以前我觉得把句子太难了,但现在我什么都懂了,谢谢可爱的老师👩🏫
It's hard to find Traditional and ZhuYin resources for learning. I really appreciate that you offer such great content with both of them and that you encourage others to as well! Thank you!
Thank YOU Mike! 🥰
My chinese teacher taught us the 把 construction this month and I think it's quite tricky. I'm glad I watched your video because it helps me understand this grammar point better 🤓
Thank you! I'd like to know more about advanced usages and why sometimes Chinese uses SOV but without 把
can you give an example?
1. 可以帮我‘把’灯关了吗
2. 可以帮我关掉灯吗
I will normally say the later one instead of the first one (maybe im from malaysia). To me, both examples try to emphasise 'to switch off the light'. (maybe the first emphasises on the light while the later emphasises the action of switching off, but for me, both the same)
For native speaker, we know when we may neglect the word 把. For beginner, I will still advise you to master the fundamental first, soon you will know when could you ignore the word 把 and when you could not.
hope i dont confuse you. this is a very professional channel to learn chinese anyway, i personally feel that, at least so far I dont see better channel.
@@neoweechang8256 im from singapore and we also use the 2nd sentence more often but as you know singaporeans like to cut down everything so we also say this:
帮我关灯can? or 关灯please? HAHA we don’t usually include the ‘掉’ because too much of a hassle to say 😭
@@ryrydoryy it is totally fine if u don't use the word 掉.
可以帮我关灯吗
可以帮我关掉灯吗
They are same. But if u ask me then what is the diao for, idk tbh.
把复杂的语法解释清楚了,厉害
A video on the advanced usage is always welcome! 把 is very handy and often used.
Teacher Grace has done a remarkable job while teaching Mandarin. She's played two roles, one as a teacher and one as an actress which made the video more fun!
most proper & systematic chinese teaching i had ever watched.
Thank you! Not only for this video, but also for convincing Standard Mandarin Weekly to provide 繁體字. That was the main reason why I hadn’t subscribed to them sooner.
Great job discussing a tricky topic for people learning Chinese! Being able to use these types of expressions takes people from a more basic level to sounding more fluent/advanced.
Great video, I've encountered 把 structure numerous times during listening to model sentences, I was already feeling that I had a basic understanding how to use it, but this video made it even clearer, thank you, Grace!
谢谢你,老师,你的课总是太棒了。
that's amazing I was having trouble understanding 把句子in class because I didn't know when to use it and that just cleared things up a bit thanks for the hard work 老师辛苦了,谢谢您 :)
What a fantastic explanation; especially the origin of 把 as hold. That truly helps place 把 in a new light for me. Thank you!
I’m glad you like that! I spent a lot of time drawing the images😆 So glad it helped!
I saw another video translate it as “take” which really helped me wrap my head around it
I took the cake and ate it
I took the food and ate it
I take the cup and put it on the table
My brother took my computer and broke it
My dog took my homework and ate it

Thank you for a clear explanation! I just learnt about 把 and got a little confused since it's not a part of my language. Your videos help me studying Chinese better.
Easily the clearest, best description of 把 I have seen. 謝謝你很多!
Thank you teacher Grace! I have been needing help with this!😊
Very clarifying! Also, it would be nice a video comparing 把 and 被。

YEYY NEW VIDEO
Needed this! 😂
Thank you so much😭💘
Grace, you're easy on the eye, which makes learning all the more agreeable :)
Thank you for sharing this video! Please show us more about 把...
You can put 把 together as 把把 is a way of greeting
超棒,也给了汉语老师很多启发!
很高興你喜歡!
I just noticed that in English we also add words between the subject and the main verb when we want to change the focus.
I ate the noodles => I took the noodles and ate them.
I ate the cake =>The cake? Oops. I accidentally ate it.
It's not a perfect comparison, but it makes sense to me. When we want to distance ourselves from the action, or change the focus to the object, we add additional information before the verb.
Please make another 把 video!
Good video, always helping to improve all of us who like this wonderful language.
Greetings from Mexico, Grace 🥰

g解釋得很清楚~ 好期待下個影片喔!然後呢我有一個問題,「把。。當成」跟「把。。當作」有什麼不一樣呢?謝謝老師!
there is no difference between them.
感謝妳
视频质量很高啊
I’m from Korea. My books 將 can be used in the same structure in written mandarin, and 以 in Literary Chinese. I’m not sure 以 can be used in Contemporary Chinese.
寶你太有效率了
用我的肝來換😂
You are so beautiful I love to learn with you mandarin thank you 😊 🤗🙏👩🏫
Grace jie, you just look like a Japanese actor 'Sakurai Hinako'. 我很爱你 520💚
Thanks a lot for the explanation, I saw this following sentence in an old song : 你把我欺恨透你, does it mean: You make me hate you? Or 抓把无情风雨还给你 which I don't really understand 100%
you can kind of use "take" expressions in english to explain "把“ sentences: "he took my rice and ate it!"
我把这个视频看了
As a native speaker I didn't even notice the rules of 把 lol
So how would u say "I watched the movie you recommended to me"? Do I have to use 把?
You can say “我把你推薦給我的電影看完了(我把你推荐给我的电影看完了)” or simply “我看完你推薦給我的電影了 (我看完你推荐给我的电影了)” Both of them would be fine. It depends on whether “the movie you recommended” is something you want to put more emphasis on, if you want to talk about it and it’s important in your conversation, you can use 把 structure
(Native speakers would choose different sentence structures to use depending on the context and what they want to emphasize)
一个是把字句,一个是被字句,小学时候学的吧,记得当时我感觉挺难的😅
"把"有四个结构,如果可以分开说清楚这四个结构会更好哦😄
Is 把 and 將 the same?
把=将😁 “将”是更古老的说法,偏向书面用语,更正式的场合使用。
Hello I want to ask if you're teaching simplified or tradional chinese?
If you watch the video, you'll see traditional is in black, with zhuyin transliteration... simplified is in blue with pinyin transliteration
@@sage.citrus Simplified and traditional English are equivalent to uppercase and lowercase, and their pronunciation is exactly the same! Can you teach them separately? Learn to understand traditional automatically from simplified.
I still don’t really get it. would you use 把 if you said: "please watch the movie with me" or "let’s watch the movie together"? Bc in this case you’re doing something to the object (you’re watching it)
But in your sentences, you’re not expressing any change of the movies so you wouldn’t use 把.
Unless you say “Please finish watching the movie, and tell me what you think”, then you can say “請你把電影看完,然後告訴我你覺得怎麼樣 (请你把电影看完,然后告诉我你觉得怎么样)”
@@GraceMandarinChinese ahh now I get it thank you sm💖
It depends on what your emphasis is. For example, if you wanted to focus on the act of doing something together, e.g. "Let's watch a movie together," then you wouldn't need to use 把. On the other hand, if you wanted to focus on finishing a movie together, and then perhaps doing something else, you could say something like "我們一起把電影看完...ba" ;) (Wǒmen yīqǐ bǎ diànyǐng kàn wán). Happy to learn and be corrected if I'm wrong!
Basically this 'ba' structure is the same as the Passive mode in English which shifts the focus from the actor to the recipient of the action. For some reason the true Passive mode isn't that common in Chinese.
is this sentence correct? 读一遍把这篇课文
The word order is a bit different, we would say "把这篇课文读一遍“
@@GraceMandarinChinese 谢谢您
