The way I've always done this knot is (as taught to me personally by Hank Parker himself at a fishing show 30 years ago) ... you tie your over-hand loop, send the line through the eye of the bait, THEN bring that through the overhand loop you made, THEN do 3-5 wraps (pending size of line). Finally, bring that tag back through your over-hand loop and snug it up. Very similar. The only difference is in my way, you go through the overhand loop before doing your wraps. There is another one I like that is like a Palomar Knot where you go through the eye twice at the start, but kind of follow the same procedure for this loop knot.
Jacob- I'm not sure if you did it or not (the video was jumping around) but when you come through the eye of the lure, you need to come back through that over-hand loop that you formed- then do your 3-5 (depending on your line weight) wraps around your main line- and then come back into the same loop to cinch it. Last of all- don't just pull with your main line with the line loop against the eye of the lure. Hold the tag end with your teeth or pliers and pull the main line to cinch the knot so you don't create any kinks or impressions on loop. I've caught plenty of big fish and it has never broken off!
Thank you JW for taking the time to show your followers how the Pros do it and letting us guide you to what format, background, ect. works for us and is the easiest to see what your doing. You don't even have to use the actual bait to show how to tie the knot. You could use an anchor buoy with 1/4" para cord for all I care. I'm not really interested in the bait as much as seeing the knot process. BTW since I started following you more than 3 yrs. ago you are my all time Favorite Pro out there.
This also a good knot for texas rigged flukes. It also shines when fishing around vegetation since the tag end is pointed back towards the bait and it doesn’t snag the vegetation
Thank you Jacob do you ever use a snap? Also if you do would you take off the split ring or fasten snap to split ring.would appreciate your thoughts on this thank you
Use yellow or orange heavy fluorocarbon or mono line for illustration purposes it's much easier for us to see exactly what's going on. Also take that Factory Snap Ring off your popper!! I haven't trusted snap rings on my baits ever since I lost a HUGE BASS on Lake Fork that pulled so dang hard that it straightened out the factory treble hooks and snap rings on my rattle trap. I was also spooled up with 30lb. Big Game at that time. Food for thought to any anglers is Big Bass Country.
As crazy as it sounds, I actually have a different way of tying a loop knot that my grandpa showed me, I've never seen anyone else use it, and I use it for a lot of applications. It's much faster and easier than the above loop knot also, which saves time in tournaments if you have to re-tie..
Bro what's the name of that popper. I wana snag one congrats on all you sucsess even though I could out fish you hahahahahahahahah jkjkjkjkjkjkjkjk Maybe

He jack your the best I have a question how did you get in to the major fishing?
The bass pro tour anglers were hand picked by the owners of MLF
If you do good enough in Tackle Warehouse MLF Big 5 you get invites to MLF
@@emigdiofranquez2906 yeah and the Toyota series
Great informational video JWheels 💯 #HometownGuy
Good knot
Just a suggestion!!!!!!
Tie that knot without the black pad in the background, I can see the line way better against the brown desk in background
Nice job in the Tuesday tournament tonight
I miss 13 fishing baits .... i still have some jabber jaws im scared to use now that they dont make them 😢
Loop knot 💥
Nothing worse than braid on your split rings!
Thanks for the videos...now on to Chick. Good luck next week
Hey Jacob!
That is a Rapalla not. ! On the package. !
Big fan, go on Chick this weekend!! Camera swapping technique pretty distracting and not helpful for future reference.
Hey
Please tie with mono and keep same camera angle so we can see what is going on. Thanks for trying.
