i like the tactical anglers clip 75 or 125 pounds. Its easy to operate even in the dark for quick lure changes. Trying to tie knots in the surf is an easy way to loose your tackle.

I use a loop knot for my plastics & jigs, but for all my hard baits, including top water, I use a speed clip and it allows the movement that is needed. I've often wandered if the loop knot would be even better with the clips.

Problem with the loop knot when fishing topwater is I find the front hook catches the mainline, often ruining an entire cast and thus spooking fish. A snug knot keeps the line higher and I have no problem walking the plug. Something to keep in mind.
I find using a loop knot for swim baits or topwater offers no or extremely little difference in the lures action. Ive tested this in the pool and fishing. You're experience may vary, but its a no go for me.
IMO it’s good for when using heavy mono. Light leader I don’t notice a big difference either
I thought it was bad to use mono or flour for top water since both lines sink
Add a split ring to your lure then tie with an improved clinch... Ta Daaaa! Problem fixed...
