The Holy Mass, Explained by the Catechism
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 кві 2023
- In the Mass, Heaven and earth, all the angels and saints, come together in communion with Jesus Christ to participate in the worship of God. Participation in the Mass unites us to Jesus, strengthens us for the pilgrimage of this life, makes us long for eternal life, and connects us to the Church in heaven

👇 ABOUT 👇
We believe the Catechism is not a textbook, a collection of ideas, or a set of rules. We believe it is the faithful echo of a God who desires to reveal himself to us. The mission of Real+True is to retransform the catechism into a living voice for the modern world. We’re creating videos, stories, animations, podcasts, to unpack and unlock the catechism of the catholic church for the modern world. All these videos are free, and translated into multiple languages for the world.
Real+True is a project of OSV under the patronage of the Holy See and supported by people who join our mission.
I am thinking of becoming Catholic; and this has been a lifelong journey because I was raised in the evangelical church. I just want to say that with all the reading I've been doing, including Catholicism for Dummies, this is the simplest, most beauiful explanation of what the Eucharist means to me. In later years I was confirmed Anglican, but even that didn't seem complete to me. This is just an absolutely wonderful video - and i will now always see those wonderful angels and all the saints, including my own dear mother and father, behind the alter with Jesus! 1:53 Pls. pray that God will guide me in my journey.
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! Be assured of our prayers for you on this journey. 🙏🏽
Try a catholic mass
God Bless You ❤️
The term "Mass" is derived from the concluding words of the Roman Rite Mass in Latin: Ite, missa est ('Go, it is the dismissal', officially translated as 'Go forth, the Mass is ended'). The Late Latin word missa substantively corresponds to the classical Latin word missio. In antiquity, missa simply meant "dismissal".

So, when you go to "Mass" are you going, or being dismissed???

Just a couple of quick questions in order to better understand for myself. First question: Video time 1:39 - The question that is asked of the church "that our sacrifice may be acceptable" is confusing to me because as I understand it only the sacrifice of Jesus dying on the cross is the only acceptable sacrifice that God the Father would accept. And the second question would be with the transubstantiation during Eucharist...if Christ commands us to take BOTH the body and blood during the Eucharist why is it that churches no longer give the laity the wine/juice (blood) of Christ but only the body? Wouldn't this be a violation of what Christ has commanded? Thank you and God bless.
Thanks for the questions! So as I understand it, we ask God that our sacrifice will be acceptable because we do not want to assume that our sacrifice will be acceptable to God. We don't want to presume that God will accept our sacrifice, which is a participation in Christ's sacrifice.
As to the second question... the Church teaches that Jesus is present "body, blood, soul and divinity" in both the species of the eucharist and the blood of Christ. So Jesus is present body, blood, soul, and divinity in both the communion and the wine we receive. So we do not necessarily need to receive both in order to receive Christ fully at Mass. I hope this helps!
I grew up during the time that both bread and wine were offered in the Catholic Mass but everyone drank from a single cup unlike other Christian Masses where it is offered in individual cups. There came a point when there were a lot of viruses going around and drinking the wine was curtailed and then Covid came. It isn’t necessary that we take both… . The same with the shaking of hands…. (which was not done during my time. 🙏🏻
Excellent!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love this. Thank you.
So glad you enjoyed it!
God bless you ❤️

Excuse a God? God is not a God but he is the ONLY God YAHWEH.
The priest becomes Christ ,
God bless you ❤️
quote---The priest becomes Christ ,.. unquote
LOL--ROFL--LMAO
THAT IS NOT FROM THE BIBLE!!!
When you say the priest stands in place of Jesus you are speaking heresy.
What do you think in persona Christi means?
Sorry to say my friend, You are ignorant. Catholics do NOT say 'in place of'.....but 'in persona's.....as a representative of Christ himself, as the apostles did when Christ sent them out, both before and after his Resurrection. Do me a favor, remember this my Protestant brother, that for 1500 yrs, the early Christians on, they celebrated and remembered Christ iim ways very similar, with slight changes over the years. The TRUE HERESEY....is that about 500 yrs ago, M. Luther didn't like the Hebrew roots of our faith or the old testament and decided to change things to 'his way of faith.'. I am so tired of having to try and defend TRUE practice of faith to people who only know what there 'pastor' and friends tell them. Do me a favor, learn more before u speak and maybe u can better yourself.....oh wait, then you'd be Catholic
I got news for you....what do you think YOU are doing when you show compassion to someone in need, when YOU 'evangelize' the Gospel to someone who maybe doesn't know it, when YOU pray for someone....YOU are in persona as well. And a priest is in persona from the moment Simon Peter put his hands on LINUS and told him he was to lead the church, who in turn out his hands on Cletus, who then put his hands Clement, etc, etc, etc.....i don't think 'Bob' or 'JOE' who leads a sermon on Sunday has any clue of what that Theology, that tradition, that teaching from the apostles actually is. But God Bless you, I will pray that Christ Enlightens your mind and heart ion your journey. If you truly want to know where Catholics come from with the Mass, why this belief, how that tradition.....I would like to recommend any video on that topic, or any Catholic belief for that matter, from DR. BRANT PITRE....you will learn a thing or two. IF NOT......get a life other than attempting to bash Catholicism, like maybe worry about your own faith....or maybe work on Judaism (id like to see how that goes)
So I prayed on this.
1st off, I have to apologize for getting so frustrated with you; as all of us have to continue to better ourselves in parts of our faith and our life, I have to really work on growing in patience.
I humbly ask that you just be empathetic with me when I have such a joy and a love for Christ and for my faith, that it is a struggle when people try to tear that down. I would be just as upset if a fellow Catholic decided to 'attack' a video or evangelization on one of your Faith's video instead of praying for them and asking God to Bless them; that's how it came across from your comment.
So.....I ask only this from you, as a way to maybe gain an understanding of each other and an attempt to better reunite all types of Christianity......if you really would like to understand more, not necessarily accept right away, but just be more informed....please search and watch this video: Fr. Mike Schmitz: "Pray The Mass Like Never Before" | SEEK2019.
Peace be with you
@@ChristianHockenbury In persona Christi is a pagan catholic doctrine that the saved do not recognize. Sir are you born again as Jesus spoke about?
