I just purchased this (Samsung bespoke counter depth model # rf23BB86004MAA) on Labor Day 2024 and my left side won’t stay open. I had the tech guy from Samsung care came out and he couldn’t figure out the problem, he said he’s going to order some hinges hoping to sold the problem . He even adjusted the legs make sure it’s all level so he checked everything and everything just fine but my left front door won’t stay open. Anybody have this issue? TIA. I’ll keep y’all posted when he gets back with his hinges…
@@azztastic00 Have this same issue on my right side door lol. Haven't gotten in touch with Samsung yet, it's slow to close so not super annoying but def doesn't seem normal!
@@clarim3059 sponsorship means Samsung paid for the video, or gave me the fridge. I paid for the refrigerator myself as an appliance business. The links allow people to look at them online from the various retailers that I am not. If they buy from the links, I get a commission. Samsung did not ask for the links or provide them.
Does the RF29DB9750QL have the same positive design elements as well? As someone who uses about half his fridge space for beverages, and has a big garage freezer, the four door idea of being able to use half that lower space as fridge space rather then freezer space really appeals to me.
I have the counter depth version of this, fantastic refrigerator coming from an LG and Samsungs, took a leap of faith and I am glad I did. It's completely different from the previous decade's line. This seems to be a rebranded Dacor, the high end brand that Samsung acquired. A few additional notes: It has both lower and upper grab slots to open the door with a clean look and no handles taking up depth space. I prefer the upper slots as a taller guy and you get used to not using/ needing handles. Color on the panels is only in front... the sides are not color-matched which might be an issue if yours sticks out because you'll see a different color. Panels can be dry erasable but it can definitely stain. Works with Smart things for stuff like door open notifications. I've had the pitcher since the previous version and it's been a game changer and I can't go back. Fill quick, but sometime has issues auto-filling if the overflow pan is full, but simple process to clear. Finally, be sure to check swing angles, it's not just about the opening width.
Long term GE owner here. Just got this Bespoke exact model delivered yesterday. I was overthinking whether we made right decision. thanks for this video helped with my peace of mind . Keep up great work
I had to change mine after over 20 years however not sure about choosing another GE. Too many owners are complaining that it's quite noisy. So most likely will go with Frigidaire.
All fridges suck. I researched stuff for months... You either get a shit ice maker in the fridge door or a shit ice maker on the shelf and you fight it for years... Literally GE and LG have their own issues. He's right , get one in the freezer at all costs... If you do that you are limited to which French door fridge you can get .. bespoke is one of the only one outside a model or two GE
GOOD ONE! I'm sure everything will go downhill in 1 year, you will need to defrost the evaporator every two weeks, pull the icemaker out, and melt all the ice frozen together, Call weekly to Samsung to have some type of service done until your warranty runs out LOL!!
@@toyotatacoma6817 the evaporator cover is sealed so it can't frost up. The icemaker is in the freezer so it cant frost over either... its exactly and specifically why I bothered giving this one any reccomendation whatsoever.
We just got a version of the Bespoke with the flex drawer and no Family Zone (built in tablet). It’s been awesome, and once we install the waterline, we’ll have the ice and beverage center to use. We got an excellent deal at where we got it- there was a mix up with the open box model we purchased, and we got this fridge new for under $1100. Our kitchen is small, but this is worth the space it takes up. We also live right by an authorized repair tech for Samsung (used them for our dryer) so we’re in good shape if we need repairs.
@willhandy4518 the water filters are super easy to change. It's right in the front center. Little push and a 90-degree twist, and it locks in place. Thanks to where it is, it's one of the easiest I've ever had to change.
Hey Ben, awesome review of the Samsung Bespoke model fridge. I bought the previous model with the tablet in the door & the terrible ice maker. Never had any issues with the tablet but because I purchased the extended warranty, Lowes came to the rescue after years & constant problems with the ice maker, deemed it irreparable and returned the purchased price, which spoke wonders to me about Lowe’s, & the extended warranty. I would never purchase any high cost appliance without the extended warranty, especially with the Samsung moniker on it! The Bespoke model may save the day for Samsung refrigerators & consumer wariness!
I have the 4 door, counter depth, with the beverage center for 4 years now. It's been good so far. Gets used a ton by our full size family with 5 kids. Only issue is with the beverage center pitcher. The auto fill doesn't work all the time. What I found is that the magnetic sensor that relays to the fridge to fill, doesn't line up perfectly anymore. When I place the empty pitcher back into the fridge I have to pull it back very slightly for the magnet and sensor to line up.
Does it seem easy to put a new magnet in there? A stronger magnet might be a quick and easy solution such as placing a rear earth magnet in there instead. (I'm ordering one of these suckers right now and want to know that there's easy fixes lol)
Great video Ben. This Samsung Bespoke fridge has been redesigned from the ground up. Glad to see that these models are made in Korea (including compressor). The previous generation french door fridges were made in Mexico. As a part time service tech with access to Korean service manuals, I haven't repaired a Bespoke model yet. Samsung learned their mistakes and delivered a quality fridge!
Very, very, very easy to repair like most other Samsungs. I was able to basically get everything apart without having to consult anyone on any part of the unit. Although I didn't tear down the freezer portion, it was just laziness on my part and I mapped it all out before shooting other parts of the video. Very thankful that somehow of all the things Samsung does bad, they can built a fridge that is easily serviced compared to, say, a Whirlpool with that garbage rear evap panel/icemaking system.
My family has been trash talking Samsung refrigerators for years, so when we bought our bespoke fridge (primarily because we love the look), I was nervous. This video has helped with my concerns
Thanks for this video. Based upon it's content I purchased this Samsung refrigerator (counter-depth) for our kitchen remodel. It has been fantastic in every regard. The ice maker is great with the two sizes of ice and the scoop fits perfectly in the carrier. The built-in pitcher holds exact volume of water to fill our coffee carafe and automatically refills with water from our R.O filter. I NEVER would have tried a Samsung refrigerator had it not been for your video. Thank you!! Oh, and I got it at Home Depot on sale for $1600. That is about the same price I paid for a scratch and dent GE a few years ago. As a bonus I don't have to keep removing the ice container from the door and breaking up the ice block!
