    Passover is the oldest religious holiday that is still celebrated today. It began over 3500 years ago when the Lord freed ancient Israel from Egyptian bondage. After His deliverance, the Lord commanded the children of Israel to celebrate this feast each year to remind them how He had freed their ancestors from captivity. In obedience to that ancient commandment, Jews still observe this holiday today, and many Jews believe that the promised Messiah will come to free them on Passover, just as the Lord freed their ancestors so long ago.
    As Christians, we believe that Jesus Christ did redeem His people during the feast of Passover, when He suffered and died in Jerusalem almost 2000 years ago. Though I am a deeply committed Christian, I love celebrating the Jewish holiday of Passover. It has become one of my favorite holidays because of its beautiful symbolism and ritual, and because it teaches me so much about the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our true Passover Lamb. I invite you to join in this ancient celebration, to gain a greater appreciation of the faith of your ancestors and the redemption of your Savior. As we remember God's deliverance of an ancient people in a foreign land, we gain renewed confidence that He will also deliver and uphold us, and will free us from those things that bind us, that in Him we can have life, and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Today we celebrate an ancient festival, but with new eyes.

    Thank you for the video. April 3, 2014 Passover by LEV23. As Believers in Christ Jesus, Yahusha Ha Mashiach...He is our Passover Lamb and we should observe Passover in the Spirit, reading Scripture and in prayer. The most important day is His Resurrection...three days and three nights in the grave...on April 7,2014. Christ defeated death for us through His Resurrection. Through Christ we no longer are dead (separated from our Heavenly Father), and through His Sacrifice and Blood we are once again restored to our Heavenly Father. HalleluYah!

    God loves us all. He wants us to accept his free gift of salvation so that we can live with him in heaven forever! Do you want ETERNAL LIFE? Confess that you're a sinner! REPENT from your sins, turn to God, and TRUST in Jesus. Have faith in him! Accept Jesus as your lord and savior, and ask him to come into your heart and life! You MUST become BORN AGAIN!! God wants a relationship with you through Jesus! He loves you!
    If you reject Jesus, your sins will not be forgiven, so God will have no choice but to send you to HELL! Why would you want to be punished forever?

    • @readerrabbit4566
      @readerrabbit4566 6 років тому

      The gospel of Jesus Christ is to repent, be baptized in his name for the remission of your sins, and recieve God's Holy Spirit. Read Acts 2:38. There is no such thing as asking Jesus to come into your heart for your salvation, it is found nowhere in the bible.

    I love this video...but there is one line at the 5:40 mark that is inaccurate and concerns me. It states that "on this (Passover) night, Christ would redeem all His children from the slavery of sin and the bondage of death. After completing this symbolic meal,...Jesus and His disciples...went to a garden called Gethsemane. Jesus' atoning journey had begun." Maybe I'm just "splitting hairs" as the expression goes, but due to misrepresentations of the Truth these days by false religions, I think we need to focus on complete accuracy. It's true, the journey toward redemption was at its start that night, but Christ's redemption of the world took place the next morning upon the CROSS, not in the Garden of Gethsemane. (The Mormon religion falsely teaches that Jesus' shedding of blood took place in this garden when He sweat droplets of blood.) Just to be clear...Jesus' monumental sacrifice on the Cross constitutes His "shedding of blood" for the sins or redemption of mankind. This took place during Passover (Passover lasts about seven or eight days), but it was not that evening when the Last Supper took place but rather the following Passover morning, from 9AM to 3PM.
    Maybe I'm just being overly cautious...but when the video made the statement that it was that night that Christ redeemed the world, and then the video showed Him go to the Garden and state that His atoning journey had begun, I was concerned that this clip might teach the wrong thing about Jesus' sacrifice...we cannot minimize what He did on the CROSS...it was at the Cross where He redeemed us. :)

    • @TheRealDonLayton
      @TheRealDonLayton 5 років тому +1

      "The Mormon religion falsely teaches..." I respectfully disagree. They got it right. Shedding of blood was the shedding of blood, which took place in Gethsemane as well as on the cross. All of His blood that was spilt was part of His sacrifice for sins. It was "finished" on the cross.

