Hi folks, thanks so much for watching. If you like this content and want to see more great content from this channel, please hit that Subscribe button and turn that thumbs up 👍 blue 💙
Excellent review for my purposes. One thing that stood out was your excellent photography. You really did the watch justice by showing its chameleon characteristics of changing its colour depending on the light. Sometimes the dial looks black and the bezel looks very green and in some lights it’s the exact opposite, while in others both look like very dark green. You also showed the side view which is something I wanted to see. I could go on, but I really enjoyed your review. I’ve been looking at all kinds of dive watches and I think you’ve sold me on the Steinhart 39 Double Green Premium Hulk.
Great review. Your enthusiasm for the piece comes through- keep 'em coming.
Thank you so much Sunjeeve, really appreciate it 🙏
Great video review. From the detailed macro shoot of the watch, I could specifically tell the beauty of the dial. I'm up for it.
Hi Ben, love the review of this watch, you really did catch some great angles, I got my first Steinhart 2 wks ago, the ocean 39 Marine blue. And it’s fabulous, and just about to put the trigger on this model
Keep up the good work 👍🏼
I’ve subscribed 👍🏼👍🏼
Hey Karl, thanks very much, really appreciate it. You won’t go wrong with the hulk believe me, it’s incredible looking
Excellent video. I like the outdoor shots showing the dial changing colour. I have decided to buy one myself. Wear yours in good health. Keep up the good work. Regards.
Thanks so much 🙏. You can't go wrong with this one.
Dein Video ist wirklich sehr sehr gut gemacht ! Gratulation dazu!
Very nice review. Also ur comparison video with pagani and Tudor was good. I can sense ur subscriber numbers skyrocketing soon.
Thanks a million Prasanna, thanks for watching
What I like about your review is that you show the watch in different lights and environment. This is the most important to me since you can read the specs on the main site.
Great vid, thanks :)
Thanks Michael, that was actually my whole intention when starting out this channel
@@WonderofWatches That's smart. Particularly for watches which interest is mainly the play of light on the dial. You got it right 🙂
I was only talking about this recently. One of the main things us enthusiasts love about watches is the dynamism of the dial and case under different light conditions. I try to give viewers a feel for that. Some watches don’t lend themselves well to it though. And I need to upgrade from my smartphone camera at some point. 🙂
@@WonderofWatches I have this Steiny hulk in my radar and your video helped a lot already :)
I love my Steinhart OVM-2. Steinhart make a great product.
Great video, job well done.
A very nice review looks amazing! 39mm is the way to go!
Thanks very much Peter, proportionally, the 39 is bang on 👌
@@WonderofWatches it's a 42mm by the way....
@@CallFor911 there are both 42mm and 39mm versions of this watch, the watch presented here is the 39mm.
Make sure the crown is screwed down and wash the watch in warm soapy water and turn the bezel so that soapy water gets under it then rinse under warm water (not hot water) and after that I bet the bezel loosens up and works much better great review of a really pretty watch I just love my o v red 42mm I just mite sell off some of my seiko divers to fund a Steinhart gmt
Thanks very much for watching, the bezel is definitely loosening with use. The ov red is probably my 2nd favourite steinhart.
hello :) what is the thickness of the bracelet link? even approximated! 3 mm?
Cool watchporn in the video, like it.
In half the shots the bezel is mis-aligned. Is it a problem with this watch, like with so many Seikos, for instance? I have a Steinhart Ocean One Titanium 500 and it also has a slightly misaligned bezel, fortunately the action is stiff enough so that I can position it "between clicks" and the top triangle points exactly at 12:00.
Yep, absolutely bang on with everything you have said. Its misaligned slightly to the right of the 12 o'clock, in its best position. But as you say the action is so stiff, it can be aligned. Not a biggy for me but amazing that they can't get it right all the same. Thanks for your observation, my bezel is exactly the same yours.
Beautiful watch! Love the shots of it out and about, nice one.
Thanks 🙏Glen, unbelievable vfm
@@WonderofWatches I'm thinking of buying a Steinhart but I'm worried it's too much for a homage especially with Pagani seemingly upping their game.