I purchased a four-door bespoke RF29BB86004M Korean made refrigerator last week. It has the metal panel in the back and the metal panel on the beverage center door. I was getting out from under a 5 and 1/2-year-old LG on its third failure. I had watched a video of yours recently discussing how nobody made a rock solid refrigerator anymore. You discussed all the problems that came with complexity and what to avoid. Having not seen any of your other videos on Samsung apparently I chose this one because it ticked all the boxes. So far so good. It is nice to see that my choice wasn't completely off base. Despite the fact this is the same volume as my previous refrigerator reorganizing the interior and getting rid of handles saved me almost 4 in of floor space. I live in the Houston metroplex, and can readily access repair parts for appliance is myself. The only thing I've never taken on is the refrigerant. We also paid for the 5-year warranty through Lowe's just for peace of mind.
I can attest to this being a good model. We bought a new Samsung fridge a few years ago and had all of the horrible ice maker issues. Freezing up, leaking, terrible customer service... and the problems were never fixed. We sold the house and left the fridge. We moved into a rental while our new house is being built, and it has this exact fridge. We absolutely love it. No leaks, no problems, there's always ice, and it looks amazing. We will probably buy this model for our new house!
I didn't get the Bespoke because it was a little bit taller and wouldn't fit (additionally, the panel color I would have chosen was on back order. I was replacing a fridge that died, and couldn't wait 4 months.) However, I got the 4-door Flex that is essentially the same. Due to mobility issues, I simply can't utilize a big drawer freezer -- I can't reach to get to everything. I have the Beverage center, and I love this fridge. I love the two sizes of ice, and I love the four doors. The freezer space is so much more efficient to use than the side-by-side Frigidaire I replaced. I can see everything and get to everything. I use the infuser on the water pitcher in the Beverage Center all the time in the summer... continuously brewing iced tea!
Absolutely love my bespoke appliances. 2 homes full of samsung appliances, no issues at all. I appreciate the connectivity of everything and the modern clean styling. Produce stays very fresh for a very long time and the customizable 4th drawer is great. We use ours for bottled beverages which keeps everything out of the main refrigerator and gives more space. Although the full size is HUGE.
The most simple is the most expensive, sounds about right. The door construction is awesome, reminds me of my parents old 80's appliances. Simple, light, panels, skid right in and out. Be tough to sell me on the water center and ice makers though. My Kenmore (LG) 4 door through door dispense has been rock solid going on 5 years now.
LG makes the best in door dispenser on the market for sure. Thats also why I reccomend GEs - they licensed LGs design, but don't have the catastrophic compressor issues
Last year my Kemore Elite with the LG compressor died. Went shopping and no one had a white french door frig. Went online and Samsung had the Beskoke with white glass panels in 25 cuft. Ordered it online and they threw in a three year warrenty instead of one plus an extra set of glass panels in a color I hate and no choice but with free delivery and fast. It is a love hate relationship. I miss the handles and magnets don’t stick to it. The drawers store a lot of food. $200 worth or groceries fit in the drawers. Yes, I had to have Samsung make a warrenty call. The freezer drawer gasket leaked. The tech came out when I scheduled online. He replaced the gasket and he informed me that the drawer front was warped and needed to be replaced. He returned a week later and replaced it, all free under warrenty. He even answer some of my questions like the secrets about the magic pitcher and what to do when it does not fill up all the way.
Thanks for the info! As a note on the part of the video where I take off the glass panels - there's about a 1/4" gap between the glass and the steel backing. I wonder if you could line that gap with a magnetic metal that would allow something magnetic to adhere then to the glass...
@@bensappliancesandjunk I had never thought of that. The tech showed me how to remove and replace a panel using the suction cup that Samsung supplied with the extra usless panels. I would like to get stainless panels someday when and if I change out the other white appliances and redo the kitchen, but I cannot find Samsung offering them at this time. The tech answered a question I had. Can I use dry erase markers on the glass? He said yes. I have not tried it yet and frankly I am a bit afraid to. Maybe I will try it on my scrap extra panels first. Until then Postit notes will have to work for me. FYI the sides are black magnetic steel to hang some junk on. The frig has a clean look to it without the magnets, but takes time to learn to live without magnets on the front. I am sure Samsung will put the refrigerator magnet industry out of bussiness. The Samsung tech was the greatest, really. I doubt another one exists as good and friendly as he was. I was very lucky.
$200 in groceries wasted in one drawer when this contraption dies! Should have done your research instead of looking at how pretty it is. Samsung has the most complaints of any refrigerator including LG with bad compressors!
Our beloved GE fridge is getting on in years and we've been dreading getting a replacement. This is the first Samsung fridge I've seen that I looked at and said, "Wow, I don't hate this." We may not end up with it, because GE has been so good to us, but I do genuinely love the idea of having customizable panels and I can see local glass shops getting in on the action and offering logos, picture models, and all sorts of cool things that are compatible with these fridges in the future. Thanks for the teardown!
we have 2 of these and my parents have one. No issues, love the fridge. Only thing to note is that since the fan is near the top shelf its typically 4-5 degrees colder are the top shelf compared to bottom shelf. We have frozen eggs a few times that way lol.
I just bought one of these on a massive sale. Super glad that Samsung went to a simple and straight forward design but something that's pleasing to look at.
I have this same one with the beverage center. I absolutely love my fridge. I only bought it because it had a 10 year warranty. I've had it for almost a year and i have no complaints.
@@districtnerfco.8390 only thing ive noticed is the autofill pitcher sometimes doesn't recognize it's empty but if you just dry off the pitcher it'll be good. happened at like 6 months
i enjoy my family hub bixby talks to me and i get to watch tv while i cook , its nice. i wonder if i can chang out my ice cube trays , that would be super cool.
