I have watched so many C2C tutorials & I could never get the turn right... Your "2 feet" analogy clicked with me. So now I tell myself - " turn, connect heel to toe & start a new row". I am now well on my way to it actually looking like a blanket! Thank you! ❤
The thing that makes this channel so amazing is the level of instruction. I come back to this over and over again. For some reason the decrease is hard for me so I just come back to this video and get the instruction I need. Yay !!!
I COULD NOT figure out how to decrease C2C. Watched a million videos, and read as many patterns. When I found your video, I felt like I could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! I made a practice swatch, and by George, I’ve finally got it!! First thing tomorrow morning, I try to apply it to my blanket. Thank you!
I am so glad that I found your channel! I have tried to do a C2C many times, but just couldn't understand what a written pattern was telling me and your explanation about the "two feet and the flipping" part was so helpful. A light bulb went off in my head! Thank you! You are very focused, concise, and have a nice voice :)
Oh great, I’m so glad when that happens! 💡 I’m thrilled that I got to be a part of that , thank you for letting me know. Here’s to many C2C projects in your future! 🙌🏻👏🏻💕
Thank you so much for your little feet analogy and the brief explanation on when to chain 3 or 6, it helped my brain grasp how to do the pattern as I struggled so much
Best c2c tutorial ever. I struggled so much trying to crochet into the back of the chain following other tutorials... yours is the only one I've seen that says to do the stitches first (to get your second little 'foot') and then flip it after. Seems so obvious now but was an absolute game changer for me and made something that was previously impossible for me into something easy!
Oh, I just want to tell you how happy I am and to Thank You so much for your C2C tutorials. Ive been trying to learn for a few years now and I just wasn't getting it. I saw you had a Granny Square C2C video so I watched it, since I was very familiar with Granny Squares, and I got it real quick. It was easy. Then I saw this video on 4 ways to do C2C and I followed along and Wow, it just Clicked in my head and made sense to me finally. I got it. Im sure other C2C tutorials I watched in the past were good, they didnt make things click in my head to understand the concept. But this one, YOURS, sure did and I Thank you for that. I only learned the Classic version, will attempt to learn the others as time goes on but I wanted you to know that youve opened up a new door for me to now be able to create new ways to make crochet afghans. Love it
Wowee, Melissa, thank you from the bottom of my heart for telling me this. I get so excited when I hear from you guys that the “click” happened and that I got to be a part of it . 💕 Happy crocheting !!
Thank you for your wonderful video. I had started a C2C scarf over a year and a half ago and put it aside. Went back to it today and from your video figured out how to do the “modern decrease” and finished it off today. Thank you, you are a lifesaver.
What a great and informative video! Love how thorough this instructor is. Not only does she list all relevant materials she also has time stamps. Thanks so much !!! 😊
Hi. I am not seeing time stamps for this video. I usually do see them if they’re set in a video. Can you tell me if there’s a setting within the video itself that I may not be seeing? Thanks very much.
I just finished watching all your tutorials concerning granny squares. I wish I would’ve known all this before I attempted my past projects. I am retired now. Now is the time to start a new granny square project. Thank you so much for all your information very much appreciated!
Thank you so much for this video. I want to start a project and didn't know where to begin! Your instructions was very comprehensive and cleared up some of the confusion I had after watching other videos on youtube. Much appreciated.
I have been trying to learn this for years and would get frustrated and give up. You're such a good teacher and explained it so well I finally got it. Thank you 💕
Great instructions! Very clear, well lit and enough pausing in between (even without pausing the video) to to keep up. It has been helping my crochet mojo. Thank you so much!
I'm loving your instructions and the different variations you show. I already know how to do c2c but it fantastic to see your versions. I love choices! Thank you for sharing this. :)
Never been a big fan of C2C but after your video I think it’s because I didn’t understand it,,, thanks for tis clear, simple, informative, teaching video…
Excellent explanation. This way gives more confidence to understand because she explain doing different steps. Therefore it is different from others; it is more structured. Thanks a lot . Thanks I find you to play Hooky.
Hi roz I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy your videos your voice is so. relaxing and. So encouraging.. I always refer to you when wondering what to make next... You have no idea how much you have helped me. Thanks so much.. ❤❤❤
Loved this. The best explanation of C2C that I've seen. This one actually made sense to me. the others that I have watched on UA-cam so far just didn't click with me. I picked up on this just by listening while I completed another task... twas awesome!
