  • In 2020 Echo will be adding a new model of chainsaw to their line up. The new model is the CS-3510 and it will replace the CS-352. The new CS-3510 is a light wieght saw with several upgrades over the CS-352. The best way to describe the CS-3510 is that it is a lighter and slightly smaller version of the popular ECHO CS-4510. The CS-3510 has a translucent bar oil tank and fuel tank to make it easy to see how much is in each tank. It features the i30 starting system to reduce starting effort by 30%. The CS-3510 uses the air injection method of pre cleaning intake air by removing large pieces of dirt and debris before it can get to the air filter compartment. The toggle style on/off switch has been replaced with a momentary stop switch that springs back to the "RUN" position once the saw shuts down. This prevents trying to start the engine with the ignition system off and causing the engine to flood. The CS-3510 weighs in at about 2/3 of a pound lighter than the CS-352, and it is much easier to maneuver thanks to its slimmer design and more balanced feel. The CS-3510 chainsaws are currently available to Echo dealers and have began shipping out from distributors. Stop in at your local dealer and be sure to check one out!

I've run the older version of this for the last 5 years - given it an absolute dogs life & it never coughs. I want one of these.

Hey what 1/4” sprocket part number did you use? I can’t find one anywhere for this. I have my dime bar ready to go, but no sprocket.

I'm a bigger is better guy so I recently bought the cs 7310 for somewhat over list price due to very limited availability. ($950 with a 32" bar). Although lighter than competitive brands it still is hard to lug around and use (my opinion, I'm 72 years old and everything seems to be getting heavier!) I only use it when I need the big size. I have six Echos now from the 2511p and t, 3510, 400 and 490 and the beast (7310) and I favor the lightest saw that will do the job. Both styles of the 2511, top and rear handle are simply a pleasure to use, almost like a kids toy that really cuts. Both are just over five pounds.

I returned that POS battery operated chainsaw and bought me a Echo 3510, used it to cut up a log for fire wood yesterday.

Got one at Home dep. When my cuz couldn't get the $600 ST**L 20" started, I brought out my ECHO 3510. Used all day. Cut- up rounds 22" diameter, just needed to roll-em. What a save-the-day chainsaw this was for work. So glad I bought. So far 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

does anyone else think that oil pump tube under the saw looks vunerable to catching on small branches and thorns

    • @exxr

Not a pro saw, same with CS4510 but Echo does have a pro saw coming using the new design, it's going to be 42.9cc. I should add that even non official pro saws from Echo are more reliable than homeowner models of other big brands though.

Hello, I cut about two cords of firewood per year and am considering purchasing this saw. I hope you could help answer two questions for me please. What is a spur sprocket versus a rim sprocket? Also, my current very old craftsman 16 inch chainsaw weighs 14 pounds and this Echo weighs eight which as I get older would be of great help. The Craftsman is 36cc and this Echo Is 34cc. Is that really much of a difference to even consider. Thank you for your time.

If I were you, based on your comment I'd consider buying the 490. It's by far a better saw for your purpose. It has pro features in a consumer chainsaw the 3510 doesn't. Magnesium case instead of plastic, rim sprocket instead of spur (spur is considered inferior to rim, not that spur is bad though), weighs 10.6lbs dry, more power/torque, metal spikes instead of plastic, etc. You'd be stepping down in weight but going up in power from your Craftsman. The 3510 is not a firewood saw imo.

This is a follow-up to my original comment. Echo lists the 3510 as a light duty firewood saw, so I stand by my recommendation for the 490. The 3510 is more for brush and storm clean up and limbing according to Echo. It's a homeowner saw designed for light occasional use.

The spur is like a gear made right on the hub. Rim is best and oregon may make one soon to swap over. You can almost buy a cs490 echo pro saw magnesium crankcase, rim sprocket. Heres an important tip if you buy an echo 490 put a little gas right in carb with air filter off. Then saw will fire right up and has .325 chain.