Thanks for convincing me I bought the right fridge after deliberating the idea for months. It is like you said, a great machine. I love it! Thanks bro for your great reviews and advice. Keep it going!
I wish I could buy on of the Sears fridges that were made 50 years ago. They were so dependable, some of them are still running. New fridges rarely run for 5-10 years anymore.
My 42 year old Sears fridge is still humming away down in the garage (not ideal location for a fridge). Like my 42 year old Sears lawnmower, it won't die!
Ended up buying exactly the model recommended here several weeks ago. The LAST thing I wanted was a Scamsung refrigerator, but it was literally the only realistic option (colour, size, etc.) that was in stock locally and available within a day or two. Thank you so much for making me feel like we've at least there's a chance I wasn't totally screwed!
The whole thing is that these may have one of the best sealed systems on the market. When people hate Samsung, it's usually for the icemaker. That's no longer an issue, and due to the new refrigerant, many companies are making errors whereas Samsung had already been using it for awhile so they are better off currently
@@bensappliancesandjunk Many people hating on Samsung Fridges are not always hating it for the icemaker. Many are hating on Samsung's garbage compressors, which apparently tend to die prematurely... sometimes within months of a purchase. There is no way I'd invest in a Samsung fridge at this point. Same for LG's linear compressors, which boast a 10+ year lifespan, but actually die at around 4 years (or less). Who wants to replace their fridge every 4 years or sooner? A fridge is not an iPhone.
I've got one that old in my garage. They were built to last, but they were not nearly as efficient as modern ones. They probably cost as much to run every year as a brand new fancy high-end fridge would cost!
@@bloodgain Yup, they are relatively inefficient but compared with modern ones of the same size the difference in energy use is about 30%. Electricity isn't expensive here and so many modern units are unreliable. My decision was/is easy.
My old Amana is 32 years old and works like a champ. I was doing some research before hand so when it dies I know what to look for. Fingers crossed it goes 40.5 and more!!!! Keep up the maintenance it seems to be worthwhile.
@@rickw5024 Yours has a LONG way to go. Maintenance for me is just keeping the condenser coils free of dust. I do have a spare evaporator motor since that is the thing most likely to fail. I replaced one a few years ago. Guess I should buy a spare condenser fan motor, too and maybe a contactor and timer.
I have the Bespoke with the internal pitcher and white panels just like in this video. Did a review on it too. So far it's fantastic, IMO. The autofill pitcher is my favorite feature, and the app can even connect to your amazon account and auto-ship filters for you when the fridge needs them. Best part is that I got it at Home Depot for only $1499. Great value, I think.
We got the four door Samsung model, with two side by side freezers at the bottom. I hate the sliding bottom freezer - they tend to get hard to slide in and out over time, and the food just piles up on top of each other and you can't tell what you have accumulated over time. The two top door refrigerator doors open up to a single space, giving it a much more open huge feel close to that of a SubZero type wide refrigerator. Have been pretty happy so far with the refrigerator. And oh, I have the thing plugged into two surge protectors. You have to treat all these modern appliances like your most sensitive electronics and protect them from local surges in the electrical wiring of your house.
Thank you for the review. I purchased a Samsung Bespoke and I absolutely Love it! I’m not into negative vibes so if you don’t like Samsung don’t buy it. They’ve made major improvements and the look is totally awesome 👏🏽.
@@cinders302 my sister in law has had her Samsung fridge for about 15 years and loves it. I generally don’t keep things that long, probably 7 years max. I gave my son my GE fridge at 7 years because I wanted a change.
As a tech i like all the changes they have done except for the fact they went away from copper for the lines coming out of the cabinet. I have the lokring tool but i prefer brazing, and most leaks i find is in the aluminum/ epoxy connections and thinking that they buried they in the cabinet worries me for internal leaks. I see the cap tube off the 3 way valve is copper but in the ff section its all aluminum. My concern is where did they transition from from copper to aluminum.
Great comment. This is a very interesting opinion and one thing I kind of cut from the video was the 3 way valve and lack of a typical expansion valve in the refrigerator. At least on the old ones in the US you saw a lot of issues around the cap tube coming into fridge cabinet, but I didn't mention this because their choice was just so foreign I didn't want to make heads or tails of it
@@bensappliancesandjunk enjoy all the videos you put out man. it was the only thing I found concerning how it's made, but I do majority sealed systems where I am so it's what I pay most attention to.
We bought a Samsung Bespoke fridge a year ago. Unlike the model shown here, ours has the beverage center that is accessible through a shallow door in the top left panel. Ours though is the model with the double door on the bottom, where the left houses the dual ice maker and some shelves and a drawer, and the right side can be switched from freezer mode to fridge temperature modes. I love that the freezer has pull out shelves instead of big deep bins. I know that for me, I'd have a difficult time keeping the deep bins organized. I love the idea that we can change out the glass panels to suit our tastes. We got the white for now and opted for the counter depth version. We ordered directly through Samsung. They had a much better price than any of the appliance stores and Big Box stores. It was delivered and installed only 4 days after ordering.
