I never had a pc, so putting this on my quest 3 was amazing. framerated have been buttery smooth and games look super crisp. It really great if you adjust it right
Yet it's almost worthless for anything below a Quest 3 as sometimes it makes things actually worse rather than better. I mean, whose "brilliant" idea was it to create an "OFFICIAL" (official, my ass...) HD profile for Richie's Plank Experience by setting the Hz to 72 and the resolution to 180% when you can barely hold a relatively stable 72Hz at a resolution of 150% at most on a Quest 2...? And this is just one example. I'm not even going to mention the moronic profiles for Angry Birds and Mission: ISS (among many others) which also have their resolutions set between 170% and 210% with which the games obviously can't even maintain 68Hz, the lowest framerate accessible to tweak... And why, of all games, would you limit Pistol Whip's so-called "official" HD profile (again, one of many) to just 100% resolution and 72Hz when I personally benchmarked 5 in-game levels with 80Hz and 120% resolution and had no issues whatsoever? It's only at 125% that the game slowly starts losing frames (yes, I benchmark using increments of 5 and 10)... So I don't know who's making these profiles but either I'm crazy or the majority who downloaded this on anything lower than a Quest 3 and are praising it don't even know what framerates/benchmarking/annoying flickering/texture resolution/ffr/etc. are... I mean the CPU and GPU levels are 90% the same for almost all profiles, the FFR is all over the place and mostly just set completely wrong for a specific game and I could go on... It's just basically a slightly improved yet glorified and paid version of "SideQuest" where the so-called profiles are nothing more than simple 10-minute benchmarks at best that were, are and will continue to be thrown in there to somehow try and explain the price tag. The ONLY thing that it's actually good at is letting you choose and tweak your own settings but then why did people who own anything below a Quest 3 pay for the product which supposedly has "verified and stable profiles even for owners of Quest 1/2"? So that they can spend hours upon hours benchmarking their games instead of playing and enjoying them as soon as possible? Does that not defeat the point of the application and both contradict its price and the fact that it's paid to begin with?
Just watched the vid, read the sceptical comments, but bought it regardless. This is totally Worth the money, no doubt. The home environment looks like 10x better. You, or the developer, should do a side-by-side comparison with perhaps a half dozen of the most popular Quest games, maybe with a power consumption comparison too. It's relatively easy content to create, would quell worries about overheating and power consumption, and would make a really good selling point.

