I love how he gets straight to the point ! I like how he doesn't add in aimless talking to fill time! Just shows how to get it done❤

You are a very good teacher. Great job with showing using the respirator! I’m retired from doing commercial pest control and a respirator is very important to use with any exposure to chemicals or spray.
I’m thinking my Jeep is going to look pretty good with the new grey color.
Very true, the respirator is safety 101, congratulations on completing many years in the work years which is a great accomplishment. I’m sure your Jeep will stand out once you complete the project.
Great work man! You inspired me to do some work to my silverado. The emblem video was on point too. Good job Big Time!

Honest, little advice like removing plastic protection from
behind .. !! Great stuff....
Thanks I appreciate that and you for checking out the video
Another amazing video bro... I personally think this is so much better than buying black powder coated rims... they look great outa the box, but they fade bad and damage easily... you can always reapply your dip and freshen those rims right back up. Not to mention the cost difference... thanks 4 sharing
You definitely got a point there, you’re welcome and thanks for checking out the video

Dude, good tip on pulling the bag out from the inside of the wheel. I always put the car on jack stands and take the wheels off, but I had a customer with an EV and he was apprehensive about putting the car on jack stands and worried about the batteries getting punctured so I had to leave the wheels on the car and use the bags. When i pulled them out i was a little paranoid about scuffing the new dip. Didn't even think of pulling them out from the back!
Yeah I’m sure you know exactly how much of a risk it could be lol, definitely a safer way this route.
Thank you for showing us how to do this
You’re welcome and thanks for checking out the video
Another great video!

Great video!

Doing my first dip today, thanks for the tips!
You’re welcome and I hope it’s a success, thanks for checking out the video.
How did it turn out?
@@Azeminad SUPER WELL! They are still holding up fine. Can wash the car no problem, get a ton of compliments. Will do it again after I put on some A/T tires this winter, assuming the tire replacement pulls the Hydrodip off. The process took about 3-4 hours all in all, but was easy and straightforward. Slow and steady with the layers makes a difference and avoids the drip. 10/10
Thanks, great vid!
You’re welcome and thanks for checking out the video
Hey man I currently live in Ann Arbor Michigan and I am watching this vid before applying. I just read your description that you’re based out of Lakeland Florida, I lived there for 10 years prior to moving up north last year. Small world!
Wow it’s definitely a small world we live, thanks for the support and checking out the video.
Great video
Thanks
Thank you, sir!

I just did my wheels with hyperdip and matched the trim on the wheel to holographic pearl, just yesterday..you did a great job
Thanks, I’m sure that trim on the wheels gave it a whole new look