you are a lucky person. mine keeps food cool, but the regular cleaning out of the ice dam, having no ice because the interior tubes are frozen, is a common thing with their refrigs
I have one of these, we were in crunch since our fridge just died. Lowes had these in stock, so we got one. Overall weve had zero issues in 2yrs. We thought the compressor died as it was no longer cooling. Ends up, the coils just needed to be cleaned, and it needed to he restarted. Personally, i think the fridge is huge but the way the shelves are laid out...most of the space is wasted. It is hard to clean the coil as its in U shape, so its hard to clean the whole thing. Im happy i saw this video as I've been in pins and needles with this fridge for the last year
@@kimberlindy all years mostly the version that has the double door version, wiping down the sensor above the pitch can help but it's really just a roll of the dice
@@usedtoyotapriusfour2910 Is this an easy fix DIY? Or any way to jerry rig it as a permanent fix instead of the system they're running? Also when it fails does it overfill the pitcher or just not fill it? (One is clearly a lot worse than the other lol). I'm in the Houston area but am really interested in this fridge, looks like a few great deals out rn
@@Godz3211 you definitely can diy the repair, also ive never seen the pitcher over fill just under. honestly there really aren't any good fridges anymore they all have issues, my biggest recommendation is to see if the store you're buying from offers a extended 5 year warranty for sale at the store I work at a warranty for a 2k$ fridge runs around 250 to 300 dollars and will cover any repairs unless there's physical abuse. Out of warranty repairs usually run at least 275$ in just labor and it's more about when something breaks rather then if it does. Otherwise you only get a 1 year manufacturer warranty which isn't near long enough
Is a sub zero worth it? I owned one for 25 years with zero problems. Bought a new sub zero when we remodeled kitchen even though nothing was wrong with old one. Now I’m gonna sell home and build a new home and I wanted a stand alone refrigerator and a stand alone freezer. I’ll probably buy a fridge/freezer combo for everyday use also. Wasn’t sure if I should get another sub zero for fridge/freezer or something else. Also when it comes time to purchase a stand alone refrigerator and a stand alone freezer I will gladly pay for your time for recommendations on those units. Thanks and love viewing your Intel on appliances.
I bought this fridge based on your video and in the first 3 months the freezer stopped working. I opened it up to find puddles and melted food everywhere. The fan stopped working and the ice maker in the freezer never was able to produce much ice. I returned it thank god.
My parents just ordered the bespoke 28.8 cubic foot one with the morning blue top panels and the white bottom pannels. We can't WAIT! They have like a 14-year-old whirlpool which has been having some cooling issues, and the roughly 25-year-old Kenmore they've had since I was in elementary school as a backup so... time for an upgrade! In case you still haven't got one, I'll try to remember to drop a comment below about how it is/works. It is on sale through tomorrow at Lowes and also Best Buy, so very excited. Hoping for the best!
The current generation of Bespoke are great. I haven't had to repair too many of these - and of the ones I have had to do repairs on it was just the beverage center not working properly.
@@bensappliancesandjunk We have the Samsung Bespoke fridge and once or twice a year he pitcher will stop refilling. The fix is just wipe down pitcher lid (topside and underside of the lid) and the sensor surfaces on the roof of the beverage center. This fridge is night and day different from our old Samsung fridge. I took the risk on this fridge because the ice maker is freezer and it was very simple, I have not been disappointed.
@@bensappliancesandjunkBen - Yeah the fixes on this unit are incredible. A few screws and a securing bracket is all that's needed to get the beverage center removed. Entire process from start to finish is around 20 minutes of repair time.
@@mason5540The lower cost model without beverage center still has a cold water jug which you access from the inside. That sounds like the most reliable model.
We bought this fridge with just the addition of the extra drawer. It has just the pitcher in the door since we have a separate water cooler anyway. Love the ice. Ours has a metal back wall. The sleek squared off look with nothing on the front plus the ability to replace a damaged panel with small kids in the house is great.
I really wanted to get the bespoke fridge but was always weary of Samsung. I really appreciate your video on this because now I feel a bit more at ease investing in one of these units (the 3 door only)!
After Looking through a lot of your fridge videos I decided to get this one, and used your link too! Thank you for making your knowledge accessible to all of us!
I purchased a new Samsung 32 Cu. Ft. Mega Capacity French Door Refrigerator w/ Dual Auto Ice Maker. A very simple design very similar to this refrigerator. Five months old the freezer couldn't stay cold, many cancelled service calls and four repair visits and I still have the same issues. I couldn't deal with it any longer and purchased a GE.
Our 15 year old GE died a few months ago, so we bought this 3 door Samsung. So far we really like this one. It makes a lot of ice and the upper refrigerator area is very roomy compared to our old GE 3 door. The GE was notorious about the ice maker crapping out and the area under the party platter drawer always freezing up with a thick layer of ice that we had to keep chipping out so water wouldn’t run out onto the floor all the time.
I bought the 3 door bespoke from Costco about 6 months ago and it's been solid so far. I opted to not get the beverage center and instead got one with just the autofill pitcher. The Samsung deal at Costco made it a pretty solid deal. The only thing I dislike so far is how quickly the fridge yells at you for having the door open, I almost never get the groceries in it before it goes off. It's a minor gripe though.
Thank you so much, Ben. I honestly have no more trust with Samsung product anymore because I have been suffering with their fridge frozen issue in the last 5 years. First the frozen ice maker during the pandemic and I was happy that it was finally fixed last year for free but this year the back panel frozen problem popped up again. Of course , I was told by Samsung that this is no longer covered and I ended up paying for service and parts without any choice because the back panel fan stopped working completely. However, the problem still persist after I paid totally $1000 for 3 service calls. I am now afraid of calling and paying for service again with Samsung for no result and have decided to order the solution kits from you. In addition, I am going to install it myself because I am so sick and tire with a fridge problem every year and it is recurring every weeks. No more Samsung and I will stay with local brands only! Thank you for your effort creating the kits and videos with the real solution.
I have a Bespoke with flex drawer from a year or two ago and I’ve loved it so far, I’m glad to see Samsung is improving upon them, so far I’ve had no issues with mine knock on wood
I bought the Bespoke side-by-side around the time you released this video, though I hadn't seen your review before I bought it. So far I'm VERY pleased with it. I know I took a gamble with it being Samsung, but so far it's proving to be a good buy. Has Samsung turned a new leaf? Time will tell!
