaged? If anyone has some real ideas on how to fix this please let me know. David I just read about your ice maker. The problem is to much water pressure. Clean where the water comes in to fill, and turn down where your water come from. The water is spraying and getting in between the tray and out side cover, and freezing. Locking ice stray.
Also it will run down into ice bin freezing ice to gather.
Nothing but trouble with my LG ice maker it makes ice but will not dispense, "three repairs s done" replaced ice maker and heating element in the freezer still the ice maker is intermittent I am at the point of rolling the whole thing out to the alley for junk pick-up 3k badly spent. No more LG products for me
The ice maker is not designed to actually work! Water droplet will cling on the sprout outlet thence freeze up, more ice will accumulate eventually blocking the water flow.

Is the ice tray dislodging so it makes a clunking sound and does not dispense? That's what mine is doing. Makes ice just fine, but after a couple of cups, the tray dislodged and the drive looses contact.
I wanted to leave a comment for a while now as we have dual ice maker LG fridge and it was cold but not freezing the top shelf stuff was thawing and ice makers would fill fine but never dump. We had a new one actually almost out the door from Lowes but due to COVID the delivery was going to be over a month so we went home and I swear I pulled fridge out of its space turned it around and put it to the side wall of kitchen and have not had a problem since. It might not work for everyone but I’m telling you we almost spent another 2800 bucks on a new one and this one is running great I can barely have time to fill my cup of ice before it’s dropping ice again into the bin. Wish I had read these comments before I bought an LG. We have the same problem, but can't get the bin out. The repairman won't even come out to fix it.

@@kbanghart go on the LG site and request a technician. For me the service charge is 40 dollars and they may not be able to fix the parts it says. So the dude probably spends more money in gas and food to get here lol

The LG icemaker continues to have ice reset problems and stops making ice on a refrigerator that is relatively new but, out of warranty. These ice makers should be replaced at no charge by LG

I have replace 3 ice makers. The line constanly freezes and I have to get a hairdryer out to unfreeze. This is an awful experience.

My ice is small after I cleaned out the fridge and freezer.
At no time did they address “icemaker not making ice”
My Ice maker is always full up and blocked. I have enough ice to build a homeless shelter for a family of penguins, just a shame I cant make a cold drink !

So if there is ice in the maker and water is working and it won’t flip to empty the made ice. Then you make sure there is no overflow freezing mechanism you turn on and off but still won’t flip over to empty ice. Then you try to put warm water to melt it. Still won’t flip out Ice. So how do you open it to empty ice and let it start over????

same problem here. when the stupid thing makes ice, its a once in a blue moon thing and will take months before it decides to flip out more cubes. machine just does it when it feels like it.

I always have to press the dispense button to eject ice into the tray. Nothing is stopping it. It just doesn't wanna dispense, so we never get ice.

@@jonathankearney669 Add one more to the list. Ice maker makes ice (LG in Kenmore Elite) but won't dump into ice bin unless use reset button. Was told it's the auger Motor (even though I can get ice from reset to dispense into glass...uses auger) last resort coming UPS $200 main circuit board. Will let you know if this is THE FIX.

Our LG refrigerator ice maker stopped working as soon as the warranty expired. It worked for a few months then it stopped working. Then a few months later, during winter, it suddenly started working again. And because it's winter my wife decided to turn it off "to save it some time" she said as her reason for turning it off. When the summer came, we decided to turn it back on. This time it just wouldn't work at all. If you need a good refrigerator with a reliable ice maker, stay away from LGs.

#WTF my two year old LG Sideby with drawers Clumps Ice every other day, and the translucent fingers at the bottom jam open making it difficult to remove the bin. This design is amazingly POOR! If that Mechanical engineer and Test team were working for me I would fire them! Does anyone know of an upgrade ice maker to replace this ice maker; or do I plan for a new refrigerator?!?! it overfills the ice tray, which i cleared of the ice block that was in there, and spills water on the floor. its not even 3 years old.
This did nothing to help troubleshoot that. I'll go Samsung next time.
Why dont you point out the test button on the underside of the ice maker?1? My maker froze and would no longer complete the dumping cycle and refill the water. I had to learn about the test button by watching other videos. The test button forces the ice cycle to complete and breaks up any ice that might still be in the tray. At least its a way to test if the motor is still working. LG needs to read these comments and adjust the trouble shooting videos...
This comment should be at the top of the list!!! The test button isn't in the owner's manual either. Shows how little LG cares about it's customers, they could easily add this test button to their video. Why haven't they?

