  • In the winter of 2022, Amtrak opened their newest station in Middletown, Pennsylvania on the Keystone Corridor so I stopped by to take a look, while also saying goodbye to one of my favorite railfanning spots. The Keystone Corridor was abuzz with 50th Anniversary schemes on the diesel-powered Pennsylvanians, and the Phase III wrapped sprinter in regular electric service.
I recommend watching my previous video leading up to the new station: • Winter Amtrak Trains o...
This video was filmed throughout the end of January 2022 and since then the old Middletown Platform has been fenced off.

And I thought that I'd seen it all. Run in front of a triple digit moving train.. I'll stop right there. Good stuff, I'm loving your new narrated videos. You tell some pretty great stories.

I will miss the old Middletown platform. I thought it was pretty cool. I do think the new platforms/station will be good though. Neat video!

Very Nice Catches my man!! Especially those of 662, 100, and 108!! But the Tresspasser incident is probably y they fenced off the old platform in the 1st place. (Damn Tresspassers!!) It's a shame that it can't be repurposed as a trainwatching platform similar to the one in Macungie. But the new station is nice and I think I might check it out myself nextime I'm on the PA area.

Well they were going to put the fence in there anyways because there's one on the other side but yes, lots of people walking on the tracks to get to the creek, makes sense why they put one there. I agree that it's too bad they did not keep a small platform for train buffs.

Great video as always. I live near Reading where they unfortunately discontinued passenger rail service in 1981, but they are trying to get it back, which is so exciting. However, they said we are looking at 5-10 years until we see our first train. But it will be worth the wait. At least I still have my fond memories from the 70s of train rides with my grandmother who lived there.

Hey man, I just wanna say that you are my biggest inspiration to start posting on UA-cam again. I enjoy how well put together and solid your videos are. In fact, you also sparked my interest in the keystone corridor. Since then, I have visited 5 times. And i have gone to some of the spots in these videos like Irishtown,Middletown, etc. Thank you again for these amazing videos!

Unpredictable Pennsylvania winter weather? Actually it's very predictable.
Cold. Snow. Cold. Snow. Cold with snow. Snow with cold. And so on...
Just kidding man! I love Pennsylvania and always enjoy my visits tremendously!
(Especially to Henning's Trains in Lansdale! Another story.)
That Middletown station's very impressive, a classic look too. It's a lot better looking than the "bus station" we've got on Staples Mill Road here in the Richmond VA area!
Fun video, and well done! A fast sixteen minutes! Thanks for posting!

It's noted that the phase three paint scheme on the AC-64 Sprinter is a commemorative tribute to Amtrak's AEM-7 locomotive that ran on Amtrak from 1979 to 2015 they were put in service to replace the GG1 electric locomotives from the Pennsylvania Railroad and the non-reliable E60 electric locomotives we're surprisingly still work for Amtrak for many more years and we're retired as recently as 2004 having survived to see the first Acela Express passenger trains to be put in service The story for the AEM7 doesn't end here two of these engines have been sent to California to Caltrain for testing on their line once the electrification from San Francisco to San Jose is complete

Another monster station for what was a small stop that services only a handful of people at a time.
The paid parking is very annoying I can't even pull into the station in Berlin anymore without worrying about a ticket and the music ruins the once quiet relaxing small station.