Great video review Ben. I like your approach to evaluating products. You provide FREE sound advice. Thanks. After 2 years with the new 4dr Bespoke model in black stainless, I can add a few comments. It is by far the best of the dozen or so fridges I have ever owned. The autofill water in the hidden door is a life changer. Absolutely surprised me how useful it is. The split freezer with the deep door trays and sliding shelves is also next level cool. Issues? Minor so far. The dual icemakers are a little slower than those problematic legacy models, so you probably won’t be filling up your big drink coolers with ice from here. And the small ice bits tend to overfill at times leading to cubes spilling off the back of the small trays when you reach in for ice, or move the tray toward you. This may be a sensor flaw. The orphan cubes congregate on the tray below or near the bottom of the sloped cabinet where they are not that hard to remove occasionally. I really only have ONE HUGE complaint. My unit did not arrive with the LARGE WAD OF CASH in the crisper drawer, like yours. Where’s MY rebate SamSung?!?
We have the Samsung 4 door flex fridge and love it. It's been a little over a year and still perfect. We love so many things about it. Wish the shelving had more adjustments though. I love having the option of extra fridge space instead of the freezer, and hated those freezer drawers.
I bought this exact model in December. A few things you missed: the bottom refer drawer can on the right side can only be opened if both doors are opened, left side does not have this issue. The ice maker is loud upon the first fill of ice. This is due to the ice dropping on the empty plastic. Once the ice is dumped the water fill is loud for about 5 seconds while the trays are filled. The pitcher fills quickly, & will only do so while the doors are closed. Opening doors while filling will interrupt the fill until the door is closed. As a tall guy (6'3“) the beverage door handle is a bit inconvenient to grab. I tend to open the doors from the top pockets. As noted in another comment, the door open alarm is quick to let you know it's been opened for a prolonged time. It is also quick to send that info to the app. I got the stainless panels & they do pick up prints easily if your hands aren't clean. I may look into a matte black panel set in the future. The water dispenser will fill a 30oz bottle w/ cold water, completely. Being that I live in a rural area the service issues do concern me, I took the leap knowing that & bought the extended warranty from the retailer.
If you drop it from an airplane it will get scratched. He didn't mention that. If you install it on it's side it doesn't work. He didn't mention that. Man, this guy just didn't even try.
When ice falls on something solid it's going to emit sound... this isn't a Samsung thing, it's a physics thing. My Whirlpool at home and the Hotpoint at the office Ice makes the same sound when it falls into an empty plastic tub. 🤷🏽♂
My filter started freezing after 11 months. Then I noticed the fridge was 50° and all my ice cream was melted. Then my lettuce was frozen. I had the Samsung tech come out 5-6 times but was unable to fix it, eventually Samsung just gave me a full refund.
Hi Ben, as always very informative. I got the Samsung Bespoke from Best Buy (Lowe's also had the same price) in stainless steel with 4 doors. Two freezer drawers. Water and the ice are on the inside so I really hope that there are no issues. I like the clean look of this refrigerator and could not find another one that looked similar to this one. The inside too had good quality glass and drawers. I saw your video today and my refrigerator also was delivered today so I am glad to know that I did not make a mistake looks like you too like this model too. I was in real rush as my old LG died day before yesterday.
Ben, thank you for your review it gives me a great understanding of the fridge and some of the features I had questions about. I saw in the caption you wouldn't recommend the 4-door flex zone, and curious why not? We're considering the RF29DB970012 model. It doesn't have the family hub nonsense as that seems ridiculous and asking for more trouble than it's worth. I'd love your thoughts on the model I mentioned. Thank you for your time, help, and informative reviews.
I’d been holding back on making this purchase due to it being a Samsung, a refrigerator brand I had sworn off for good. But this Bespoke was really speaking to me and once I saw this video review I took the leap and am so glad I did! It’s a beautiful appliance. We got the four door flex and absolutely love it! Going on six months and zero issues.
Good video. I'm glad that Samsung is finally fixing it's problems but I will be sticking to your original advice: A basic GE, freezer on top, no water hookup.
Yep! Just because I am saying "Hey, they made something good" doesn't mean I'd tell everyone to buy it. French door refrigerators are still mechanically complex, so this is like... The best of the worst.
I don't want a refrigerator this luxurious honestly... I want something that is simple but works.... side x side's are my favorite with ice/water in the door...but I could live without an ice maker.. I wish they all made coil cleaning easier
If it has a "linear" compressor, you might as well throw it "straight" into the trash as soon as it arrives. In the past 10 years, I've been through 3 refrigerators with failed linear compressors. Each of them failed and were fixed about 2-3 times before throwing in the towel. The compressors tend to have a lifetime of about 1.5 years.
The super fun part is getting a text warning that the door is open. Seriously. We skipped the hub version and got the 4 door flex and the thing I like the most is the accessibility & the lights. I'm 5'5", reaching into the back of a fridge can be a challenge. We added a swing turntable to put small jars and leftovers on a lower shelf but it's a relief to reach in and access things on the top shelf without a step stool and the lights show everything, no more stuff hidden in shadows. The drawers in the freezer are game changers, we have one side for fruits, waffles & veg, one side for meats and freezer meals. We also turned off one ice maker, no one used it and it's now an ice pack storage tray. To make it easier, we put a small magnet over the handle for the beverage center to visually mark it for unfamiliar users. Frankly, the panels could be easily removed and covered with cling vinyl instead of purchasing new panels. Replacement panels are spendy. The doors & sides have the advantage of being magnet friendly (stainless panels may be an exception). Even though it's counter depth, it does have to stick out from the wall but the lack of handles keeps it from jutting out too far. Caveat on the Flex Zones: a power outage will reset your Flex Zones. If you were set up to freeze, you MUST reset to freeze when power is restored unless you like ice cream soup. Learned that the hard way after we turned off power to replace a lamp.

I have looked and researched extensively for a new fridge in my home that is being built currently. I am going with the Bespoke model but the 4 door version with the smaller doors and slide out tray. The main reason I liked that one better is because it fixes the problem you and several comments have already stated and it was obvious to me the second I tried it in the store. The lack of a handle means you have to reach under the door to open, which I like the clean look of, but with the 3 door model its *slightly* too low for my comfort requiring the ever smallest amount of bending which is annoying. The 4 door model (2 sliders) fixes this entirely as having the bottom of the main doors about 6 inches higher up puts them in the perfect location.