I wouldn’t put Pagani in the same league as Steinhart at all. But I haven’t handled a recent one just one from last year. The steinys use selita / eta elabore movements and the finishing is amazing. The Pagani I had just looked bulky and cheap by comparison. It’s easily worth the money imho. They also do really cool Tudor snowflake and Rolex Explorer dial homages that look incredible. The only drawback is the lume is not wonderful
I actually did a comparison in another video, including a Tudor if you want to check that out
@@WonderofWatches just watched it 👍🏻, the bulk of the Pagani is down to the GMT movement that's in it I would think, maybe?
Great video!
Thanks very much
I just got the 42mm. A little hard for me to size just right. But an outstanding watch. Love it. Green is supreme.
Thanks for watching. My wrist is 6.75 in. I removed 4 links and then moved in one micro adjustment on the clasp. I always find with bracelets theres a bit more movement on the wrist compared to nato / leather strap
I bought the same one. I like the premium version. The price already went up a few $. Its now "available soon" status.
Thank you for the review and for showing off the watch in different light and angles. I will be getting the 42 very soon. Do you still love it?? Would you recommend it? How has your experience been with this Steinhart HULK?? Thank you.
Thanks very much. Yes, I still love the watch, it’s a keeper and will never part my collection. Fit, finish and bracelet is fantastic. The watch is so dynamic and the greens used are beautiful. One drawback I found is, I would prefer there to me more lume applied to indices, but a very minor quibble
@@WonderofWatches I’ve noticed that some lumes glow brighter and seem to last longer than others. There must be some difference in their chemical make-up because I’ve seen some narrow indexes glow brighter and last longer than much wider ones. Do the very expensive brands, like Rolex, use their own proprietary lume?
Maybe you said it and I didn't hear, but how big are your wrists? Trying to figure out if I should get a 42 or 39 -- yours looks to fit really well. My wrists are 6.5 inches.
My wrists are 6.75 inches, I think the 39mm would be perfect for you. But, I will say, I like a smaller watch and even wear 34mm vintage pieces.
Steinhart has me really confused they have 3 green models to choose from, all 39mm which I prefer. This one seems to be $575, the green bezel black dial $430 and the green aluminum bezel for $385. I'm not sure which way I'll go but I think one of these will be purchased soon. Do you know why Steinhart calls this "premium" on thier website? The only thing I can see different is a display case back.
I think the main reason for the premium tag is the movement. Steinhart are calling it the eta 2824-2 élaboré premium. Its a 2824-2 but with thermally blued screws, a golden rotor and some decoration. And of course, as you said, a see through case back through which to view it
I would personally choose this over the black dial / green bezel. The sunburst dial on this watch is stunning and I've tried to capture how dynamic it is under different conditions from 6:44
@@WonderofWatches Thanks for the insight. I guess if I go green, I should go all the way.
is the lume green or blue?
What is the lug to lug width of this watch, please? I am contemplating getting one, how has your experience been with this watch so far?
Hi there, lug to lug is 47mm. I love this watch, it’s one of my favourites. Wears really well and is really well finished. The green of the ceramic bezel and sunburst dial are beautiful. Also, it’s my wife’s favourite piece of mine. The only criticism I have is that I wish for a heavier application of lume plots. Not just for dark environments but it would make the indices pop a bit more in the day time too, Ben
@@WonderofWatches Much appreciated, thanks Ben.
just subscribed to your channel. i have a steinhart "kermit" that i bought to get the feel of a rolex submariner. i recently got a 114060, sub no date, and actually enjoy wearing the steinhart more. the bezel action is more robust; the sub feels a bit mushy. total blasphemy, i know, but that's my opinion.
IKR, the quality is just incredible
The dial looks sunurst but on the website it seems flat green?!
It’s sunburst for sure
Nice
This watch can be brought from their website?? Can't i buy from physical store?
No sorry, it’s direct sales only from the Steinhart Website or Gnomon watches
And here SHE is! ROFLMAO
looks like the bezel is not aligned to the dial
It's a very nice watch, but likewise, the bezel on mine is very stiff to turn. And green is a great watch for St. Patty's Day which is coming up as of this writing!
Yeah, I do think it will loosen up over time. Happy Patrick’s day, gonna be a strange one over here again, still in full lockdown. Still intend to have a whiskey 🥃 though 😀
I have an Ocean One green ceramic in 39 mm, and also find the bezel very stiff. By contrast my 42 mm Ocean One GMT (blue/black) has a nice bezel action and is much easier to turn. I think leverage on the larger diameter case is probably what accounts for this.
Steinhart makes great watches...
