- 6" Milwaukee M18 FUEL Grinder 2980-20
Accepts 4-1/2 to 6 blades
Tool less Blade guard adjustable, finally, no more hex keys needed, however you will still need a blade key, which is included.
*****Do Not Use metal blades on Metal when they are warn out, the blades will break and cause severe injuries!!!
***you can buy a new blade, not a new finger or eye ball!!!
You have the right tool but the wrong blade. As Ironworkers, we cut bolts on a regular basis, even grade 8 bolts much larger than that screw. We use he same tool and it is fantastic. With a .045 thickness abrasive 6" disc for Stainless Steel (that is important) we get upwards of 20 bolt heads, or nuts, with a 5.0 AH battery. A thin disc like these with only light pressure cuts real fast, the tool will not overheat and the disc is not consumed rapidly. A thin cut is what you want, but choose your cutting discs wisely. Not from a hardware store. Each welding truck and our fabricating shop have several of these tools and they last or years even with heavy use and the 5.0 AH battery keep the tool weight manageable when using while on ladders. These tools have filter screens, keep them clean and blow the tool out with compressed air for long life. Because we have so many tools on the Milwaukee M18 Fuel platform, lots of batteries and 4 port multi-chargers we use the tool you have. However, if someone is already using the DeWalt platform, the DCG414 Angle Grinder 4 1/2" - 6" Flex Volt 20 volt/60 volt with a 6 AH battery is a good choice for slicing steel like this. I have one on my truck and use it occasionally but we do not have many of those batteries available to us. It performs just as well though. A little bigger and heavier, a bit more expensive (especially those batteries) but a good choice for DeWalt fans. In the trade, we call these tools "Slicers" and every welder or ironworker has at least one of these tools and a box of these cutting discs on his truck. They absolutely eliminate dragging out cutting torches anymore to slice steel. Quick, fast and in a hurry. Eyes are always on us and we get paid for how much we do on a job. These tools are money makers for us.
Agreed, don’t like the metal blades
@@tradesmenlife like it or not, they are the disks you need
Poor machine. That is not a metal cutting disc. LOL
Yee yee ! Yes it is, just worn out!
It is but it's on backwards
Boy ,,you got the right love at the wrong time😂 beautiful machine on a wrong hand😂
Do you speky English?
For anyone watching, with a proper edge, and better angle of attack on something like this, you won’t chew through a battery that quick. I was doing a bigger job of cutting off old welds and only got half way through a second older dewalt 4.0 battery with an older dewalt model at work. I was interested in viewing a demonstration since I ordered this model with a 6.0, I understand making a video and having everything being proper set up is difficult especially if you’re a full time worker, that’s no knock on you I appreciate the demonstration.
More videos to come
Like a real mechanic, he should’ve just put a cross in the head of that screw and use the IMPACt and pull it out in a minute
That is a NOT a metal cutting blade
It was a cutting blade for Metal, it was very dull , I changed the blade for a new one and cut much better, yes it looks like a tile cutting blade, but it is specifically for metal cutting.
That was painful to watch. Right tool for the right job my friend.
Stop hurting yourself, and stop watching lol my friend
Should use a cutting disc.
Yeah it was a dull diamond metal cutting blade I threw out I have to make a better video it’s a learning process
I have the same grinder and a different blade I would of cut the 2 bolts in just 1/3 of the time you did
That’s great
What does it mean when lights 1/3 then 2/4 flash back and forth?
What?
@@tradesmenlife was wondering if you knew what some of the flashing light codes on the battery was. Mine was alternating between 1 and 3 flashing at the same time and then 2 and 4 at the same time over and over. I’m guessing my battery overheated
you need diamond graded or tungsten graded blames
That blade had diamonds, it’s worn out and gone!
Maybe you should grind it instead of cutting it
I changed the blade for the next one and it cut like butter
I would have just used a grinding disk.
Yes you can
Wrong blade buddy.
Blades old buddy
আপনারতো ব্লেডই ভালো না।
I don't know how to translate, but thanks for watching
@@tradesmenlife he said “ your blade is no good”
Ese disco no sirve para cortar , cambialo
Si es e viejo