Good video, thanks. I have that exact fridge and after 1.5 years it's still working, although I think it might have gotten a little noisier, but still have to be standing with your ear right at it to hear it, compared to when I first plugged it in, it was completely silent.
I've had my Bespoke 4 door since August 12, 2022. I absolutely LOVE the beverage center, the middle drawer, and the 2 ice variety. I haven't had any problems (knock on wood) with my fridge. I do wish I could set the fridge temperature down a little more. We open our fridge a lot so a lower temp would be nicer. I have noticed, not opening it a lot, that the fridge cycles the cold. So I'll pull out something and it is sweaty but there's times it's not. Same with the freezer. Sometimes the ice cream is frozen solid sometimes it's softer. She is a heavy fridge which is a con. We have the bigger one and it's hard for one person to move; I can't move it by myself.
I’m hanging on to my 15 year old Kenmore Coldspot Side by Side (2009) refrigerator with nothing through the door. It’s been very reliable with little maintenance issues. I did replace the startup capacitor and relay last month and the refrigerator temperature thermostat in 2019. And I am hoping for ten more years.
I hope your compressor holds out. Mine is starting to go after 12.5 years, and from what I read, 14 years seems to be the average lifespan for these modern high-efficiency compressors.
That tempered glass should make for a nice dry or wet erase marker surface, too. That's neat! I think the compressor in my 12.5-year-old Samsung is finally dying. It's become super loud, and the freezer keeps building up ice until it won't close completely. I think the ice maker is either busted or frozen over now, too. Going to have somebody check it out, but I might be buying a new one soon. I can't believe you've got me thinking about another Samsung! I've had relatively good luck with mine -- only a couple minor issues like a broken ice maker arm that were easy to fix. However, we had a really bad time with one of their ranges of the same age. The mainboard literally blew up, and my ex spent 10 months fighting with them back-and-forth to get it repaired. We finally got it fixed, though one of the active burner LEDs blew immediately after. I swore off Samsung for their bad service, but if I can find this one at Costco, I might do it. Looks like a relatively well-designed unit, and they're all just about equally cheaply made these days!
In general, old Samsungs that are right around 10-12 years old were actually great fridges. I've fixed and re-sold hundreds. The problem was that after that era, they got really bad, really fast. Its like every choice they made was a problem. But honestly, almost everything since then has seen a massive drop in quality.
I almost bought this one, I went with the bigger, better one with the tv (and no panels) in it because of the kids. I can’t lie, I thought it would be a waste of money. Instead two years later I’m moving and am sad to be leaving it behind. That fridge is awesome and my kids use that integrated tablet every, single, day. I’m also so happy with the ice NOT in the door. Two years, plenty of ice, no leaking or mold. We have the four door unit and I love how food doesn’t get buried in the bottom of a pit. It’s like fridge shelf’s and wildly practical.
Thanks for this. In all the time I've been following and learning from you, I never thought I'd be considering a Samsung refrigerator. I'm intrigued. 🤔
Hey man, I watch a lot of your videos and I just wanted to say that you have been looking healthier in every new video. You have been inspiration to another Ben and I hope I can achieve the same results. I’m glad you chose this lifestyle early on because it is harder to get into shape for me as I’ve gotten older. Take care and keep it up!
I appreciate that! I just bought a nice bike to start riding around town... Going to try to build up to start biking to work every day if I can (not) fear the traffic lol
Got one of these two years ago and haven’t had any issues. Mine has the flex zone so the bottom right freezer could be a fridge, which comes in handy when we get a big grocery order or are prepping for something and can throw some extra freezer stuff into the deep freezer. I hope it holds up because it was definitely a pretty penny!
Not sure I trust this because every Samsung fridge I have owned has had issues. But I do appreciate your honesty in your reviews. The one issue I have with my current Samsung, beside the ice maker, is the two crisper drawers get small food particles in-between the drawer and the front cover. There doesn't seem to be a way to remove the front cover without breaking. I've tried taking them out of the fridge and using water but it still doesn't get everything out of it and the there is water drops stuck in there. Do you have a solution for this?
There are several UA-cam videos that show you how to pull these apart so you can clean them. Just find the one that resembles your model. It's really and easy once you see how it's done.
I have this model and I LOVE it My favorite fridge ever. There is only one issue, if the water jug gets humid from condensation, the sensors think its full and will not refill it. Wiping it off with a towel is a fairly regular necessity.
I like a basic refrigerator/freezer with no frills, just want RELIABILITY. Dreading the day my 2001 Whirlpool needs replacing. Does any company make a decent bare bones unit approx 22 cubic feet? And how long can you expect a new unit to last before needing costly repairs? Thanks!
We have that fridge, had it a year and it's absolutely awesome. The only issue is that the water bottle filling plate squeaks really bad when pressed, other than that we love it .
Samsung's are normally good. As a appliance tech of 18+ years. Samsung is the one i recommend for reliability in general. Yes the icemakers freeze. They made improvements to that. But they never have cooling system problems and that is what matters most. LG with bad compressors and Frigidaire rusting out and other body issues. Whirlpool with various cooling problems including some compressors. Ge and Samsung is my pick. I own a Samsung that is currently 18 years old without issue
In my old house we bought a new Samsung in 2015 and it kept freezing over if the ice didn't get used in months Our new home has a Samsung from 2019 and no ice issues
Changes were made with beginning of 2019 to address the ice maker issues. In other brands ice will freeze together if not used within weeks. Whirlpools do it but they don't think it's an issue. They call it working as designed. I have not seen sharp refrigerators. Just microwaves which they sell to other companies. I have seen Bosch refrigerators and I would stay far far away from them!
I saw your videos about all the fridge and you said that samsung sucks. You did a very thorough explanation as why, and I came back to BB today. Tech told me SS Bespoke is a newer model and has great reviews unlike the older SS refs. True enough I saw your video and it made me buy it. Hopefully it last very long. Thanks for the thorough reviews!
