  • Did you know the Old Testament foreshadows the Eucharist? There is a lot we miss as modern readers of the Bible. In the Passover, in his sacrifice on the Cross, in his Last Supper, Jesus unites the fullness of the Old Testament and the Temple and the practices of the Jewish people into a divine participation in the worship of God. Bread, wine, and the temple all have deep context to the Jews of Jesus’ time. And Jesus used these elements to institute the Eucharist. In the Mass, our worship of God finds its fullness and fulfillment.

We believe the Catechism is not a textbook, a collection of ideas, or a set of rules. We believe it is the faithful echo of a God who desires to reveal himself to us. The mission of Real+True is to retransform the catechism into a living voice for the modern world. We’re creating videos, stories, animations, podcasts, to unpack and unlock the catechism of the catholic church for the modern world. All these videos are free, and translated into multiple languages for the world.

I just became Catholic is December on the first Sunday of Advent (with permission from our Bishop).
How I started exploring Catholicism was actually through the Hebraic roots of our faith and searching the time of Jesus.
More and more it started sounding like Catholicism, Orthodox, or even the Missouri synod Lutheran.
Even so I learned more from this video. Thanks!

The Mass is simply the next step of the Temple Service , where the Sacrifice is now of the Consecrated Host , Christ as Lamb and risen again , and serving as Salvation to all those who partake in His Body .It is pretty clear the connection .

I would have liked to see all of the scripture references with this video. It would have made it far more informative and it would have allowed people to search it for themselves.

"Do this in remembrance of me" - to Jews, "remembrance" (the original word, which I can't recall - no pun intended - did not mean a sweet memory. It meant "make it REAL again," like Passover for the Jews is made REAL again each celebration - not a memory or empty ceremony. This "the REAL presence" in the Eucharist. The sacrifice makes Christ REAL again in the Eucharist.

read John 6 like you almost eat the chapter literally. for 5 times as Jesus repeated it.

"DO THIS in remembrance of me." "For who can hear this? It is a hard saying." Yet Jesus let them walk away rather than say "No, wait - I only meant it figuratively, it's only a symbol!" And what was the word used for "remembrance?" In the language, it wasn't like "a memory." It meant "make it present/REAL again." This is how Jews celebrate the Passover, too.

Communion, the Eating of the Flesh and the Drinking of the Blood comes from the Cult of Mithras, the Dying Resurrecting Idol who Raises the Dead, Heals the Lame and Sick and Dies for the People.

Oh man, I think you just deconstructed 2000 years of church history in a single UA-cam comment. I don't think these exact words have ever been brought up before. You should bring this straight to your nearest priest. I don't know if they would have any sort of response to this. You must be the smartest person alive😮

first century Hebrew worship comes from the cult of Zoroaster. I guess all of Judaism and Christian worship are condemned now.
see how easy it is to make a strawman?
reading the wiki page on Mithras gives plenty of writings from church fathers like Martyr condemning the cult of mithras. read more books and start thinking for yourself.
