  • ECHO CS-501P, is a new improved 50.2cc Professional grade saw, 13,000 to 13,700 rpm @ wide open throttle, output 17% more power than the older CS-500P. Powerhead weight only 10.3 Lbs, ( specs shows it output 3.5 HP or 2.57 KW ). This saw came with a Pro-Lite Bar 0.050 with high-performance 20 LPX chain for professional woodcutter ( .325 pitch chain )( bar in this video is 16 inch). What you see is new, out of the box from the day before that's when I got it runing the first time. Hey! lets make a video. Well it's new so take it easy, sort of break it in... How I ended up with an ECHO? STIHL, Husqvarna, Makita (Dolmar), SOLO, ECHO Shindaiwa (Yamabiko), they all makes great , good and cheap, do your home work before spending. STIHL admirer ? yes, they learned chinese too. Makita (Dolmar) admirer? myself included!.. Now.. DOLMAR germany in the Makita familly also opted for made in china ( I found that out when I cancelled my order after reading made in china on the Makita Powerhead ). I searched for a good small (lightweight ) professional chainsaw I had stopped on the Dolmar 421 which was made in germany, not sold here in canada, they routted me to Makita canada no longer come from germany. So I changed store & first looked up for the STIHL MS-241C-M made where? parts from china, brazil, usa and lord knows where else...? nobody knows. In the SHOW ROOM we compared the STIHL MS-261C-M , the Husqvarna 550XP made in sweeden both were higher price tag did not totally feel right in my hands , then I walked across the SHOW ROOM and stopped by ECHOs , we discuss and compared ECHO with pro-grade brands that is untill a mechanic came out of the back room to interupt his bullshitting collegue and informed us he knew about that NEW ECHO model CS-501P he says this saw is insane but we dont carry it here, well I told him you personnaly order it, if it ain't made in china that's the one I'll buy! I did and dont regret it. Chain Saw Sharpening: I use a new FILE GUAGE JIG tool "Husqvarna" #505 69 81-10 , this tool fits my chains 0.325¨, file size 3/16" or 4.8 MM. Depth guage tool 0.025" . Weight comparison CS-501P 10.3 Lbs, Sthil MS-261C-M 11.5 Lbs, Stihl MS-241C-M 10.8Lbs, Husqvarna 550XP 10.8 Lbs.

This Echo CS-590 features a 59cc engine with a 20" bar making it the most powerful saw for the sizeSnapper I'm amazed at how fast it cuts through big logs. The saw chain that is provided should be replaced (after it's dull) by the Oregon D70 chisel cut chain from that point on.

What i like about em is they are making a name for themselves which means they are making a good product and have to to get business and stake their claim in the race. After years of proving they are great then they will slack on quality like the other big names have.

I use to think husqvarna and Stihl was the best. They are good especially the high end professional line but echo has come along way. Echo mid level saws are great for most people who don’t do cutting for a living. Even homesteaders who cut often would find this to be a good saw

This is a pro saw it better be fine for the normal homeowner lol. This or the Stihl MS261, the Redmax gz5000 and the Husqvarna and Jonsered equals are about the perfect saw all most anybody would ever need and all pro level saws. The Redmax/Husqvarna/Jonsered are all the same saw just the Redmax and Jonsered are red instead of orange well now from all I can see you can only buy homeowner grade Jonsered the commercial saws are moved to Redmax. I have a GZ360 think the model is which is just a Husqvarna 439 or rear handle version of the tophandle 435T and the GZ5000 which is a 50cc pro saw. I want the Stihl MS261 so bad though lol. I have a Jonsered 2166, Makita DCS6421, Stihl 009, 017, MS250, Echo cs330T, Husqvarna 142, 562xp, John Deere whatever model think its like 500vl its made by Echo, and an old throwaway Homelite. Might have some other saws in there too I have a thing about accumulating knives, guns, cars, and chainsaws lol. Guess its better then blowing my money on strippers and cocaine lol. I just missed out on a few saws I really wanted a Stihl 046, MS440, Husqvarna 372xp, 365xt, didn't need them but when I find a good deal on a nice used saw especially a pro saw I buy. I have bought a few new lately too because I got such good deals like $525 for that Jonsered 2166 found a used one somebody had for $450 why buy that when I can get new for a little extra bought my nice light Redmax new for $265 the same Husqvarna is like $399. The damn screw to adjust the oiler was broke in the box new though and the dealer gave me a hard time wouldn't help me with the warranty so I just bought a new oiler and fixed it.