Omg! I was struggling with the c2c idea so hard. I watched a ton of videos and just didn't seem able to grasp it 😭 I'm completely new to crochet -- I had the stitches figured out but you explained the rows so beautifully! I'm so excited to keep going on this! Thank you!
I am making a very detailed C2C blanket and have been struggling with the classic method. The mini is perfect!! Thank you so much for sharing - you are a very good teacher!
I downloaded my first pattern from Etsy. It was c2c and suggested in mini. I have never done this style before. You did an amazing job on this. I know several different ways to do this now, all thanks to you! You have a new subscriber!❤ Thank you so very much!
I am so thankful I just discovered you!! You, by far are the best at instructing that I've ever found! I've been crocheting since childhood but just never found confidence in branching out and thanks to your videos I can finally try some new stitches haha!! Thanks so much!!
I am planning on making a wall hanging of my son's wedding picture and thought i would have to crochet it with a graph that would use single crochet rather than c2c but now i think I'll use the extra-mini c2c. Thanks for the idea!
I like the mini slip stitch edge as you go. My friend taught me how to crochet with the regular block stitch, which was made into a baby blanket . Great video.
This was really fun to watch. I have just learned to make the classic C2C stitch and I have made a few things with it. I am looking forward to try the other three methods. Thank you for this video, I've learned something new today.
I've been doing 'modern' for 7-8 years, and didn't know it :) I learned that ch 2 for a turning chain, works better with my DC in all patterns. thank you (though, I don't think of myself as a 'beginner') I was curious, I like your style (I am dyslexic and youtube is the only reason I could advance, it took me years to be able to read patterns, I much prefer graphs. Now I have a few designers that I stay with because, of course, crochet patterns are not 'standardized'. The (maybe slight to others) difference between drive me up the wall
Oh thank you , I appreciate your kind words! I gave up crochet for years because reading patterns became so challenging. I am with you , I really adore graphs. It helps a lot when you find patterns from foreign countries too ! 😀🧶💕

super helpful!!! I am doing a temperature blanket & thought I'd like to control how big it gets so thought c2c would be great & your mini c2c blocks will be great!
Oh thank you - that was just a little flower square that I designed to practice the C2C process. You can see it on my Instagram account , @playhookywithme 💕
I just started making a c2c and I’ve found it so much easier than “normal” blankets. I tend to make my blankets grow either from adding a extra stitch (I figured that out and fixed it) or my tension being wonky from literally tension. Anyways this one is easy to crochet and watch tv etc. atleast for me and to find out I can make designs in them?! Heck ya 😆 I’m going to make so many of these…I have plans muhuhuha 😈
Thank you for a really informative tutorial. Relaxing to listen to, such a lovely soft voice, and good camera angles. Perhaps you could show how to make a c2c graph please, step by step? Including decrease rows. Graphs are my downfall and I’d love to make one but so far no one has made it really easy to follow, it’s decreasing in the pattern that I fall down on. So when you have the time, pretty please from across the pond (UK). xx
Yes I’m working on a video like this now and hope to share next week but it may not be exactly what you are looking for . I hope there will be something in it that helps though 💕 I’m not quite understanding where the decreasing is causing issues for you. Have you tried using stitchfiddle website to help format your graph? They have a free version . I’ll be talking about that in the video too . thank you for your lovely feedback, it inspires me to keep making videos 💕
Thank you soooo much for these detailed and very well explaned informations! I am glad as well to have found your channel. Thanks to your clear and calm speach I am able to follow and crochet together with you :) is it possible to combine the variatons in a project?
Best instruction yet for c2c. Thanks so much. Watched at least 20 others and was lost . And yes I had a question if not more but when or why do u do 3 or 6 chains and you answered thanks again
Hello…could you please tell me what program you use on your tablet that puts a fit in each square…that would really be helpful to keep my rows in line with each other…Thank you in advance 🤗 love this video on c2c crochet 🥰
Hi I just found you and subscribed, a great tutorial thanks for all the ideas, best wishes from Ireland, stay safe, looking forward to watching all your videos, xx
This is such a good, clear tutorial!! Thank you for showing the different types of C2C!! Have you got a C2C tutorial on how to change colour at the end of rows?
I don’t have a specific video geared to it - I just share during videos . Here is an example in another video. Skip to 6:15 to see how I like to change colors . This would work for regular C2C as well. Hope this helps 💕 ua-cam.com/video/9Nsxh_Az8jc/v-deo.html
Hello I was wondering about the program you are using on the iPad for your graph that enables you to mark oaf completed squares. Thank you for the video on the different types of c2c.
