Great video, how did you set it up though, did I miss that part in the video? Also, can you turn off the actual monitor(s) or do they have to be on as well?
Thanks for your video! I'd love for you to make a video on how to make it work on a Mac. Can't find any info about those extra steps anywhere. Yours might be the first one.
How work this on the go with a laptop, this is connected via wifi 5 band or hotspot? I want to use my quest 3 with my laptop far from My modem in the second floor of my house but with wifi 2.5 is laggy, hope this new feature solve my problem, regards from Ixtapa México
Great question. You download the windows app to your quest headset and Mixed Reality Link app to your PC from the Microsoft App Store. In the future this will work seamless with the quest without any setup but for now we still need to do a bit of pre work. Here is a link if you have more questions on the setup www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/in-vr-experiences/oculus-features/mixed-reality-meta-quest/?srsltid=AfmBOoqeaXWtWvNEpvFUeSdAu6SEcneP4t2eQ39QDyBug6m6ZXYwI3TK
Thank you so much for putting this video walkthrough together! I have been hunting for this information online because I am so interested to try this. Biggest thing I'm curious about if you could test is if a dummy hdmi/display port plugged into the PC could make it so I don't need a physical monitor to use and could just have the Meta Quest 3? (I ask because it seems the link action to start is based actually on the Keyboard not a monitor)
I have done this with Moonlight/Sunshine and it worked perfectly. But save yourself the money and don't buy a dongle. Google software based dummy display. Much better.
Why didn't you tried video and games ? That was the only thing I wanted to know in this test, I really wish you had clicked on a video or launch a game
But... whataya do with it? I can't imagine using it for any work functions. Sitting there for hours at a time doing work with that big headset is a non-starter.
With all due respect I think this is kind of an experiment from Meta and as always using us like guinea pigs. I work on renderigs cad and so on and it is WAYYYY more confortable to make a setup with REAL monitors and maybe a 32 inch tv above the main one. Monitors are not so expensive and allow you total freedom and allows to be in contact with your family, friends, co-workers and BEING in the real world. VR is kind of alienating and that I do not like. IMHO this is just a novelty. I found no future for it unless they REALLY upgrade the resolution and the confort of the Quest and I would use it just for selected activities.
This is not really an update. This is no different than virtual desktop or even remote desktop because I was using this last year before they disabled it and re-introduced it for windows 😅
@ maybe because I was on the public testing channel, but I’ve already had those features of being able to add multiple monitors but maybe it still had a bit of latency as it does now and I was using a Mac like I am now but it was nothing terrible because I worked for a whole tech and marketing agency from remotely and this is what made by the quest 3 because during the time when I discovered this I was bedbound and I didn’t feel like going over to my office in the next room to stand up at my desk at three monitors.
Great video Austyn!
I've been loving it. Work Productivity on a virtual space is so engaging
Great vid man thanks!!!

i dont have the "add display" option, only the "forward computer audio" option
appeared after a rebot from both the quest and the pc
Is sound working for you? Im not getting audio on my headset. Wanted to know if anyone experienced the same issue.
Do i only need to download a Windows app, or a Windows app and one for the quest?

how do you set this up / use this?
Did you have to do anything to enable this or set it up? Did you have to install anything on the computer?
Amigo la calidad de tu video es genial, deberías hacer más
good luck!
how to get more than one monitor?
Is the windows 11 integration via a PC connection as I still have not got the new update
So is this a solution for virtual desktop?
Looks a bit pixelated. Do your eyes feel fatigue after long period of using?
Why didn't you tried video and games ? That was the only thing I wanted to know in this test, I really wish you had clicked on a video or launch a game
It's 1080p@90Hz (locked) and depending on your wifi connection its fine. I used it to play FFXIV and God of War the other day
I would love to play Star Citizen through this, would be nice to chill in bed and do salvage work 😎
HDMI link
Because we all know we can play the games on that I mean this is no different than the HDMI set up or using virtual desktop
But... whataya do with it?

I know apple will never approve it, but I would love to get this for my MAC as well
You could dual boot and put windows on your Mac but I guess that defeats the purpose if you’re trying to do anything specific to the Mac OS
If it had >=50 PPD, I would be happy. Ok, maybe even 35-40 is enough, idk
15 subs....wth
Great
Now bring it to quest pro ffs
you have video quality of a million sub tuber lol but you have like 5 what the heck

It is different. There is no latency in audio and the stream. I was skeptical too but it was much improved and supports 2 more monitors

Not sure if I would rather have cancer or Windows 11. Why would they butcher Windows like that?
"It's been out for a while..." LOL! It's only been out for a year FFS.