My favorite refrigerator was an 80's vintage, Kenmore model 87. It hung on until 2011 when the front extra little plastic door just shattered and fell off.. the guts still worked. That door had started out white and when it went, it was fully antique yellow. That fridge kept things cold for close to 3 days when hurricane Ivan went through. I do like color options.. I personally prefer visible handles on a fridge..preferably sticking out... it's somewhere to hang a kitchen towel. an app.. pfft Are there any fridges out there that have no wireless computer parts in them?
Have Bespoke side by side for two weeks. Just absolutely love the fridge. Very quiet and the ice maker with two different kinds of cubes is really neat. Temperature settings are exact. Obviously do not know about long term reliability.
Great advice Ben! I bought AGE side by side With ice and water in the door in 1984 It lasted almost 30 years! Next Samsung 32 cube two Ice makers one in the refrigerator door melted and fried electronics within 6 months I keep it clean It's still running! I am going to shut down the ice maker in the refrigerator Thanks
btw i think this is samsung's best fridge because they didn't make it! they bought a company called Dacor who first designed this 4 door model thoughts?

I had the tech guy from Samsung care came out and he couldn’t figure out the problem, he said he’s going to order some hinges hoping to sold the problem . He even adjusted the legs make sure it’s all level so he checked everything and everything just fine but my left front door won’t stay open. Anybody have this issue? TIA. I’ll keep y’all posted when he gets back with his hinges…
@@azztastic00 Have this same issue on my right side door lol. Haven't gotten in touch with Samsung yet, it's slow to close so not super annoying but def doesn't seem normal!
Wait, you said it wasn't a sponsored video, but now ask us to buy through your link 🤔
Does it come in 32"?
I've had this model for a year and a half now, works perfectly, no issues.
Long term GE owner here. Just got this Bespoke exact model delivered yesterday. I was overthinking whether we made right decision. thanks for this video helped with my peace of mind . Keep up great work
Wait till it breaks down in 2 yrs.
Ya one day doesnt' mean anything lol
Those messages on the fridge tablet are hilarious. 🤣
Please keep us updated on its service history.
GOOD ONE! I'm sure everything will go downhill in 1 year, you will need to defrost the evaporator every two weeks, pull the icemaker out, and melt all the ice frozen together, Call weekly to Samsung to have some type of service done until your warranty runs out LOL!!
@@toyotatacoma68172 year update- no issues. I'll update you often.
@@toyotatacoma6817 So ideally.. having no icemaker is better?

We just got a version of the Bespoke with the flex drawer and no Family Zone (built in tablet). It’s been awesome, and once we install the waterline, we’ll have the ice and beverage center to use. We got an excellent deal at where we got it- there was a mix up with the open box model we purchased, and we got this fridge new for under $1100. Our kitchen is small, but this is worth the space it takes up. We also live right by an authorized repair tech for Samsung (used them for our dryer) so we’re in good shape if we need repairs.
Where did it under 1100?
I've got the 4 door flex version of that fridge with the beverage center.... it's absolutely WONDERFUL and highly recommend it.
Isn't that drawer great?? It keeps beverages so cold!
Have you had any problems when you change the water filters?
@willhandy4518 the water filters are super easy to change. It's right in the front center. Little push and a 90-degree twist, and it locks in place. Thanks to where it is, it's one of the easiest I've ever had to change.
@@mattypants I read reviews that the replacement filters had a tendency to leak.
@@willhandy4518 yes! Getting it seated properly is a chore, and if you don't, it will leak.... gotta hold your mouth just right.
Thank you for making this, I’ve been needing a fridge and LOVED this but I wasn’t going to spend the money unless you made an honest review! 😂
Appreciate your input. Been considering one of those. Love the glass doors.
Worst fridge I ever bought! Even the repairman said they were junk.
for serious?
UUHhhhhh.... no. made in china. still.

My family has been trash talking Samsung refrigerators for years, so when we bought our bespoke fridge (primarily because we love the look), I was nervous. This video has helped with my concerns
I love mine. I say if you don’t like Samsung, then don’t buy it. It’s a personal choice 😊
I have a bespoke...4 door stainless and LOVE IT. owned 6 mths...perfect
How long does it take to make ice once it’s plugged in?
@@toyotatacoma6817 and this one fixes about 80-90% of those complaints as shown in the video so....
@@bensappliancesandjunk Oh, I have one of the 20% pieces of sh it! Search the web my man... The fix don't fix sh it!

The GE appliance division is now owned by the CCP. Not what it used to be.
we have 2 of these and my parents have one. No issues, love the fridge. Only thing to note is that since the fan is near the top shelf its typically 4-5 degrees colder are the top shelf compared to bottom shelf. We have frozen eggs a few times that way lol.

I wish I could buy on of the Sears fridges that were made 50 years ago. They were so dependable, some of them are still running. New fridges rarely run for 5-10 years anymore.
ya we had one purchased it with are money when we got Married 1981 lasted 40 years sad those days are over replaced one part on it my self that was it
My 42 year old Sears fridge is still humming away down in the garage (not ideal location for a fridge). Like my 42 year old Sears lawnmower, it won't die!
I still have a 40 year freezer, making more noises but still working.
I bought one for$900 clearance last fall
@@bensappliancesandjunk Many people hating on Samsung Fridges are not always hating it for the icemaker. Many are hating on Samsung's garbage compressors, which apparently tend to die prematurely... sometimes within months of a purchase. There is no way I'd invest in a Samsung fridge at this point. Same for LG's linear compressors, which boast a 10+ year lifespan, but actually die at around 4 years (or less). Who wants to replace their fridge every 4 years or sooner? A fridge is not an iPhone.
Did I break yet
Thanks for the info. My current fridge is only 40.5 yrs old and functioning well, so no thoughts of replacing it yet.