Best saw in the 40-50cc class there is IMO. I wouldn't trade mine for any other brand out there. I should buy another one. On a cheap saw you can take the motor out of the saw, On a High quality saw the motor is the saw ( you cant take it out ) Magnesium crank case. Best I know they sell 3 grades , cheap crap , intermediate for farm use, Professionnal grade for commercial use. There are Pro Husky but very cheap Husky like those sold in hardware store be careful, If you want a Pro Stihl you should ask a Stihl dealer back when i shopped the smallest Pro saw was the MS-241 but lord knows where are they built ? It works with how it best feels in your hands and your wallet. and read the video description. Pro Echos have Black muffler. A good saw has 2 bar nuts, i could go on and on describing difference.

@@kjam87gxp Hey I'm in canada, I have not looked at price on saw for quite a while now, but from what I remember the Pro Echo beat the other two competitor in price the echo is no less good compared to the other two, cylinder and piston are the best in all three brand the only difference is the Husky is a single piston ring while the ECHO and the Stihl have 2 piston rings, so you decide what you prefer, Stilh cost the most, Echo cost less and give an outstanding waranty. I think for 500 you might be able to find a new CS-501 P like mine, but I dont know where you live. When I bought mine , it was the first in my region and they did'nt carry the model so I paid more just to get it, but couple years after I went back in the store the price had lowered. Hello, it is the first time I hear about this 620pw my first impression it is a great saw certainly worth to consider, Do you need a 27 inches Bar ? Personnally I dont require anything more than 16 inch Bar and I want my saw to be as light as possible, I like my saw, it's just right for me, I'd love to try one fitted with a 16 inch bar and feel the difference but really my sore back is the boss.

On the other hand i own a Shindaiwa 501 sx which is the same saw and i have to say it is excellent saw very powerfull light with nice ergonimical shape and hopefully reliable as all Echo,Shindaiwa products. Good buy! I have to say never the less that the best saw i ever work whith, was the ECHO CS 4400 ..fantastick saw the most smooth and powerfull engine that i have ever experince and the hole saw was in terms of design and specs better than most of the modern saws for sure equal whith my new saw but the engine was smoother if i found one new somewere stock i buy it!

Too Much ! here in canada I paid $629. + both taxes along with that I took a small 2 cycle engine oil mix, total $730. I know now, there is an alternative for that same little profesionnal grade saw, for less $ the Shindaiwa 491S it's the same but without decompression valve and no transparent tank. Both ECHO ( bright orange ) and the Shindaiwa ( red ) both belong to Yamabiko corp. Japan built in japan. My brother owns a Shindaiwa 488 he had it for so many years and he said to me it is the best saw ever , all his life he worked in the forest industry so I thrust him. I dont regret it a single bit.

I think your wrong. I believe the 491S is the Echo cs-490..Not the 501. The saw you bought is better. Notably, better HP And power to weight than the 490. You not only have about 1/2 HP + better power. you also have a better bar and chain. Not bad really.

I'll probably cheep out and get the 490. Then i'll regret it. carb and muffler mods to get close to a 501s power. and then i'll have no warranty. That 5 yr warranty is really nice. Even after all that I'll need a better chain to keep up with the 501. Echo nailed it with the 501.

Ask anybody who used a stihl and dealer said get bent on warranty!!! They have some good saws ms 250 you know I believe yes I know that side cover is plastic. But its a great little saw. Any rotating mass can give you problems!!!!!!! I got Fd by stihl twice. Thats when I said never again. Metalcover magnesium or other wise can all break.
