Be careful though. Some people who are glutamate sensitive may have problems with glycine. Glycine helps my mother sleep but my very glutamate sensitive autistic daughter gets agitated by it. I didn't notice it when she was taking a tri-mag formula with 33mg magnesium glycinate but when I gave her 2 grams of glycine oh my goodness!

I am unsure, but I think that eating most chicken cuts and drinking chicken broth are high in glycine, but I also thought that just the chicken breast was quite low in glycine. And then when we just do chicken breast, like some bodybuilders do, we should take supplemental glycine at the same time. Is that true?

Id say you’re right for most adults under 35, but if you’ve seen someone whose adrenals and endocrine system is so shot diet and excercise stress the body out more, and these people hold weight like crazy, supplementation can help. A lot of these people can’t get to sleep, their insulin resistance is high, and some can get put on extreme calorie restriction and still hold weight. Letting the body relax and tap into the parasympathetic system helps the body drop the weight. Not sure about glycine but Emodin Cortisol blockers are helpful.