My decision was/is easy.
avoiding headaches is worth a lot
I have had the Bespoke four door flex for two years and absolutely love it! No issues and can change colors.
I'd be curious to how you feel about it over 10 years 😊
@@cinders302 my sister in law has had her Samsung fridge for about 15 years and loves it. I generally don’t keep things that long, probably 7 years max. I gave my son my GE fridge at 7 years because I wanted a change.
I have a Bespoke refrigerator and have had for 1 year. Love it! It keeps fruits and vegetables fresher longer.
I have 2 Samsung Side by Side Twin Cooling Fridges that are going on 18 years old. Neither have ever skipped a beat in keeping food fresh.
you are a lucky person. mine keeps food cool, but the regular cleaning out of the ice dam, having no ice because the interior tubes are frozen, is a common thing with their refrigs
🤣
We got 3 months ago a new bespoke 2 door side by side and it's been fantastic
I have one of these, we were in crunch since our fridge just died. Lowes had these in stock, so we got one. Overall weve had zero issues in 2yrs. We thought the compressor died as it was no longer cooling. Ends up, the coils just needed to be cleaned, and it needed to he restarted. Personally, i think the fridge is huge but the way the shelves are laid out...most of the space is wasted. It is hard to clean the coil as its in U shape, so its hard to clean the whole thing.
Im happy i saw this video as I've been in pins and needles with this fridge for the last year
As a technician in the Austin area I've been having a lot of issues with the auto fill pitcher where the moisture sensor breaks.
Can you live without the pitcher or does it leak?
How old are the fridges you are seeing this on? I love the water pitcher feature
Thank you for tearing down and looking at this Refrigerator. It was very helpful
I bought this fridge based on your video and in the first 3 months the freezer stopped working. I opened it up to find puddles and melted food everywhere. The fan stopped working and the ice maker in the freezer never was able to produce much ice. I returned it thank god.
That’s Samsung for you.
I just installed this fridge yesterday and relied a lot on this review. Thank You!
I have been eyeing the bespoke for 3 years. I am so happy it gets a good review from you! I want it in blues
It's the one with the 4 doors and beverage center BTW, with freezer drawer and 3.1 cubic ft flex drawer.
The current generation of Bespoke are great. I haven't had to repair too many of these - and of the ones I have had to do repairs on it was just the beverage center not working properly.
Makes sense, given the number of moving parts there. But I'd imagine they are quite simple to fix?
Sounds like its better to avoid the ones with beverage center. Seems gimicky to me anyway
This model is one we have been considering.
Hope this helps you out!
A friend of mine bought this unit. And they are pleased
Had ours about a year. I'm very happy with it so far.
1 year? You made it one year? Talk to us again in 6 months to a year.
@@toyotatacoma6817troll
well it's been almost 6 months has it broken or am i good to buy?
We have the Samsung 4 door flex fridge and love it. It's been a little over a year and still perfect. We love so many things about it. Wish the shelving had more adjustments though. I love having the option of extra fridge space instead of the freezer, and hated those freezer drawers.
What model number you got?
I bought the same fridge in January and so far it is awesome

What do you mean by “install it on its side.”?
@@bensappliancesandjunkHowever, I need a tablet that locks the fridge with Dr Now telling me I won't starve.
Have had a Samsung side by side food showcase counter depth fridge since 2016 and it hasn’t given us a single issue. Love it.
I don't want a refrigerator this luxurious honestly... I want something that is simple but works.... side x side's are my favorite with ice/water in the door...but I could live without an ice maker.. I wish they all made coil cleaning easier
Amazing refrigerator. Ice maker is fantastic. People are always asking which model this is and where to buy. Very happy with this purchase.
Glad you like it!
Thats what a warranty is for.
@@BayouHotBoy1 : I had a warranty. Paid $300 extra for it. They still refused to fix them properly and in a timely fashion.
@rayc1557 That's messed up!

Can't you grab it from the top of the door?
@@mason5540 you could but there are no handles up there and that is more awkward than reaching down lower.
Good video, thanks. I have that exact fridge and after 1.5 years it's still working, although I think it might have gotten a little noisier, but still have to be standing with your ear right at it to hear it, compared to when I first plugged it in, it was completely silent.
it might be the compressor not having enough breathing space. Do you have it pushed all the way back to the wall?
@@faizarahat404 no, there is 6 inches space, the manual calls for 2 inches
We purchased the 4 door version with no family hub and the cooling systems. We love it!😍
What kind of ice it makes? I'm looking for the giant ball ice version/
2 years strong. Extremely happy with this fridge. Beverage center is so clutch. Buy it!
Can confirm the dry erase thing, we use it for grocery lists and writing notes and recipes. I also love the in door pitcher.
Ben is super knowledgeable. Great content!
My current fridge is 45years old and still working as good as ever - still on middle-range settings - I suspect it will outlive me.
My current fridge is a Hotpoint that is close at 40 y/o. Stillo running strong.
I have the same style. Love it!
@@Maam-xl4gu I have not found one UA-cam video that shows how to pull the drawers apart without breaking them.
What about "Sharp"?
18 years ago Samsung didn't care as much as planned obsolescence...
In my old house we bought a new Samsung in 2015 and it kept freezing over if the ice didn't get used in months
Our new home has a Samsung from 2019 and no ice issues
Changes were made with beginning of 2019 to address the ice maker issues.
In other brands ice will freeze together if not used within weeks. Whirlpools do it but they don't think it's an issue. They call it working as designed.
I have not seen sharp refrigerators. Just microwaves which they sell to other companies. I have seen Bosch refrigerators and I would stay far far away from them!
If you were my tech and you said that i fire you
I saw your videos about all the fridge and you said that samsung sucks.

Are there any fridges out there that have no wireless computer parts in them?
Have Bespoke side by side for two weeks. Just absolutely love the fridge. Very quiet and the ice maker with two different kinds of cubes is really neat. Temperature settings are exact. Obviously do not know about long term reliability.