Super bad experience with our LG. This is the first fridge we've actually bought new. We've enjoyed a much more positive experience with second hand fridges. Go figure. Won't be buying an LG next time.

Our LG fridge will fill the ice tray with water, the water will freeze, but the tray never turns over, so the ice never gets dumped. If I push the reset button, the tray will turn over, the ice will dump, and the tray will begin to fill with water again. Why will my tray not turn over and dump the ice on its own?

Tilted Tray: The ice tray may be tilted, preventing it from turning over and dumping the ice. Resetting the ice maker by turning it off and on again or pressing the reset button may help resolve this issue.

@@LGUSA Thank you. The ice tray will dump if I push the reset button but only if I push the reset button. It won't dump on its own once it has ice in it. It will just remain in place with ice it in.

my LG french door fridge does nothing but allow the ice to melt in that stupid in door ice maker because ICE MAKERS DON'T BELONG IN THE FRIDGE PORTION !

My LG has been ice clumping for 6 years since it was brand new. This forces ice maker removal with 15 to 15 ice cubes going all over my floor and digging the ice out. LG techs have tried to fix it twice but no change. This wouldn’t be so bad but we have to do this twice a week. LG this is a terrible design. My other three ice makers of different brands didn’t have this problem.
I guess I'm just old but an ice tray in a freezer is a tried and true method for me.
Our LG fridge is 5 years old and we are on our 4th ice maker. They freeze up and then break because of the poor design and engineering. Every time we have had a repairman out they say the same thing. Take my advice and never buy an LG appliance.
my experiences with this is how every time i cook something that requires boiling and open the freezer to get an ingredient during that, the ice makers joints get water on them and freeze up so they cant move. my solution? pour boiling water over everything and dry it up quixkly then dont use the freezer for the next 2 hrs
Don’t buy LG products pure JUNK, have a kitchen and laundry room with all LG , have had nothing but problems since purchased. Save your money and aggravation.

Called LG to see about ice maker about 1 week before warrantee is up and they told me to troubleshoot before they will send someonevout. Now, nobody can be out to "fix" it until after warrantee is up. What a scam.

@@LGUSA Who do you think you are making customers sign up for twitter or facebook? No way I will deal with a company who will not provide a direct email and phone to handle an issue. I was looking at purchasing an LG this month, however after reading these complaints and your (LG's) response I am rethinking completely. My current refrigerator is 16 years old and has had ONLY one ice tray replaced because the non-stick wore out. LG needs some REAL engineers to take care of its customers regardless of cost. Your reputation is at stake.

Have always had trouble with this ice maker. Constantly clumping, water constantly leaking down the sides. This then refreezes, making the bin difficult to get out. Horrible design. Will never buy this LG product again.
Same here. Ice doesn't stay solidly frozen, melts a little then refreezes into clumps which clogs up and won't dispense. When it does work, you get ice AND water out of the ice dispenser. Horrible appliance, never buying LG again!

We have the same issue:
1| Water leaks down the side of the Ice Maker Holder and then freezes locking the Ice Box to the ice maker and all the ice in one large clump. No ice can make it down the Icemaker.
2| I clean out the ice maker using a blow dryer since I can't remove the ice-box/holder.
3| I would use hot water but the entire area turns into a huge mess.
4| Two weeks later I am in the same situation after starting fresh.
We just always try to never have the left door open longer than a second or two to minimize the warming. Works at least temporarily. Then my son or I take our fist (or a mallet)now and then and rap the enclosure really hard to loosen any stuck ice. Don’t use a hammer!!!
I am very disappoint that LG is most worse refrigerator that bought so far, typical model LSXS22423S no temperature indicate inside the freezer area, if you need to read temperature, you have to put the thermostats to read it. The Ice make is very unreliable, 50% broken of the time after warranty expired.
The online document is terrible, very poor explanation.
Bottom line, please do not buy this product if you do not looking for headache!!

LG in door ice makers SUCK; they make about as much ice per day as putting two trays in the freezer. It's just a shitty design!
LG is not what it used to be, Samsung has gone down the drain as they have the worst customer support, LG is right behind Samsung. Even LG TV's Damage easily. Next time nothing LG for me.
I called them to get fridge fix and they send me a guy that is hired from an online site like Craigslist, shows up to my house in a t short and flip flops and looks like he was high.
LG is hiring untrained Bumbs to fix they're/Our products. Flip flops and a T Shirt, really LG ?