Awesome music, reminds me of "Gran Turismo"
lol yep, I’m a fan of the song
Great video. Great explanation on all the steps. For me, I always just took the rims off the vehicle. Easier to work with, better coverage in the in the lug nut holes, and easier on the body, lol.. I would also use either business cards, or a deck of cards, and insert them in the lip of the rim all the way around to avoid getting product in tires.
Thanks and yeah I use to do the same but after realizing that spraying it properly I got the same results. You already know that I had to knock out the removing wheel step.
Thanks
You’re welcome and thanks for checking out the video.
The ouwda ayje!
😆 it’s the south in me
Awesome video. Love the detail. Can you comment on how to fix a run if you get one while applying the Hyperdip?
Thanks for the compliment. With paint runs you can try lightly wet sanding with 600 grit sandpaper, once you’ve achieved a smoother level proceed with additional coats.
Great Info...Go Bearcats!
Thanks I appreciate you for checking out the video. Cin City
@@newtouchauto been watching lots of your stuff. It's all great info. Appreciate what your doing. Going to black out my F-150.
@@tomwagner7742 I really appreciate the support and glad to know that it’s helpful, you won’t regret your trucks new look.
@@newtouchauto how does the dip hold up on the plastic chrome ford rims? I would image when the tires get rotated the lug nuts will be scratched or damaged?
@@tomwagner7742 any removable paint products won’t uphold to tire changes, lugs can sometimes be saved but the outer edge of the wheels will always take a hit
So this is great, all of your videos are very helpful and confidence inspiring. How bad is the overspray on your paint after dipping the rims while they’re on the car? I’m assuming it’s best for beginners to tape off their paint a bit to be safe or does this product just come right off car paint?
Thanks and I appreciate you checking out the videos. If this was permanent paint of course you would need to mask the panels but there’s really no need with this removable product. You’re spraying directly onto the rim so the overspray will be light dust, simply take a microfiber towel and just wipe it away.
Good specific detailed video but imo Superwrap looks much better if u really want black high gloss finish
Oh yeah, there’s always that other option for a more original look.
12 coats per rim? Wowsers:)
Yeah I know, 12 coats is my spray standard whenever I’m using hyperdip products. You can get away with 8-10 coats, the more coats the more durability and peel ability.
Looks good. I would have taken the off the car to paint. Question is what happens to the rims when u have to change the tires? Some how i dont think it will hold up to the tire machine.
Not at all, the tire machine will erupt the edges of the rim unraveling the wrap. Unfortunately the wheel will have to be redone if using hyperdip, with plasti dip you can fix damaged areas without having to peel and redo.
Great video!!!can I do this in my new sienna..it has plastic hubcaps that are factory glued on?
Thanks for the compliment and yes, plastic can be spray wrapped once the panel is properly cleaned.
thanks for this video man. I just received my hyper dip today too. need to fix the curb rash and then paint it. my garage space is a little small. do you think its a good idea to do it outside? weather is in the 50-60s this week. or I can remove the wheel from the car and spray in the garage. what do you advise?
You’re welcome and thanks for checking out the video. You can do it outside with those temps but the wait time in between coats could be 15-30 minutes, be prepared to be patient through out the process. If it’s windy I advise you to just wait for a more calmer day
Dope video. I've watched the vid from DYC and I prefer your explanation over theirs. How was the over spray on the quarter panel and door? Was there any? Did you do one rim at a time or while one was drying you went to the others? Thanks
Thanks and yeah I try to be descriptive and explain it all. As for the overspray you won’t experience it unless you’re in a windy area. If you so happen to feel or see overspray on the body panel use a dry microfiber towel, it’ll wipe away easily.
Whenever you’re spraying it’s best to have a rotation with all 4 rims, once you complete one you can move onto the next. Depending on the the temperature you’ll need to wait 10-15 minutes in between coats after completing the first rim.
Great job! What about over spray onto the car? I'm worried about that.
Thanks and no need to worry about the overspray, this product is removable paint so you’ll only get light mist. Take a dry microfiber towel and simply wipe away any overspray that may appear
Great video. Quick question for you. I have a leased vehicle and it has to be returned the way I bought it. I what black rims instead of the chrome ones on the vehicle. If I use this product am I able to peel it off back to the original chrome ones that came with the vehicle when it’s time to return it. We his looks like a way less expensive than buying new black rims. Thanks.
Thanks and it’s definitely a money saver, with this removable liquid wrap you can easily peel away and return back to the original chrome finish. If you’re interested I have a few videos uploaded on removing dip.
Man that came out really nice. Is hyperdip easier to clean and maintain than regular plastidip?
Thanks and I would say that it’s more durable and easier to keep clean, it definitely doesn’t have that sticky feel like plasti dip
Great informative video. Any idea as to how bad the color messes up when you have to remove the wheel? Thanks
You’re welcome and thanks for checking out the video. You won’t experience any damages or other issues when removing the paint, everything will look the same as before.
@@newtouchauto i believe David is talking about removing lug nuts with dip covered. I would say the dip would be damaged slightly each time you remove the nuts, but not obvious until maybe 3~4 cycle of removing and putting them back on.
@@SPJ-88 that’s true and the lugs will take a hit as soon as you apply an air tool, if you hand torque them you’ll have a better chance of not damaging them.
No need to sand it down at all to prep? I have factor wheels but the coating is peeling and flaking…I want to hyper dip them but I assume I’d need to sand them down, etc. Prior to prepping and adding hyper dip?
How long will this typically last? Changing tires, etc. Won’t damage it in the future? Lastly….if there was any spot that ever ripped off or cut, are you able to ‘repair or spot’ hyper dip to get it back new? Sorry for all the questions 😁
Actually it’s up to you wether you want to sand the rims or not, if it doesn’t bother you that it won’t be a smooth finish no but if you’re wanting a more flawless finish then sand them.