Couldn’t agree more
I want it in BLUE! Why don't they make a double-blue 39???
yeah that would be a pretty cool watch, they have a mother of pearl blue dial in 39mm but I dont think thats what you are after. Gunter, Steinhart's owner is really active on Steinhart Watches Fan Page on FB. He might be able help you there. The 42mm version looks very cool.
There actually is a premium blue ceramic with blue sunburst dial but only in 42mm
@@arielohayon2314 and it doesnt have an engraved ceramic bezel
@@mickeydee3595 My guess, they will re-release it sooner or later with updated version with engraved bezel, and maybe 39mm
@@arielohayon2314 hopefully, I was waiting for years for an all green O1 and even asked gunter on facebook a few years back.
Got tired of waiting so I bought a ceramic green kermit and no shit about a few weeks later they released the all green hulk type one.
I was livid lol
Id love the blue one in a 39mm with engraved bezel just like the new ocean ones have
Is it fair to say that the watch looks better in real life than what the camera allows to capture it
Couldn't weigh 170 g, could it? I'd be willing to bet against that spec... I have one, by the way.
Nice vlog enjoy
Thank you 😊
Did you buy it directly from the site ?
I did indeed
Just ordered mine. Still happy with yours?
Hey, I loved the watch but ultimately sold it an around 20 other watches to fund a Speedy and a Seiko 6105
Would it be ok for a 7.5 wrist?
Hi James, personally, I prefer the smaller size but my wrist is 6.75. Your wrist is bigger and I think the 39mm lug to lug 47mm would wear beautifully on your wrist but I guess after that it comes down to taste. If you prefer a bigger watch, I think you could easily accommodate the 42mm 50mm lug to lug. If you had an opportunity to try before you buy then do that. More difficult with a 100% online business like Steinhart. Unless you wrist is extremely round, I dont think you can go wrong with either size. If your wrist is very round, the small 39mm may be the better option. Ben.
Wonder of Watches Thank your. Great video and new subscriber
anyine her buy off Gnomon watches?
I haven’t personally but have been tempted in the past. A friend of mine has, but it was a while ago. But I remember him say it was a good experience and that they worked the shipping info so that he didn’t get hit with customs etc
That would be the danger for me, that you would be hit with customs charges and VAT, which means you need to factor an increase in of approx 33% on the advertised price.
Ive asked steinhart about making an all green ocean one for years!
Finally gave up and bought the green ceramic bezel over the black dial.
No shit 2 weeks later steinhart released this model. I was absolutely livid 😂
arhhhhHHHHH!!!!!!!
Do you have two watch channels? Your voice is so similar to a gent who posts vids from Italy.
No this is my one and only channel and this video is my first uploaded last Sunday. I'm from Ireland 🇮🇪 but I think you may be thinking of Oisin from Timeless Watch Channel who is also from Ireland.
Wonder of Watches ah, I see - well, your production, review, and narration are superb! Keep it up - subbed 😎
@@reereelization thank so much, I appreciate your kind comment
I’m selling mine for 600, only reason is that the bezel is stiff and doesn’t move
Traum Uhr!!!
vereinbart 100%
I feel the gevril hulk submariner homage (wall street) a bit more superlative than this one in same price bracket
I’m not familiar with that brand, I must check them out
the “mercedes” logo on the hours hand totally kill all my expectative
Can't decide on the size 😬
I wouldn’t dare to advise. My wrist size is 6.75 inches and 39mm is absolutely perfect 👌
@@WonderofWatches I got 6.7 inch, own a ray 2 which is 41mm, absolutely spot on, but I hear steinhart wears bigger..
I think the 39mm would be perfect for you, but again it depends on the shape of your wrist. If they are flat and have plenty of surface area on top, then maybe the 42mm. Also, if you are used to wearing bigger watches, the 39mm may come as a surprise size wise. I wear 43mm Seiko Turtles too but that has a cushion case and is meant to be big. The Steinhart is a different kind of watch (more akin to a Rolex) and I think the smaller size is more elegant.
@@WonderofWatches shame they don't have any stores except in Germany so we could try them. One option is to buy both and then return one 😂
Yeah it’s a double edged sword that one. You can’t try them on but it’s also how they keep the cost so low.
I've got the 42mm. The only problem I have with it is that I can't take it off. Jajajajajajajajajajaja hahahahaha
👌super watch, well may she wear
Shame it's 39 to small
They do make a 42mm too