    • @joshc4306
      @joshc4306 4 роки тому

      Wonderful post but to clarify; The Cross is very important, in fact The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints believes that the Atonement took place not just on the cross but also in Gethsemane where He felt all the pains and sicknesses of the people.

    Folks get confused by the word “symbol” especially when it comes to the Passover, the last supper, the “eat my body , drink my blood”. In the minds of most americans, this symbol of christ and his life and mission is taken as a token, a sign, often immaterial but a nice thing to remember the salvation of Christ for us all. But, we must remember Christ as High Priest of God the Father is conducting this passover. God the Father is asking his Son in his human, incarnate form in this ancient Hebrew life to allow himself to be consumed by humans, to eat his body and blood as the Hebrews did with the lambs sacrificed in the fields for 3000 years. The Last Supper, the Body of Christ and Blood of Christ has inherent value that penetrates deep into our souls and lives in the life of humans as a redemptive gift from God the Father. The Eucharist service is not just a symbol but a Thanksgiving that we share directly.

    I do agree that communion has replaced the Passover, the only reason I enjoy celebrating it is because it helps me better understand the communion. It brings greater understanding. Just my personal opinion though.

    I'm sorry brother but you are in total are because Jesus did not do his Passover on Passover he did his on preparation day it was not a Passover and it was not unleavened bread Christ died on Passover and he was three days and three nights if you know anything about the biblical calendar you would know that he was put on the cross on Wednesday Andros on Saturday not Sunday he had to do that to fulfill first fruits that's why when the women came to the tomb he said do not touch me I have not ascended to my father the last supper has been very Miss understood it wasn't the food that was the supper it was his words for remembrance of him because if he did eat Passover on Passover he would have been breaking Torah for telling Judas to go do what he was going to do do quickly not everyone thought he was going to go buy something to prepare for Passover so your video doesn't make any bit of sense

    It's important to remember our roots, but we Christians really shouldn't celebrate the Jewish Passover because that feast was fulfilled/transformed/perfected with the coming of the true Lamb of God which was offered at the Last Supper and instituted as the Passover of the New Covenant. We participate in this New Passover by sharing in Holy Communion where bread and wine become His Body & Blood. In this way we are obeying God where he commanded the Passover to be celebrated forever (Exodus12).