Nancy Mertens I think there is an app called sketchbook for android that you could make work. I had to design my own grid (I googled a graph and imported it into procreate- you might have to do the same) . You could also try a site called stitch fiddle. It’s free and you can design a pattern there and save it to your Android. I hope this helps and if it does, please let me know! 💗
Have you ever tried C2C silt stitch or C2C ribbing stitch? I just saw some videos I'm going to try.... I also saw somebody on a video doing linear or horizontal C2C stitches but I couldn't see enough of what she was doing because of the way it was filmed and her hands always being in the way.... Do you have a video for that stitch?
I read a graph on the diagonal and find drawing arrows on the graph helps me to remember which direction I’m going on it. for example, row two I’m working downwards then row 3 I’m working upwards and so on… I literally draw this onto my graph to keep track. And if I DO lose track, then I place my work down making sure my tail is sitting on the bottom right to help me see that I’m on the right side (the side I started on) and following the arrows properly. Hope that helps
I am watching your video and you make it look easy and understandable. Question... what kind of app are you using on your tablet that you have your c2c image on and I see you were able to jot on the beginning of your blocks you did. It looks like a great way to keep track of blocks done. Thank you.
You make this look so easy! Thank you for making this video. It has really helped me to understand! I am also interested in the graph on your tablet, is that an app of some kind, it seemed to really help to keep your place in the pattern. Bless you!!
Very good instruction. The best I've found on UA-cam.
I’m so happy it was helpful, thank you !
I agree , very good! I look forward to more videos!
I agree. The others don’t explain the “whys” for each step like she does. Excellent.
I love people who explain like this and take time. I am self taught crochet person all you tube😍
Thank you 😊 🙏

Hello…could you please tell me what program you use on your tablet that puts a fit in each square…that would really be helpful to keep my rows in line with each other…Thank you in advance 🤗 love this video on c2c crochet 🥰
I use the free version of stitch fiddle . I like to design my illustrations on my iPad with Procreate.
This is totally awesome ….just what I was looking for!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH 😘😘😘
Wonderful! 😀💕
Hi I just found you and subscribed, a great tutorial thanks for all the ideas, best wishes from Ireland, stay safe, looking forward to watching all your videos, xx
How lovely, thank you so much 😀 💕
What is the program you are using on your tablet for keeping up with the pattern & notes? I LOVE it
This is such a good, clear tutorial!!
Hope this helps 💕

@@PlayHookywithMe thank you, that's very helpful 😀
NM on your tablet & app… found it on your other YT video ❤
Ok great 👏🏻❤️
Hello I was wondering about the program you are using on the iPad for your graph that enables you to mark oaf completed squares. Thank you for the video on the different types of c2c.
The program I used on the iPad is called “Procreate”. Thank you for watching 💕
@@PlayHookywithMe is there a programme for android? thx
Those sound interesting. I’m not familiar with any of them. Can you send me links?
Very informative. Thank you so much ma'am.
I’m so glad you found it useful, thank you for taking the time to comment 💕
can you explain how to read a graph? I am following your classic stitch and reading a graph I have but I want to make sure I am doing it right.
I read a graph on the diagonal and find drawing arrows on the graph helps me to remember which direction I’m going on it. for example, row two I’m working downwards then row 3 I’m working upwards and so on…
I literally draw this onto my graph to keep track.
And if I DO lose track, then I place my work down making sure my tail is sitting on the bottom right to help me see that I’m on the right side (the side I started on) and following the arrows properly.
Hope that helps
I hv learned a lot of things from you thanks 😊 🙏🏼
I’m so happy to read this thank you 😀💕
Love this video, exactly what I needed!
Glad it was helpful! 💕
Great video ! Thank You 🤗
Thank you for the tutorial ❤️
I am watching your video and you make it look easy and understandable.
Question... what kind of app are you using on your tablet that you have your c2c image on and I see you were able to jot on the beginning of your blocks you did. It looks like a great way to keep track of blocks done.
Thank you.
Oh sure, it’s called Procreate. Really useful app 👍🏻💕
You make this look so easy! Thank you for making this video. It has really helped me to understand! I am also interested in the graph on your tablet, is that an app of some kind, it seemed to really help to keep your place in the pattern. Bless you!!
Thank you !! Yes - the app is called Procreate 💕
@@PlayHookywithMe thanks so much