One of the main benefits for this type of product is the no sanding required because at the end of the day it’s removable paint. However spraying over damaged clear coat or curb rashes the wrap will mimic everything.
Here’s a video link that’ll help you with your questions about rim damage and hyperdip.
ua-cam.com/video/5fEo8BooU8Q/v-deo.html
Great videos. I may have missed your explanation but:
1) Why do you not remove the rim from vehicle to spray?
2) How long between coats do you wait?
3) If you spray the lugs and rims on car, will you have damage and need to respray once you have to remove the rim?
Thanks and hopefully these answers will help you.
1) It’s optional so you can remove the wheels but it’s also unnecessary bc you can achieve the same look and save time and potential damage putting them back on.
2) Your temperature will play a huge role with spraying but normally 10-15 minutes in between coats.
3) Keep in mind that this is a removable product so heavy machinery will more than likely damage the paint during tire changes.
@@newtouchauto Awesome response and much appreciated.
@@swirvkat4830 you’re welcome and thanks for checking out the video
Sorry if I missed you mentioning in the video; but how do you wash the dipped wheels going forward? Do the wheel cleaners made my chemical guys and meguire work on these??
I wouldn’t suggest using the products mentioned because there’s no guarantee that paint won’t react properly. Soap, water and the DipCoat protection spray is all you should need
Do you dip the inside of the drum also? I’m curious if the silver from inside will show afterwards if you do it without taking the wheel off
I wouldn’t suggest that you spray the drum which is why I placed a plastic bag around it for that clean finish. If you choose to spray the drum you can and it’ll stick also
Do I need 12 coats using the piano black color also or just 6 coats? Thanks..Very informative
12 hyperdip coats is a standard that I prefer to follow, 8-10 coats will do. The more coats that you apply will be a benefit for longevity and durability.
6 coats are standard for plasti dip products which is different materials.
Great vid but one question if you get a puncture surely you are going to mess up those lugs and alloys ? personally I would remove the wheels and fit a new set of lugs.
Thank you and yes there will be gouges overtime along with tire change issues. Some do remove the wheels for installation but really there’s no need, understanding that it’s a wrap and not permanent is the reality. Checkout my video link below to better help you with your question.
ua-cam.com/video/5fEo8BooU8Q/v-deo.html
Very good video, but what happens to the paint when you have to change a tire or to put some air???
Thanks and when it’s applied correctly you won’t have any issues with hand, drive through or pressure washing. Any heavy machinery will more than likely damage the paint when changing out the tires.
How does it hold up against winters like the ones we get in NYC? And also with pressure washing?
When it’s applied correctly you won’t have any issues with hand, drive through or pressure washing, I actually uploaded a video about car washing if you’re interested.
As for the cold weather you won’t have any issues, if you don’t have a paint booth I suggest that don’t you try to spray rims whenever the weather is below 60 degrees.
how do you get it to be wet all over consistently for the coats without over spraying? it seems like if im too far away it doesn't get wet but if i get too close with the can it runs. i can't find the balance for those coats.
It’s all in the motion and knowing when to move without creating any paint runs. It’s a common thing if you’re a beginner but it’s also easy to overcome. You never wanna spray too close, if you’re too far away from the surface just keep spraying the panel with overlapping sweeps until it wets out. Read your paint as you spray and determine wether or not it’s wet enough and avoid paint the runs appearing.
What happens when you remove the lug nuts if the tire needs to be changed?is it going to peel and crack and possibly tear away at the rim? And how long will this stuff last on your rim for before it needs to be redone?
Keep in mind that this is a removable product so heavy machinery will more than likely damage the product. When applied correctly on wheels the dip can last 3-4 years before needing it removed or repainted.
How does this hold up in the weather? 6/12 months down the road?
How does it hold up when u have to change the tire? Do the lugs get scuffed by the wrench?
I have the perfect video uploaded to answer your questions, it involves removing your dipped rims.
When it’s applied correctly you won’t have any issues with the weather or car washing.
May be obvious to some... but does the coating maintain impact/tire replacements or is does have to be "redone" when work is done on the tire/wheel?
With removable paint products heavy machinery will more than likely damage the lugs and outer edge of the rim
What do your customers do when they have to rotate their tires?
Would I have to re-dip the parts that get messed up?
In most cases having your tires changed you’ll get the damage around the outer edge as well the wheel lugs leaving you needing to redo your wheels. When using Plasti Dip there’s a dip fix kit that’ll allow you to repair those areas and respray onto the existing dip to cover up damages. Unfortunately for Hyperdip there’s no kit so you’ll have to peel and redo the wheel. Also if you notify the tire shop of the removable paint the they can have the wheels torqued and adjust the tire machine where you won’t have damage to your lugs or wheels
What happens when they go in to take off lug nuts will it expose the chrome?? Only thing I can't do at home is balance and rotate my tires.... help?
Yes the wrap will be come damaged from tire changes, you’ll more than likely have to redo the areas or just remove the wrap around the lugs.
im thinking bout doing mines, but they got slight curb rash will that affect it as much? They my factory wheels so im not to pressedif they arent “perfect”
Not at all, this product is exactly what you’re looking for bc it’ll pretty much cover damages.
So do I let EVERY coat dry for at least 10 minutes. Even the light dust ones?
You’re temperature will determine how long you wait, by touching the rubber on the tire to test if it’s dry or not will help. If the dip on the tires rubber is dry you can proceed with the next coat. 10 minutes is the average flash time between coats 70🌡 and up
Looks good but what about the over spray dust getting on the paint of the car!
Thanks and no need to worry about the overspray, this product is removable paint so you’ll only get light mist. Take a dry microfiber towel and simply wipe away any overspray that may appear