      1 Cor 5 shows us Paul taught us to actually keep it as Christ did with all the other Feasts of God. And if you look into church history it was kept not as communion for a full century before gentile & Jewish Christians began to be bullied to threats of death to give it away because of the Roman persecution of Jews & all the biblical and non biblical worship doctrine of the Jews when they rebelled against the Romans. History then shows the gentile bishops to stay in Jersualem had to give away everything that looked biblical to stay so they gave up the FAITH once given and all the problems that separated the ONE new man in Christ neither Jew or Gentile slave or free began to seriously undermine the truth that Jews and Gentiles worshiped together eating and worshiping like the bible asks us to. IT took more than 3 centuries to establish this OTHER false Gospel which did not walk as Christ taught us. The Feast is to be kept for all time according to God's word just like the Sabbath..& Pentecost and Yom Teruah and Yom Kipppur and the Feast of Tabernacles. Paul tells us to walk as Christ walked... no man made doctrine but what the Father spoke to Moses interpreted by the Holy Spirit. The Law of God is Spirit according to the Bible. Yes it couldn't save us but that is because of sin which makes us know our need of a Saviour.. That is why in ACTs 5 it tells us Christ preached the Kingdom of God which is twofold. 1. about repentance towards God which means going back to what He said for mankind to do so we learn how to not sin & forgiveness of sins which is the ongoing grace we receive when we believe but we will be tested just like the Exodus generation to see if we love God and will obey His commandments to see if we enter the promised land( First Resurection of the Dead). We need both faith and obedience as Christ wasn't a minister of sin. Rom 3:31 tells us that we are to uphold the Law in Christ. When pastors show different parts of the NT it is generally out of context & it is only the body of Christ who should judge us on how we keep God's Feasts not the Jews who do not know Christ or our pagan friends or families who do not know Christ. If you love me keep my commandments says Jesus. The FEASTS are prophetic and are shadows of things TO come. Not all prophecy of Jesus has been fulfilled. He is coming back to JUDGE according to His FATHERS words & Jesus is his Father's Words made flesh as example of correctly interpreting and applying the Law of Moses by the Spirit in the New Covenant where our sins are atoned for by Christ's blood and the Holy Spirit writes the Law of God on our hearts. So the Priesthood changed in how to atone for sin but the rest of God's instructions stand if they apply to our particular circumstance. One thing people get upset about is that they believe there was little or no mercy in the OT but NO-ONE could receive a death sentence without 2 or 3 witnesses minimum & those people had to throw the first stone as well & it had to be decided in a court full of Elders & unlike what happened to Jesus there were not many people stoned. Just like Mary could have been stoned for pre-marital sexual relations...Joseph showed compassion and was prepared to show love and just sever the engagement instead of going ahead with the procedure to have her stoned. The Laws of men...whether from Jews of gentiles if they make the Law of God of none-effect are not eternal. Hope this gets you to think about why you believe what you believe. Be blessed and check it out as Jesus is the WAY the TRUTH & the LIFE.

      AmericanBerean, your statement contradicts itself, that was 7yrs. ago, hopefully you are no longer spreading false teaching, neither paul, james, peter, called themselves Christians, that's not to say that they didn't follow the footsteps of their Messiah, today Christians, do not follow in the footsteps of my Messiah, if He commanded them to do the will of His Father today, like He did some 2000 yrs. ago, you Christians would probably call for His execution. insane how history has a way of repeating itself. I am a Israelite grafted into the Branch, dying to self, pursuing His righteousness, putting my full faith in the death and resurrection of our Savior Yahushua Ha Mashiach, Shaul was called the ringleader of the Natsarenes, so paul(shaul), james, and peter, were Natserenes. some people in Antioch called the followers of the "Way" Christian, or some version of it. what did Christianity do for the greek jesus? well for one thing catholic (pagan) leaders of the blind, changed the day of Sabbath from the God ordained 7th day, to the first day, shortened version of " honor of the sun deity", look up Gregorian calendar, by poop Gregory, each day honors a pagan god, no sabbath. sorry for the slang, but false teachers really make me want to vomit

    No. The Passover called for roasted lamb, bitter herbs, and unleavened bread. That's it. Just read Exodus 12 and Leviticus 23. The biblical holy week is the week of Unleavened Bread, which is kicked off with the Passover meal on the night of the 14th of the first month. And we don't eat leaven or have it in our homes for the entire week, so not hot cross buns in sight.
    Constantine and the council in 325 changed the date and other practices so as to not look like they were Jewish. So making any connections between easter and Passover is against what those church influencers wanted. Best to just stick with your easter, and leave Passover alone as your church fathers wanted.

      If you were God you wanted robots without actual free will. Might be easier on the heart but would it be rewarding and actual relationship with your Creation? It would be like buying a hooker to say I love you instead of leading a person from darkness back to light because you as the Creator actually care for them enough to die in the incarnation of a human being who suffered as any human does but went a step further for us by giving up life in such a manner. Messiah actually had to trust as a human being who lost the glory He had when He existed as the alef tav with God in the Spiritual realm. Yeshua had to trust he would be given the strength when in human form to overcome every fear of the pain to come and not avoid the death on the cross.. Be blessed. FJ