How does it optimize the quest? I dunno man, I have a feeling that it just runs the apps with bigger resolution what is already freely available. Since apps can't be altered or injected because it has an anti cheat system.
Meta have it implemented, it's the only reason QuestGamesOptimizer works, they use ADB commands to change hidden options made by Meta. You need Developer Mode just to be able to send those commands and everything you can do with QGO can be done with SideQuest. The only interesting thing about QuestGamesOptimizer is the profiles they offer.
@@draklane it is explained in the video. If they let developers to use higher cpu and gpu levels, battery would be drained to fast without battery strap, and keeping compatibility with Quest 2 would be harder than it’s now.
@@Thomas_Voland as i see you don't have KKCOBVR strap in your reviews, give it a shot as for me it's best from both "halo" type and this "classic" type (forgot how it is called). also has two wheels on sides to adjust goggles distance from face "in real time" and you can move goggles up while halo-thing stays in place. also has largest(?) of all batteries 10Ah no cooling fan, but not a problem for me because i cut my hair bald and wear bandana when in VR. it gets alittle moist but evaporates water very effectively, so it is dries by itself almost completely because of difference in body temperature and air temperature. when i figured that out, it became my go-to lifehack lol =)
It's not. Only when new version OS from Meta was release, there was a problem (explained in notification in the app). In other cases it should be fine. On which game you had frame drops? Did you check in stats what was the reason?
I was using QGO with Q2 and now with Q3. On Q3, there's almost no difference. It's very, very hard to see any difference. But you can feel the battery life and frames.
Have you tested on games that have slightly increased resolution or heavily? Since the difference is image quality is large on Quest 3, the only thing that comes to mind is a sight issue. In Q2, due to the poorer screen quality, even with poor eyesight, differences in resolution can be noticed, whereas in Q3 better vision is needed.
I can definitely see the difference on Quest 3. Especially on games that are a year or more older which could have been made to support Quest 1. All Quest HMD's and games are very conservatively optimised and the QGO allows you to explore the limits.
Does it work with PCVR games you play through Virtual Desktop? I play with a two-year old laptop and graphics (Automobilista 2, Project Cars 2 or Microsoft Flight Simulator) are not that good. Would this help improve quality of those games on my Quest 3?
No. For Project Cars 2 Open Composite make big difference, however it will works good only on high end PC, the same with other two titles. AMS2 is the best optimized for VR but still needs good PC to enjoy good graphics.
No. If the difference in performance is small, it’s very easy to keep backward compatibility because lowering resolution and some effects is often enough (and we can see in so many games on Quest). If the difference is big, this is not enough and lower LOD models have to be prepared, with different settings for almost everything. Now, when Meta unlocked another level of SoC clocks, we will have fewer and fewer games compatible with Quest 2 (some of them have already been announced).
couldn't care less about Quest games, i use Quest3 for PCVR, which looks about 100x times better than any quest3 game, even with any kind of "optimizer". with additional battery pack (which like you say, is pretty much needed) using this optimizer is more like a cost of 100+ euro btw.
How did you calculated this price?🤯 Anker wants $20 for 36Wh/10 000 mAh power bank and ofc. there are cheaper options from different brands. BTW. Many games doesn't have PCVR version.
the more successful games do have a PCVR version, but sure. Yes or free, put it into the power outlet via usb.. that wasn't my point, the idea is kind of lost, you no longer have a wireless device, your own words in the video was also you pointed to one of those built in battery packs. it's likely what you'd want to use. they can be pretty expensive.
No, you can play at a higher frame rate than the default. I noticed that you didn't see the chapter about profiles. I hope it's obvious that Quest doesn't have enough performance to run better graphics and record at the same time in higher resolution than normal.
i got quest 3 last week first impressions are bad meta puts all its garbage in your face horizon world looks like crap so does vrchat im like wheres the anti aliasing jagged lines everywhere but then i played iron man and i feel like iron man i can fly yeeeeeeehhhhh haaaa oh and vrporn oh baby zuckerbergs made himself a portable pleasure machine
@@Thomas_Voland You probably did not NOTICE overheating because Q3 does not pop up a message - it just shows a yellow LED blinking on the OUTSIDE, so you'll never see it while playing or watching movies. It just needs 30-40 mins. of watching a 2K video or playing a graphics intensive game to give a heat warning on the Quest 3.
@@MikevomMars Of course when it overheats it shows popup and make very loud sound with warning about overheating and turning off. I had this experimenting with Camlink, but never managed to warm up Quest even close to this point with Quest optimizer, even when everything is maxed out.
@@MikevomMars About graphics intensive game - I always play on the highest available profile, never experienced overheating (and I often play in 30°C room temperature). And yellow blinking LED has different meaning, so I am not sure why are you thinking, that's overheating 🤔
On recording yes. You can choose any frame rate you want to and adjust settings to make it always stable. However profiles in the QGO are doing this already.
I'm convinced this guy doesn't know exactly what crap looks like. The quest 3 is a amazing experience, I understand someone saying it could be better. But to say it looks like crap is pretty damn delusional.
QGO provides a new app launcher within your Quest home. From there, you can simply launch your games with tried and tested profiles, for example, to boost visuals or to save power, or you can edit the profiles yourself and experiment. There is an in game performance overlay which you can toggle on or off to see which parameters are working or not. I primarily bought QGO to switch off Fixed Foveated Rendering (which really bugs me) but there is still plenty of headroom to boost graphics on top of that, especially on games designed to run on Quest 1 and Quest 2. Some games are very conservatively optimised, so you can really boost them.

Thanks for the info, Ive been using Optimizer for a while. In v10 it doesn't open the browser in Quest 3 and does it make a difference when watching 180 3D videos?
It doesn't work for videos.
Nice, I think I will try. Have You any plan to sold it cheaper price at Black Friday?
I don't sell it at all. I am not its developer.
So I assume this is only useful for standalone Quest games. Does it improve PC VR games?
@@truhunk1 it’s not for PCVR
they realy need it to get it to work on a secondary account too,i play with my wife sometimes on her quest 3 it would be nice we had the same quality ingame..But its not possible now..
@@metalceesie219 it is possible but not automatically so I agree, it would be great to make it works normal on all profiles
Great video. What is the USB camera app? I can't seem to find it anywhere but got curious as you seem to be a heavy user.
It's to watch legally any VOD in good quality, play on consoles, connect any HDMI device. I have already videos about all of that:

Any educated idea when quest 4 coming out?
2026
We will probably see a quest three pro first I'd imagine that will just be a quest three with an extra processor jammed in there or something though.I imagine the quest 4 will contain the next jump in tech which will probably be the headset using laptop/mobile GPUs and CPUs instead of ones being used in mobile phones and they'll probably be built into a headstrap or for glasses you'll buy a cheapish pair of vr glasses and have to airlink to a box containing all the tech processor GPU ram etc like a mini battery bank pc but without a monitor the monitor would be the glasses people could have one in the house and have multiple accounts running simultaneously aswell so different people can do different things at once say four pairs of glasses for each device or something
How does it optimize the quest? I dunno man, I have a feeling that it just runs the apps with bigger resolution what is already freely available. Since apps can't be altered or injected because it has an anti cheat system.
If my video didn’t answer your question, I don’t know how any comment could do it. And if you didn’t watch the video, why ask such question 🤔
does the new quest update provide such quality?
No
Hey, great video!
I have just one question does it make any difference for Apps like Virtual Desktop for PC games?
No it doesn't
How do i get it on the quest
Links to tutorials are in video description (and on Quest Games Optimizer website too).
This only counts with native Quest3 games/apps? Or does it work with PC R games via a link cable?
Native only
will this improve passthrough video quality?

