I had an LG fridge with linear compressor that died gradually over 5 years. As an engineer, I decided to repair it as a project and learn about refrigeration systems. When changing the compressor out, I found black powder within the refrigeration lines. It is the root cause of the compressor failure and a sign of a manufacturing issue: no inert gas purging when the lines were brazed causing oxidation of the copper lines. Anyone with just basic understandings of refrigeration system would know that, so it is hard to believe such mistakes can be made in a factory with good quality control, or it was done on purpose for build-in obsolescence. A casual search on google will show you how unreliable LG refrigerators are.
LG should make my dad their brand ambassador, our house has been using LG products for 20+ years and he chose them all😂 no regrets, no complaints. Def love LG💯

Is there a way to make ice ball maker bottom arm pop open? I think mine is jammed. It keeps making half balls and leaking extra water into the tray freezing everything together.
We have LG LRMDC2306S. During first month we’ve had 4 service visits for craft ice maker not working. Each service call reveals the water feed line to the ice maker is frozen solid although the freezer temp is set at +4F. We added two thermometers into the freezer that log temp and they both show 4F so temp sensor is good. Does the craft ice maker line have a heater/defrost? Latest tech wants to switch out water feed line but by this point we have zero confidence LG know how to build a fridge.
