I took a few trips to the Amtrak Keystone Corridor in the winter of 2021 to see the progress of the new Middletown Station construction, as well as document the site of the old platform. While I was there, the Middletown & Hummelstown Railroad also made an appearance, and some Norfolk Southern on the Royalton Branch! While not every visit was covered in snow, the beautiful clear winter days between storms were perfect to take advantage of capturing Amtrak's Phase III Heritage Unit 145 in service on the Pennsylvanian. I also stopped by my favorite spots in Mt Joy and to get my first snow shots at the then relatively new Mount Joy station, which offers a great place for railfans and passengers alike. A few other locations were visited as well. In the next video coming soon, I'll start my day in Middletown and chase a train down the Royalton Branch all the way down to the Northeast Corridor where we were met with snow & ice. Thanks for watching!
Really excellent video with some very good shots ( and a couple nice horn salutes ) along a nice stretch of Keystone country. Hopefully Amtrak ( and Septa ) will increase service back to previous levels soon.
I kinda like how that double ACS-64 six cat consist looked... like a whole lot. I wish they'd run all corridor electrics like that and perhaps with new venture passenger coaches. A good reason to buy more city sprinters!!
Very Cool Catches!! I also love your exploration of New Sopts and Camera angles!! To be honest, I did head over to the Keystone Corridor in 2020, but not as often as in 2021. But even then I failed 2 see the New Station in construction in person. But Did Catch Amtrak 108 Leading 43 near Eby Chquies Road in December.
Come down to Parkesburg. there is a pretty good stretch of track for shooting approaches. Let me know and I'll meet ya there. I live 10 minutes walking from the station
Where are most of the accessible signals located along this line? I've never gotten a chance to really fan it before and I'm planning a trip there in a couple weeks.
I know I’m way late but, how do you figure out the signal names on this line? As far as I know, timetables of this “subdivision” are incredibly hard to find or nonexistent, as are NEC timetables. Great video nonetheless!
I find it said how Amtrak's latest motive power has sadly gone downhill aesthetically from their predecessors. Compare an ACS-64 with an HHP-8 (or the new generation Acela with its predecessor), and most of all a Siemens Charger with a P42DC. 😕
I think the only thing I am looking forward too is the Siemens chargers in the heritage schemes, otherwise I will miss the P42s. A lot of them have ACSES for the Keystone Corridor so they may stick around for a bit. The repurposing of HHP-8 as cab cars will also be bizarre to see if that comes to reality.
Speaking of bad omens... I watched the part of the crows gathering in front of the 666 while this video has 666 likes.. I wonder if that says anything...

I wanna visit that station in 17:17
I love the Keystone Corridor! It's so awesome that an electrified passenger rail line goes deep into PA
8:17 im the opposite i love seeing push/pulls especially the sound of the sprinters going buy afterwards
I’ve watched this video a few times. I love the narration, snow shots and the Pa scenery
18.50 Love how that 600 wound up.. God bless those that brave cold and snow!
Great footage as always
As always, Eric…excellent work.
Thanks Lewis!!!
Your winter snapshots of trains made me happy! I liked them! Thanks, Eric!
Cool that you managed to catch that Alco just by hearing it from across town.

Your videos are OUTSTANDING!

Nice catches, and of course excellent photography!
Btw, it looks...oh so cold!
It is! It snowed here today too, and currently 25F
nil im gonna miss the old station, it makes a good location to take pictures
I feel the same way. The new fences are already up.
Dose so cool I love it🤩🤩🤩🤩

Love the snow shots. Very cool
Wow, such a cool video, as usual. Together with the surprisingly unpopular Central Los Andes, this is the best channel on UA-cam, no doubt. Cheers!
Very well done!
12:58 the "pointless arrow" is the old amtrak logo
Great video and a lot great details.
Thanks! Glad you liked the info.
broth, Love it- outstannding ,catch you later. 👽
Wow North east corridor
Very nice. New subscriber 🙂. Question: Are the alternating ditch lights somehow connected to the horn? Thanks
Ugh I really hope the Keystone Corridor comes to TSW
YOU FORGET ELIZABTHTOWN PA
I went there in the Spring / Summer, coming in a future video.
Nice work, was wondering if the Sprinter locos ever fall under the double Pantagraph order???
They do under icy conditions but I don't think that was the case for any in this video.
I loved your comments on the #666 and flock of crows. Especially since a flock of crows is called a "murder"! 🤣🤣

What bridge is that next to the old ebiciqeus road crossing
Maibach Lane
Do inbound Pennsylvanian services not get their locos swapped out at Harrisburg with an electric loco? It's odd seeing a P42 under the Keystone wires
I saw 145 On Saturday

And people hated the F Units because they weren't steam. Times, and minds, change.
can you go in a Acela that goes hi ho