What facial interface has you been using in this video?
Globular Cluster, PU Leather halo version. There will be a review on my channel soon (and tests of many other interfaces too).
it's annoying how Meta doesn't have this implemented already from before of ...
What will really be annoying is seeing Meta blocking it most likely with the upcoming update already
How is it that QGO is able to do this and not natively? Is it because of Meta's optimizations?
@@draklane it is explained in the video. If they let developers to use higher cpu and gpu levels, battery would be drained to fast without battery strap, and keeping compatibility with Quest 2 would be harder than it’s now.
for what purposes you use USB camera i wonder =))

as for me it's best from both "halo" type and this "classic" type (forgot how it is called). also has two wheels on sides to adjust goggles distance from face "in real time" and you can move goggles up while halo-thing stays in place. also has largest(?) of all batteries 10Ah
no cooling fan, but not a problem for me because i cut my hair bald and wear bandana when in VR. it gets alittle moist but evaporates water very effectively, so it is dries by itself almost completely because of difference in body temperature and air temperature. when i figured that out, it became my go-to lifehack lol =)

I am not using any facial interface on this video.
will this still help if im using my quest pro with pc?

I hate the framerate with this app enabled. It's always choppy..
Do you need a pc to use this?

👏
I wonder why “adb shell setprop debug.oculus.screenCaptureEye 2” is missing in the camera settings. 😩
Is there an option for overclocking standalone games? Is there a way to pick up some extra frames?
No
I don't have this problem, I play PC games on my Quest 3 almost exclusively.
AMS2 is the best optimized for VR but still needs good PC to enjoy good graphics.
flickering is gone, as well as decent FPS.
@@zloidooraque0 no, fps can be as you want it to be (however Quest is not powerful enough to record it at the same time).
@@Thomas_Voland understood
This doesn't do anything for PCVR games does it?
Why cant Meta, a GIANT COPRORATION, do at least as good as some guy in his garage?
@@Despiser25 i explained in the video why. This is just for standalone
@@Thomas_Voland Id hoped to avoid watching something about standalone before I wasted my time. Thanks for the clarification.
1:50 utterly FALSE statement.
higher clocks will NOT affect backward compatibility AT ALL.
Yes or free, put it into the power outlet via usb.. that wasn't my point, the idea is kind of lost, you no longer have a wireless device, your own words in the video was also you pointed to one of those built in battery packs. it's likely what you'd want to use. they can be pretty expensive.
....but if you don't have a PC capable of running VR, QGO is about 100x cheaper.
mmm i love paying for the thing already have to make use it's full potential this should be free
The Shmearing
But its like 10 fps 😂. No thanks.
Quest 3 has a POOR battery lifetime and heat problems by default - improving graphics may look nice but makes it even worse 😐
Yes, I wonder if it can harm the system or shorten its life.
I never had problems with heat. In what situations your Quest is overheating? Maybe you are using silicone/plastic cover?
Frame rate looks terrible
On recording yes. You can choose any frame rate you want to and adjust settings to make it always stable. However profiles in the QGO are doing this already.
I'm convinced this guy doesn't know exactly what crap looks like. The quest 3 is a amazing experience, I understand someone saying it could be better. But to say it looks like crap is pretty damn delusional.
Better graphics, but half the frames and half the battery life
@@laurenjurassic what? Did you watch the video?
In the video Thomas shows you he is using the extended battery pack so there's very little noticeable change to battery life with his set up
It's called optimizer on purpose, it optimizes stuff without comprising stuff
Errr, no. You can control everything to your liking.
Definitely not half the frames 😂
This is the worst sales pitch I’ve ever heard in my life
@@KevinTheStallion637 ??? How do you know if you haven't tried it?
SUPER TOOL I LOVE IT !!!!!
I don’t understand. is it a software for optimizer?
QGO provides a new app launcher within your Quest home. From there, you can simply launch your games with tried and tested profiles, for example, to boost visuals or to save power, or you can edit the profiles yourself and experiment. There is an in game performance overlay which you can toggle on or off to see which parameters are working or not.
I primarily bought QGO to switch off Fixed Foveated Rendering (which really bugs me) but there is still plenty of headroom to boost graphics on top of that, especially on games designed to run on Quest 1 and Quest 2. Some games are very conservatively optimised, so you can really boost them.
Lol this guy is just trying to make $$$. Don’t waste your money
What do you mean?
